This is a great AYCE-only sushi spot--it is surprisingly spacious and the atmosphere is great, though the parking can be a bit cramped, as it is located alongside a number of other decently popular businesses as well. Our party of 4 was seated quickly, and the service was pretty solid. The pricing makes sense, especially for a spot that does offer AYCE sashimi. I would pass over the appetizers, as most of them taste kind of like freezer food, but the nigiri, sashimi, and rolls are pretty solid! The rice-to-fish ratio is on the rice-heavy side, so I definitely recommend adding in some of the appetizers & sashimi options if you aim to eat the value of what you paid. Though flagging down a server was occasionally a bit difficult due to the insulated nature of the booth seats, we were checked on regularly and had no trouble putting in our orders. The food mostly came out quite quickly, and the drinks as well. I found the drinks menu to be pretty solid, with some nonalcoholic options alongside the alcoholic. I recently visited Sushi Kaizen with friends and had a fantastic experience. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, going out of her way to ensure a spider roll was prepared without asparagus to accommodate a friend's dietary preference. While the building's exterior still resembles its former Italian chain iteration, the interior has been beautifully transformed into a modern, Asian-inspired space. The menu is impressive and caters to everyone from casual diners to true sushi connoisseurs. Everything we ordered arrived fresh, at the perfect temperature, and tasted delicious. During my last visit, we were sitting in the booth right in front of another customer who was having an issue with a to-go box. We witnessed the whole situation, and honestly, I felt terrible watching the way she spoke to the employees. They remained professional and respectful even though she was being extremely rude and disrespectful to them. This was so good I came here twice on my trip. Delicious. I especially enjoyed the dynamite roll that was so delicious. The gyoza were good, the salmon katsu was yummy. Swung by here today to see what all the hype was about. It is a very pretty resturant. I liked the grand entrance with the cherry blossom trees. It felt very clean and was quiet. I got assorted items: mushroom soup, krab rangoon, edamame, shrimp, vegetable hibachi, gyoza, various sushi options, and chocolate ice cream. Most items tasted fine to me, but nothing really blew me away in terms of quality. We went for lunch, so it was $22 per person. We got a lot of food for what we paid, but honestly, nothing was so spectacular that it would make me rush back to eat here again. I will say that our server was very attentive and checked in on us every five minutes to see if we wanted more food. He was excellent. Wow, wow, wow! All you can eat sushi have this quality for $22.95 for lunch. This is not as great food. It is great food at a bargain price. I absolutely love this place and will not miss it anytime I am in Orlando. I have been here twice now once for lunch once for dinner. I honestly don't remember dinner being better than the lunch, but we'll try to figure out if there are additional offerings that make it worth the other price. But for lunch, this has to be the best option in all of Orlando if you love sushi like I love sushi. Let me start by saying that the fish is extremely fresh. Nothing fancy in the way that it is deserved, but certainly nicely. The variety is quite good and while it is missing the more expensive cuts of fish, this would be expected at this price. But what you do get is delicious. Everything I tried I enjoyed. I suppose my only criticism would be that there are not sashimi choices so even though the fish, the rice ratio is relatively good you're going to fill up quickly. The servers are good. They are always available when you need them, but are not in your face. It did take me a while to get my check and at a particularly busy part of the lunch, rush it to take longer to get the attention of my server, but overall, I can't find any fault in that. They were not particularly good at filling water though. The restaurant is pretty standard and appearance and it's comfortable but not fancy but has an enjoyable vibe. I found the salmon to be just the right amount of fat to be perfectly tasty, the tuna to be fresh and delicious, and the other fish to all be of high-quality. I can't believe I hadn't been here yet. This is an all you can eat sushi place. It's known for it wide variety options. It's not just sushi. You can also get hot food items like hibachi and appetizers. I was so impressed by the selection of food options for the price of this AYCE. Everything is made to order so it's brought out when you put it in