Sushi Tomi is my new guilty pleasure, I can't lie! This unassuming restaurant has a great menu that's got affordable pricing and the portion sizes are larger than expected! I've had their sushi rolls (OBT roll), and their Pork katsudon (rice bowl). I don't know exactly what's the sauce that is on the Katsura but it needs to be bottled and sold immediately! The staff was very friendly, and they were coop front about the seating here with it being a smaller spot. Even on a hectic day during lunch rush the longest I've had to wait for a table is 10-15 minutes. This place looks like it would be a seat yourself situation but you do need to check in with the staff before sitting down to make sure you're not skipping the line of anyone else there that might be waiting. If you're a big fan of sushi or different incisions I recommend checking this place out!

My favorite shop to go to for authentic japanese dishes! The servers and staff were all really sweet and welcoming, and the portions of the food were big. The chicken katsu was delicious, with the sauce being semi sweet and salty, and with rice it was just perfect. They also gave some togarashi, which is a spicy seasoning, and adding that elevates the dish well. I also got the toro nigiri, as it was on the special menu board and the cut of the fish was big/thick, and it melted in your mouth.

Chill traditional Japanese place, quick service, decent prices and good fish. I recommend their negi toro roll, it was simple and delicious.

They are open Saturdays for lunch now. It is not as busy as when it is on weekdays lunch. The chicken teriyaki lunch special is $17 - the bento is with miso soup and cold salad - I usually request 2 miso soups instead of the salad. A teriyaki chicken, shrimp (2) and vegetable tempura (carrot, green beans and eggplant), California roll (8 pcs) and choice of white or fried rice. I also added 4 ($3 each) Tamago nigiri. They make their own Tamago here and its delicious. It's my "dessert" when I order it. So the service here has gone down hill from the times I have visited. Lack of refilling water cups and gestures of how the everything is doing etc. That reflects tips. Only 1 sushi chef on a Saturday with 2 servers. This is the only japanese restaurant that is still authentic by the look of staff and diners. Hanamazuki closed a year or so ago- so that was the competition for lunch sets etc. The food here is still consistent its just the service lacked. Its good to know they are open on Saturdays for lunch - It helps people that are not available on weekdays to try the lunch special offerings.

Service was spectacular!! Atmosphere was nice with small shop appeal. I ordered the fried shrimp with rice - Recommend!!! Definitely will be back.

Rating: 3.5 stars but I rounded up to 4. Sushi Tomi is a restaurant I've gone to for at least a little over a decade and it's been pretty consistent. It offers a lot of traditional Japanese items on their menu. I stopped off at lunch time with my family. The menu has changed over the years, but I always loved their grilled mackerel. My sister got the chirashi bowl and my nephew ordered the pork cutlet. We had the sushi roll combination for appetizer. We also got the miso soup and side salad. Maybe the chefs were having an off day. For me, I wasn't impressed with the grilled mackerel. It was a little dry and not flavorful. I ordered ponzu sauce on the side and it didn't help much. The sushi rolls were still good and my nephew enjoyed the pork cutlets. The chirashi was also nothing special but the fish was fresh. The miso soup was average and slightly bland. The dressing isn't my favorite as it's heavy on the vinegar and doesn't have the creamy ginger taste I'm used to. Although it wasn't my best experience that day, I'll still come back and try something else next time. I like to support authentic Japanese homestyle cuisine. The seating is limited since the space is small but they have a quick turnaround. A lot of Japanese customers so you know it's authentic. The servers are friendly and nice. Also, an added bonus, it has those fancy heated toilets with some extras in the women's restroom! Plenty of parking since it's in a shopping center space.

Love this sushi place. Usually come here for dinner but decided to do lunch here. We arrived at 12:30 and there was no wait. They have a sushi lunch special that was well priced. We had the lunch sushi and the lunch combo - shrimp tempura, chicken teriyaki came with soup, salad, crab or California roll and rice. The quality of the food was great. The sushi was fresh. Service was a little slow. Another local hangout as the waitress seems to know the regulars.

