I visited this salon a few days ago with my sisters, and I want to start with the positives before getting into my concerns. The salon itself looks beautiful -- very clean, neat, and well put together. However, my experience with the service was disappointing. When I walked in, the receptionist (Naomi) did not greet me. She saw me and walked away from the front desk -- I'm not sure if she realized I was there or not, but I ended up standing there for about 10 minutes. When she returned, she simply asked for my name and told me to wash my hands and pick a color. There was no "good morning" or welcoming attitude, and she seemed uninterested and disengaged. Even after I chose my color, she stayed on her phone while I waited to be seated. Once I was seated, Throughout my pedicure, several staff members were speaking loudly among themselves In spanish, which made the environment feel less relaxing and more unprofessional. What made the experience especially upsetting was that the technician working on me made comments about my feet smelling and about my legs being fat In Spanish to another technician, They both laughed, and mind you I could Understand it.. which I found extremely disrespectful and inappropriate. I was honestly shocked and didn't know how to respond in the moment. Overall, while the salon looks great, the customer service and professionalism I experienced were not acceptable. I have unfortunately had gel manicures here in the past that did not last me, like the polish completely peeled off in a day - went back to get it fixed and still peeled off. I went here with three friends to get pedicures before a wedding, and while everyone was very friendly and the salon was clean, our experience didn't quite meet our expectations for the price. One of us wasn't started until 35 minutes after our appointment time, and her pedicure was rushed through in about 15 minutes. For $60, it felt more like a quick polish change than a full pedicure. We also barely received any leg or foot massage, which is something we usually look forward to. Maybe that's not included in their pedicure, but no one explained if there were different options or upgrades available. I needed desperately to get my feet sandal ready and didn't have a current salon, so after reading Yelp reviews, I decided to try Nail Bar. I booked a basic pedi and since I had an upcoming business trip, I decided to try a set of nails for the first time. I was able to get an appointment on relatively short notice - note: a full deposit is required on major services. I struggled to find street parking, since it was right around 5, but I was able to park in the ramp right down the block. When I entered it was a little busy and the front desk seemed a little discombobulated. I was directed to the bench seats by the foot soaks and waited for someone to come. I had not had time to choose colors yet. After a few moments, the desk person finally told my technician I was waiting. Myesha did my services and she was great. She had a good touch on the pedicure and was quick. She made sure I got samples to choose colors and then made sure I got the right formula for each. We moved on to the nails. I was a first-timer, so she answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. Ultimately, I am very happy with my experience and services. I look forward to going back for a fill and polish change on my nails. Services seem in line with most other reasonable salons. I think I found a new regular place. Past night, I set my appointment for this morning. The receptionist was so kind. I'm not a big nails person so the terminology always gets lost on me. She booked me for the right service and confirmed the nail colors I needed were at the shop. I arrived roughly 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. The shop was extremely clean. I came in and washed my hands and picked my colors. The receptionist took note of the specific layering that I needed for the wedding. I got the No-Chip Pedicure and Spa treatment. I got to soak my feet in warm water for roughly 15 minutes. My nails were trimmed very evenly and it was a really enjoyable experience. The nails look so natural. I would love to come here again. Nails were not well-done. There were many inconsistencies in first set of acrylics (poor shaping, bubbles, uneven french tips, even hairs stuck in the nails, not like the photo I asked for. My skin was burning while they were buffing the nail because they weren't being careful. Then they put a gel extension on my nails rather than acrylics ( I was not told this would be different). I asked the nail stylist if there would be any acrylic on this nail and she responded with "no, I don't do acrylic". Same thing occurred with the "fixed nail, it's not shiny and it has fuzz and whatnot stuck in it. I want to start by saying I've probably left 1 negative review to each 100 positive I write. But this experience just left me frustrated. First I'll discuss the manicure itself. It was VERY light on services. No fingertip soak. No hand massage or thorough lotion application. The rest was basic and fine but my cuticles were left brittle and uneven unlike any manicure I've ever had. But most frustrating was the way they ran their business. This was for a bridal event. We made manicure appointments. Later added Pedicures and at that time asked if we needed to adjust the appointment time. Nope - all good. But when we arrived they didn't have us down for the pedis. Said they couldn't fit it in even for the bride. And most unacceptable - accepted zero blame for the mixup. They offered a repaint which we took but ended up being way overpriced. For 5 minutes of slapping on tonail polish - $17. We tipped well because we didn't want to sour the event. But it really wasn't deserved. I'd be cautious of using this place in general - and especially if it's for something special. It totally soured our day. read more

