Catering was amazing, so next day I visited the dine-in restaurant...off Soto Street in Boyle Heights, right across from the L.A. General Hospital.. It's a lovely mom and pop place with an al fresco patio....I enjoyed the ambiance 5/5 with a lot to captivate your eye....with a revolutionary but festive vibe. I did takeout however. Food was ready when I arrived, I was greeted warmly and appreciatively. 5/5 as for the food, overall, was homey and solid but not as delicious as the Catering service I experienced the day before at an East L.A. event. The asada burrito was well built but the meat preparation was ground and had consistency like ground beef chili, so this made me think it was a mistake in our order tho it's possible this was the asada. The chicken enchiladas were pretty and the chicken was shredded nicely. . I liked the half half presentation but it was dry and the tortillas were mealy. Needed queso inside maybe?? Also I loved therice and beans, but the portion of beans seemed like a 3rd of an ice cream scoop and didn't fill the takeout container. 2/5 I actually loved the beans from their Catering service and the generous portion the server ladled onto my plate. My restaurant serving seemed kinda skimpy in comparison. Granted it took 12 minutes to get my takeout home, but the overall experience of what I ordered was a bit disappointing though not fatal. I'd love to try their other items dining in....their caldo from the Catering was so amazing ( I believe it was beef en jugo soup.... and so were the sort tacos....in which tge asada was clearly steak not ground beef. Catering was 5/5. Restaurant takeout 3/5. The three flavors of agua Fresca during the catering was amazing pineapple mango, watermelon, and a cucumber drink. At the restaurant, they had a mango drink 5/5 and an orange/cucumber 2/5 (something black was on the bottom of the orange drink, ugh). This is a place I'll give the benefit of the doubt. That's how good their catering service, that inspired me to seek out the restaurant. read more

3.5 stars for this cute little eatery at the steps of the LAG hospital means our team can easily run across the street while on call. MX 30 30 prices are pricey but accessible for tacos, burritos, and the works-- they have both a breakfast and lunch menu and their various egg types are delicious. Their complementary chip appetizers keep you crunching as you wait for the food to arrive freshly cooked and plated. Definitely a hole in the wall vibe but doing well likely due to its proximity to the hospital. Service here is always wholesome and they have restrooms outside. Grateful to my neurosurgery chiefs for feeding us hungry young'uns. read more

Great customer service is everything and you will find it here! Conveniently (for patients and employees) located across from LA General Hospital (woop woop!). Everyone here is kind hearted not just friendly it's an "at home" type of feeling especially when you pair that w/the beef stew/caldo de res...then you're definitely en casa! The decor is an added bonus...so cool! God bless this establishment and all the workers: ) read more

The ambiance is the thing you first notice here. There is a great presentation of the restaurant very vibrant and exceptionally clean. There are several memorabilia about Mexican American culture on the walls. Making it feel authentically a Mexican restaurant atmosphere. The service is nice and friendly. They accommodate you based on where you want to eat. There are many options to choose from, from eating in door, or out door options, or take out. It is a busy restaurant since it's right across the general hospital and many orders come through, so it may take some time to get your order, but there are many things you can do while waiting, watch tv or just admiring all the memorabilia! But the best part is receiving your food to chow down. I got the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and steak for breakfast. Very yummy and warm along with the very delicious cafe de olla. read more

Another good meal at MX 30 30. I ordered the Plato Mexicano (Asada, Carnitas, Chicken 1 Taco Dorado, 1, Rice and Beans). The dish was excellent. All three proteins were nicely seasoned, and the flavors were on point. I'm currently on a crunchy taco kick, so I also had an Asada Crunchy Taco. It was very tasty, as are the Carne Asada Soft Tacos. I've been here a few times now and I've never left disappointed. The service is very friendly and minus the difficult parking situation, you can't go wrong eating at MX 30 30. I will be back. read more

Saw this place being hyped on tik tok and had to check it out! First off loved loved LOVED the inside of this restaurant. Although it's small, it has a vast amount of Mexican culture incorporated into the interior design. I loved the appreciated and recognition for Mexican figures. The service was great! We were attended to very quickly and enjoyed our meals. This was such a good comfort meal that I would love to have more often. If you're in the area and want to catch up with someone this is a perfect spot. The serving sizes are pretty big in my opinion! We had to take ours to go afterwards. read more

