I was referred to this shop and told that Cece is amazing at pedicures. I was warned about the colorful patrons so I was prepared for anything. Let me start by saying California nail techs are lazy when it comes to scrubbing the soles and heels so my expectations were low. I've never seen such lazy filing of the bottom of the feet... they offer callous remover when all they need is a good foot file... anyway...Moving on, this place is old, dirty, and they need to use liners in their foot tubs. As I was walking out, a lady showed me her nails and asked my opinion, they were unevenly polished and the excess polish had not been cleaned from around her cuticles. Much like the nails in the pictures attached to this page. I heard this shop won a hoodie award but I swear they need to take a trip to Georgia to The Nail Shop in Decatur GA to learn how to run a business and to learn how to correctly provide nail services. I just went for the 1st time this Saturday and my OCD won't let me come back. It was jam packed but my friend and I got helped right away. My nail lady had a cold and kept coughing in my face. Then she started sneezing and blowing her nose. Nastily touching my hands without even using hand sanitizer. She seemed nice but eww I did not want a free cold. The end results of the nails pretty much sealed the deal. All of my nails had big gaps without polish after it cured :( I've gotten gels elsewhere and only had like 2 nails with gaps but never all of them. Glad it was cheap but come on. read more

TERRIBLE . I got there as soon as they opened . It was already packed which I thought was a good sign . I am finally attended by a man who can't understand a word in saying and I couldn't understand a word he said . I just went in for a fill & asked for them to be trimmed . NO . He said he wouldn't trim them & the shape was horrific . He left acrylic all over my fingers and had him clean them up . But the photos will show the final product . Today I needed to get my nails done are usually go to Lindas nails I've been going there for 17 years with no problems. I decided to go to nails on LA because I had a funeral that I wanted to be ready for on time and since I had not made an appointment and I could wait.I was told the fastest route would be to go to this nail shop. I walk in everything seems fine everybody is in such a rush to grab you and take you to the seat as soon as I get to my seat the nail technician gets ready to prep my nails he was not very friendly from the beginning but I am a very friendly person and I made small talk with him I introduced myself and asked him his name. He when I had to commence doing my nails once I got to a certain length he told me that the price for my nails who's going to be $30 including the three dollar charge of having them shaped coffin nails.When he told me the price I said wait is it $27 for a full set and he told me while the link you want is going to be that price and I said well go ahead and cut it down some because I need to be able to maneuver around and he told me don't worry I will fix it for you.Things seem to be going fine until I noticed some discrepancies in my notes as I'm overlooking my nails I noticed that he hasn't done a very good job of filing down the hump and bumps with the electric file or just filing it in general and the paint job was done very poorly I asked him several times to repair it he begins to give me an attitude and he went to Reluctantly repair the nail that I did not like to be honest I didn't like the way he did any of them but there were two or three nails in particular that we're done very poorly he told me that it was the color of nail polish that I had chosen and that's the way that it looks and that he's told me several times this and I am not listening so I was not going to except that and since I am paying my hard earned money I wanted it done a certain way mind you I said this all politely he began to speak in his language to another coworker I'm assuming it was about my request then then he goes ahead and tells me the next time you come here don't come to me because you don't know what I'm telling you I've been doing this a long time don't come to me and I told him don't worry I will not be coming back here ever again I will go ahead and post a picture of my nails that I got on Saturday afternoon about 1 PM I now know that my regular nail salon is the best salon in the world mainly the best salon in the area I have learned my lesson and I will never again go outside of my norm because at nails on LA quality is not important only the amount of nails you do a day and how quick you get them in and out it doesn't matter how good they look or if the customer is happy I also let the nail technician know that it's not the way you want it it's the way I want it because I have to be happy about this mind you I'm getting ready to go to the funeral I will no longer do any business with this establishment and I will not refer any friends or family to this place the nail technician that did my nails said his knee was fawn or faun he was very rude If you do not like your place of employment on the things you do for work you should seek other avenues for making money because clearly working with people is not for you I hope this company does better in the way they treat their customers I went ahead and attach some photos of how my nails we left looking when I left he did a very poor job and had no remorse that when he came to bring me my change he said are you happy now and patted me on my back is very unprofessional and I felt extremely uncomfortable if I could give this place zero stars I would read more