I am not usually one to leave reviews, but after recently moving to Milwaukee from South Florida, I was hopeful in finding a new nail technician when I read some of the reviews left for Nail Bar Milwaukee. This is the second nail salon that I have tried in the year that I lived here, and similarly to my experience after the first salon, I am once again hesitant to let anybody in Milwaukee touch my nails. Everything in South Florida is more expensive, but generally when I would get dip with tips at my old salon, it was 60 dollars. I have always been a good tipper and always will be, I would tip my guy out 20 if not more because they would crush it every time. AND they were so warm and inviting, I felt like family there. Moving to Milwaukee, all things are cheaper, except for this place. When I was prompted to pay 80 dollars in advance of this appointment, I thought: "Wow, they must be really good." I was wrong. Lexi was the name of my nail artist, and she was recommended for dip with tips. I was extremely nice and pleasant when I asked for the nail file, even after the fifth time, to get the shape right. I blamed the shape on a potential miscommunication over what I wanted, maybe. Emphasis on maybe. But when I saw her go and very clearly talk about me with two different people in the salon, I knew then and there that I would not be returning. I have never experienced that terrible of client services, and although I could've forgiven the fact that I had to put in work for my own nail appointment, for an extra 20 dollars mind you, I will never be going back to this salon. I still tipped out 20 dollars on top of the 80 that I prepaid, because I have respect for people who work in the service industry. After a couple weeks of living with these nails though, I had to give a review to let people know. read more

I felt very safe and received outstanding service from the staff, especially Alyssa, who provided my manicure and pedicure. Current pandemic process includes temp check, mandatory hand washing, mandatory mask wearing for guests, staff wears masks and gloves, safety barriers installed, and constant cleaning and sanitizing after each guest use of stations. Cards are accepted for services provided, but cash is required for gratuity, so please get cash before you arrive, but if you forget, they have an ATM on site, only a $2 ATM fee. If you pay for your services with cash, you get $2 off your bill. Very happy with my experience, and very happy with the enhancements they've made since my last visit late last year. read more

We all had great services, including regular manicures, no chip, and a dip mani. We were greeted and sat together as a group, and were offered drinks too! The other two times I have visited have been during COVID, and Nail Bar has done a great job adapting to this new normal. Temp check upon arrival, masks for the duration of the visit, and hand washing before you pick a color is a good idea to keep everyone safe! Plexi between service provider and client for all manicures. The pedicure and manicure's I've had with Alyssa have been second to none! She is so detailed in her work, the edges of my no chip nails didn't start coming up until almost 3 weeks later! Pedicure going strong 4 weeks later. Pricing is totally fair for the results you get, and cash gets you $2 off :) I must say I love the interior, and the added touch of everyone in matching uniforms with their names personalized on each one really makes it feel even more like a spa environment! My favorite go-to nail tech in Chicago recently moved which makes me super sad (I used to drive from MKE to Chicago to see her) because she was THAT awesome. A good manicurist is quick, precise, detailed-oriented, hygienic and a good listener. Getting my nails done is like therapy- with the right tech- I love catching up and chatting away with the person I go to. After moving to Milwaukee, I needed to find a new girl and upon a recommendation I do like and recommend Nail Bar Milwaukee. Tips (pun intended): -make a reservation- I've had instances where I was unable to even change my appointment from regular to no-chip during my appointment. -parking- there is a parking structure and cheap parking meters right outside the salon -they use one-time-use files and are super clean -they offer yummy libations (wine/tea/water) -prices are reasonable for the service (not too high) and I'm happy with the results. -cash only tips!! Absolutely loved my experience at Walker's Point. Edith(?) was an absolute doll and she was really easy-going yet diligent. She's super friendly and calming (almost felt like I was talking to my mom). She checked over her work three times and made sure I was satisfied. I was pretty indecisive about the colour and wanted something on the fancier side; while she personally doesn't offer designs she offered to either have someone help or to do something simple -- and we ended up with some dots of polish that seem like rhinestones. For a mani/pedi combo, she told me she'd have me done in an hour and a half, and sure enough I was out the door at 5:00 sharp. As for the salon itself, they're very diligent on their cleaning and safety precautions. There are customers who no longer need to wear masks, but they still are spaced out well. It's very chill, and very moderately priced given the experience. (No heavy acrylic smell-- or any smell really). Walk-ins aren't often available as they're usually booked pretty back to back. My only mild complaint is that while this location has open parking to the side of the building, there are cones closing off the entrance. Directions are not too clear and the sign blends in a little. (Not sure if it's only available to employees at the moment as there were some cars? Or if there's a different entrance. I ended up parking on a side street and walking over). But in general, as far as service goes, this is the ideal experience. An additional random note, their gel colour "Lavender" shows up a tad more pink then purple in real life. read more