Came here for the first time on Saturday and I really like the food here! The location is fairly unassuming; it is right across the street from LAC+USC hospital and is nestled in between a market and a motel. The area is also a little bit sketchy but for a LA native, its not that bad. We ordered a couple of carne asada tacos, the cactus salad, the burrito mojado, chile relleno plate, and the carne en su jugo. Everything was really good, but the star of the show has to be the salsas. Backtracking a bit, we actually ordered our food for take out and expected to wait a bit in the restaurant. The lady up front was so nice! She couldn't speak English that well but she tried so hard to communicate with us and made sure that we got exactly what we wanted. After ordering, we sat at the table and waited for the food. Not 5 minutes later, the same nice lady comes out with a basket of chips and their three salsas. All of them were good! I see why they sell their salsas in bottles now. I'm gonna have to start coming here on a regular basis, definitely for the food, if not, at least for the salsas. read more

Hands down they have one of the best (if not, the absolute best) chilaquiles! I bring my friends and family and are never disappointed. The place can take a while so I would order ahead of time. The place can be empty at times during the weekday which I prefer if I'm looking for a chill lunch spot away from busyness of work but the music can be too loud for that. Overall, the quality of their food makes up for whatever nitpick I find. read more

This is my 3rd time coming here. The first 2 times I had an Asada burrito. Just meat, cheese, tomatoes and rice. They were delicious. Today I decided to try some tacos. I said to myself, that if the food was right Today. I would post. They did NOT disappoint I had a chicken, cheese and tomato taco. Also, 1 asada, cheese and tomato taco. They were the bomb. I think the chicken was tastier. Although I have NOT sat down and enjoyed my meals. Don't get me wrong, the place is always clean and the service is excellent. I work nearby and I am always pressed for time. The waitress I believe is Mirela. At least that's what is says on the receipt. She gives excellent customer service. She makes you feel welcome. read more

Food quality went down the drain, flavorless, and now using tons of cheese to cover the lack of flavor, the huevos divorciados were horrible, they used to be amazing. And price is ridiculous, 25 dollars for eggs and tortillas with a small cup of agua fresca, im actually sad I won't come back here read more

First off, I ordered the Café de Olla, and it tasted burned. I also ordered the chilaquiles, which were completely flavorless. I even asked if there was a new cook in the kitchen because the food was so different from what I expected, but I was told there was not. I brought my concerns about both the coffee and the meal to the staff's attention during my visit. Unfortunately, nothing was done to address the issue, and nothing was removed from my bill. I still had to pay for food and coffee that I did not enjoy and barely consumed. Overall, this was a very disappointing dining experience, both in terms of the food quality and the customer service read more

Been wanting to try this spot. We ordered the Camorones de ajo and potato flautas. Delicious. Shrimp cooked perfectly and with the best garlic/lemon flavor. The salsas were excellent . The green sauce was divine and the salsa negro was so good. It was delivered but next time we will sit inside to enjoy that cozy atmosphere. read more

First timer today. 1. Got a wet birria burrito (no rice no beans - trying to stay low carb) - it was the best burrito I've had in a long time. 2. The birria was tender and melted in my mouth - the sauces - the salsa - just everything was a symphony and worked so well together. 3. The waitress on Sunday 5/25 at 11am ish was the nicest, sweetest, most accommodating person. She was a delight and made the experience that much better. Can't wait to go back and enjoy myself all over again. read more

Did not get the hype of this place. Everything was "just okay" especially the salsas and like, that's not acceptable for salsas to be just "just okay" when serving this kind of food- it needs to have FLAVOR! Maybe salt would help? I'm just someone who loves to eat- but a suggestion? You can't forget to add some when cooking- or that's the way to lose repeat guests. If you know what I mean??? read more

First time here. Parking can be tricky, it is on a very busy street, convenient if you're at the hospital. Very friendly service, seating inside and out. Clean restaurant. Was at USC hospital and found this place on Yelp. It was the closest restaurant around without having to drive. The restaurant was very clean and had nice decor. Service staff was very friendly and quick. I ordered the hard shell tacos with shredded beef. I liked how crispy the taco shell was and the seasoning on the shredded beef. The rice and beans were nicely seasoned as well. Not salty whatsoever and the beans had a nice consistency. I was looking for more of a hole in the wall type Mexican restaurant but this did the job. For a nice sit down restaurant, the pricing wasn't too bad at all. I do wish their salsa was spicer but overall not bad. read more

