Such a cute little spot for a comfort meal. The prices are great and the service is amazing! Always a GO TO

Okay wow... very glad to have found this place. Recovering from a cold and wanting something other than Chicken Soup, i searched Google and Pozole was the remedy. Thank you Google, thank you Yelpers, because I'm beyond excited to have found my new go-to. Service: the pleasant lady that answered the phone and greeted me on arrival was nicer to me than my best friend. She sympathetically asked if i was 'sicky-poo' and assured me I'd 'feel better after the soup.' She was correct. Food: arghh where do i begin?? Their green pozole is $15, and as other reviewers have stated, is a winner. Delicious, filling, and fresh, it's large enough to feed at least 3 but i devoured over half i couldn't stop myself. Soup is my favorite food so high marks from me means I'm in love. Red and green sauces were included, also authentic, outstanding and done with a twist. The green sauce is creamy, the red sauce is like a blended pico de gallo. Both were fresh, tasteful, light, yet full of flavor--perfectly balanced and not overpoweringly spicy. Ambiance: who cares/don't know From just those brief moments of interaction and a single dish, I'm sold. It's places like this that make me love and rep LA.

SUCH good green pozole here. I'd absolutely come back for this dish. Tacos were solid but the caldos here are star dishes. Service was really friendly. They helped to split the soup into two bowls for us to share. Chips and salsa included. Homey interior. Was satisfied and real full after 4 tacos, an aguas frescas, and a pozole between two people. Really good food and love supporting local. Would revisit!!! Best pozole I've had so far

Really good place. I had been trying to go and found it closed often. I finally figured out the schedule and have been going regularly. To start, the salsas are excellent. Usually a harbinger of what the food will be like at a Mexican restaurant. Everything I've had has been excellent. I especially like the breakfast. A lot of great choices. I've brought a couple of friends here and they loved it too. It's basically a take out place although there are 4 or 5 outdoor tables that make it a nice place to eat at too. And the couple that run it are very nice. All in all it's always a great experience. Recommended.

Food is affordable, flavorful, and served at generous portions. It's difficult to find parking, but if you're hungry, you'll figure it out.

Surprised by location we were hesitant for a quick bite. Food is made to order. Salsas we're on point and so was the Mexican plate. Agua de Pina was served generously. Chips are nice and crispy. I would make another stop to eat here Again. The service was awesome. They do come to table to place order.

This spot has been a revolving door for various restaurants generally Mexican food, so when I drove by and seen it had changed to MX 30-30 https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mx-30-30-ll-los-angeles?select=jw_pfTUjb-3-OMoCDyEpCQ I knew I had to return, and here I am. I've been to the original location in Boyle Heights many times the biggest issue there is the lack of parking, but the food has always been good, service can be hit and miss and food can take way too long coming out of the kitchen. Well unfortunately the new location has the same bad habits. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mx-30-30-ll-los-angeles?select=6WKaiS9RaqVrRKOar2JF-g https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mx-30-30-ll-los-angeles?select=7mnUjdWKyy3TUVeBNeg4CA While there were only two other customers there the food took way too long coming out of the kitchen, and was not very good, the original location has been around for years BUT this location won't last unless they make some changes, maybe they had an off day as they have a 5-star average? But I would not return nor recommend this place as it is. Hands-down the best authentic Mexican restaurant in this area it is all homemade and everything is delicious everytime! I have picked so many different plates and have enjoyed every single one right now I am about to enjoy a posole in a authentic clay pot They serve up chips and salsa with every meal and once you try their green dip it will blow your mind!! It's so good they even sell some to take home!!

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and everything was presented really well. The enchiladas were flavorful, the grilled fish was cooked perfectly, and the tortillas with the short rib were a table favorite. Portions were great for sharing, and the sauces really tied everything together. Service was friendly and our server checked in on us throughout the night without making us feel rushed. It did get a little busy, so there were a few waits between courses, but nothing that took away from the experience. No apology, no real explanation--they basically just brushed it off. Thankfully, the food saved the night! The Michelada oysters were TO DIE FOR--seriously one of the best oyster flavors I've ever had. We also had the short rib plate, which was delicious. The outdoor atmosphere and decor are really cute too. I would come back, but ONLY for those oysters--definitely not for the service.

Sonoratown was our first stop as it was highly recommended by my boyfriend's brother, and it did not disappoint. It immediately earned a spot in our top five favorite taco spots for carne asada in all of Southern California! The location that we went to is located in between Elysium DTLA and Perfumeria Starlux on E 8th St in downtown LA. There is only paid(?) street parking around the area that could be extremely difficult to find during work days. Because we couldn't snag a spot, my friends and I opted for takeout and didn't end up eating until about 30 minutes later. Despite the travel time, the tacos were still absolutely incredible--I can only imagine how spectacular it tastes fresh! My friends and I ordered the carne asada tacos, and my boyfriend opted for the cabeza. Before I even took a full bite, I tasted a piece of the loose carne asada and was blown away; it was perfectly cooked with a wonderful tenderness and deep smokiness. The use of a single, thin, handmade flour tortilla--rather than the standard double corn--was a total game-changer and exactly how I preferred my tacos. The salsas were equally impressive, offering fantastic flavor and a great kick. My boyfriend's cabeza taco was just as standout, featuring super-tender meat with a rich, savory profile. Wowowow! Between the exceptional meat quality, bold flavors, and great value, this is easily one of the best taco spots I've visited. It's a huge bummer that they don't have a location down in San Diego, but we will definitely be back!

I'd come back to try the beef burrito and the chivichanga next time.

Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. Valet parking or park across the street or around the corner in a lot for $5-10.

Uno and scallops so fresh. Scallops are in a ceviche-style sauce under those beautiful sea urchins. Tostada de atún - also very good. Everything chopped perfectly.