Look im not trying to knock it because of the location. I love going to Compton I believe in second chances so I went back to this business. Received the worst manicure ever!! She half heartedly did them so I had to guide her and correct her along the way to get half way decent nails as an out come. Will not be returning. This is my 2nd time going and honestly I loved the way my pointed nails turned out.But my left index finger is itching intensely in the cuticle area. I keep applying Purell Hand Sanitizer to take away the itchiness. I don't think they sanitize properly or at all.They reuse foot scrubbers. Although my eyelashes came out pretty she applied them from the palm of her left hand. Last Saturday was my second time going. When I sat in the chair, I began telling the guy how I wanted my nails. I came in for metallic nails the chic didn't know what she was doing AT ALL. The Sweetie that sits in the front had to get her to redo my nails annnd then had to show her exactly what to do. This is my first review and I felt so strongly to write a review because anyone who is even CONSIDERING coming to this place, needs to know the risk you are taking with your health. Now here's the whole story: I used to live in Lynwood (nearby city) and my sisters would come here all the time to get their eyebrows done. Even then, they would bring their own eyebrow razors because the shop would use the SAME razor on EVERYONE! (Uhh, can you say HIV? Or whatever else kind of disease that can be transmitted through blood? Ew!) About a month ago, I was visting my mom who still lived in the area, so I decided to stop in for a mani/pedi with my little girl just to be reminiscent of the times I had with my sisters. First off, the place is FILTHY! Crowded as always, no surprise there. I had my daughter get painted nails only. I was seated and there was no cleaning of the foot tub or disinfectant added, just water in a dirty tub I wish I had taken a picture of. I'm already grossed out at this point. I should've stopped there but I guess I wanted to see how far they would go. STUPID ME! She scrubs my feet with a worn dirty pumice! I look around at other peoples feet and am disgusted because this is the same scrub their using on people with these like crusty 'ol feet! I wanted to leave but I stayed. WHY?! WHY VIRGINIA?! WHYY?!!! She opens up her box of dirty, obviously unsterile tools. I could see nail dust on them still! And uses a DRILL to "smooth" or file my toes, which was absolutely unecessary because my toenails are NOT thick! The chick that was doing my nails, I couldn't understand her for the life of me. Sorry, but the communication made the design part difficult to relay therefore my toenails looked UGLY and unsatisfactory. I didnt want her to start over, I wanted to LEAVE, so I let her leave the design and she proceeded onto my nails which she failed at the first time, so I had her repaint them. I can cover my feet but not my hands you know. She didn't like that she had to do that of course. Anyway, finally finished, we leave and as soon as I'm home, I wash my feet immediately and vigirously in everything I had under the bathroom sink! Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, LISTERINE! Yes, LISTERINE, the mouthwash! I didn't care if my foot skin melted off because I felt as if I had dipped my feet in toxic ooze at that nail shop. A few weeks afterward I noticed my nails becoming brittle and breaking off easily. Which had NEVER happened before in my life! I was alarmed. Keep in my mind my nails ARE NOT thick but WERE very healthy and clear. I took my feet into the light outside and noticed the brittle weakness and COLOR! MY TOENAILS WERE YELLOW! OMG! They still are now! You can't imagine my mortification! :( I can't do anything about the infected nail, just prevent the rest of my new nail growing of be "FUNGIFIED". I'm taking Hair & Nails vitamins to boost the health of my beloved nails and I'm really hoping the over-the-counter medication takes care of it before I have to make an actual doctor's appointment for an antibiotic or something. I'm SO GLAD I washed my feet the way I did. Otherwise, my feet would probably be just as terribly affected. Absolutely disgusting, they do NOT sanitize anything. They re-use all foot scrubbers, clippers, files. They don't wash tubs, the floor is covered in all kinds of crap and there are roaches crawling everywhere..I mean everywhere ! It is extremely packed and so ghetto. Anyhoo, there is security on the property that i have seen a time or two but i've never feared for my safety going here and the technicians have always been nice and i have always got great reviews on my pedicures so i will go back and take friends. This place is horrible. Wish I had the option of not giving them any stars. First of all, the place is crowded all the time. Employees scattered all over the place. This is the only nail shop where you can walk in and see employees waxing and applying eyelashes on nail booths with all the nail debris flying all over the place, rather than having a designated room for it. It's so unsanitary. I went in to get a full set of gel acrylics. And even though I showed the guy a picture of exactly how I wanted my nails, he still went ahead and did what he thought was better (which wasn't anything near what I wanted). I told him I didn't want a design nor any rhinestones three times, but he still went ahead and applied them against my will. By the time I got home most of gel polish chipped off. I wanted my eyelashes and eyebrows done. So they sent me to a women by the name of HELEN! She was horrible. She messed up my eyebrows to the point where I'm growing them out. And then when she did my eyelashes she glued the eyelash to my upper eyelid skin. While taking off my eyelash she used a soultion that burned like hell. And left me in there to suffer with my eyes shut. And then while doing my eyelash she asked me to hold the container w. The eyelashes in there. And when I go to nail shops I am not suppose to lift a finger they are suppose to cater to your every need. So not only were my eyes red from burning and not only was a holding a mini fan to my eyelash I then had to hold the eyelash container. NO BUNEO! So at the end of this mess. She informed that it would be 15 for the eyelash (which I already knew) and then she said usually it would be five for the take off but she will charge me two bucks and told me to tip her two bucks. HOLD UP!REWIND! Yes HELEN at NAILS ON LA asked me to tip her. Here's my thing I tip I love tipping my sister use to be server I know all about tips. The price was 10 I thought that's not bad then they send me to a male amateur to do my nails. During the whole time he was shaking and nervous. As if he couldn't do nails. Went here yesterday with my mom, daughter, and niece. Worst place I've ever been to. My acrylic nails look like my 5 year old nephew did them! They are super thick and if you turn my nails to the side they look like it has a glob of acrylic on them! They have a sign outside that says $11.99 for full set but whey you go to pay its a whole different story! I asked for short and my daughters nails were medium and we both got a pedicure (which the sign outside also says free design) my daughter got a design on her toes and I walked out paying $80 seriously?