Ever since they changed their hours, night shift can no longer enjoy this place unless we are staying over for some class or another. So this gem has been here for a long time, I've driven by it many times and had not realize it. It's directly across from La General hospital, very simple spot and very authentic. The burrito was all I had, and might I say, for a big eater like I am, it filled me up! The burrito was not only big, it was flavorful. The sauce they provided were delicious! Must have when wanting Mexican burrito in the area. The service was outstanding, they were fast, prompt and polite, as customer service should be! The place was not too big however it will fit a good amount of people, inside looks like you're in a native town of their own and makes you feel like you're in Mexico somewhere. Music was nice, subtle and not too loud . I will be coming back for more !! read more

I returned for lunch and this time I had chile relleno plate. Chile Relleno I was so impressed. The beans and rice were both really well seasoned and tasty, this time. Last time the rice was a little bland. During this visit they made it with enough spices and salt; they were very satisfying. The chile was smothered and stuffed with melty cheese. The outside was broiled a little bit. Yum! The salsa used was good. It is a strong flavor and rich. The egg batter held up well and wasn't too greasy. The chips and salsa before hand were fresh and delicious. I had an agua de melon what was house made. I'm so glad it was house made and I could taste the freshness, but it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Too much added sugar for me, although I know some people love love love sugar. Loved my lunch. I want to try the menudo next. read more

The place looks awesome and the staff is wonderful. Somehow the food lacks a bit in flavor. All in all, it's a must try.

Great food, large portions, nice and quick service. You can eat inside or outside with plenty of seating available.

We recently dined here and haven't stopped craving it since! It's a tiny hole in the wall spot, but absolutely worth the visit because the food is fantastic. It truly feels like you're in Mexico, so if you're craving authentic flavors, this place is a must try. read more

Visiting everyday at Keck USC and avoiding hospital food is a must. discovered MX 3030 food truck across the street. This has been seriously the only good thing about our family's regular visits to the hospital. Clean food truck with such courteous and nice people. first visit I ordered the Burrito Mojado with pork. so good and tasty. really good homemade salsas. second visit was for seafood enchiladas. i liked this even better. spicy with just the right amount of heat. served with rice and beans. i found the place since the food truck only parked across from Keck on the weekdays. I googled and found their location on Marengo. I will try to visit the restaurant. if the food on a truck represents their quality commitment. i am sure i will be happy with the restaurant. Thanks MX 3030 for making the stress of visits to a hospital to see a very i'll family member just a little better. read more

Im always looking for a good plate of chilaquiles and this place really hit the spot. HUGE portions and the server was so sweet.

I really did enjoy eating here but I will be honest by saying the food was decent. My plate of ranchera came out extremely tough and thick and the tortillas were not warmed up thoroughly. The bistek did not have much flavor but was tastier than the ranchera. Salsas were yummy and so were the chips. The cafe de la olla was delicious. The service was great and the staff were very friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant was very beautiful and felt like abuelita's house. I did enjoy dining here but would come back mostly for the service and vibe of the restaurant. read more

This restaurant doesn't know the difference between caldo Tlalpeno and caldo de pollo. After searching for a restaurant with Tlalpeno on the menu I was excited to find this restaurant. This is the first time l am writing a bad review about a restaurant. Unfortunately I had a bad experience today with one of the waitresses the lady with the ponytail hairstyle. I made an order by phone l ask her in how long is going to be ready she said 20 minutes okay she is the one who said 20 minutes l didn't put the time it was her. I let the 20 minutes pass than l went to pick up my order when l get there l pay and wait for my order since it was not ready than l just wait. After almost 40 minutes waiting l decide to ask her if they have forgotten my order because l need it to leave since my break was over that if it was not ready l would have to cancelled. She give me a rude face and rolled her eyes and told me with a rude attitude we are busy don't you see Señora!!! Why she didn't tell me that since the moment l called, she could have said your order is going to take about an hour because we aver super busy. Take notes lady. To me that's disrespectful because l just asked her in a very well manner about my order. Probably one customer is nothing for them but l will never go back to that restaurant, we work very hard to make our money l wasn't asking for fee food. As a customer l didn't feel appreciated to bad l use to go there very often and l recommended a lots of people to go there and now being treated like that. No thank you. read more

My boss decided to treat everyone at work today and recommended this place. It was my first time trying it. There was chicken inside and some veggies. It was really spicy. The soup was huge that I couldn't even finish it. All the staff loved what they ordered. I will definitely come back here again to try other dishes. The staff were really friendly. All the food was prepared as soon as I arrived at the expected time. It's hard to find parking since they don't have a parking lot so you have to park on the side street or the 2 or 3 spots they have in the front. read more
