Made a reservation for Valentines Day. From the moment we walked in, we knew it would be chaotic. The restaurant was not even half full. The hostess was also a server who never had anything to write on and had to constantly come back to us to order food and drink. I think it was an understaffed situation and not the two servers fault necessarily. Food came before cocktails, no silverware when food was delivered and then once silverware arrived, no napkins? We were in a cozy little booth which was nice for Valentine's Day. The restaurant was clean however they had the front door propped open and letting the cool air in (which was nice) but also the bugs (not so great). Now onto the good part. The food was amazing. From the curry mussels to the goat cheese and beet salad and the ramen. The ramen is so so good. We weren't in a rush for dinner but we also were not expecting it to take as long as it did or have the low level of service. Yas great service and ramen today at "The Rev". We did the valet parking for $2 wout tip at the sister restaurant right by "Santiago's Bodega" felt like a no brainer. Then came in to enjoy a hot bowl of freshly prepared ramen. I got the Florida and my son got the chicken. You can customize the toppings which is so ideal and they have so many. Ugh my fav topping by far was the mushrooms in the chicken ramen, flavorlicious and the chicken kaarage on point! It was my sons but I was all over his. This place is a real gem, just off mills in the Ivanhoe district. They are way more than a ramen bar. We stopped in for an early dinner and had our choice of seating. They have these great family friendly booths that are partially enclosed, would also be ideal for a date night. David, our server was quite possibly the best server in all of Orlando. Truly helpful kind and memorable. He explained that they have daily specials, a pretty extensive happy hour and while there is not a kids menu there are tons of kids friendly options including A ramen bowl (broth and noodles). They also have plastic cups with straws and lids for littles that many restaurants have phased out and I still very much appreciate. We tried the sugar snap peas with shrimp, surprisingly delicious with a complex slightly spice sauce, the chicken lovers ramen, their burger, tofu and the unexpected star of the show the lobster butter toast. The ramen was great and the noodles were the best texture I've had in a long while. The tempura chicken thigh that comes in it would be great even on its own The burger was pretty good but the fries that came with it were absolutely top tier. The lobster butter toast. Japanese milk bread toasted in plenty of rich lobster butter. I couldn't get enough and neither could my kids. So great. The owner was kind and informative. He truly cares about his restaurant and the quality of the foods they put out. They have seafood, ramen, and drink options. I was craving a nice bowl of ramen. The lychee saketini is the best one of all the saketinis (comes with two lychees). As for my review of the ramens... a solid 8.5/10. My friends and I got the TR 50/50 and Big Pappa ramen (like $18), pricey side but there isn't much Asian food around. Each bowl came with two halves of a marinated egg. The menu has a lot of customizable options like if you want chili oil or extra ingredients for an extra cost. The big pappa ramen has a thick strong pork meat flavor. The char Siu was two thin pieces of pork belly, kinda reminded me of bacon tbh. The bamboo shoots, however, were outright not good. It tasted watery like straight from the can - had absolutely no soup flavor. The lobster and shrimp salad ($16) was delicious. The Japanese milk bread dipped into the concoction (needed more than a small bowl) was delicious. The 6 Jameson oysters with their vinaigrette was delicious and not too small for fall season. They had 3 different types of oysters. The seacuterie looked interesting but sounded like it was pricey for not a lot of food. The appetizers came quick first. There's plenty of seating from booth to tall bar tables. Free parking in the back lot, but you could also pay for valet. They're right next to their sister bar/restaurant store. read more

As a ramen lover, I was deeply ecstatic that The Rev opened up in the Ivanhoe Village area. The Rev is a great addition to the area. The ambiance is nice and chill. It has a homey feel to it, which adds to the chill and calmness of the restaurant space. They have a good amount of seating and even moments where you can get a bit more of an intimate feel for a nice little date night. The decor is simple but nice. It is usually not super crowded. So, it's a great place to pop into if you don't want to deal with the hustle and bustle of its neighboring restaurants. The staff and service are excellent. Overall, my first experience was really good. Now, as it relates to the food, I will say it is not my favorite ramen in town, but it is good. Everything was prepared well, and the presentation of the dishes was very nice. My friend enjoyed every bit of their dish and finished it in the restaurant. I had some leftovers to go (as I usually do), and they held up nicely. I ordered the Chicken Little dish while my friend ordered their Florida dish. The drinks were also super tasty. I had their Sparkling Pear Saketini - which was a nice and delightful drink. As someone who is trying to get into Sakes, this was a nice happy medium. All in all, it was a tasty meal. I went for the Orlando sip and savor week (deal with restaurants in the downtown area). I arrived without a reservation on a Saturday evening, and decided to sit in the bar area. My bartender, David, greeted me and gave me some time to look at the menu. I noticed the sip and savor deal had drink specials as well, so I took a lychee and passion fruit saketini (8 dollars during the special). It was a sweet and refreshing saketini. I tasted mostly lychee than passion fruit, but it was still delicious. I also loved that there were 2 lychees to enjoy as the topping. There was a right amount of sake to provide the buzz, but nothing overwhelming. The menu was a three course dinner for 35 dollars. I took the suggested tuna poke for my appetizer. It has three nicely sized wontons with a nice amount of raw tuna. The wontons held the tuna well, and still crispy to enjoy. The tuna was quite fresh