SOOOOOO wanted to love this place. I've been hearing about it for years. We took our kids there, full hype mode. Waited 20 minutes, finally got a chocolate chip and brownie cookie. The moment of truth is here. We all dig in and that's where the hype train falls off the rails. The chocolate chip cookie was dull. In every way. It was lukewarm. The chips were mostly solid. The actual dough tasted void of flavor; a vague sweetness and that was about it. The texture was dry. I moved on to the brownie cookie hoping for a redemption and didn't find one. Nothing sumptuous, gooey, or rich in either one. It is so very disappointing when you find yourself passing on a cookie the size of your head not because you can't take another bite but because you don't want to. I try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt but if you're only going to serve two things and charge what you're charging for them you better hit them out of the park, or rather the forest in this case. I gave two stars because maybe the pizza is respectable but the cookies are definitely not. You can get away with that kind of quality with little kids but they have to do better if they want to make me a believer. read more

CUTE SPOT! I love a good family business! The two employees taking orders were sisters and seemed pretty young, teenager age? They were so nice! I got the cookie sampler which included the current seasonal cookie, which is Pumpkin Nut right now. These aren't the best cookies I've ever had, but they were good and worth a try. They take the cookies out of a warmer once you order them, they aren't sitting around getting cold or stale, they stay nice and warm. I like the gimmick of the cookies being so large they're the size of a plate. If you're coming up to Mount Lemmon, you should definitely check this place out! The cookie cabin is an experience that probably wouldn't work anywhere other than where it is but fits perfectly in the tiny Mt. Lemon town it exists within. There will most surely be a line so if it is a cool day, know it is going to be much colder up on Mt. Lemon so bring a jacket. The service is incredibly slow, but the staff is sweet, but takes a comically long amount of time to take each individual order. Deciding (at least in our case) to take each portion of the order and fulfill it before moving on to the next portion. I ordered a cookie, so the cashier, went and got my cookie, then since I wanted ice cream, she took the cookie back and put ice cream on it. Then i ordered a drink and she ran off to get that. I feel like it would have been much more efficient for them to take my entire order and go back to the kitchen one time. To take our party of 3's order took around 5 minutes, and we only ordered Cookies and drinks. While a cute little cabin there is little to no space inside of the cookie cabin for more than a few people. The cookies themselves were ok and expensive but large. Honestly, too large for one person. The cookie cabin is not the reason you should visit Mt. Lemon, but if you are already up there it is a neat stop. I took my first drive up Mt. Lemmon yesterday in the CanAm with my boyfriend and he took me here, to the Cookie Cabin! He said he used to come here as a kid with his family and wanted me to have the same experience. While the food seems a bit on the pricey side you actually recieve a lot of food, especially the giant cookies which take up a whole plate. We each ordered a half slice of pepperoni pizza and shared a chocolate chip cookie. Thankfully we only got one cookie...we couldn't finish it so we brought half home. The cabin is situated back from a road and is surrounded by an outdoor eating area. The location is gorgeous and quiet and serene. I would love to come back one day! read more

Cute little snack shop stop on the mountain and a perfect setting for a pizza and cookie. We had the pepperoni pizza and a brownie. The pizza we good but the star was the brownie for $8 you get a large 9 inch chocolate brownie with white chocolate chips and sprinkles. The brownie was baked perfectly and had a rich chocolate flavor and worth the money. This is a must for anyone visiting us in Tucson. We always have to go up Mt Lemmon to show the diversity of our beautiful area. After a hike, this is a great place to stop for a treat before heading back down the mountain. Last time we took someone there, they got the sampler cookie, which is 7 cookies made into one. It gave them a taste of all of them and they could pick a favorite. I got the white chocolate macadamia, always a favorite for me. I went around 2pm and they close at 5pm... they had most cookies not available so my guest and I decided to get the original chocolate chip with vanilla ice cream. They said it would have take 20min or more for a different type of cookie. I did not want to wait that long. Rock hard. Bland. And the owner is pushy... pushy for me to leave a tip along with telling me I should buy 2 stickers since it was cheaper. I didn't want two of the same sticker, so no. I was very excited to try a cookie at the cookie cabin. I love cookies however these were not good. Service was very slow and not worth the 20 minute wait. The cookie was very,very dry. We all took a bite and threw away 80% of the cookie. I was with five teenagers and they are vacuum cleaners for food and they didn't even finish. I'm so glad I only got one to try first before ordering and not several ( we had a group of 8). I would have been annoyed at paying $9 a cookie if I had bought several. We came here several times during the great monsoon of 2021. I have figured out why some negative reviews complained about dry/crumbly cookies. They need to be eaten fresh/dine-in. We observed that the cookies sit in a warming oven while waiting to be sold. This makes them ideal for dine-in but surely drys them out for take-home (which is where most of those complaints originated). So, eat them there! Staff is family run and super friendly... as in kids-to-grownups. As for dine-in, yes, the line is usually long. On a Saturday early afternoon we waited almost an hour, scowling making our way from the front patio, up the stairs, and finally into the cabin. On a weekday, the wait was much shorter, maybe only 20 minutes. If you order only cookies (whether with or w/o ice cream) you'll get them handed to you right away. If you order pizza (which at $30 for a 14" we never did) you will have it delivered by a staff member about 20 minutes later. I strongly recommend getting the sampler cookie (it's 5 smaller ones all baked so they are touching/stuck to each other like a cookie starfish). This way you get to try most of their varieties. But be ware, they sometimes run out of the Sampler cookie. Ala mode is also highly encouraged... a) because they are warm and b) because they are cookies! Water is free and the lone bathroom is clean, although the wait there can be a bit long too. Parking is the only challenge, so be prepared to walk a bit too (maybe drop someone off to start waiting in line, then park)! read more

Our adult kids and other out-of-state visitors like to stop here for the giant cookies. They're served on paper plates and fill them. As far as cookies go, they taste fine but are expensive. In the winter, it's nice to sit inside by the fireplace. The "cabin" has a bit of a mountain lodge feel. In the summer, there is seating on the deck and in front/below the entry. It's much more peaceful in the winter, though we sometimes have made the drive up to enjoy the snow and found the Cookie Cabin closed. In the summer, this place can get crazy. Some people make this their lunch stop since they serve pizza. There are only two other options in Summerhaven, so the line sometimes goes out the door and to the patio below. In our opinion, unless you're staying on the mountain for the rest of the day, you're better off eating when you get back to Tucson. read more

I ate the ice cream with other cookies too, but the side-by-side combination between the ice cream and brownie cookie was highly visually appealing and also tasted so so good. All the cookies were good, and the oatmeal raisin was better than I expected, as I'm not a fan of that flavor. We were feeling indecisive so we ordered the cookie sampler. It was pretty good and hit the spot after our hike. The cookies were nice and warm. The seasonal pumpkin came with a glaze.
