The family recipes originated in Zacatecas, Mexico have been passed down from generation to generation. The traditional dishes, house-made sauces keep their loyal customers returning. Let's start with food, I came here with my two brothers, and all three of us shared the same opinion nice presentation food and service different story. We went on Mother's Day and asked for a booth as my brothers stand over 6'3 (they wanted to be comfy) we were denied although all booths were empty. So our introduction was already weird from the start. Nevertheless we proceed to order our food. They're only a few other guests in the restaurant we could count the tables on one hand. We ordered enchiladas , Chilaquiles , shrimp tacos , sope & chile relleno (our experience is well endowed) they were out of nearly everything on their menu which is why everything is so different - add more Serrano peppers to your sauce and season it with chicken bouillon!! Sauce was not mild it was tomato puree. Everything had the same flavor I think we just went on an off day because the presentation was amazing !! Service was great !!!! Huge shoutout to our waitress who was doing her best !!! To the man who was there that day making seating arrangements. You should be more than obliged to give customers the option to make requests on where they sit especially when it's empty and continued to stay empty throughout the duration of our 1 hour reservation. read more

First time going to Teresitas restaurant our experience was nothing short of spectacular from parking to the delicious food and service. I invited my mom wife and my two sister in laws for breakfast. What we ordered for breakfast as followed. Menudo. 2 orders of Huevos Rancheros. Huevos con Chorizo. Nopales con Huevo all served with coffee. I had the steak ranchera with guacamole, and it was excellent! The skirt steak was well seasoned (very flavorful), juicy and meaty. The beans were not pasty at all; they were full of body and had a nice bite. The rice was like I remember from eating friends homes when I was a child (I loved it). I've become a regular here! It's good and tastes homemade. It's simple traditional flavors you can count on. I haven't had a bad dish here. Also love the family friendly environment, the owners & staff are always very welcoming and attentive. Another perk is that they have a free parking lot! It's great for groups too! I work in the area and we bring people here all the time. When someone asks where can we go to eat? This is where I recommend. Did I mention a free and easy parking lot?! Food I've had here: Calabasitas, fideo, sopes, burritos, burrito Azteca (so good & massive), enchiladas, guacamole, taquitos, flautas, caldos, and my favorite is Wednesday's special-puerco en salsa. As you can tell I've had a lot of their menú. I really enjoyed my visit, food was good, vibes were awesome and the server was great. People really like this place, it was busy the entire time and we had gone for Sunday breakfast. A large family had gotten together for a birthday. Portions were a little on the larger side but nothing humongous. The only reason I wont be returning is because of the prices. My husband and I each got a chilaquiles plate with steak, a regular coffee and a coke. Prices were steep, we paid over $60. Don't think we got a whole ass steak either, it was just a few chunks, but nothing to justify the price. In my eyes, Teresita's is one of ELA's best Mexican restaurant. With its classic Mexican dishes to festive ambiance, and impeccable service. You won't be disappointed by coming here and will have a great dinning experience. We came today for Sunday Brunch to celebrate my wife's step mother's birthday. We were a party of 6 and got seated pretty quickly. Our waitress immediately greeted us and took our drink order and brought chips and salsa to our table. I had the egg combination that came with potatoes, beans, and bacon. My wife had the chilaquiles that came with beans, potatoes, and eggs. Both dishes were incredible and so delicious. The entire table enjoyed their meal and we all had a great time celebrating the birthday girl. Our waitress was amazing and brought Flan with a candle which just made our step mom's day. This is definitely our go to spot when in the area, we've been coming here for years. We always recommend this spot to family and friends. I decided to try out this restaurant after viewing and Instagram video from Edward James Olmos, he said Teresita's had the best Mexican food in L.A. I visited Teresita's today and the food was good, but not as good as other places I have eaten at. While I was eating my food I overheard the waitress tell another customer that they had fresh handmade tortillas, so when she came to my table to check on us, I asked her for a side order of them and she told me they had just ran out...really??? Interesting you just offered them to the other table but now you're out of them...okay sure...then I recalled they had a sign as soon as you walked in stating they had "capirotada" today. During another time she came back to our table to pick up the plates, I asked her if we could get a capirotada plate so my mom could try it, she said unfortunately they didn't have any, they only have it Friday and weekdays if they have any left over. So, I told her they had a sign by the front door saying they were serving it today. So, she said no sorry we don't have any. I thanked her for her services and paid our bill. Overall, the restaurant was clean and the food was good, but this restaurant will be on my never again list. read more

This is a casual family restaurant that has been here for years. Came for lunch after a meeting with a group of friends, after not being here for many years. Decor and ambience is great, and we had a nice table for 6 of us. Review of food, however is mixed: - Complimentary tortilla chips - 1/5 - they were stale. - Machaca and Eggs - 4/5 - I ordered this dish and really enjoyed it! The machaca and eggs had tomato chunks, green peppers and onions and was flavorful. Came with beans and potatoes in a tomato-ey sauce which were both good. - Menudo - 1/5 - JJ ordered this, as he absolutely loves menudo. But he didn't like it, and definitely would not recommend it. He couldn't eat it, because it smelled and had a bad taste (worse than canned menudo). Our friend also ordered the menudo, and he could not eat it either. So our friend ordered a plate of machaca and eggs, which he enjoyed. JJ also had some of his machaca which he also liked. Service was friendly and efficient. I am bumping up my overall score from 2 to 3, because JJ took home his leftover menudo and tried doctoring it up the next day. He added Las Palmas red Chile enchilada sauce (which he usually adds to canned menudo). It tasted okay, and he was able to eat it. So it wasn't a total waste. read more

The man who owns the business has always been so nice and welcoming, and they just added a beautiful portrait of his mother that adds to the vibrant space. The food always tastes so fresh and it's never too much or too little food like some other restaurants. Fair prices for amazing food! Late review but stumbled upon this restaurant a few weeks ago. We were starving with a group of friends and we went here based on the reviews. It was a very hot sunny day and the inside was not to fresh but it was cool enough to enjoy our meals. We enjoyed a variety of plates that literally look the same but each tasted different! The burrito could have been a bit more flavorful with the meat and sauce but it did the job. Everyone said the food was good just a bit more flavor would have made a difference. Customer service was great and they even have a celebratory flan for one of our friends. Oh... the salsas are not spicy and literally feels like two spoonfuls of sauce in the little container... times are tough! The decor inside is cultural and colorful. The prices are decent. About $120 to $130 for 5 people including drinks. Ample parking! read more

I recently met a friend for lunch and ordered the mole, chicken and cheese enchiladas. Mole is a complex sauce, and the 30 plus ingredients came through. Mind you the steak portion piece is not huge BUT the entire plate was worth it. The GREEN chilaquiles are spicy the Red is just as good but not spicy at all.