and it's ready. I started with the Krab Rangoon and the Crispy Tuna Rice as appetizers. Both were delicious and came out fresh. My main meals was several of the speciality rolls. I got the Naruto roll, Rock 'n' Roll, Crazy Roll and the Mango Crunch roll. All were unique and I was stuffed after. OMG. Where do I even start? Just to set the situation: We're visiting from NJ. We're not fancy, and we're definitely not a wealthy family - basically, we're just good, hard-working people who can afford to splurge sometimes. Our family eats sushi probably twice a month - takeout, all-you-can-eat, sit-down restaurants, you name it. So we have a pretty good idea of what good (and bad) sushi tastes like. We picked this place based on the Yelp reviews because we were specifically looking for an all-you-can-eat option. When we dine in, we tend to go a little overboard with ordering, so AYCE usually makes more sense for us. Our waiter immediately told us that if we left sushi on our plates, we would have to pay extra. We were like, "You really don't need to worry about that." But... apparently, we should have worried. The food: * Miso soup: Never arrived. * Kani salad: B * Crab Rangoon: C * Salmon sushi: B * Mackerel sushi: C * Philadelphia roll: D - We barely finished the dish. * Dragon roll: D - We barely finished the dish. * Crazy roll: F - We couldn't finish it. The roll had cooked fish inside that honestly looked like cat food. * N Roll (forgot the name): F - The salmon inside the cucumber appeared to be leftover pieces from trimming the fatty part. You could actually see it when you opened the sushi. We didn't finish this one either. At that point, we realized: enough is enough. Such poor quality. We paid and left. And then, on the way home, we came to a few conclusions: 1. The warning about paying for unfinished sushi isn't really for people who over-order - it's for people who can't tolerate the food. 2. We both agreed that Sam's Club sushi is probably better quality. 3. We both agreed this was the worst sushi we have ever eaten. 4. We should have known something was wrong when the sushi arrived without wasabi or ginger on the plate. That's a pretty big no-no for us. Any positives? The music selection was good. Beautiful interior as soon as you walk into the restaurant. There was no wait for a party of two on a Friday night, but it was still pretty busy, so this was nice to see! We were able to put in drinks and initial AYCE order very quickly after sitting down to make sure things got started with the kitchen. I started with some salmon sashimi and shrimp fried rice - the rice, being from the kitchen versus the raw bar, took a little while to come out (but not an unreasonable amount of time). I tried some of my husband's Kobe roll, and it was very well put together. I also tried the Spring Rolls - way too oily and not much flavor because of that. Finally topped it off with more sashimi (scallop and salmon this time). I want to note that the sashimi here was incredibly fresh and quality, and decently sized for the slices. I was impressed with this, and I hope that this same quality continues further beyond their fresh grand opening. To close it out, we tried the cheesecake - it was definitely a frozen cheesecake slice they thawed out, but was still good. Maybe a little too much chocolate sauce drizzle, would prefer slightly less or for it to come on the side. Everything was presented very nicely, and the service was okay. Sushi Kaizen is new to Orlando/Kissimmee but absolutely shot to the top of the AYCE sushi offerings in the area. At $34 per person it's on par with similar offerings but its standout was the speed at which orders were delivered and the freshness of the food on offer was incredible. The sashimi and sushi samplings I had were delicious. The sashimi was always brought out over ice keeping it at the perfect temperature. I was a bit dissatisfied by the plainness of the spring roll and greasiness of the fried rice, but I can definitely give credit for how well seasoned the rice was, as that is definitely not common at AYCE sushi establishments. I really enjoyed the spice in the Geisha Roll and the cheesecake although simple was a lovely capstone to the meal. I do wish the service was a bit better. Our server seemed a bit flustered as they forgot to ask for my order on a couple of occasions as well as the table was missing simple things like napkins and Soy Sauce dishes until we asked several times. Okay, as of this date I/we have found the BEST AYCE sushi restaurant in Central Florida! Grant it, we have only been to 3 others; but we currently have no reason to go try elsewhere. This is the second trip during a 7 day span, because it was that GOOD! Definitely worth the 30 to 40 minute drive. Not only is the sushi, everything