Dragon roll

Just a quick update with menu pictures. Still great food and still wonderful service. I will be back as I'm a huge sushi fan.

One of the best sushi spots in Lake Nona area, not only is the sushi absolutely delicious and tastes fresh but it also has amazing prices. The staff goes above and beyond! I definitely recommend this place.

My sushi order

Found this hidden gem as I am traveling into Orlando for work for a couple of days. I was craving sushi and found this spot as I was driving by. It was earlier in the evening and I was greeted warmly and sat right away. The server was kind and attentive and had a cheerful kind attitude. I ordered three different roles and it was delicious. The sushi was fresh and made beautifully and the prices are great. If your in the mode for sushi in Orlando look no more add this to your list!

Spicy garlic edamame

Ordered take out and I was really disappointed with this meal. The sushi rolls were tiny, even the chef's specialty rolls that cost almost twice as much as the regular ones. The Volcano Roll had no flavor at all. The Crunchy Roll wasn't crunchy. The Monster Roll was the best one we tried, nice textures, but even that was small for the price. The crab rangoons were unfortunately a letdown. They were mostly empty inside, just hollow shells with barely any filling. The bit of filling that was there actually tasted great -- a sweet, creamy flavor -- but there just wasn't enough of it. The red sauce that came with it was yummy tho. The garlic and spicy edamame were soggy and watery. Nothing had the fresh, bold flavors I expected. Between the portion sizes and the quality, this just didn't live up to the price. Most likely will not come back.

Crazy tuna roll on the right and Florida volcano on the left

The Good: The restaurant is beautiful and serene. The music played softly in the background and wasn't a distraction. Our server was attentive and our food came out quickly. She was quick to refill our water, which she served from a pitcher steeped with fresh fruit. The menu was well thought out, offering truly unique options, with pictures of some of their popular dishes. The ambiance alone was worth 5 stars. The Not So Good: The food was mediocre at best. We started with the spicy tuna nachos and hot rock appetizers. The spicy tuna mixture had zero flavor. Literally none. They rolled it into a ball and sat it on top of a Tostito's scoop. Cute and convenient but very conflicting flavor profiles. Spicy tuna and tortilla chips do not go together. My husband enjoyed the octopus takoyaki, but I could barely stand the smell of the wooden fish shavings. We ordered several other items that were also disappointing. The salmon sushi tasted fishy, the Florida volcano was sloppy and flavorless, and the kimchi sauce on the crazy tuna roll was gross. We absolutely love kimchi and this sauce was unpleasant to say the least. We highly recommend that you ask to taste the kimchi sauce first before you order a roll soaked in it. Our favorite was the Out of Control Roll, which we added cream cheese to. Overall, the restaurant is beautiful and has a lot to offer. The quality was there, but the flavor wasn't. I even wondered if they water down their soy sauce. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong things, or went on an off day. They have plenty of five star reviews so maybe it's worth deciding for yourself.

Definitely try this spot out if you are looking for sushi in the Lake Nona Area. This is a great spot for date night with tons of food options. The decor in the restaurant is modern and bright but also cozy. We had a wonderful server, Gabby, who was knowledgeable and so helpful when going through the menu. We were blown away by their presentation of our sushi rolls, which came in small sushi boats with fresh flowers. The food was delicious, the fish was very fresh, and it was overall some of the best sushi that we have had in the Orlando area. Highly recommend this restaurant, it was a 10/10, we will definitely be coming back!

My husband and I were a little disappointed that the old AYCE Japanese buffet was no longer open but we still decided to try this place out. The decor was a little more upscale, more of a cafe theme with soft music in the background. We went at lunch and it was still busy. We ordered the salmon bowl and eel bowls...prices were a little high but the food was good and service was good.

To start, they have a great Happy Hour 3-6 pm with a limited menu, but Sapporo drafts and local brews are under $5 each. That is a win right there. They also have beer and Sake flights. My Go to here is the Tonkotsu Black Ramen, but I have had the others and never a bad experience. There is something really welcoming about Jinya. I suspect they treat there staff well and hire the right people. Everytime I am here I feel like they are over staffed, but there are plenty of tables inside and out in this intimate venue. My two favorite happy hour dishes are the Salmon Pke Tacos and the Crispy Chicken. I used to live on Lake Eola Park and I so miss coming here. Glad I stumbled in here today.

