It's a great place for a weekday lunch break especially during work days when you are on the run. We love to order the fried gyoza. It's perfectly crispy and the sweet sauce on the side makes it even more delicious. We also love the lunch hibachi special. It's a very generous portion and the price is also affordable. For $12.95 you get the house salad, miso soup, and a big plate of fried rice, chicken, and vegetables with white sauce on the side. It's one of our favorite meals. I visited this restaurant with seven friends during our recent visit to Orlando. First and foremost, the pricing here is unbelievable as they offer happy hour-type pricing, which came out to be $4.00 per roll, WHAT!! Granted, it was fewer pieces than I am used to, but that was ok, as it allowed me to try a variety of sushi I had never tried during my many sushi excursions. The service here started late and slow; once seated, our waiter did not return for over 15 minutes to take our drink orders, and the restaurant was NOT super crowded. This is the reason for the three-star review. Once our drink and food orders were placed, service improved, and it turns out our waiter was a very nice and funny man. I've been coming here for years and every visit reminds me why this is one of my favorite sushi places. Jannina made my visit quick easy and pleasant. I ordered off the happy hour menu right before seven and received my food in less than ten minutes. I ordered two spicy tuna rolls on the happy hour and a Krab Rangoon on the regular menu. I HIGHLY recommend the sweet chili sauce .... Omg it pairs well with everything yes everything .... Okay so we came here as a recommendation from one of Hubs coworkers. Decor well not impressed but it was simple and clean. They have an "all you can eat" menu which is actually pretty well stocked with appetizers, entrees, soups, salads and more. However you would think that because it is all you can eat the price would be affordable but no. We spent with gratuity to the server, who was great, close to $100. Is that too high? I still don't know given the increase in today's economy. Bit overall the food was great and so was the service and that's what makes the experience! read more

I came by because my yoga studio was next door to the restaurant. The yoga teacher recommended it since she's been a few times and raved that the sushi was really good. I tried it and I can agree. I ordered the Krab Ragoons, Shrimp tempura roll and a Yummy roll, both equally delicious. The white sauce that came with the krab ragoons was creamy, soft, warm, and a hint sweet. Stopped here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the portions and prices! We ordered spicy tuna, spicy salmon, eel rolls and a salmon hibachi. The three of us were also each served miso soup and salad. My husband told me it reminded him of his time in Japan since it felt so traditional. You can definitely feel the owners care. I think my cream cheese in one of the sushi's was sour. I couldn't tell at first at the restaurant because of the other ingredients and me dipping in soy sauce. I had leftovers that I brought home and tried the cream cheese itself and yes it was sour. I tried to call the restaurant the next day to tell them to check their cream cheese but the line was consistently busy for the few times I called. My husband and I walked in during lunch time and was happy to find that they were busy but not "##min wait" busy. We picked this place as our date place that day and enjoyed ourselves. We were handed the happy hour menu initially but asked for the AYCE menu and given that without a problem. The AYCE menu is a little broader with apps and desserts which is what we were in the mood for in addition to sushi. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The appetizers came out first and they were all great. I enjoyed my clear soup and edamame. We both ordered the avocado salad which was delicious - we honestly could've shared one. Definitely a mental note for next time. Unfortunately I had something that my stomach didn't agree with and stopped eating earlier than I wanted to.. this is NOT on the restaurant btw. My husband had the same things I had and he was perfectly fine - it was just my stomach that day. But man did I feel terrible having leftover food cleaned up. If you've been to AYCE, you know that is typically frowned upon. And understandably so. My husband, on the other hand, definitely made the most of the AYCE. They are hiring atm (like most places) so keep this in mind. We did find that when it got busier, service was spread thin naturally, but keep in mind not everyone is there for ACYE so that helps alleviate that too. Patience is key. Overall it was a great experience. We will be back again for sure. I will have to come back and eat to make up for my stomach that day. I ate at Shiso sushi a few days ago for the first time with a friend for lunch. We really enjoyed everything about our experience, but some of the tables were only 2 or 3 feet apart so social distancing was not really possible. All staff wore masks, the restaurant seemed very clean and they had hand sanitizer available. We came when the restaurant opened at noon and it got busy, but by 2pm the lunch rush died down. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a happy hour menu with a large variety of rolls for $2-$4. Each roll had 4 pie es which is great because it allows you to try more rolls instead of having eight pieces of the same roll. My friend and I got 4 rolls and a steamed gyoza and the total was just under $24! Everything was fresh tasting and delicious. The global was tasty, but would have better pan seared with some crispiness instead of just steamed. I also had the spicy tuna roll and the Mexican roll. They were both delicious, the spicy tuna at my favorite sushi restaurant is better, but this was enjoyable and I would definitely here again. Rating from F to A+++ is an A+. read more

