Chilaquiles were delicious! Great news it's no longer cash only! You can pay via zelle. Very authentic Mexican food (my husband can vouch for this as well). My friends go here quite a lot and they love it!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. It definitely felt like a local hole-in-the-wall spot with a comfortable feel that definitely places you on the eastside. Boyle Heights, without a doubt! There are ample parking spaces in the back and you can enter/exit through the back or the front. The service is on point. The complimentary salsas (two levels of spice and texture) as well as the fresh guacamole (muy rico!) with the restaurant style tortilla chips are a great enticing introduction to what you're about to eat. I ordered the enchiladas de pollo (chicken enchiladas) con mole based on another review that I read (this was not on the menu) and was pretty satisfied with my meal. Moles la Tia, in my opinion, still has the best mole in the area but this was still a great meal and definitely made me full with the frijoles (beans) y arroz (beans and rice) combination. The jamaica was good and my friend was satisfied with her flautas combination and horchata. I would definitely come back when I'm craving a "home cooked" type of meal and a comforting atmosphere. It's a great place to stop in during a work lunch since the service is pretty fast. I'm still salivating thinking about their guacamole and salsas. I should have taken them "to go" :)

First time here today and I was pleasantly surprised by this super cute hole in the wall restaurant! Such great Mexican food! The most expensive thing on the menu was probably $9 so it's definitely affordable! *^*^*~CASH ONLY *^*^*^*~ Everything is home cooked! The salsa, the warm freshly made tortilla chips! The pico de gallo with its nice kick. The very hot jalapeños and carrots and onion curtido! So right when you enter before you get your free salsa and chips, you'll notice the frescoes! The murals not only outside but inside the small restaurant! So beautiful and colorful! They have quetzals and women in traditional Mexican clothing. They have every table with a poster from a tourist Destination in Mexico. They have landscapes of realistic Mexican countrysides and pyramids. The walls have artisanal clay decorations. An eclectic taste of Mexican art and beauty. Needless to say very happy and homey dinning ambiance. I ordered a giant chicken quesadilla. Guacamole was not extra! Also came with a side of beans and cheese all for $6! Delicious. There was a lot of cheese and chewy grilled chicken. I hate when a quesadilla doesn't have the right chicken to cheese ratio. This one was perfect. I also had a Jamaica. Ok. Jamaica is tricky because I've had some that are too sweet that you can tell there was an artificial product added. Whether it be artificial sugar like corn syrup or sweetener. This was not the case at Los Antojitos. Which if you don't know, translates to the lil cravings. I had a big craving for Jamaica and I was happy it was homemade and not ridiculously sweet. I could taste the slight bitterness of the jamaica flower! My uncle had the huevos rancheros. Not spicy and very runny in sauce. He mentioned how funny it is to go to different Mexican restaurants and see their huevos rancheros style. He was happy with this new one. Overall. TL;DR A++ yelp friendly, has won awards. Homemade with love. Authentic, affordable, Mexican food. (Cops eat here a lot because the police department is right in front/ waitress and menu are bilingual. ) *Easy parking out front and in the back. Breakfast is not served all day and ends at noon.

It's more 3 3/4 star. The albondigas was pretty good. I didn't need to add much just a splash of lime and some pepper and it was perfect to taste. I'm use to albondigas with certain vegetables but here they had cabbage in it. It was pretty good. The salsa was delicious. Perfectly spiced. I practically drank the bowl of salsa with the crispy tortilla chips. On the other hand, the enchilada and chile relleno plate was underwhelming. The sauce was basic and didn't have the good spices I'm used to. The beans was also bland. So, the dishes had me conflicted. One dish was pretty good the other was not. Just avoid the chile relleno and enchilada.

This is my favorite restaurant in all of Los Angeles. It is super clean, has the friendliest service anywhere and the food is fresh and delicious. Please know it is a "cash only" restaurant. It is frequented by the local LAPD, LAFD and several local politicians, so *you KNOW* the menu and food is good. I'm a picky eater put I pick Los Antojitos as my favorite restaurant in LA because I get the most for my dollar here. Of course there are the "uppity" restaurants in DTLA which I love -for the special occasion and where you will PAY dearly- but for a place that feels and tastes like home, this is it.

Stopped in to try the albondiga soup (based on a recommendation of a friend) and I was greeted by a very friendly server that made feel at home. Turns out the food (and service) is great! I will be going back to sample more

Portions were great for sharing, and the sauces really tied everything together. Service was friendly and our server checked in on us throughout the night without making us feel rushed. It did get a little busy, so there were a few waits between courses, but nothing that took away from the experience. I've been to plenty of Dine LA restaurants and have never experienced this. The service wasn't necessarily bad, but it was very dismissive. No apology, no real explanation--they basically just brushed it off. Thankfully, the food saved the night! The Michelada oysters were TO DIE FOR--seriously one of the best oyster flavors I've ever had. We also had the short rib plate, which was delicious. The outdoor atmosphere and decor are really cute too. I would come back, but ONLY for those oysters--definitely not for the service.

Sonoratown was our first stop as it was highly recommended by my boyfriend's brother, and it did not disappoint. It immediately earned a spot in our top five favorite taco spots for carne asada in all of Southern California! The location that we went to is located in between Elysium DTLA and Perfumeria Starlux on E 8th St in downtown LA. There is only paid(?) street parking around the area that could be extremely difficult to find during work days. Because we couldn't snag a spot, my friends and I opted for takeout and didn't end up eating until about 30 minutes later. Despite the travel time, the tacos were still absolutely incredible--I can only imagine how spectacular it tastes fresh! My friends and I ordered the carne asada tacos, and my boyfriend opted for the cabeza. Before I even took a full bite, I tasted a piece of the loose carne asada and was blown away; it was perfectly cooked with a wonderful tenderness and deep smokiness. The use of a single, thin, handmade flour tortilla--rather than the standard double corn--was a total game-changer and exactly how I preferred my tacos. The salsas were equally impressive, offering fantastic flavor and a great kick. My boyfriend's cabeza taco was just as standout, featuring super-tender meat with a rich, savory profile. Wowowow! Between the exceptional meat quality, bold flavors, and great value, this is easily one of the best taco spots I've visited. It's a huge bummer that they don't have a location down in San Diego, but we will definitely be back!

Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. Valet parking or park across the street or around the corner in a lot for $5-10.
