    Breakfast Burrito with brisket
    Lisa W.

My coworker brought me here and it did not disappoint. Hands down one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. The vibe was super chill. They seem to know the customers by name very personable. I'm a forever customer.

Found this place while walking around the area and decided to try. Amazing food the breakfast burrito was great, the crispy tots added a nice crunch and the spicy aioli complemented it nicely. I got a strawberry matcha which was 5 dollars and it was one of the best I have had around LA. The matcha flavor was strong and it was not overly sweet. Best of all it was a great size for the price (about 20 ounces). The ambiance was super friendly and welcoming and the inside is so pretty and community oriented. Will definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu!

100% please support this business!!! We witnessed something so heartwarming when me and my friends went... someone came in without enough money, and without hesitation the staff made sure they were fed, no questions asked. Their generosity really says something about their restaurant and you'd really want to support these kind of businesses!! They've only been open for 3 years, but they already feel like a place worth supporting over and over again. I haven't tried their full menu yet, but their matcha is amazing, they had oat and almond milk(no extra charge for sub). My friend ordered the burrito and rated it a solid 10/10!! Parking can be tricky, but we were lucky we got meter parking. They have small bar table situation inside, and good amount of table outside. I'm so happy this cute little place was recommended and I'll definitely be back to try the food for myself. Businesses like this truly deserve all the support. (:

Everything from start to finish was so delicious. A good portion of food is served, worth every dollar. Service was fast, especially during our lunch hour . They had a nice corner where you ca sit outside by the street . Definitely will be coming back

    Breakfast Burrito w/ Brisket

I am impatiently waiting to go back to Milpa from the moment I left. Not only because there was so much on the menu that sparked curiosity--their dishes are supremely delicious. The breakfast burrito had been highly recommended to me and it was phenomenal but what really stole the show for me were the breakfast tacos. I enjoyed the very last bite of them just as much as the first, something that is rarely found. Be sure to visit if you are looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a solid meal with someone you love or solo. The team here is on their sh-- and know what they're doing. Like I said, I'm counting down the days until I return. 10/10

    Pork belly breakfast Burrito

I currently have a birria and pork belly breakfast burrito addiction. I have been going every wknd, worth the walk. The burritos are delicious with the aioli sauce, really brings the burrito flavors together. It's busy during the wknds, compare to the week there is seating inside and out. Love the outdoor area, as it is very chill. Will def continue coming.

Just visited Milpa and ordered the pozole to go and wow. It tastes so delicious the flavor is so good, the chunks of meat are cut perfectly into squares its nice and tender. I like how they give you all the sides you need to enjoy your pozole. The tostadas taste nice and fresh and the chile de aceite is very spicy. Enjoying this pozole and can't wait to go back and try the strawberry matcha and other delicious foods they have.

    Tasted nasty and gross!

I came to this place to try the brisket breakfast burrito. My friend saw the lady who was preparing the food. She got distracted by one of the workers and dropped a towel on the floor. Instead of discarding the dirty towel, she picked it back up and wiped the counter where the food is being prepared. She put our tortilla's on top of the counter and continued preparing our food. The burrito had the plastic chemical taste and GROSS . Horrible integrity and courtesy from the employee. I will never go back to this place. Train your workers properly!!! Do better! You deserve zero stars!

I've been waiting all my life and searching high and low for the most flavorful, sweet cinnamon and orange aroma infused cafe de olla in Los Angeles...and guess what? I found it here at Milpa! (Silence because I'm savoring my cup of cafe de olla) Consider this my shortest and sweetest review yet.

    Brisket and Birria breakfast tacos
    Eric A.

great service with a smile. parking can be a bit tight on weekends. the outdoor patio seating is enjoyable if there isn't too much commotion or traffic. if you like fluffy tortillas you'll enjoy the tacos. the birria was definitely the winner in terms of meat choices for me. the pickled onions were a bit sweet and our mint drink was good but also a bit heavy on the sugar for me personally. i've had the birria breakfast burrito before and really enjoyed that too. will def return and change up the order next time.

In the mood for breakfast burrito - I heard this is the place to be! We ordered the pork belly and longaniza burritos and one taco - deliciousness! Love the salsa, definitely homemade and the agua fresca The service is outstanding and I appreciate the variety of coffee options. Looking forward to coming back and trying more on their menu!

What times are they actually open? Their hours on their ig, yelp and google maps differ from each other - idk who to believe😩

If I remember from the last time I called a few weeks ago, they open at 8am, Monday -Friday. You should call to make sure, though.

