Where's the QUESO ? You be the judge.
Bill W.

Queso birria with literally no cheese. When the " Asian lady " confronted she began giving an animated lecture on how it's made . We will never go back . This was by far the worst queso birria experience. Ripoff .

So glad to discover La Olla in the Blossom Market Food Hall . The chicken tacos with rice and beans were a perfect early dinner bite. No wait to place order on the computer screen. However, with only one person working to put together the orders placed, there was a wait. The tacos were freshly put together with one tortilla so were still hot in the take away container. The pre-prepared beans and rice were slightly warm. Diners may eat inside at the food hall tables or at outdoor tables.

Don't think the plate is worth the price. The side servings of rice and beans are so small. Between the two tacos one barely had any meat. The only redeeming thing was the sauce that came with it.

My daughter always gets the birria tacos from La Olla and this past visit, they made it to perfection. Wanted to share the perfectness of it and let you know that if you are craving birria and you are in the area, check them out.

Burrito asada

Wait time 30min for a QUICK MEAL I ordered when it was empty, only 1 employee was working Cost of burrito $12 +tax 1. Burrito 3 huge bites in its only the tortilla 2 barely any meat like less than half a scoop 3. The sauces are in the soy sauce containers and its a quarter filled

Nice taco spot inside the Blossom Market Hall. We got the Birria tacos. They're good and the sauce is really spicy. Just how I like it. Beef is super juicy. Good. Not soft but not too hard. Nice flaky kind of crunch.

4 of 4 reviews, also see Blossom Market Hall, Manduyo, and Piccadilly Grace Yelp reviews. Quality/Quantity - Two Taco Plate, Birria, Al Pastor - Personally I would have ordered the 3 taco plate, but maybe my daughter did not expect to share...? Al Pastor was my favorite of the two tacos, much more flavorful and with a slight kick. Atmosphere - Small kiosk in the Blossom Market Hall. Just walk straight from the entrance and they are on your right. I believe it is the second business. Great job on this location. Open 6 days a week from 11am to 8pm or 9pm, closed Mondays. There was a stage for entertainment. Today was a Friday night, so where was the entertainment? I thought this was LA? 2 floors, also a private room on the second floor for more events, or a rentable space, art gallery, etc. See website for current events. The meeting room can accommodate 60-100 people. Plenty of seating throughout. From picnic style tables, to regular tables, bar seating, etc. Also indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is also dog friendly. Large clean bathrooms. Community board, love supporting locals. I think they had free wifi...? Plenty of parking. I also like that employees have their own bathrooms, great idea! Service - Okay. There was also a team member stationed upstairs to clean and maintain the area. Security was walking the area downstairs. Self service water station. Price - $12.13 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success and good to see a second generation restaurant owner. Also cool that you are from Vietnam but grew up cooking around Mexican culture. I also like how you linked your "website" on Yelp to Blossom Market Hall. This saves time and $$.

At least please note Super Spicy on the menu then I would have avoided trying this dish?! I seriously wouldn't have bought this dish....can barely eat it. Just trying to look at the bright side of this order, I guess the dish cleared out my sinuses. They didn't state Shrimp Ceviche was going to be extremely spicy anywhere on the menu and for the 'City of San Gabriel,' this pricing as Tiffany L, of Monterey Park, another Elite wrote but I had to scroll down for her review that I can find cheaper ceviches elsewhere. Also, the salsa spiked all over my car seat when I opened the container. Pls provide a more convenient packaging. I now have to clean my car for real from the interior. Not coming back.

Nachos
Amanda T.

My friend ordered nachos from this place and shared it amongst 3 people as a snack. It wasn't bad, but I wish it was loaded more. I felt the cheese didn't melt all the way and there wasn't enough sour cream topped on. It was good as a quick snack but I think they could definitely improve on the taste. I don't believe the chips were home made, as they tasted like store bought tortilla chips. So overall, it was okay.

Asada quesadilla, Asada taco (no crema), 2 Birria tacos & Consome .
Sandi T.

I've been here a handful of times and it's pretty good. My daughter likes the asada quesadilla, we get it for her practically every time we come to Blossom Market. My husband loves the birria tacos or the quesabirria and it's a must to order the consome as well. I usually get some asada tacos with no crema , just my personal preference! They are friendly and the food always seems fresh and consistent. It was about 20$ or so for an Asada quesadilla, Asada taco (no crema), 2 Birria tacos & Consome.

Special: three different tacos and consume
Jennifer W.

It has been barely open, and I have already eaten here twice. La Olla is a mexican food place of high quality. I come back for the strong tastiness of consome and quesabirria. It is also inside Blossom Market, which is a cool place with lots of small restaurants with a general area for everyone to eat. I love getting their day specials. You get three different tacos they list and consome. I think this is the best deal and you get to try a little bit of everything. My favorite is the quesabirria because it is full of melted cheese and the softest and flavorful meat. When dipped into consome, which is their flavorful broth, it is so delightful. In fact, I did all my tacos in the consome. I would love to take my date here. In fact, I already did! Parking is free and the lot is huge. Since it is in downtown San Gabriel, you take a short walk to the mission church/theater and make a lovely date out of it.