Sushi Tomi is one of my favorite local spots in Orlando. It is a family owned place on South Orange Blossom Trail that serves fresh fish and a great mix of classic and exotic selections. The quality is always reliable and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. Every time I visit Orlando I make it a point to stop here. The sushi is fresh, the service is friendly, and the entire experience feels like a true neighborhood gem.

Another awesome lunch at Sushi Tomi; always friendly caring service (thanks Emoki (?)). The Blue Fin Fatty Tuna was spectacular, as well as the Negitoro Roll. The ambiance always clean and enjoyable. From here to Tokyo!!

My bf and I came here as a recommendation from a friend. The workers are Japanese, so maybe it makes the sushi more authentic? It was clean and spacious, and we were seated right away on a week night. Our waitress told me the katsudon and tonkatsu ramen were popular among the younger crowd, so I tried the ramen. I enjoyed the variety of toppings like the traditional soft boiled egg, braised pork, and others. Noodles were a respectable firmness. BUT the sushi is what stands out! Flavorful and fresh. My bf got the unagi and tuna avocado rolls. I didn't get a picture of it, but if you can, I'd recommend the negihama roll. It's scallion and yellowtail. I really enjoyed it because the scallion adds enough flavor that you don't need any sauce.

Wow. A Japanese restaurant that serves a full selection of real Japanese dishes, served by Japanese Sushi Chefs. The temperature, cut and flavor of the sashimi was spot on. Server staff friendly and efficient. Ambiance Japanese-esq

This place is still one of my favorite sushi places. No frills, simply good sushi and authentic Japanese food. I think people are catching on because this tiny spot was bustling the last time I went. Service is always so friendly and accommodating.

    Eel Bowl. Almost in Tokyo.
    Denise P.

Just about a year ago I had this in Tokyo. It took me this long to find this Eel Bowl. This bowl was so so good. The service is fast and everything came out hot and freshly made. Yes I do have to drive a bit over an hour but it was that good, I WILL come back. There are other dishes I have had in Japan there are on the menu. Can't wait to see if they're up to Japan standards.

My favorites were the mac and cheese, prime rib, shrimp (they were HUGE), crab legs, and the tableside cinnamon bun dessert -- honestly worth the trip just for that. My only downside was that the oysters didn't taste very fresh. Overall, the ambiance was beautiful and it's a perfect brunch spot for a date or a family outing. The salmon was a large cut and served over a creamy risotto and was my favorite of the evening. It was delicious. Upon entry, there was no one to greet us. We headed to the register where they had a bunch of menus and pictures. While we were looking, the lady came out from the back with food items for someone who was already seated. Everything looked good. There was a guy waiting for his order to go, another guy waiting to eat by himself, and another lady also waiting to eat by herself. There was some interview going on between two guys- sounded like it was about the restaurant as I heard them talking about kimchi fried rice. It sounded so good, I ordered that with shrimp. Mom had the bento box lunch. We asked for two cups for water, which she said she would bring to us. We sat for awhile, and saw the others and the to go person get their food. The water cups did not come until after she brought us our food. Maybe that's the way they do it? Anyhow- our food was out in a reasonable time and everything was delicious. I tried some of mom's beef bento box- she got the bulgogi beef and we were both a little shocked that it was ground beef and not thin slices, but the flavor was spot on. My mom did not finish her lunch and I had a small portion of rice left. When I asked for one to go box- the lady almost seemed upset that I didn't want two! She asked me what about my leftovers? To which I said my mom was taking everything in one box. lol. We don't like to waste and I wasn't going to toss mine but it seemed silly to get another box for the little bit of rice I had. So we put it all in one. We paid at the register and took our box. There are many more items on the menu I'd like to try. My mom was pretty impressed with the place. It's nothing to look at, really, but the food is good and she will probably bring her friends here for lunch.
