    Handmade corn tortillas (3)
    Vickie V.

What do you do when you don't have friends who invite you to a carne asada on Memorial Day? You use a delivery service to get your carne asada so you don't have FOMO. I typed carne asada in the search bar for Uber Eats and came upon this hole in the wall that some described as a hidden gem. This is no diamond, this was coal folks. Let's start off with the carnitas taco. This taco was so salty it was inedible and I'm not one to waste food. It also contained way too much fat but while you can pick that out, there's nothing you can do about the salt. It was an absolute no for me and was given to the cats outside. As for the combo, it supposedly came with a little salad and guacamole. I asked that the salad be replaced with extra beans and/or rice. As you can see, there is no salad but the rice and bean portions look the same. Also, what happened to my guacamole?! The beans were pretty good as was the carne asada. Were they the best beans? No, but they passed the vibe test. As for the meat, no, it is not marinated like it would be at your uncle's with cerveza but it did have a good flavor to it. You can also see that they throw in a slice of a potato, a grilled green onion and a jalapeño. The potato and onion were good; I didn't try the jalapeño. Now let's talk about the rice. I don't know what recipe or region this rice came from but why does it taste like it had cloves? I absolutely hate cloves and picked up such an essence immediately. I thought it was impossible for anyone to mess up rice as this girl loves carbs but I have found a place that managed to achieve that goal. Lastly, the handmade corn tortillas. You get three and they're a pretty nice size. These are a nice touch as they're handmade. Definitely enjoyed the tortillas albeit for their simple and nostalgic nature. If you haven't discerned by now that this is not a place I will be ordering from again, I'm reiterating that point for you now.

    Carnitas Burrito

The burritos are so good! A lot of meat in it. The carnitas is crispy and flavorful. There's also pork skin inside. My favorite carnitas burrito for sure. Will go back!

Costillas de puerco in salsa verde.

If you don't finish your food and want to take it home they charge you $1 per container. There is a sign but only in Spanish that does not state the amount to be charged. Other than that the costillas de puerco was tasty . Menudo is all meat and no hominy if you are expecting some in it. One star is for the hospitality and service.

This hole in the wall restaurant can easily be missed if you are just driving by. We were going to eat at George's but decided on this place once we checked out the menu. We ordered two different soups, one menudo and one caldo de res. It took around 15 minutes to get our food but they brought out all the fixings and what seemed like hand made thick corn tortillas. Home style cooking is what you'll get here but one thing I didn't care for was the lack of hominy in my menudo.

Tacos de Carne Asada y Al Pastor

Randomly ran into this little gem. The food is absolutely amazing! My expectations for Mexican style food is set really high since my Mom is an amazing cook. I came to have lunch with my mom here and we both absolutely loved it. Michoacán style food. Super authentic and feels right at home. The rice and beans are perfection. I ordered Carne Asada and Al Pastor tacos. The tortillas are handmade, huge and they really fill it up. The Al Pastor was perfectly made. So good. The Camarones a La Plancha are amazing as well. My mom was so impressed and pleased with the flavors. They are super filling. They really do fill up your plates. The Salsa is so spicy and good! I got the Green Agua and it's also a must try! I definitely would return and recommend to anyone wanting some authentic food.

I had the address on my car navigation but as I drove up to the block I noticed the 4 Vientos truck and wrongly assumed this was Jalisco. So I turned it and promptly ordered at the truck. I did briefly question why the signage was different but the long queues and the delicious looking morsels that everyone around me were eating made me assume once again that I was at the right place. In my ignorance, I did not know that this entire stretch of Olympic Blvd was home to many such mariscos and taco trucks. In any case, I ordered. I ate. I was plenty satisfied and more than impressed and it wasn't until after I got home and did more research that I realized I was at the 4 Vientos truck. Well, no harm done. It just meant I needed to go back for the Jalisco truck very soon. Fresh seafood! Excellent tostadas. You can't go wrong!

The avocado and salsa on top also added creaminess and freshness. It wasn't as flavorful compared to a similar taco from the nearby Mariscos Jalisco, but I did enjoy the raw seafood and fresh flavors. Social media brought me here and I'm unsure if I would come back again due to personal experience. If a friend wants to come by I wouldn't object to it but I wouldn't make my way out here on my own. Food was good but no wow factor, skip to the bottom for food description. My fluently Spanish speaking friend called in the order to avoid us waiting too long. I went to pick it up with different friend ( we both don't speak Spanish..). We told the staff that we called in the order she went in and grabbed the receipt $74.25 total. I handed her $84.25 she went inside with our money while we waited. She came back out with the box of food neatly packed, receipt taped to box didn't have any dollar amount only the list of what was ordered. I asked her "my change? my money" she looked at me stunned.. and she said "oh your change..." She came back out with five $1 bills and a single $5 bill. She had in one hand my receipt and $1 plus a $5 bill on top of the receipt covering, totaling $6 while she was handing me that she said "seis dinero." I kept telling her "no I need $10.. I gave you $84.25.." She still said "yes $6." One hand had $6 with my receipt, other hand the $4. I pulled my calculator out and typed in 84.25 to show her. She said "yes $10" and handed me all the bills.. I'm not sure what was miscommunicated or what was misunderstood.. but there was no reason for her to hold the other $4 in her other hand if she wanted to give me back a total of $10 in change. I later see on the printed receipt that whoever manned the registered entered only $80.25 Tostada Aguachile Verde -good, flavorful and fresh. Al Gobernador (tacos)- Sinaloa type of shrimp tacos. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and not overly cooked. Shrimp was super flavorful paired with chopped onions and bell peppers. My favorite out of the things we tried. This might be a better option if you personally don't really like tortilla that's just heated up and not fried. Ensenada Camaron (tacos)- shrimp was a bit overcooked under the batter. Batter was light and fluffy. Didn't personally like the tortilla it's served on. Dorados (tacos)- seems to be their signature dish, deep fried shrimp tacos. Shell was crispy and shrimp inside is well seasoned and doesn't come out overcooked. Good but not wow. Ensenada Pescado (tacos)- fish was buttery and flakey, batter was light and fluffy. Also didn't like the tortillas it's served on.