They handed out menus and took your order when you were close to the front. Once seated inside, they welcomed you with their signature banchan dishes: the nutty boribap (보리밥), which tastes great on its own but even better with their yeolmu kimchi (radish water kimchi). There's also their tasty radish kimchi and napa kimchi. Throughout the meal, they replenished our banchan multiple times without us asking. We tried two of the new items: Galbi Kalguksu: A delicious, deep-flavored bone broth with knife-cut noodles, shredded fried egg, sliced radish, and scallions. The meat fell off the bone, and I loved the broth, though my husband thought it was a little on the saltier side. Perilla Oil Makguksu: Cold buckwheat noodles in perilla oil. Mixed with sliced shiitake mushrooms, shredded perilla leaf, gim (seaweed), sesame seeds, and scallions. It's a deliciously light refreshing dish if you don't want the heavy knife-cut noodle dishes. Last, I ordered the Non-spicy Seafood Kalguksu. It comes with a anchovy broth with a lot of seafood flavors. It's a lighter broth than the galbi but still rich in flavor. It came with clams, mussels, shrimps and 1/2 crab. There was also sliced pumpkin and zucchini. Everything tasted great. Their servers were very attentive and generous with replenishing the side dishes, and overall it was a wonderful experience. If you see a line and don't mind waiting 15-30 minutes, it moves pretty quickly, so don't be deterred by it.

We came as a group of 9 and thankfully, they allow for reservations if you are a group of 8 or bigger. Take note! Especially in this LA peak heat. We checked in with the valet and they gave us menus as we waited about 15/20 minutes for the table to be ready. You will need to order before you are seated and you cannot order anymore food once you are seated, given how popular they are, this makes plenty sense. We were seated inside with cooling AC and the restaurant is quite large inside! It could certainly have several parties in there. Soon, our galbi kalguksu, XL chicken kalguksu, tteokbeokki and XL pork jowl and pork belly bossam showed up. Everything was extra delicious and fresh. The soups in both the galbi and chicken kalguksus were amazing and the hand pulled noodles were divine. We drank and ate everything up quickly. The tteokbeokki was delicious, but too spicy so the rest of the party was able to enjoy it. The bossam was all so tender and had just enough napa and garlic to go with it along with the many unique sauces we could dip all the meats in. Everyone left feeling happy and it satisfied everyone's palates.

The hot and sour soup was thick and chunky, just how I like the soup. The scallion bread sandwich with 5-spice beef was distinct. The bread was perfectly baked and the beef was flavorful and juicy. There was both mustard greens and pickles that gave crunch and acidity to balance the meat and bread. The lotus root salad was refreshing while still having a kick from their in-house chili oil. Dan Dan noodles were also excellent. Fresh cucumbers, chewy noodles, flavorful sauce. Hearty portions with enough for a lunch the next day. Also appreciated the speed of service. I recall attempting to visit here once at 7pm on a weekday, but immediately walking away because of how busy it was. My expectations for Asian food are quite high since I grew up in the SGV, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of Joy! Dan Dan Noodles: Amazing noodle texture with very rich, flavorful peanut sauce. Is it not spicy and sweeter compared to traditional Sichuan versions of Dan Dan Noodles. I would pair this with the chili sauce for that extra kick. Braised Pork Rice: This particular dish did not stand out to me, but I have seen other great reviews about it so maybe it was just an off-day. The flavors were a little bland and it simply did not stand out to me. There are definitely better braised pork rices out in the SGV. Thousand Layer Pancake with Egg & Cheese: So packed with flavor while the outside was nicely flaky. It did not feel overly greasy whatsoever and I loved the inclusion of melted cheese. Hakka Mochi: The mochis did not have any filling inside of them, but they were overflowing (in a good way) with black sesame and peanut powder on top of it. They were so warm, chewy, and moist!

While the broth was tasty, it wasn't cold :( Kind of defeats the purpose, especially when you're waiting in the heat for a table and the room itself was pretty warm. Banchan was pretty limited as well, with just two Kim chi types and cucumbers with samjang. The highlight might have been the ribs, which are not LA style but full bone. The bulgogi was pretty tasty as well, but serving was really small and the daengjang soup not all that great. Loved the purple rice though! I do like that they offer free tea, but is offset with the charging of to go boxes :). I realize it's only $0.50, but it did keep me from ordering an extra dish which would have guaranteed the need for containers. Thankfully we only needed three :). Parking is valet only and the place was packed even though we chose an off peak time of 2:00pm. $3 isn't bad, but even valet had a hard time keeping up so keep parking in mind when visiting.

Udon noodles were good, but it was not excellent. It did have light chewy texture. BUT in comparison to Meiji Seimen, it fell short, really short! I was disappointed. BEEF BOWL It was delicious! Beef was tender and moist and loved the caramelized onion too. Rice was delicious too, not dry nor mushy. Served with pickled red ginger. A very satisfying bowl. Sat at the bar, so watched them make udon from scratch, which was nice. WAIT LIST There was a line when I got there, just as it opened. It wasn't long, but everyone wrote their name down on a wait list. There's a sheet of paper placed on the table outside. Please write your name down ASAP, as that will help in making sure that you will grab a seat. Also, the lines are disorganized too, so it's best to write down your name, so no one cuts in front of you. It is a small restaurant. Limited seats. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was okay. Everyone got in the restaurant in the order they came in. Service was quick and there were no delays in taking orders. The server came by quickly and dropped off the check as she saw that I was nearly finished with my meal. PARKING Parked at Joe's Autoparks. It was $15! I did not know until after I paid the ticket. Very difficult to find parking in this area, so not many options unless you want to walk really far, back to your car in 90 degree heat. There was another parking garage next to Joe's, but the price was the same! Would I come back again? Not sure. Given that the udon wasn't what I expected, it may be my last time here. Also, parking sucks.
