We liked anything made with their pollo asado, carne asada, machaca, and shrimp: sopes, tacos, burritos, nachos. Employees are nice and the restaurant is immaculate every time I have stop by. So I finally gave this location a shot. Simple order. 2 hard tacos. 1 chicken 1 beef. There was perhaps two teaspoons of shredded beef somewhere in the taco and although dissatisfied with the amount of meat for the charge it was pretty decent. Now the chicken taco was disgusting!!!!! The tortilla used seemed old and smelled old. The chicken was extremely salty and overwhelming. I won't go back. If you want really great Mexican food, just go to Pepe's. Its a short distance for much better quality, quantity, consistency, flavor and moreover value for your dollar, ESPECIALLY in these economic times. read more

This place used to be a Popeyes more than 15 years ago and now has become one of the most popular Mexican fast food restaurants in the area. The prices on everything have gone up and so has the food at this place. At least you get a good amount of food for the price and I'm never disappointed with the burritos and tacos. I only get taquitos and horchata from here. The taquitos are consistently good. It has shredded beef inside and are topped with guacamole and shredded cheese. I usually get an order of 10 taquitos to share with my boyfriend. I love that they allow to split the 10 taquitos into 2 separate to go box. They are very filling and really 3 pieces are more than enough to get full, but we continue to get the 10 pieces because it's the best deal. Yes, prices have gone up over the years like every thing else, but it's still worth it for the taquitos as they are about $18 for the 10 pieces. Their horchata is also good, sweet and always refreshing. Customer service has always been good. There are some tables to dine in, but we normally do take out here. read more

Stopped in when we randomly saw this place on drive home. Not the worst thing I've ate. But not great, or even good really. Wife got tacos, I got enchiladas. Ordering was hard, communication was difficult with language barriers. Both the tacos & enchiladas taste super salty. Wife didn't eat her tacos after one bite. I ate the enchiladas, yes salty and mushy, but edible. $10 for 2 tacos & $10 for 2 enchiladas, $20 total about. No rice or beans included. Probably won't be back. read more

Best carne asada fries in town! After moving from San Diego back into my hometown, I was on the search for carne asada fries and I ran across this family restaurant and so happy I did! The fries are crunchy! They use shredded cheese and not nacho cheese fully loaded with all the toppings (I say no beans but does come with beans) and prices are decent too. First time coming here to buy lunch with the hubby. I ended up ordering a large horchata with two lengua tacos and a large shrimp cocktail. We sat at one of the booths to wait for our to go order to be ready. As we sat there, a customer came in and was upset by an order that a friend of hers had "gifted" to her that didn't meet her requests/standards. She was very rude to the cashier who just helped us, but the cashier took it on like a champ even if the ladies demands didn't make sense (she wanted a sausage and egg breakfast platter, but no where on the menu was that even a thing). We weren't able to see the resolved issue at the end since our order was done, but I'm pretty sure the cashier will be able to stand her own if anything else happens. We brought our food back home and dug right in. I was surprised at how much meat were in the tacos as well as how much shrimp was in the cocktail. I felt like they were very generous and everything tasted really good. I was not able to finish my shrimp cocktail or horchata since it was a lot of food for a meal for me. I am so excited to have found a place that sells lengua because it's actually my favorite kind of meat for tacos. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese burrito. Idk why they put ham in it, but they did. Anyway when I brought the ham and bring up the issue, they said they wouldn't do anything to make things right because I had picked out so much of the ham and ate the rest of the burrito. They should make the food how discussed, but if they don't then they should try to make up for it. Bad customer service, bad communication, bad experience. read more

Struck out at Carl's Jr.'s because their credit card system was down so I decided to give Super Albert a try. Walking in I noticed the restaurant is clean and well maintained. Customer service was good. Waited about 10 minutes to receive my California burrito after ordering. Portions of their side salsas are generous. I'd give the burrito about a seven out of ten. Decent size parking lot shared with Yum Yum donuts. I appreciate that they're open till one in the morning. read more

4 stars for the #30 Taquitos Plate On my 2nd day of craving taquitos, I decided to venture out to try this restaurant. I didn't have the highest expectations since taquitos are a hit or a miss for a lot of mexican restaurants...mostly misses, too. So, I took a leap of faith here. Surprisingly, the taquitos were good. Not great! But good. There's way too much tortilla for the roll, but they're wrapped well and the meat within wasn't super salty. Additionally, the guacamole was quite tasty and looked fresh. The refried beans were decent and the red rice was quite good. I was surprised that I thought everything was salty? Maybe I'm just turning into my mom and think everything is too salty :p With that said, my mom stole 2 rolls from my plate and did NOT complain... so it must be decent. The best thing about my experience here is the air-conditioning (in June) and the 3 minutes I had to wait for my food. Literally, the A/C was life-saving for a hot-blooded gal like me and I only needed to wait for maybe 3 minutes from the time I ordered to receive my food. Never going back we went in with high hopes, place looks authentic and the staff were all hispanic (like us) and as a mexican myself, we're all about hospitality. but these people? omgggg so rude! the menu is huge and confusing, and for their prices i'd expect more. $14 for 5 SMALL tacos and choice of one meat? no thanks, ill go literally down the block for 10 for the same price and multiple meat options. place also needs to be cleaned up. the tables we sat at were dirty and we had to clean it ourselves after asking the lady infront. (she just gave us napkins). anyways, stay away from this spot if you're looking for authentic mexican food. their main targets are people in the area (races who predominantly live in alhambra) so i think they just half it and call it a day. read more

I was watching YouTube and saw some street taco videos, which got me hungry for tacos. Unfortunately, in my predominantly Asian neighborhood, there was only this Alberto's Mexican establishment. I ordered #19, Two Crispy Potato Tacos + One Beef hardshell taco, and One Horchata. First, beware that they charge .75 cents if you use any card (debit or credit). So my total was $18.56 after tax, but my bank app states $19.31. Look, I don't mind paying the service fee, but they should let the customer know or have some sign. Well, they do have a sign which looks like a toddler wrote it and is so small only the person who taped it there would notice (see pics). Regarding the potato tacos, they were terrible; there was only one tablespoon of actual potato per taco, no flavor, and too much lettuce that you could make a tostada bowl out of it. The taco shells were burnt and dry; It tasted like eating hard plastic. The beef taco was as bad--one tablespoon of actual beef and a mountain full of lettuce. Dude, I felt cheated, I'm thinking I could have made a better taco buying the ingredients at a Ralphs supermarket. The service and food were so bad that it made me write a review. I barely even write reviews that's how terrible the food is here. Hope this review helps others avoid this place or I hope the owner reads this review and hires some decent cooks. read more