What I liked right away is that they don't chop it down into tiny bits. You actually get slices of al pastor that are chewy, tender, and full of flavor. They top it with a good piece of pineapple too, which balances everything out. The condiments were fresh, and you can load up however you like. At around $3 a taco, I was full after four and honestly felt like it was worth it. Simple, busy, and straight to the point. Out in the street, the place opens up with a casual but flaming setup. Definitely a solid late night stop and you can't miss it if you're just driving up San Gabriel Blvd heading home.

We both heard it flying first, and he looked extremely uncomfortable and disturbed. I kept saying there were roaches, but the woman taking our order didn't acknowledge it at all. After ordering, we looked around more carefully and noticed several adult roaches around the truck. We even heard another girl on the other side scream because a roach flew at her too. On top of that, the food quality wasn't worth the price. We ordered 3 burritos and 4 tacos, and the total came out to almost $50. When we got home, 2 out of the 3 burritos were wrapped so poorly that they completely unraveled while eating. One of the people I ordered for got so frustrated they stopped eating altogether. Sadly, between the hygiene concerns, lack of response from staff, declining food quality, and high prices, I would never return.

After finally getting to the tacos 30 minutes wasted, they were OK only. Was kind of disappointed bc of all the 5 star reviews. It could also have been that we were the first to order at their new spot: 1410 E Adams Ave, Alhambra, CA 91081 This low key casual taco stand you get to serve yourself whatever condiments and accompaniments you want. The tacos come in double tortillas and handed to you to go in foil. -- for the TACOS you get plenty of MEAT -- but they're not all that tasty :( - Cabeza meat was soft and tender. - Carne asada's flavors were meh -- not particularly good nor bad. - Al pastor were a bit better and I loved the piece of pineapple they throw in there. - Tripas were super chewy so if you don't like chewy, I'd recommend getting them elsewhere. Their green guac salsa has a tiny hint of spicy. Their spicy green is more spicy than mild.

My partner and I shared the nachos, while our friends got the quesadilla and tacos. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food tasted fresh, was well-seasoned, and wasn't overly salty, which I really appreciated. One thing I love is their salsa bar. They have a self-serve area outside the truck where you can get as much salsa as you want. It's convenient, and it's nice that they're not stingy with condiments. They also offer daily specials. We didn't order any of the daily deals this time, but they looked like a great value. If you're looking for delicious food at an even better price, definitely check out their daily specials before ordering. The location is another plus. It's right outside Jefferson Middle School in a quiet area with plenty of parking, making it very convenient to visit. Several people recommended the horchata, saying I had to try it, so I ended up getting one and sharing it with my partner. It was really good! The only thing I noticed was that it didn't come with ice, so we added some when we got home. The service was quick and friendly. Some of their most popular dishes include Asada Burritos, Super Fries, and Tlayudas. I recently attended an event at my son's school where Chanos was a vendor. It was my first time seeing them there, and I was glad to see them, as they've replaced other vendors in the past. I had already eaten, but who can resist a burrito?! My son was getting hungry, so I ordered an Asada Burrito for us to share. It was pretty good; the tortilla was excellent. I wasn't a fan of their rice and beans, but the asada was not bad. They had a few salsas to try. They used those tiny salsa containers, which everyone knows. Restaurants use them to prevent over-indulgence, but it takes a while to get enough salsa because they're so small. I understand it's a cost-saving measure. They were also serving Churros ($3), and I got two. They were okay, a bit doughy in the middle, making me think they were undercooked. The guys working the booth were super friendly and attentive. I appreciate them! Realistically, the burrito was a 3/5, but with the good service and their community support, I'm rounding it up to a 4. Until next time, Chanos! Gracias!

I was starving. I parked and went in. I ordered 2 fish tacos and the cook instantly got 2 FRESH (not frozen) larger than expected, fish fillets, THEN dipped them into HOMEMADE BATTER right in front of me and dropped them into the fry basket. Where will you ever see that nowadays? They were ready almost instantly, and were done perfect Baja style, with lots of that good salty mayo+crema white sauce. THEY WERE AWESOME. And BIG. And would have cost WAY MORE at any other place...for $5. Really satisfying, I was NOT hungry after 2 of them. Since then I have probably been there 7 times, the quality has never varied. And they make all their own salsas, etc. I have even taken jobs down in that area just so I can eat there! ;-) The only other thing I have tried is taco de lengua, it was equally excellent, with LOTS of meat, not some skimpy little street taco thing. But just go there and see what $5 will get you with the fish tacos, this has to be the best deal in today's food world that I have found and I work all over the San Gabriel Valley and eat at dozens of places. Its not fancy though, old school with lots of handmade cardboard signs showing lots of other dishes, but this is the ambiance you will find in some of the BEST mom and pop type cafe's.
