Wendy's Tortas is a restaurant with lackluster execution and an identity crisis. Are you a torta restaurant? The tortas are one small square up on the right corner of the folded paper pamphlet menu - - the rest are your assorted comida Mexicana. The restaurant is trying to be everything and as a result, it is nothing. The salsa they serve with chips has veritably no salt, and no spice. It's tomatoes and onions. It's bland and adds nothing. The hot sauce/salsa they serve if you ask for it is an orange sauce (looks like oil and some kind of chile seco) that has spice but is also bland. Everything is bland. The bread for my torta especial was overtoasted and falling apart. There's a lot of unseasoned meat and then there are beans on the bottom which are the only thing that was salted - all I could taste were the beans. I ate about 30% of my sandwich and lost my appetite entirely. My hubby got the birria separada, but there wasn't any consommé served on the side. The clear juices from the meat soaked the plate, and the beans and rice were just moving around loosely in the juices. He didn't finish his plate either. We just paid and left, and we won't be back. Highly recommend! I especially love their Chile relleno. The service is always kind and you are greeted with delicious homemade chips and salsa right away. They bake their own bread for tortas and make their tortillas in house as well. Jamaica is delicious. I even like to come here for brunch occasionally. We were at Benny Boy down the street and they allow food to be brought into the brewery. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and a carnitas torta to go. The food took around ten minutes to be ready. The food was pretty good and the torta was spot on but they forgot to give us salsa to add to it. Good choice for fast food at a reasonable price. read more

The flavor is different I have been coming to Wendy's Tortas for over 10 years and the 2 tortas were bland. The carne asada and al pastor had very little flavor and the servers were sitting on their phones. Hopefully the recipes go back since the server said they did not change the owners of the chef.