Ultimately ended up choosing this place because none of the nail salons in Bay View were open on Sundays. It was nice and convenient that this was. A heads up though, that finding parking is a nightmare unless you happen to get lucky. We happened to find a spot on a side street. It doesn't help that this place is right next to Cafe Hollander, which definitely seems to be a busy brunch spot. I scheduled my appointment online, which was convenient. They allow you to pick the person you want to do your nails. I suppose if you're a regular and have a favorite, that this option is nice. So this was my first time and not on a recommendation, so I let them choose for me. I was scheduled with Lita and I'll say this; I'll definitely be using that "choose your technician option" because Lita was amazing. And not just amazing because she's good at what she does; she's phenomenal. But also because she was warm, friendly AND didn't awkwardly force me to talk to her. I had a friend with me, but we weren't getting the same things. So my friend and I only chatted a little. Lita let me just relax and take in the moment. On to the actual job: I opted for a pedicure. Lita did not rush the experience. For $30 you also get a light foot/calves massage; she went above and beyond. I'll also say this, I usually go in with some busted feet. Not the worst because I buff them regularly, but definitely needed some TLC. Never have I ever left a salon feeling like they got all my dead skin off. Never have I left with smooth feet. After Lita, my feet were BABY BUTT soft! I'm not kidding. The softest and smoothest my feet have ever been was after Lita. Lita don't leave! I only get pedi's twice a year, extra for special occasions and I will most definitely be choosing Lita again. The salon itself is nice. They offer a variety of services. The environment was super clean and they open new packages of tools for each person. I love that they are still requiring masks and services are by appointment. It was a calm and quiet atmosphere. Some things I missed: massage chairs or even just reclining chairs-- the seating was pretty rigid, friendliness -- nobody was very welcoming and the nail artists seemed annoyed, and finally, I would have appreciated an offer of a drink. Most places give water at least. Overall, great services but the environment just wasn't very welcoming or hospitable. I still would definitely come back. I found Alyssa through social media and decided to give Nail Bar a shot. Could not be happier. She is a delight, is a fantastic artist, and my favorite manicure I've ever gotten (nyc artists included!) go! You will not be disappointed! Cost is reflective of the quality. I've been getting dip for years and wanted to try the new Nail Bar in WP. For a dip removal and dip manicure ($60 - gotta be the most expensive in town) I spent almost 2 hours here. Once my nails were wrapped for the removal, my manicurist stepped away. That's not entirely unusual, but she was gone for THIRTY MINUTES. I finally went up to the front at 25 min and asked them to go get my manicurist. The results are fine - not bad, not great. Probably won't go back here at this price point. In my experience, 1.25 hours is plenty of time for a removal+manicure. My time is valuable! read more

I booked online for what I thought was 2 full sets of nails with art. Apparently you have to call for that to be booked, no where on their site did they say that though. Our techs were so nice, but because the booking said just a regular manicure and we changed it they couldn't do artwork on our nails or the designs we wanted at all. Also- because my nails are crooked- 2 of my nails are very crooked. We ended up paying $75 a piece (and did tip the nail techs) which was quite a bit considering that we didn't get art and my 2 nails look crooked.
