I told her if I could get white instead but that still turned out bad. she then charges me $45 because she said I made her do double the work. The RACIST & PREDATORY experiences I endured here as a CHILD are UNACCEPTABLE. I've been told throughout my childhood here that I couldn't sit in (or to get out) of certain chairs or I couldn't have a certain color nail polish because "it's too dark." The icing on the cake is when I was a teenager. The owner's, Denise, 30+ year old son asked me predatory questions while doing my nails. He asked me "who's paying for this? Do you have a boyfriend? What school do you go to? How old are you?" My mother noticed the suspicious behavior and stood next to me. He looked her right in her face and raised his voice asking her, "DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM? I DONT GIVE A SHIT IF YOU DO GO THE FRONT DESK. GO HBE SOMEONE ELSE DO HER NAILS THEN AND GET THE FUCK OUT." This was the final straw for the both of us and resulted in this business losing LIFETIME customers! It was VERY inappropriate and OUT OF LINE for THE OWNER'S SON to think I was a naive, young, unprotected girl and attempt to prey on me... especially at a nail salon that attracts HOOKERS AND DRUG ADDICTS. YES, you read that correctly! For those who aren't familiar with Long Beach BLVD, it's always been known for prostitution, drugs and crime. The hookers that work those corners get their nails prepared there on a regular. Take your money ELSEWHERE! It used to very sterile and professional when I under the age of 8, but when I turned around 12 or 13, that's when the decline began. When I was last there, it was so DISGUSTING! The dust from drilled/shaven nails were piled up on each nail person's desk (they didn't sterilize between clients). This establishment has grown through out the years. The business is own and ran by husband and wife. Their daughter also runs the front desk at times. Very friendly and interesting staff. The staff is misunderstood as aggressive and rude at time because of the language barrier. But if you had difficulties speaking English many would think you are rude or aggressive but they are really not. If you wish to get nails, eyebrows, eyelashes done with a bit of entertainment, THIS IS THE LOCATION you want to come to. There's never a dull moment when I'm here. All kinds of personalities walk in here but the staff is what makes it fun and entertaining. Be prepared, the staff don't speak perfect English but we'll enough to communicate with you and keep you happy with their work. For my eyelashes and eyebrows, my girl Ann is the girl to go to. Nails, my girl is Stacey. My second choice for nails is Peter. Stacey is super friendly and talkative now Peter is serious and super quite. I currently live Lakewood and I always am willing to do the drive to Compton FOR MY nails, Eyebrows AND Lashes because I have yet to find their quality of work and their prices. Monday through Thursday they have specials. They take credit cards and cash. The location is always packed so be prepared to wait. I do have to admit the location does need a major renovation. It seems as its dirty but it's just the so much traffic that go through this establishment that I see how hard it is to maintain it clean at all times. My gal pal had hers done and they looked so glam, that I just had to try them. I have never made a worse decision in my life. Never mind all the details of cleanliness and courtesy , The woman simply didn't know what she was doing. She applied the lashes under my lash line, under my eyelid. Imagine flipping your eyelid up, and supergluing plastic lashes to the inside of your eye. the result was horrific: Christmas eve in the E.R, blurry, burning vision, application of eye ointments several times a day, numerous appointments with a specialist and cornea damage. I am dumped into a chair and an elderly women starts to do my feet-- quickly done and a cute pattern on my toes-- cool beans! Then I went and got my eye brows waxed-- I am SUPER PARANOID when it comes to things like this because it is so easy to screw them up... Kimmy did an awesome job and there was no swelling or breaking out afterwards. If you are getting a wax here ask for Kimmy or Helen (everyone else will **ck ur **it up). They also have some folks who do beautiful nails. So-- totally cost of my pedicure and wax: 25 dollars-- oh yes ladies.. Don't recommend this place at all. They're always crowded, and it's so loud in there that you can't even hear the person doing your nails asking what you want. They do a fast and sloppy job on acrylics and I ended up with a ton of acrylic stuck to my fingers that I had to pick of for the next 2 days (which also ruined the nails).
