These maybe the best enchiladas I've ever had. Omg! This little restaurant is a tiny little corner spot that is worth a trip over to Cypress Park anytime. The service was friendly and as quick as they could go. My order got stuck behind a huge to go order so one of the servers came over and said that second Mexican Coke is free cause your order took so long to come out. Problem solved! Thats all it takes. I knew what was happening but the fact that they acknowledged it is a prime example of how you deliver excellent customer service. I cannot say enough about how amazing the enchiladas were. Even the refried beans had flavor! The heat on the enchiladas was perfect. Every bite a perfect bite and the heat built as I finished the dish. This huge plate and two Mexican Cokes came to a whopping total of $18. I want to move into this place! read more

A throw back to old school eateries where the chef and owner is mingling through out. Food is authentic, takes a little time but it's made to order. I had the green enchiladas with the red burrito- it was more than enough and the quality was home/y, authentic making you peruse the menu planning your next visit. Continues to remain my go-to place for incredible authentic Mexican food. The huevos rancheros is my fav! I have tried others and none have come close to the flavors and deliciousness of La Abeja's. Everything at this restaurant is incredible! You won't go wrong with anything on their menu. The service is top-notch! It's a family run business, and customers feel the homey-ness when one walks in. Grew up coming to this place for the amazing menudo! My mom and dad have been coming here for years and never are disappointed! The staff is super friendly and family oriented! This place is very delicious. A family owned business. I've been coming here for years. My go to is their burrito with beans and cheese. I always add bacon and chorizo con juevo highly recommend this place is always busy, and it's because their food is delicious. Today, I ordered the hard shell beef tacos with beans and potatoes instead of rice at no extra cost. The beans are the real star of the show; theyre absolutely wonderful! The beef is real pot roast. They start serving soup on Thursdays through to the weekend. I really wanted the Thursday soup special but they already ran out. So I recommend getting there early if you want the soup specials bc they will run out! From the soups to the tacos, the beans...its all tasty. OG Mom and Pop Mexican restaurant opened in the early 60s. Been coming here since 2006 and it's always delicious. Hands down the best Chile Relleno in LA. The Chile Verde is rich in flavor and savory goodness, so tender and looking like it just fell off the bone. La Abeja is an institution that exemplifies the family spirit of LA. I feel like you had to have spent your childhood here to really understand. Humble, not fancy, old school I selfishly want it to never leave even though the owner says he'd like to retire at some point. read more

This place has such a warm, family vibe that you feel it the second you walk in. The employees are genuinely some of the sweetest people ever -- they treat you like they've known you for years. This review is solely for the chile relleno burrito because it's the only thing I have tried here and will likely ever try because it is their most bestest creation. A burrito with a chile relleno in it, what more can you want?? Their beans are really good (#2 beans in NELA behind Chicos), and their chile is cooked well and the cheese is melted and delicious. It's the perfect vehicle for eating chile rellenos on the go. Are there other things here I should probably try? Absolutely. Will I as long as the chile relleno burrito exists? The food is delicious. I enjoy the Friday Albondigas soup special, the milanesa and I especially enjoy the yummy beans. It's uncomfortable walking into the restaurant bc just about every time I go in, in the middle of the main dining area is aways a table of men sitting and talking with the owner and male server and the men stare when you walk in and I catch them looking when I'm eating. La Abeja is a gem in this metropolis we call LA. It has been around over 50 years, and is owned and run by Roy who is the most lovely man. He and his compadres serve the best Mexican food in all of Los Angeles. My family and I have been going to La Abeja for over 50 years. They still use Roy's mother's recipes which everyone we bring there says they are in heaven while eating their delicious food. We feel very fortunate to have La Abeja in our lives! read more

I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.

Try out Johnny's Breakfast Sandwich; the swiss cheese and chipotle aioli make this no ordinary ham+egg+cheese sandwich.

We particularly enjoyed the kara kara appetizer - a surprisingly fusion of oranges, chilli crisp, and other ingredients. Also delicious was the mushroom polenta, blistered peas, and cornbread. The eggs benedict comes in a pastry that acted as a edible bowl - certainly unique but tasted like any other eggs benedict - it was good.
