Got a table for three right away on a weekday around 11:40am. It did slowly fill up afterwards. Ordering is done through QR code now but you can still request for traditional paper menus if needed. We got an order of 16pcs dry wings and fresh roll to start. The chicken wings now come in different sizes. The wings are amazing as always and I love the lemony dipping sauce. There are wings with tips and mini drumsticks. The fresh rice paper rolls were quite standard. Dipping sauce was good. For the main, I got my usual rare beef and beef ball with dry noodle. I think they do tend to give you more noodles if you get the dry noodles versus the fresh rice noodles. My bowl had a nice ratio of meat to noodles. The broth has depth and flavour. Nam2 is definitely one of my go-to places for pho. read more

First time here from Google search of this location with positive reviews. Parking - lots of parking available Ambience - nice decor and lit areas with some modern chairs at tables. Food - tried a few dishes. Chicken wings - the winner with great flavour. Crispy, salt, sweet and garlic taste. Must get! Small is 5 pcs, medium is 10 pcs and large is 12 pcs which is what we got. Bun Riêu - was ok. Did not have a lot of flavour. Chicken on rice - good portions size, chicken was moist and on point. Smoked rib - was tender and meat came off the bone. Great flavour for the rib. Pork vermicelli - like other places and can't go wrong. Grilled pork was good with the deep fried roll. Beef stew - great flavour, not too salty and tender stew that broke apart easily when eaten. Service - the experience that was disappointing. Not sure if there was less staffing but saw 3 mainly servicing the whole restaurant that was pretty busy. Table given with menu with a paper and pen to write down our order for the server to pick up to put in. We were a group of 7 and our food came in different times. The smoked rib came first but the pho with soup came last. Asking for additional service, had to go look for someone to assist including the bill to pay then go to the front to pay with a line up or a take out container to take remaining food home. Guys. I am summer-obsessed with this place. With the days getting hotter & hotter, I'm finding myself craving more natural & refreshing foods. With that said, I love ordering the bun vermicelli here ($14). They have beef/pork/chicken options. Each bowl is packed with veggies and complete with a spring roll. All the meats are marinated & grilled to perfection. The flavour packs a punch! I like that they call them "vermicelli salad bowls" hehe. So much healthier. The next item I like to treat myself to is the Banh Xeo pancake ($18), a nice share platter. There are giant posters of it all over the place. It's basically an egg pancake, accompanied with pork belly, bean sprouts and herbs, and sweet fish sauce. They bring you the platter, then you diy. Nam 2 is a very popular Vietnamese restaurant around this area. There is usually some wait if you come on weekends and during popular times. They used to do a virtual waitlist which was nice, but has gone back to the old fashion pen & paper waitlist (which is not ideal when you're waiting with a baby). So you often see people crowding around the entrance waiting. However, the food is delicious with the wings being a standout. The decor is a touch whimsical and fun. I would recommend going during at off peak times to avoid a wait. read more

The hostess behind the cash took us to our table, and got us hot tea while we went through our menu. To order you just need to take a pic of the QR code on your table and you can order whatever you heart desires! Upon walking, you can see the beautiful decor around the restaurant. It gives you modern Vietnamese vibes and I'm loving it. I've had my fair share of Vietnamese food as I am half Chinese/Vietnamese and mr. Tran is full Vietnamese. We ordered Vietnamese coffee, Vietnamese tapioca dumpling (banh bot loc), Vietnamese pancake (banh xeo), Summer rolls (goi cuon), deep fried spring rolls (cha gio) and rice with lemon grass chicken plate. Food came out within 10 minutes. Food was not bad, I mean I had better in my moms area down on the west end, but for Markham I guess it was good. The banh xeo stood out the most as the batter was crispy and had good coconut milk flavour, it would be better if they put more shrimp and pork in the filling though. Summer rolls were pretty decent compared to ALOT of Vietnamese establishments. Their pork was juicy and not dry like most places. Everything else was okay. Bad service with mediocre food. We got spring rolls and pad thai during our visit and we did not have a good experience. The pad thai was too sour and I found a piece of rock in the spring rolls. We told the waiter about the rock and the waiter just took away our dish without saying anything (no apologies whatsoever). After a few minutes, they brought back a new dish of spring rolls. I