    Tres en Unos Juice
    Siria F.

Stopped by to try a juice on a Saturday morning. I think the owner was the only one working so she was busy but I didn't wait too long for my drink. The service was great, owner was friendly and accommodating. The outside patio was my favorite. They have music playing and you can sit and enjoy all the plants. It was very relaxing. I got the tres en uno jugo and it was good! I will be back to try a torta and a smoothie next time. You have to look for street parking, there's no private parking lot. Overall, though it's a great corner cafe for a quick bite to eat and/or refreshing juice/smoothie. I definitely recommend stopping by

The food is so good and the ambience is beautiful. You're basically having lunch in a beautiful garden, tucked away in Boyle Heights! Plus, the service is great, they make you feel at home. And the salsa is amazing!!!

hidden in city terrace, cute lil spot. I tried the breakfast egg and ham torta, and it was fantastic -- perfectly balanced flavors, fresh bread, and a nice kick from the salsa. Free wifi, prepared fresh to order, i enjoyed my breakfast sandwich

The plants are what got me here the food, service, plants, agua fresca, and good vibes are what's going to bring me back. I found this place on yelp and wanted to check it out . It's not easy to find a nice place to eat outside around here and this little cafe has made this little corner inviting and relaxing to sit and enjoy your lunch. I had the chicken pita it was good and really big it came with sliced oranges with Tajín, the perfect side. I had the pineapple agua fresca it was very refreshing. The lady that helped me was so friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back and recommend it if you're in the area.

Everything bagel (toasted with cream cheese)

I ordered a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese. I got my food quickly and the people working were friendly. The bagel was pretty standard. It tasted very similar to a lot of other "everything" bagels I've had. The same goes for the cream cheese. The price is very reasonable and slightly cheaper than other options. I'd go again if I didn't want anything fancy or different.

Absolutely cute cafe here in city terrace. My green juice drink was exactly what I wanted in a green juice. Hubby got a tropical milk smoothie (effects of Hawaii lol) and an almond croissant. Everything was really good. Outside seating is really lovely with light jazz playing.

Awesome little cafe that's locally owned. Their tuna torta was excellent. I could tell they freshly mixed the tuna and the assembly was neat, veggies super fresh ($11). The toasted bread was so light and delicious. Got a watermelon agua Fresca and they freshly made it too. So good and worth the $5. It's a cute homey space with a ton of hummingbirds flying around the feeder, butterflies, and plants outside. Love it and definitely will be back!

I forgot to update about the ginger ale -it was delicious. And it was a warm weekend so it was perfect. If she still stocks it, def a good drink with her sandwiches on a warm day.

Zenaida's Cafe in East LA is an oasis in the heart of the city. The food is fresh and delicious, and the peaceful vibes make it the perfect escape from everyday life. The patio offers a welcoming, relaxing space where you can unwind and savor every bite. What really sets this place apart, though, is the owner--she's sweet, personable, and gives amazing service that makes you feel right at home. If you're looking for a place to enjoy an early breakfast or an afternoon smoothie, make time to stop by on your next day off--your taste buds will thank you!

This time my husband got the Granada which was recommended to us by Henry and I got my usual Legendary. All in all this is the experience we had been wanting to have and I'm so glad we went back. Thank you to Henry, again, for going out of his way to make us feel welcomed and well attended. Plus, when you have cheese, the juice from the meat, and other sauce in it, Mayo is just confusing and unnecessary. The sandwich itself tasted good, but it was a lot of bread for the meat and toppings served. I would've appreciated having some of the bread hollowed out. But if you like lots of bread, then this is your jam. Price is decent for this day and age, and it was a big sandwich. I might come back and try the patty melt. I love Patty melts

Ulew started in 2023 as a pop-up on the corner of Olympic & Soto selling natural juices. Now they have a café where they also serve Guatemalan coffee, pastries, and traditional & creative food options. The entrance is a bit tricky. Go through the doorway by the flower shop and proceed down the hallway. You place your order off to the right and on the left of the hall is the dining area. The lounge is warm & welcoming. It feels and looks like you are in someone's living room. The walls are lined with artwork by local artists, which are for sale, and there are even books & board games for your entertainment. Our order consisted of Café de Olla, Café Del Dia, Latte De La Barrio, and a Jalapeño Cream Cheese Croissant. My Café de Olla was perfect. The first sip was a delight on the palate. I could taste the notes of spices and a hint of orange. The other two beverages were just as good. The bold, richness of the coffee stood out on the Café Del Dia, and the Latte De La Barrio was delicious. I also liked the traditional clay mugs in which they were served. (Large orders are served in a to-go cup.) The Jalapeño Cream Cheese Croissant was also exceptionally good. The croissant was flaky & fluffy with a generous amount of cream cheese filling and jalapeño slices. In addition to the locals, about 10 police officers came in for breakfast. A true testament to how good this place is. I must mention that the staff are incredibly friendly here. The lady at the register, the man who brought us our order and kept checking on us, and the guy who bussed our table. Not only do they care about serving quality food & drink but they also care about their customers' overall experience. *Street parking.

