Ordered the small menudo- taste was flavorful however a bit too salty and menudo pieces were a bit too big. My friend had huevos rancheros and said they were delicious and tasted very authentic.. they serve handmade corn tortillas. Restaurant was very clean including restroom. Hidden gem mom and pop restaurant in Boyle heights. Lived all my life and never gone until now because I was invited and was so disappointed I hadn't gone sooner. Food was flavorful and handmade tortillas were delicious. The fresh orange juice and agua Fresca de piña were refreshing. Service was good and quick and they were pretty busy went during breakfast hours. Will defenitly return to try more things. Been passing by this place for a while now and decided to try it out for breakfast. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by employees working the kitchen. I ordered papas con huevo plate, a chicken taco and my partner ordered the chilaquiles with eggs. Right off, they serve you freshly fried tortilla chips and salsa. That salsa was tasty. My plate was okay, I wish the papas had onion & tomato, but they still were tasty. My partner liked his chilaquiles plate. The food is good. The atmosphere is a little distracting with vendors and musicians coming in and out asking for money. The only concern that you must keep an eye out is the additional hidden charges they will add to your check. If your plate cost $19, it will be $20. Your agua Fresca $3, they add $1.50, etc. I am having to dispute the charges every time I come here. It can get old. Ugh! read more

It's been over 2 years an decided to try it again, these are the items we ordered Menudo Steak and eggs *steak and eggs were good *Menudo, it had the funky flavor when you don't clean completely the menudo, they need to try vinegar or lemon when it's washed to kill the ugly flavor, Another thing that consumers don't pay attention to, the drinks, that's the first thing they offer, it's astronomical expensive a cup of coffee, $3.50 Wow Starbuck large regular coffee is not even $3.00 watch out. Our usual weekend spot closes early during the week so we decided to try our luck, to our surprise the food was great & the price was right. Location: Busy Cesar E Chavez Avenue (formerly Brooklyn) between Breed St & Cornwell St. Right next door the to a nail salon on the corner of Breed St. Parking: Street and city public parking lot one block east behind Cesar Chavez businesses. Environment: Customer areas are clean, main room is colorful, has plastic papel picado banners as well as a a large LCD screen. An annoying juke box turns on every once in a while but has been turned down on occasion. Staff has always been pleasant, the lady cooks are a bit curt but seem like they are doing the brunt of the work so I let them be. lol Food: Portions are inline wth the price.