The tofu was very soft and not my favorite in terms of flavor, but everything else in the Spicy Creamy V Ramen was delicious. I also tried the Impossible meat bao, but the texture of the meat was a bit too firm or overcooked for my liking, especially paired with the soft bao bun. That said, I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu, as there are so many options to choose from. Our server, Carl, was very friendly and attentive. I visited on a Friday evening, and the ambiance was relaxed yet lively, with plenty of groups enjoying dinner or drinks at the bar.

Their wings are so crispy, I think they're some of the best wings I've had. I also highly recommend their Tokyo Ramen. The chicken thighs in the ramen are crispy and have great flavor. I only wish there was more broth because it was so yummy. Food came out fast and service was great.

Amazing Japanese spot!!…read more Once you enter, you are met with a huge seating area including a bar where you can only get drinks. Most people in there are waiting for a table inside the main restaurant. Once we got called back, we sat at another bar area where you can see the kitchen. Very interesting layout. We started with the famous domu wings and I seriously will be thinking about the wings until I go back. So much flavor in those things. I love that the noodles are made in house so I wanted to try the ramen of course. I got the Richie Rich ramen which was tasteful but I wish you could choose to add some spice in it. Still great though. My sister got the tonkotsu with black garlic and she almost ate the entire thing. Also got some shishito peppers and that was also just as good as everything else. I kept seeing the lychee martini being ordered to I got that and it was as good as everyone mentioned. It does have popping boba at the bottom which I loved but I know not everyone likes it so just an fyi. My sister got the Roddy pom. The place is pretty small and they don't take reservations so be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes. We got there 25 minutes after opening and waited 40 minutes. The parking gets filled fast along with overflow parking being full so be prepared to find a spot.

I don't feel they do a great job explaining their menu to people who are unfamiliar with udon, especially cuz there are no pictures for them to see what they're ordering. It was fine for me as I'm super familiar with Japanese food. We got tempura udon, which is something I've been craving, and they did a great job. I highly recommend it. We didn't feel like a cocktail so I got an iced tea and he got a viet coffee but they served it in a cocktail glass so it was such a small amount... def shoulda been served in a tall glass, cuz why do I have to be slowly sipping that c'mon. The service was good. They were all friendly and courteous. Oh, parking is a nightmare. There's a lot in the back but you'll be lucky to find a spot. There's street parking but that's also crazy. Def not their fault but just be aware. All in all a nice place. I'd def come back again for their food.

Of the zensai (appetizers), I've tried the Tatsuta-Age, which was pretty tasty. Hot and crispy with good flavor. The udon is also top notch. They make it in house. Perfect chewy texture, what Taiwanese would call "QQ" I realized after my second visit that I still have not tried an udon with hot broth. I've tried the Spicy Miso Tan-Tan Udon, which was quite tasty, although a little on the richer/heavier side. I have also tried the Mentaiko Tsukimi Udon which was refreshing in the cold broth. I paired it with an add-on of sliced beef, which was delicious, they serve it on the side so you can add to whatever dish on your own. What I wouldn't recommend... The Viet Coffee with sesame foam and crushed sesame seeds was hard to drink. I loved the initial flavors but the foam got a little greasy and clumpy when mixed with the crushed sesame seeds, particularly toward the second half of the coffee. I wouldn't order it again. I would be interested to see any updates they've made recently but with so many new restaurants on Mills, I may choose those first.

But first, the ambiance is perfection! The spot is busy, but they control the crowd so it never feels too crazy. The music is moody, but luckily not too loud. I would definitely say get in earlier in the night so you miss the wait, but, waiting might be part of the allure. We started with the gyoza, and these were unreal. Perfectly cooked, super consistent, packed with flavor. I just wish they brought out about three more orders without us asking. That's the only problem...you'll want way more than you get. The crab and corn croquettes had this awesome crunch right out of the gate, and the flavor was spot on. Whatever sauce they serve with it takes the whole thing up another level, don't skip that bite. The Japanese fried chicken was just solid all around. Juicy, great breading, but what really stood out was the seasoning sprinkled on top. It sounds simple, but it's not, sprinkle it on everything! Then came the crab fried rice...hands down the best fried rice I've had in Orlando. Big chunks of crab (not those tiny flakes you have to hunt for), great portion, and just really well balanced. This one alone is worth the return trip. The scallop crudo felt like summer on a plate. Bright, lemony, super fresh. Maybe a touch salty for me personally, but still something I'd order again without hesitation. We also did the beef and pork belly skewers--both good, but the beef edged it out. If you go that route, get the chimichurri. Overall, this place just gets it: fun atmosphere, thoughtful food, and dishes you actually remember after you leave. Already trying to figure out when we can go back...because this definitely needs to be in the regular rotation.