we have ordered, downright delicious and satisfying, the service has been fantastic both trips! The presentations, just like the tastes, are quite nice (we do eat with our eyes too, so I have been told). They used minimal rice in both their sushi rolls and nigiri; another plus . The price for the AYCE is worth every penny; and reasonable too. Both times we were a party of 6, which included a young child and 2.5 year old (both eating a la carte from their menu), and they did NOT try to screw us over with an added "service charge" like many restaurants will do / have done to us before (with a child and/or toddler no less!) . The menu for the AYCE has many options to choose from. I took several photos that will be attached. I spaced out on writing the names down for those reading this review and I apologize. The interior is very nice, to go with the great service. This is our go-to place for sure and I can't see it changing unless Kaizen goes downhill for some reason in the future. Last night we decided to take the drive over to check out Sushi Kaizen, the newest addition to AYCE sushi restaurants. It is located on busy 192 but easy to spot with their signage. The parking is shared with another restaurant but there seemed to be plenty of space. The space when we entered was clean and bright and we were welcomed by 2 greeter behind a desk. It wasn't too busy when we arrived so we were seated right away. We waited a few minutes before we were greeted by our server but it gave us time to look over the menu. Menu seemed similar to Sushi Yama where we go often, but I noticed Sushi Kaizen a lot more eel on their rolls. We had to pay attention since we don't like eel. Once we ordered, our kitchen items came pretty quickly. My husband likes to start with the chicken and steak hibachi so we ordered that with our appetizers. We definitely preferred the steak from Sushi Yama. The piece I had was tough and chewy as was one of the baked green mussels I had ordered which was a bit off putting to me. The rice tuna came in 2 pieces and I really liked those. The gyoza were definitely the frozen kind and didn't seem cooked all the way. The signature rolls we ordered were really good. We ordered the Volcano roll, Crunchy Crab, Geisha and something else. I ordered myself a spider roll that was good. They did bring us a roll that wasn't ours and I'm glad we didn't touch it since it contained eel when I asked what it was since it was tempura battered. I think the Geisha roll was the best we tried but be careful it does have a kick! We finished with the fried cheesecake. Not fans. It was covered in chocolate sauce and the "fried" part wasn't. It definitely was defrosted too long and not tasty at all. Overall, the fish in the sushi was very fresh and I appreciated the rolls were just the right ratio. We had ice cream for desert as they ran out of cheesecake. They have a great assortment of sushi to choose from. Being brand new I had a few hiccups. I called since it was New Year's Day to see if it was dinner prices and they said they had lunch like usual today so we drove 30 minutes to find out that wasn't the case. Dinner prices all day. We still stayed and have a wonderful meal. We were a party of 6 so auto gratuity is added which is perfectly fine. Server told me so I just signed for my meal. When I got home looked at the text receipt and I was also charged an 18% gratuity. Make sure to look when you pay. The 18% is automatically selected you have to change it when you have an auto gratuity. They fixed it for me over the phone. We will definitely be back. Decided to try a new recommended spot instead of our usual sushi place and was not disappointed. As a matter of fact this might be our new go to spot. My wife said it reminded her of harry housens from Monsters inc lol. The variety of rolls and appetizers were amazing and the price for AYCE sushi definitely fair. We tried a variety of appetizers which are shown in the photos, all of which were amazing, I also had the baked chicken hibachi and pork gyoza (not pictured) after my rolls because my wife was full and I didn't want to have a roll solo. As for rolls we got each and every single one of them were amazing, the speedy and efficiency in which everything was brought out was amazing. We were definitely impressed. Negatives are minor such as the overheard music... played some sad slow songs that would ruin a mood if I'm being honest lol. And then our server kinda just disappeared on us after our food came out. The sushi is phenomenal. We came in on a busy Friday and our host and server were so friendly! The food options were never ending and we tried a lot of rolls. All of them were devoured as well as the hibachi. Great service and we even went a second time recently and it was even better!!
