He is very personable and a good listener and I have been pleased with my cuts with him. I also love that I get to schedule my hair appointments online with him instead of having to call to make an appointments, I cannot overstate the convenience factor. The salon is located in the third ward and beautifully decorated, industrial style. They also use Apple Pay. The parking is on the street which can be a bit of a pain but I can generally find street parking within a block's walking distance. I did take a friend here for a pedicure once and I will say that maybe it was the day or tight timing, but it felt a bit rushed and unfriendly, which is a bit unfortunate. I'm hoping that they normally do not give off those vibes, but otherwise it was a good experience.

I have followed Becky Biernat all over Wisconsin and she has been my hair stylist for over 8 years now. I've driven hours to get to her. Now I live in Michigan and I wait until I go back home to see Becky. I plan trips home so I can get in every few months - yes, she is THAT good. Becky has an amazing eye and phenomenal skills. I am a natural blonde and have had really long hair and now my hair is a bit shorter. Blondes have special needs, she is amazing at getting rid of the brassiness and foiling and using colors that brighten your hair, and make it look better. A lot of blondes end up with fried hair, but Becky is so aware of what to do to heal your hair and make it supple, shiny, and manageable. She listens, and she will then make the cut/color YOURS. As in, that celebrity may have a gorgeous hair color and cut, but there are tweaks needed to make the color good for your skin and the cut flattering for your face. She uses (and sells) L'ANZA healing hair care products, which literally heal your hair. I trusted no one to cut off inches of my hair after my wedding (and had grown it out). She had been amazing helping me take care of my really long hair, and that is a feat! It was gorgeous. After when I wanted a cut that was a bit different, she made it ME. I could not be happier to have followed Becky from Erik of Norway in Mequon, to Hair Benders in Okauchee - and now, at Beehive in Milwaukee. As a side note, the Beehive is so incredibly cute. I was going to Lori before she moved to Los Angeles and I waited patiently for her to come back!!! Everywhere else I went in the meantime did not understand what an "inch" was or how to do layers without making me look like I just had my daughter cut my hair! Lori really listens to what I want and she takes into consideration the texture and thickness of my hair. I have hair almost to my waist which is thick and heavy! Other stylists complain how thick my hair is and have charged me more... Lori has thick curly hair herself so she gets it! She has also done my finicky daughters hair - she's 11 now and even though she's young, I have let her experiment with some fun "peek a boo" colors and Lori knows how to talk to her! I LOVE the Beehive. I had just moved to Milwaukee, and really wanted to find a cute hair salon with a warm, friendly vibe. I have short hair, and also wanted to find a hairdresser who really understood how to cut short hair. I saw Paula my first time there and I continued to see her until I moved away. Paula owns the salon and is fabulous! She is such a friendly, fun person who makes you feel comfortable right away. She listens to what you want, and offers great advice to make the cut even better. She also has a ton of experience cutting short hair and has always done an amazing job with mine. I was so happy to hear Lori moved back to Milwaukee and is doing hair! She was in L.A. for way too long!!!! Thank God, because now I wont have to worry about getting bad haircuts and color and constantly wondering if there was someone in Milwaukee that could get it right! :) Well, I have told all my friends Lori is at The Beehive rockin' out some great hair! Becky is amazing! I have been going to Becky for 10 years now and I will follow her anywhere. She has worked at salons over an hour away from me and I still make the trip because her cuts and colors are awesome! She is so easy going, fun, and won't talk your ear off like other stylist I've been to. She also has great product knowledge and doesn't push you into buying anything. Similar to Aveda, in that they're natural and mostly organic, but they do so much more for my hair than Aveda ever could (and one of the shampoo/conditioner types smells like Thin Mints. THIN MINTS, people). I should probably mention that everyone at SF is super friendly, and that I've always had good interactions with everyone at the salon. I'm glad I made the switch!

They all seem to get along but also treat their customers like family - in a good way! I love that their products are all natural and organic. I have no problem getting appointments quickly and at times that work for me. They have a super convenient parking lot, too, which is AWESOME for the East Side.
