The word Kappo represents the counter, interactive style sushi bar, relatively small so that it can be intimidated. Kappa Tsan founded by chef Tsan and chef Kíhimotto early thí year, ofers a pềct blend between Japanesevand Tauwanese cúiines. Eveey bite gives you a nice surprise wondering what are in the ingredients. We came to celebrate ourvson's birthday, and I mentioned it in my Open Table. We took the only 6 top, and a greeting card signed by the entire staff was on the reserved table. We got seated right away. The choice between still or sparkling water is nice. I like the wooden spoon and their chopsticks, which have both ends pointed, making sharing easy. Attention to details seems to be the theme. The contemporary background music creates a good mood. Deemed lighting adds romantic to the ambiance. Our server, Tìmmy, a graduate from UCF, is very professional and menu knowledgeable. We asked him about the sake, and he explained and assisted the birthday young man to pick the floral flavored chilled that went very well with the food. By the way, they only serve cold sake. They have set nenus called pairings, but we chose to explore with a la carte. We started with Nigrini rolls, and other handcrafted dishes such as Tuna on Tuna, Truffle Salmon, Tuna Carpaccio, and Miso Salmon, the clams in basil, cucumbercsalad, Taiwanese cabbage. for apetizers. We liked both Claypot items, but Tình recommended trying one first, so we selected the crab Claypot The sushi rice and the perfect marinating make this rice dish ready to go with no further sauces and delicious. We ended up ordering the second, which is Beef and mushroom, too. We also tried the oysters, which came from British Columia, smaller but tasty. The Pear Crudo looks and tastes great. I must say it's not a place to eat daily, but I highly recommend for special occasions for small groups. Kappo means counter sushi bar, so next visit, I will plan to go with smaller group and sit at the counter, talking to the chefs and staff. I like the teamwork among the diningroom staff, which is a great kudos knowing it is a chef's driven concept. They help each other. While Tình was clearing our table, the host came by with another empty tray then took the other full tray for him, which I really admire the gesture. Real, practical teamwork. Too full for desserts. We save it for next time. We had a wonderful time.

Possibly the best sushi place I've had in the US. I was definitely looking forward to trying it after seeing all the great reviews, but experiencing it was on a completely different level. every single thing we tried was absolutely amazing. My family, who are not adventurous eaters, raved about our meal all the way home. Started with cucumber salad, and Taiwanese cabbage, then tried crab, croquette, duck, miso cod. A variety of sushi, tempura, and crab clay pot. My only regret is not coming with more than four other people because we weren't able to try every single item on the menu. Service was also excellent. They were able to accommodate and welcome my two-year-old, which is very appreciated. I'm not a local - but I cannot wait to come to Orlando to eat here again

Amazing place! Had reservations for when they opened. Staff was friendly and informative. The flavors were phenomenal! Loved the cabbage, had a nice heat. Mushroom rice was also light and flavorful. Tuna was so tasty. Would highly recommend. Bathrooms were clean and had changing tables. Would be back!

Kappo Tsan was delicious! We went with a group and shared plates and loved our experience! The highlight were the raw tasting, could have gotten the tuna carpaccio or crudo as my meal. SO GOOD , the spicy garlic edamame was also some of the best I've ever had. All the fish was such high quality and delicious. My favorite roll was the salmon truffle. The cod was a little over cooked and probably the only thing I wouldn't get again! Excited to have another great sushi spot in the mix and to go back to try their omakase

I went during happy hour and it was absolutely worth it. The salmon hand roll with truffle sounded a little questionable at first, but the flavors actually worked really well together and ended up being one of my favorites. The 5-piece nigiri was also a great value -- everything tasted fresh and high quality. The oyster was very fresh, but personally I didn't think it was worth it compared to the other items. Service was excellent, and it was a nice touch that Chef David came over to our table to say hello. The space is small with limited seating, but the experience and food make it worth a visit, especially during happy hour.

Kappo Tsan is a lovely restaurant with fabulous food. We ordered the Taiwanese cabbage, Chawanmushi, and a 10 piece nigiri moriawase . All were delicious. The fish were so fresh they melted in my mouth. The chawanmushi was so good I'll be dreaming about it tonight. I have not had chawanmushi since Hanamizuki closed and I was delighted that Kappo Tsan is continuing to have it on the menu. Our server Nicole was wonderful. The minute we looked her way she would come to our table to see if we wanted anything.i I can't wait to go back there and try some other menu items.

