Carne a lanTampuqueña and Burrito de Asada... Fajitas de Carne in the background.

Burrito de Asada and Carne a la Tampiqueña. Every good Mexican restaurant in my point of view has to have a good burrito and Casa Calderón does. It came with a side of lettuce, tomato, avocado sliced with sour cream on the side so you can serve your self as you like. The burrito is a good size although not big to my standard, very tasty LOVE the spicy salsa! Music plays a little louder than I like sometimes but it works with the colorful ambiance and rustic, hacienda-like architecture, and picturesque oil paintings. The Tampiqueña plate was fresh served with beans, cheese, one small enchilada, lettuce. The meat topped with cooked white onion and sliced jalapeños was tasty but not as much as the burrito. I've been wanting to stop by for a few years, but today I finally stopped with the wife and enjoyed the food and ambiance, you should stop by and try it too. Oh! Two more things: The service was friendly, and timely. THE TORTILLAS ARE MADE IN-HOUSE. No folic acid BS added to these.

The food was really good. The only complaint was the 1 drink refill. I get thirsty, and when I got to conserve my drink it really messes up my dining experience. Especially when soda is just some syrup and water. Other than that I had a Chile reino, I am very picky about them and the way they are prepared. It's easy to mess them up. It was a decent chilie reino, I would order it again. The waiter was nice and the salsa was tasty. They also had free extra chips and salsa that's a big plus for me. It was a nice little place and they had tvs so we could watch the world cup. I recommend this place.

Decided to return because I was thinking about the Carne Asada steak plate and had a much better experience this time! During this visit, the wait time for food was significantly better than last time (only waited about 10 minutes). I also got the chance to try the Birria Taco, Shrimp taco, and Fish Taco. The Birria taco was divine! Well seasoned meat and had excellent flavors even though it didn't come to consumé. The fish and shrimp tacos were pretty good, too, but didn't stand out as much as the Birria one. The price of the food is also so reasonable!

Great old-school Mexican restaurant with good vibe. Staff friendly, service attentive, and food good. Nothing fancy just solid local spot that does things right. We had a good experience and would definitely come back.

This is a good place if you're craving Mexican food as you're driving through the San Gabriel Valley. Although the SGV is known for a lot of Asian food, this place fits right in! We came as a group and we all ordered something different. All the food was made fresh, and everything looked and smelled delicious. We had a taquito plate, a fajitas plate, a ceviche plate, everything was outstanding. The service was good also. We were greeted and seated as we walked in. The waiter took our order after briefly looking through the menu. This seems like a great place for happy hour or to view a major sporting event. Not to mention the great sound of mariachi music playing throughout the restaurant.

Wife and I have been here twice. We've had their tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, & Pupusas - Revuelas. All food has been well prepared and tasty. Service has been friendly and attentive. They have daily specials and happy hours, so be sure to come at the right times to get the food and drink deals. Is it the best Mexican restaurant I've been to? The fanciest? Of course not. But I have nothing to complain about, so 5 stars.

A night of Margachelas and Micheladas, with delicious pupusas, tacos are my go to. The food is delicious. The environment is comfortable and Keep TV for entertainment. I always enjoy a nice relaxing time here to get away from the bustle of life. Happy hours too!

"Thank You Casa Calderon" for great combination dinners. Started with taquitos appetizer plate. The Steak Picado went really good with the tasty beans & Rice. My Server was very patient and took care of all my needs while dinning.

The food was very good ! Ordered guac , chicken crispy taco, and fish ceviche!! On point with the seasoning! The service was elite! Miguel and Jessica was phenomenal!!! The ambiance is nothing much! Only slight issue I had is that it could have been a bit more clean inside! However, I will try it again and return for other options! Small parking lot they have for customers and parking in back. -Marshay D.

Casa Calderon consistently has fantastic service, and delicious food in a typical Mexican cafe setting. Daily rotating specials range from $5.97 to $15.99. Everything is made fresh so it might take a little longer than you're used to, but it's well worth the wait!

Service was great, seated right away. The waitress came by to make sure everything was ok. The tortillas were excellent as well as my rice and beans. I ordered the chili verde plate which was good, I did not care for the bone and cartilage that was in there. The restaurant is nice and clean and not too noisy.

Is this under new management? When did this new management take over?

How much for a dozen tamales?

Casa Calderon doesn't have tamales. Try their amazing Taco de Birria or Chile Relleno instead!

How are the taquitos and chips & salsa?

I liked the taquitos. Very simple and plain. The chips and salsa are horrible! The chips do not taste homemade and you get very few. Salsa if they don't run out it's just a green bland mess. Or you might get the red one that's just hot & no…

Aside from that the Breakfast burrito with Chorizo was good. The Rice and beans were good... The steak was chewy (that remark is from my 10 year old granddaughter who ordered it).