was disappointed about how little they cared about having foreign substances in their food and barely acknowledged it. All they did was bring back a new dish which felt like they just wanted to cover it up. However, they didn't say anything about bringing a new dish or making sure this type of thing never happens again. Came in on a Saturday before the crowds. Pro Tip - you can get yourself in the waitlist through Yelp before even heading out! The restaurant has a nice vibe. We were seated in the little room next to the door on the left and it almost felt like we were sitting at a decorated wedding party. Lots of greenery and fairytale vibes. We ordered the dumplings, fried spring rolls, bun Bo hue and a smoked beef rib pho. The dumplings (banh bot loc) were very chewy and flavourful. The outer wrap is like a chewy tapioca - just be aware there's more wrap than there's filling. Filling is a pork and shrimp mixture. Very tasty and not very much of it. The spring rolls were decent. Well fried where it didn't feel too oily and it had a nice crunch to it. Decent amount of fillings. Bun Bo Hue had a nice variety of toppings with a flavourful broth. The portion isn't very much but it was just right for us. The beef rib pho was a bit underwhelming as the bowl was literally noodles with one rib in it. The meat was very good though but I almost wish there was a bit more to it? They also ran out of fresh noodles by about 6:30pm on the Saturday which was surprising as I was sure more people were going to be disappointed. There are definitely a few must-order dishes here. The 48 hour smoked brisket pho, the Bun Rieu Cua w/ soft shell crab and the dry chicken wings. I think it's very good value considering the time and work that goes into these two dishes. Bun rieu has a deliciously authentic shrimpy tomato broth with plenty of toppings with tofu puff, cha lua, pork blood, crab paste patty, and of course you can never go wrong with deep fried soft shell crab. 48 hour smoked brisket pho was simple and complex at the same time. It has strong smokey aroma, tender, and good balance between fat and meat. The broth was a bit strong on the star anise imo but not to the point that it was upsetting. An order of wings come with 5 pieces and are super crispy, seasoned and cooked perfectly with some scallions and onions and paired with a lime sauce. I would skip the lemongrass meat + rice dishes. The lemongrass marinade isn't very pronounced and the food wasn't quite hot enough. They're busy so staff might not be as attentive. Ate here today with my family for dinner for the first time while visiting and leaving Toronto tomorrow. I got the pork chop and grilled chicken over rice and then we all got different dishes to try and eat as a family together that it all had tasted super good and delicious. The Bun Rieu soup had good flavour, but on the milder side compared to some other ones I've tried. The fried soft-shell crab comes on the side, and is tasty, but some pieces were a little wet tasting. Also ordered an Iced Viet Coffee, which was good and strong, but also a little small and pricey. I've since gone as well for takeout, and the smoked brisket pho is interesting. Overall, the food is pretty good. Finally went to try Nam 2 tonight with my hubby. An acquaintance told me to try their pork and shrimp clear dumpling as an appetizer then the smoked brisket pho. I didn't really enjoy the dumplings as it was a bit too chewy & difficult to break down. The stuff inside the dumpling was nice though. The smoked brisket had a good flavor but I wish it was more fatty. Most of it was too lean for me so it was a bit dry. I also found it too salty and same with my pho broth. Have come here twice now and both times have been fantastic! They have a QR code for your table, so that you do not have to call a server to order something. The only time the server comes around is to provide you with the food or let you know if something is out of stock. So you order through the website that the QR code takes you through, and each person at the table can order using their own phone... Which also makes handling the bill later much easier. We went on a weekday for lunch and there was lots of seating but still quite busy. We ordered a few dishes to try: Chicken Wings - Really enjoyed the chicken wings. They were fried and topped with lots of garlic and onions so beware if you don't love garlic. It was good and would definitely order this again. Bun Thit Nuong - I always try pork and spring roll vermicelli at a lot of restaurants. This was okay, I felt the pork was a bit too fatty for me and also dry. Maybe an off day but I probably wouldn't order this again. I also ordered it for take out a second time and it wasn't anything special. Bun Rieu - Had this with soft shell crab both once at the restaurant and for take out. Really loved this. Came here around 6pm on a Sunday. It was extremely busy. No one really greeted