and soft, and the sauces had a citrus flavor with a kick of spice too. For my entree, I chose the pork and chicken ramen. When I tried the broth, I noticed something was missing. It was seasonings! Even though the broth had the pork and chicken flavor, it needed some seasonings to add the umami taste. Same with the fried chicken included in the soup. While the chicken was tender, the tempura tasted like KFC without the herb and spices. I did enjoy the chasu, egg, cucumber, and bean sprouts that were included as well though. The noodles looked to be instant brand, but not too bad. While the soup could have been better, it was still good enough to enjoy and filling enough to take home for leftovers. For dessert, the yuzu cheesecake was just right. It had the perfect amount of citrus flavor without puckering my lips, and it was rich enough to be filling. The blueberry sauce was a bit too much, and syrupy for my taste. Edamame was also included for snacking, and very enjoyable with the chili seasoning. The service from David was great and attentive. He kept checking up on me and helped me with packing my leftovers into the bag. He also cleaned the table between the courses too. The atmosphere is small and casual. There is a small bar where I sat, and I also saw some tables with curtains to create an intimate setting. Parking was small and can be difficult to find, but thankfully valet parking was available for 2 dollars. The valet staff was excellent! The Rev is a nice concept owned by the restaurant next door, Santiago Bodega. While it's pretty casual, the food and drinks are mostly good. David was my server, knowledgeable with the menu! He brought me complimentary boiled peanuts to start before the Big meal! I ordered the Florida Ramen! Seasoning was to overwhelming! Not enough broth! Noodles are overcooked and soft! The broth was not served hot! David customer service was superb though! This is such a great new spot in Ivanhoe Village! They had a great happy hour going on when we arrived for dinner so my husband and I each ordered a sake drink and the Deviled Eggs, which were amazing!! The restaurant is very beautiful. It was a little too warm for me. I was starting to break a sweat by the end of our dining. It also seemed like there was just one person there and he was doing a lot so I had to flag him down a couple times. I got the three dollar oysters on happy hour, the pork Ramen, the Gyoza, and the 50-50 Ramen. The oysters came with this white miso dressing that was really yummy. I would come back here just for the oysters. The Ramen was just OK. The 50-50 had a tempura Chicken piece on there that was very crispy and not too greasy and delicious. I didn't care for the dumplings. The texture on the inside and on the steam side was a little weird. The pork chashu was also very good. The broth was pretty standard. But I feel like that's kind of what you get in Orlando. I truly haven't found a good Ramen place in Orlando. And by that I mean, good enough for me. My boyfriend and I were looking for dinner late. I saw that the rev was still open and I had been wanting to give it a try. We were able to get seated pretty close to closing time. I went for the coconut lobster and my boyfriend did the Florida ramen. They ran out of coconut rice for the lobster so I was given white rice instead. It was basic but I was in the mood for lobster. So they cut up the tail into pieces and then put it back in the tail for presentation. The sauce was good but I would've liked a little more sauce in the dish since the rice was plain. The Florida ramen was really good. The broth was a fish broth I believe and very flavorful. I love the succotash in it. It was not salty or heavy. Different from Japanese ramen broth. I liked everything in the ramen except the blackened fish. My boyfriend liked everything in it. Our server David was really nice. It was literally raw on the inside! When I brought it up with the staff, they tried to argue with me that the pork was indeed cooked through. Um, pork isn't pink when cooked through. Not worth $24.00 for one small shrimp, eight bay scallops and a piece of blackened mahi. The dish is also served with celery. They didn't peel the celery, very stringy. Didn't eat it. Great flavors though. The service was just so so. Our first server had black nail polish on their fingers that was 3/4 peeled or wore off. Not a hygiene and food safety recommendation. We had four other servers visiting the table for various things. If one orders ice tea, the server needs to go next door the their sister restaurant. This small restaurant doesn't offer detailed service and auctions off the dishes when delivering. That means, who has this dish and that dish. Not expected when spending a couple of hundred dollar dinner. The restaurant had an eclectic look. Loved the casual atmosphere. The A/C definitely needed help. Pretty warm in the dining area. The service was too attentive (I don't want to be asked if I need anything every three minutes I want to eat in peace), and the food was just..... soooo meh. The vegetables tasted like they'd been left boiling for an hour, all of the flavors overwhelmed each other, and nothing about it was GOOD Japanese food. I definitely wouldn't go back. Nice new addition to the area. Went with the fam to check it out and see what they had to offer. From the outside looked like it was going to be small but going inside it's actually well put together with some booths, tables, and a nice bar/counter to sit at. Think they were in soft opening status still because when we went in there wasn't anyone there and they didn't have a few dishes which we wanted to try. Unfortunately for kiddos they don't have a menu for them so it's limited for them but we decided to get the fried rice w/ chicken for him and he enjoyed it. The chicken was cooled perfect and the rice was very good. We also got the deviled eggs which were yummy and flavorful, my wife and I split the TR 50/50 Ramen which also was yummy had a different flavor broth from traditional Japanese ramens I have had at other restaurants, pork and chicken was cooked perfectly and nice size portion, and lastly we split 1/2 a dozen oysters (I totally forgot the name of them) but they were very delicious and flavorful only bummer was they were quite small i definitely could've eaten more of those tho.