Got to see Chef David in action at his new place!! this was a Perfect date night spot! Got reservations for valentines weekend and was seated all the way at the end, close to the bathroom but it was still kinda intimate! Plenty of parking spot! We ordered the Kappo Tasting 5-Course Chawanmushi, Crudo, Nigiri or Sashimi 5 pcs, Tempura, & A5 wagyu , $120 Taiwanese Cabbage spicy tobanjan soy, crispy garlic & shallot $7. My favorite: Crudo* shiromi, onion miso jam, grilled pear vinaigrette $18 and the Oyster 1/2 dozen* ponzu, ikura, cucumber $25. Crab Croquette taro cream, yuzu mayo $12 Donabe (Creekstone short-rib & mushroom) shiro dashi, napa cabbage, carrots, gobo, shirataki $32 Norigami Nigiri 10pc. Chef's selection, fresh wasabi, house soy, assorted topping for $60 Everything was delicious and up to par! I definitely recommend coming here for any occasion.

In recent years, Orlando has been blessed with so many omakase restaurants that I'd be surprised if it isn't among the top locations nationally or even internationally for this refined form of dining. There are stellar, Michelin-deserving entries on the list that I've already enjoyed, but I think this latest one may be the greatest of them all. Kappo Tsan's space is relatively small, and it isn't exclusively omakase. There is a sushi bar where you can indulge in their nine-course kaiseki-style dining, but there are also tables where you can order a la carte. Everything from the ingredients to the recipes to the skillful work of the chefs behind the counter is as great as I have seen anywhere. We had the nine-course kaiseki-style omakase, and we're quite awed by every single course, so much so that it is hard to pick a favorite. The menu changes seasonally and, in fact, every two weeks, according to Chef David, because that's how the season changes are calculated in Japan. So I'll just share the phenomenal menu we had and let you enjoy the pictures, as I'm sure your experience will be different but equally stellar. Service was definitely Michelin quality from all the servers and the sommelier. There's a thoughtful wine list with a delightful Rosé Grand Cru Champagne if you're looking for the perfect match for this nine-course feast. I do need to call out one dessert, because although neither my wife nor I are particularly dessert people, this was one of the most delightful, fun, and refreshing that I've ever had. Based on fluffy, light Taiwanese-style shaved ice, it was as delightful to eat as it was to watch Chef David making it.

We visited Kappo Tsan for dinner after hearing that Chef David Tsan opened this new concept, and as loyal customers of his at Norigami in Winter Garden, we had high expectations. He absolutely exceeded them. Kappo Tsan is truly on another level. The restaurant has an intimate vibe with dimmed lighting, making it perfect for a date night. You can choose between countertop seating or traditional table seating. I especially loved the open-concept kitchen, watching the chefs prepare each dish from almost anywhere in the restaurant adds such a special and authentic touch. The space is small, yet warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. The food was absolutely amazing, incredibly fresh sushi paired with innovative creations that showcase the chef's unique touch. There are multiple tasting options available, as well as à la carte selections, which makes it fun to mix and match different dishes. Our personal favorites were the chawanmushi, tuna carpaccio, and the 10-piece Norigami Nigiri. Everything tasted fresh, beautifully plated, and perfectly balanced in flavor. Of course, we paired our meal with sake, which complemented the dishes wonderfully. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall exceptional experience. We will definitely be back!

Another exquisite restaurant by Chef David Tsan, where Japanese and Taiwanese flavors come together effortlessly. The menu is thoughtful and beautifully executed, perfect whether you're stopping in for a few bites or committing to the nine course, chef-selected journey. Add Ben, the house sommelier, for seamless sake and wine pairings, and the experience truly shines. Highlights for me were the caramelized cabbage, king salmon sushi, and shima aji. This is the kind of meal you rearrange your week for.