us or took our names/numbers for waiting list. We had to go up to a staff member and ask if they had seating on the patio for us. Luckily they did and we were seated within 10mins. Ordering was easy through a QR code linked to our table. Food arrived pretty quickly. We ordered the shrimp and pork fresh rolls and the pho special (pho dac biet). It tasted decent, but wasn't anything spectacular. There was a wasp in one of our soups. Not really their fault as it is wasp season, but still not great to almost eat one. They did gave us another pho that arrived quickly. The portions are good. Their large is actually a large, unlike some other pho places. I wouldn't be in a hurry to come back here, but it is one of the few pho places with a patio. So I would for that reason. I finally decided to try this place out after hearing raving reviews about the chicken wings. Upon arrival, we were given the option to sit inside or the patio. We chose inside, which has 2 floors of seating. The restaurant itself is spacious and I saw that it also accommodates to large parties as well. You scan a QR code specifically for the table that you're sitting at, enter your name, phone number, and that is how you view and order your food. This system was cool and it was contactless. I ordered the Dry Wings ($10.50/5 pieces). These wings were really good. Crispy and full of flavour! I loved the subtle mix between sweetness and the garlic flavour. I also ordered the Com Tam Ca Ri Bo (curry beef brisket, $12.90 + side of bread $1.50). The curry was okay, wasn't the biggest fan of the curry sauce, but the beef brisket was good. The restaurant got a bit busy towards the end of my visit so the service was a bit slow, but all interactions with staff were good. I can see that this spot definitely gets busy during dinner time. My most recent visit to the GTA made me notice many restaurants are adapting Yelp for their wait line system. I put myself and my dad in the waiting line, and on a Tuesday at 7pm it took about 20 minutes for our seat. Not too bad and definitely showed how popular this place is. When I went to the original Nam my go to was the beef stew rice noodle soup, so I decided to stick with the same thing here. The smoked brisket pho looked interesting, but I guess that's something for next time! The noodle soup is as good as the original Nam. I find Nam does beef stew the best out of all the pho places I've been to in Markham (I haven't tried The Pho yet. Metro is probably 2nd). I got the phnom penh noodles in takeout and it was very plain and flavourless. There were hardly any toppings in it too. I sampled my friend's butter beef after I told her she should get it... we both didn't really like the dish. The wings were pretty good, it was everyone's favourite. When I came to dine in, I got the BBH which was pretty good. I would get this dish at Nam 2 again. Read this on someone's instagram post and the smoked and braised short ribs intrigued me to drive across town to give it a try. Also the special drink - Che Suong Sa - sadly not available even at 11:30 in the morning on a Saturday Note - this place only accept debit and cash. [yelp probably has a place to put that info but just easier if I put it here] We were warned of a lineup so came 30 min after they open. Good call. Tried all the items suggested at the other post: 1. Dry rub chicken wings 2. Beef stew 3. Butter beef 4. Garlic stir fry vegetables 5. Braised and smoked short ribs Pho (the "duel") [yes we have our fill on beef just for the week] #1-4 lives up to their race reviews. Highly recommended. And this hot sauce they have - be warned of its potency #5 is a a tough one to review. It's a lot of meet for the money so good value and it's definitely a shareable dish (3+). With the fat that isuall come with this cut it's a bit much IMHO. For those who's seen my other reviews, the soup base for the pho need to be good to get 5 stars no matter what. We've been to this restaurant twice now and overall, the food isn't bad. Make sure to use the waitlist option in Yelp to save yourself some time in waiting for a table. Their dry garlic wings are pretty delicious, we ordered that each time we came. The first time, we also ordered the dry phnom penh noodles and the bun bo hue. The bun bo hue had a good broth and came with a good amount of toppings too. My partner, who is Viet, said it tasted pretty authentic. The dry phnom pen noodles were ok. I found it lacked in flavour a bit and was mostly noodles with very little meat. The soup that it came with tasted good though and made me wish that I had ordered the soup version. The 2nd visit we ordered the original pho, and again, the broth and amount of topping it came with was great. We also got the Bun Rieu which turned out disappointing. The broth didn't have any crab flavour at all. The noodles come with a side of soft shell crab which was nice. For me, it wasn't worth it. Both times their specialty