Initially Went here for AYCE but then switched it to just 4-5 Happy Hour Rolls. I am glad I went with HH option instead because the sushi was rather plain. Some of the rolls I ordered required a lot of soy sauce and spicy Mayo to make it pleasurable. Service was quick and the ambiance was nice and dark for a cute date. I've been going to Shiso Sushi for years literally a loyal customer. But every time, every single time me and my cousin go back they treat us very poorly. This particular waitress ( i wish i knew her name) always bombards me and hovers over me waiting for me to write a tip for her and will stand there and look at me until I'm done writing the tip down. Well two days ago was the icing on the cake for me. Me and my cousin were going there to eat some good food per usual and the same lady we always have issues with sat us down. Did not inform us their card machine was down until after we were done eating. Anyways while she was taking our orders mid talking she would walk away and was just being very rude for no reason. She would see the table needed to be cleared because we were running out of space and we would organize it and put in on the edge of the table for her to take and she would leave it there. Instead of putting the plates down on the table she would rudely shove it in my cousin's face and hand it to her instead of placing it on the table. Her attitude is always horrible. When it got time to pay she lets me know the card machine is down and i never carry cash and she brings me the bill and tells me to "zelle" the number she gave me. I didn't have an issue doing that but she was standing there hovering over me asking me how much im going to tip her. My bill was $46 I told her I was going to zelle $50 she goes "so you're only going to tip me $3 and slams the bill tray on the table. I tip based on service and her service was horrible I didn't want to tip her not even one penny. She was so rude and disrespectful the entire time I don't know why she expects a good tip when she treats people like trash. So I Zelle the number and the owner stops me and doesn't let me leave because he said he hasn't received the payment I pull my bank up and I show him the statement the Zelle payment is processing and show and give him the confirmation number and everything and he basically tells me I cannot leave until he receives the payment and i told him i wasn't going to send him money twice and he proceeds to tell me to write my credit card number down on a piece of paper and then I can leave. That had me FUMING cause that is highly fraudulent and the audacity to even ask a customer to "write their credit card number on a piece of paper" is crazy. After I told him absolutely not he asked me for my phone number in case he doesn't receive the "payment". And he called my number in my face making sure and making seem like I gave him a fake number and I would never even do that because their food is so good. Anyways the food is good but the people there are horrible and treat you poorly. No matter how long you have been going there they do not care they treat you bad. So BEWARE of the rude customer service this place has to offer. read more

We walk in to the restaurant with high expectations and as soon as we walk in look under tables and around us it didn't look clean. I should've off walked away but we decided to stick around. Service was very slow. We order four rolls and they were bad . No flavor, just plain presentation, it tasted worst than supermarket sushi, and let's not talk about the sewer smell that came across our table, so bad that we had to leave the restaurant. Great little find! The ambience is soothing and the host as well as the servers are very friendly, welcoming and amicable. They have a wide variety of sushi here. We tried the teriyaki, rainbow and spicy tuna sushi along with some Pork katsu (comes with a side of delicious egg rice), and, a portion of pork gyoza. Long time regular here and decided to post a review since they updated everything. Restaurant looks fantastic! Booth seating definitely helps with social distancing and honesty more comfortable to sit in than the chairs prior however I am not sure how they will handle large parties in the future. They have a new menu that includes hibachi, sushi, and more. Their "Happy Hour" (which should be more like a "Happy Day" given that it's an all day menu) has removed appetizers and nigiri from its list and now only includes Maki rolls with 4 pieces each but has a wider selection. Their All you can eat menu which is $28.95 per person is very extensive and honestly should've been the route I went since I ordered so much. As always their sushi is fresh, superb quality, and great service. Will continue to be a lifetime customer! read more