I had to try Kappo because I love Norigami in Winter Garden, and this place did not disappoint. The restaurant is small, so definitely make a reservation, but the intimate setting is part of the charm. You get a front-row view of the chefs preparing each dish right in front of you, which makes the whole experience feel special and immersive. The menu is set up tapas-style, which made it easy (and fun) to try a little bit of everything. We ordered the crudo--my absolute favorite of the night--along with the pork belly, tuna carpaccio, short ribs, and of course the chef-selected Norigami. Every dish was incredibly fresh and surprisingly reasonable compared to other à la carte sushi spots. The staff was super knowledgeable, attentive, and added to the overall experience. It ended up being a wonderful date night, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.

I was able to get early seating and enjoyed the experience First off, love that there is accessible parking, since they share a lot with other businesses. One less thing to worry about before enjoying dinner. The space is tasteful and leans into the Japandi vibes. As for the food, my favorites are what you see, the Chicken karaage, Kobucha rice porridge and the selection of Nigiri. Service was great, we weren't in a rush and food came out timely. David's innovative expertise deserves the brick and mortar he's wanted. Congrats!

Kappo Tsan is great new spot in O-Town West. We stopped by for their New happy hour and tried a hunch of dishes on the Happy Hour and the regular menu. I definitely recommend the Spicy Tuna Roll, Pork Belly, and Tofu!

Apparently Libra just assumed the bohemian Yelp page because it has my review and pics from…read morebohemian. Anyways- we went for a birthday dinner and easily got a table for three of us. The place maybe had two other tables but they got a few more as the evening went by. Our server was Adele, she was great. We started with the tuna and shared that across the table- nice wonton crips, a lot of good sized tuna and some stringy carrots that made it a little difficult to scoop. I had a cocktail (Dover shores- some gin with passion fruit, was good) and the ladies had wine. Emily's wine wasn't good; sounded like it was spoiled? She said it tasted like vinegar. So I asked Adele to just swap it out with something else, and she did. The new glass of wine was much better. We all went with the magical dining menu. They had the short rib and I had the noodles w shrimp. All the dishes were good. For the apps we had the she crab soup- too sweet for me, the salad- standard fare, and the pork belly which was the standout item. Good portion and crispy! Desserts were not typical- some version of a key lime pie which came like ice cream in a cone, some version of a cheesecake which they said had a strange texture and not too sweet. Despite the comments, they ate their whole desserts and I took mine home for the hubs, since I didn't care for any of them. I had the parramore cocktail instead- very good. They have revamped the whole menu. I think they will be ok. Parking is $15 for 3 hours of valet. There is a garage across Orange for $16 as long as you want. Dress is business casual or better for dinner.

I had several sake shots during happy hour. And those were delicious! Highly recommend the mango and the coconut. I ordered the dragon roll with tuna, again, nothing special. But there was nothing wrong with it. It was just ordinary. Unfortunately we went on a day where the NBA was playing and there was only one person working the bar and serving all the tables. The slow service was definitely not her fault. And she was super nice about it. If I was in the area I probably would only if we were drinking because the sake shots were really good.

Upon entry, there was no one to greet us. We headed to the register where they had a bunch of menus and pictures. While we were looking, the lady came out from the back with food items for someone who was already seated. Everything looked good. There was a guy waiting for his order to go, another guy waiting to eat by himself, and another lady also waiting to eat by herself. There was some interview going on between two guys- sounded like it was about the restaurant as I heard them talking about kimchi fried rice. It sounded so good, I ordered that with shrimp. Mom had the bento box lunch. We asked for two cups for water, which she said she would bring to us. We sat for awhile, and saw the others and the to go person get their food. The water cups did not come until after she brought us our food. Maybe that's the way they do it? Anyhow- our food was out in a reasonable time and everything was delicious. I tried some of mom's beef bento box- she got the bulgogi beef and we were both a little shocked that it was ground beef and not thin slices, but the flavor was spot on. My mom did not finish her lunch and I had a small portion of rice left. When I asked for one to go box- the lady almost seemed upset that I didn't want two! She asked me what about my leftovers? To which I said my mom was taking everything in one box. lol. We don't like to waste and I wasn't going to toss mine but it seemed silly to get another box for the little bit of rice I had. So we put it all in one. We paid at the register and took our box. There are many more items on the menu I'd like to try. My mom was pretty impressed with the place. It's nothing to look at, really, but the food is good and she will probably bring her friends here for lunch.