Sandwich was massive, however, it was mostly lettuce. Didn't notice from the pictures that the sandwiches aren't very balanced between meats and veggies. It's my personal preference for some more balance or flavor in a sandwich, peppers/onions/seasonings. Honestly, Jersey Mike's seasons their veggies better. I will say the bread at this deli was a notch above Jersey Mike's which is definitely a plus as good bread can make or break a sandwich. Mozzarella sticks were great, although they were normal sticks nothing out of the ordinary but I've definitely had worse sticks (looking at you Prince St Pizza...) so I'd recommend them if fried cheese is your jam! Service counter young lady was nice, she was quick and helpful with her suggestions. Small store, kind of looks like a convenience store and then the deli counter is on the right of the entrance and cashier is in the back. Easy ordering process. Parking is in the back, limited spaces. No inside seating available from what I saw, just counter to order and that's it. Grab and go type of spot for sure. Place was OK - if I lived closer, I would think it's an ok spot to come more often but I would not go out of my way to come.

Instead of ordering a philly cheesesteak, I ended up ordering the Big Boy fries, which are fries topped with chili, beef, and pastrami. I realized they had philly cheesesteak fries after I ordered those, and in hindsight I wish I had gotten the philly cheesesteak fries. The Big Boy fries were still amazing though. tl;dr the Dutch crunch rolls highlight an otherwise standard lineup of hearty deli sandwiches…read more The Los Angeles sandwich scene ranges from terrific tortas to farmer's market-on-a-bun, but few spots have embraced the Bay Area's beloved Dutch crunch roll. These slightly sweet hoagie rolls are coated with rice flour, creating an addictively crunchy, tortoise-shell top. While hard to find, Dutch crunch rolls are the specialty at Ghost Sando Shop. This small sandwich chain (from the mind of NorCal native and former Chipotle exec Benjamin Sales) debuted in the Fairfax District, and it has expanded to Orange County and the Valley. Every sandwich at Ghost Sando sports a Dutch crunch roll, and the lineup has achieved TikTok fame. Briefly, Grand Central Market is a semi-outdoor industrial market turned upscale food court. The sky-high walls are painted white, and the concrete floors are slickly polished. Even during the day, only a few rays of sunshine enter through the skylight roof, leaving each vendor's neon sign to pop. During busy hours, expect foot traffic shoulder-to-shoulder through the narrow aisleways. Here, Ghost Sando has a central stall near the wide stairwell. You can't miss the bright teal paint or custom green neon sign. The walls are tastefully decked with hexagon tile and wooden slats. The sandwich production line is front and center, and staff members buzz around even well after the weekday lunch rush. Stools are pressed up against the long stainless steel bar counter, guaranteeing a seat for customers. My partner and I visited Ghost Sando for a weekday lunch, but our food was prepared relatively quickly. Immediately, I was shocked by the sheer density of the sandwiches. Rolled into compact cylinders, the weight could have fooled me into thinking they were bricks. The "Large" size was plenty for even a hefty appetite, but I can't imagine how anyone could tackle the double-topping "XX Large" portions. I also enjoyed the unique Dutch crunch loaf -- consider holding your sandwich upside-down to fully appreciate the crispy shell. Otherwise, the sandwiches were more standard than spectacular. The cold cuts are more like grocery store variety than premium deli, and the veggies are only a step above Subway. I preferred the mildly spicy Firebird to the warm-ish Pastrami Mami, but neither blew my socks off. The service is mostly disengaged, and the sandwiches run from $15 each. Reasonably, a sandwich can be extended across 2 meals. The sandos are mostly standard, but the Dutch crunch rolls are mildly addictive. While Ghost Sando is not a reason alone to pay GCM a visit, it is a filling and reliable bet for routine DTLA lunch.