noodles were only so-so. I came here on Tuesday afternoon at 12 (they open at 11am) I called in advance to ask if they take reservation and if they were busy for a table of 2. They don't take reservations but he said it's not busy. After we sat down and ordered, 3-4 other tables sat after us and they all got their food before me. Including the table next to mine. I soon realized that they gave my order to the table next to mine. Not only did they mess my order up and I had to wait for 30mins (this type of dish should've came first), once I got it I also immediately saw that it was pork and not beef (like the order at the table beside mine) and I asked twice to confirm if it's beef and he insisted it was. After mixing the vermicelli, I knew it wasn't beef... it was blatantly obvious. We flagged down another server who apologized and gave me a free Thai iced tea. Finally when my order arrived at 12:42pm but they forgot my spring rolls. By the time my order came in, the pho was warm. Ive been to this location at least over 6 times and I've never been this disappointed before. I might as well would've rather ate the pork because the beef was tough and flavourless. I find it hard to give Vietnamese restaurants 5 stars but Nam 2 is definitely part of my top 3 list for Vietnamese cuisine. When all tables are occupied, you can leave your name and number on a clipboard in the front. For a Thursday evening, our wait was around 15~ minutes. When you sit down and scan the QR code, you can actually order your food from the app. It's a bit confusing to utilize at first but someone did come back to confirm the order. Shareable: fish sauce chicken wings (6 pieces) and banh xeo for the table. Banh xeo was a lot for two people, would recommend it for bigger groups. Ordered takeout here for lunch, the food was ready pretty quickly. - Phnom penh dry noodles: You can choose from different types of noodles, I opted for the egg noodles. It's loaded with hella toppings and garnishes - pork belly, overcooked shrimp, and dry minced pork. It's p heavy on the garlic and crispy shallots so prepare for stank breath afterwards. Aside from the overcooked proteins, taste-wise it was pretty good. Also comes with a bowl of pork broth. - Chicken wings with special sauce: Really good! They were made super fresh so they were still hot and crispy when we got home. It's like a sweet sauce with garlic. OVERALL: Great Vietnamese option overall and one of the best in the area. Tasty food, fair quantity and nice restaurant. I'm a regular here! VENUE: Located in the New Kennedy plaza, you won't miss Nam 2. They've definitely put effort into the design of the restaurant relative to other Vietnamese joints to make it trendy and comfortable. With Covid19 it's definitely not been enjoyed enough. FOOD: I'm addicted to their Pho, Bun Bo Hue and Chicken Wings. Great broth, good meat quality and decent portions. They also offer fresh and dry noodle options! SERVICE: Met my expectations, of well ... Not the best service. Curt and to the point, but I'd say normal for what it is. Been here on several occasions Recently on a Monday lunch with my gal pals, New introduction for them They absolutely LOVED it!!! Of course I already knew they would!! We started with the famous wings with lime dip & fresh rolls Then the beautiful mango salad mountain Followed with prime beef pho with a very flavourful broth & then pork vermicelli which had a great balance of greens, herbs & bean sprouts We shared all the food, everybody was so happy!! I am giving a 4 star for my recent visit is just because I didn't liked the In-house Special Brisket Pho and wait time is a bit long ( over 30 mins for the food) Chicken wings are done very well, crispy and not too greasy. The lime sauce really enhance the flavour of the chicken wings. A great deal for the Tomato soup based noodle that comes with a whole sofft shell crab. Very tasty tomato soup, lots of flavours, you don't need to add any additional sauce to eat with that. Soft shell crab is a bonus and tasty when you dunk into the soup. I didn't like the In House Special Brisket Pho. It's just like having leftover roast beef with a bowl of soup noodles. It's not matching. read more

Gotta say, their crispy fried chicken wings are downright addictive. Something about that crunchy first bite of the wings was filled with so much intense flavour. Sweet, salty, and sour all-in-one. Wings cannot ever be this tasty, I thought to myself in disbelief, while hunting around my takeout box in the hope of unearthing one extra chicken wing for good measure. It's undeniably one of the tastiest, most savoury snacks. Oh so good that sadly I did not have the foresight to pull the wings away long enough to snap a photo of them for this review. Lucky for me, I took a photo of my wings the last time I was here, well before devouring another order. So I will post the photos of the other dishes ordered as a reference.
