The place is really cute. There are creative drinks, tacos, and breakfast burritos. Regardless, we came to try the breakfast burrito. There are many protein choices to choose from. We were between the pork belly or brisket but ended up with the brisket. This breakfast burrito was packed with creamy eggs, crunchy tater tots, brisket, and cheese. The tortilla was also great, everything to make this an awesome burrito. The only problem is the cheese they use overpowered the whole burrito. I wish they used another cheese, it would have been so good. I did get a brown coffee! It had cream, honey, and cinnamon. It was delicious! I love it. Found this place while walking around the area and decided to try. Amazing food the breakfast burrito was great, the crispy tots added a nice crunch and the spicy aioli complemented it nicely. I got a strawberry matcha which was 5 dollars and it was one of the best I have had around LA. The matcha flavor was strong and it was not overly sweet. Best of all it was a great size for the price (about 20 ounces). The ambiance was super friendly and welcoming and the inside is so pretty and community oriented. We witnessed something so heartwarming when me and my friends went... someone came in without enough money, and without hesitation the staff made sure they were fed, no questions asked. Their generosity really says something about their restaurant and you'd really want to support these kind of businesses!! They've only been open for 3 years, but they already feel like a place worth supporting over and over again. I haven't tried their full menu yet, but their matcha is amazing, they had oat and almond milk(no extra charge for sub). My friend ordered the burrito and rated it a solid 10/10!! Parking can be tricky, but we were lucky we got meter parking. They have small bar table situation inside, and good amount of table outside. I am impatiently waiting to go back to Milpa from the moment I left. Not only because there was so much on the menu that sparked curiosity--their dishes are supremely delicious. The breakfast burrito had been highly recommended to me and it was phenomenal but what really stole the show for me were the breakfast tacos. I enjoyed the very last bite of them just as much as the first, something that is rarely found. Be sure to visit if you are looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a solid meal with someone you love or solo. The team here is on their sh-- and know what they're doing. Not a fan. Parking sucks. The food just isn't that great. Service was ok. No issues with that. The place looks nice, and the outdoor seating is nice as well. Made me want to give this place a try. It's within walking distance home. Had one of each flavor taquito. The pork was the better of them. Chicken tasted wet and soggy. No flavor, no salt. The beef was bland. The drink I got was just ok too. Not as 'eastlos' as I hope this would be. Fits a more hipster demographic, not really the people that live there. Think of Silverlake, Echo Park. Menu is pretentious. When I arrived, I had to wait another 35 minutes, so it took about 50 minutes just to make two burritos. The worst part was that no one apologized for the delay or acknowledged the inconvenience. Just visited Milpa and ordered the pozole to go and wow. It tastes so delicious the flavor is so good, the chunks of meat are cut perfectly into squares its nice and tender. I like how they give you all the sides you need to enjoy your pozole. The tostadas taste nice and fresh and the chile de aceite is very spicy. Enjoying this pozole and can't wait to go back and try the strawberry matcha and other delicious foods they have. read more

I came to this place to try the brisket breakfast burrito. My friend saw the lady who was preparing the food. She got distracted by one of the workers and dropped a towel on the floor. Instead of discarding the dirty towel, she picked it back up and wiped the counter where the food is being prepared. She put our tortilla's on top of the counter and continued preparing our food. With a 15-month-old who didn't nap, we found Milpa Grille on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Their breakfast burritos were not only amazing in presentation but tasted fantastic too! My husband got the birria, my sister-in-law chose the crispy pork belly, and I went for the longanisa. The longanisa burrito was my favorite! Each burrito was stuffed with cheese, the fluffiest eggs, and crispy tater tots. They were very fulfilling, none of us finished ours in one go. I only ate half and was very satisfied. I really love this place. I always get the Milpa Salad with chicken. I was here recently, and two other customers were looking at the baked items. I got excited and bought a bunch of them--chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin cookies, and pumpkin cheesecake with pecans. I ended up spending $32.90 just on the baked items. Unfortunately, the baked items were not so good. The cookies tasted like flour and undercooked. The muffins were raw and I had to spit them out. Gf and I made the long 1hr+ commute from the South Bay to this cute Boyle heights spot. Initially we ordered two breakfast burritos with Pork belly; but after giving it some thought we went back and requested one fried chicken and one pork belly. The staff were super friendly and made the change for us and we were stoked once we received our order. While the pork belly was delish, the fried chicken was the real stand out. Particularly the aioli was amazing. But if I had to put my finger on the one thing that sets this place apart it's the amazingly crispy hash-browns. Just insane. The eggs were also elite. Overall well worth the drive if you live anywhere in the LA area. P.s. the Jamaica and the lemonade were game changers. Must try. read more
