Snake bite
Briana R.

Ciao down, ciao down, how I love thee! They've focused on their hop shop concept over the last couple years and I've been missing the ciao down experience over the last couple years. My prayers were answered when they brought their concept to my side of town! This locally owned pizza shop is unlike any other. Their dough recipe results in a crispy exterior yet soft chewy interior. The snake bite is truly legendary and is a must try. I normally avoid restaurants when they first open but we came opening week and it ran so smoothly with the best service, amazing food, and a beautiful interior. As expected, because of their tremendous restaurant experience, they crushed opening week! They have executed on every level with their new restaurant in Oro Valley and I am so excited for this locally owned business to grow!

We were very impressed with this small pizza place in Oro Valley. The sister location to the main dodge location. The dough is light and hand tossed drizzled with olive oil. It's a super light crust with light sauce. Nice varieties with a featured pizza that rotates. They have a small covered patio that was dog friendly. The staff was so nice and even accommodated my poodle with a side of chicken. Adding this place to our list for sure!

Pickle pizza?! Count me in! The "Big Dill" pizza was so unique, I loved it! The garlic cream sauce paired with the dill pickles and fresh dill dipping sauce was excellent. We also tried the "Whole Shebang" pizza which was similar to a supreme. The dough was so tasty and we learned that they make it fresh daily at their Dodge location. The pizzas were 10inches and had 6 slices per pie. The menu stated you can do GF or DF with no additional charge. Ciao Down Pizza Studio is located next to First Watch on Oracle. The restaurant isn't very big on the inside. There are two tables for 6, three booths and high top seating that looks over the kitchen. There is outdoor seating available too. The service was awesome, great conversation! I'm excited to go back and try some of their other unique pizzas!

Our entire family was sooooo sad when the Tucson Ciao Down closed a while back. We loved their pizza and their collab with The Hop Shop was amazing! We're hopeful that maybe they'll bring it back in the future. But in the meantime we decided to drive 30 mins up to the new location so we can get our fix. We arrived around 12p on Sunday and were able to get a table quickly. There's seating for about 15 inside and a number of tables outside. The staff was friendly and helpful. My wife decided to get two pizzas, a Big Dill and a split pizza with 1/2 Mother Clucker and 1/2 Heat Wave. The pizza came out hot, steamy and delicious. Our server even wrote us a kind note on our to go box! While it's a bit of a drive, it's good to know we can still get Ciao Downs stellar pizza.

Leaving a 4-star review because they are better than a 3 and YELP doesn't allow for a 3.5. Service was friendly and inviting, but a little slow and distracted. They weren't very busy with only us inside (party of 2) and a table outside (table of 5 or 6.) It appeared they just opened for business, as their outside signage is temporary and their soft drinks are from cans, but apparently they've been open since last year. There's little seating outside and seating inside. It's a nice and clean environment. They have some desserts near the cash register you can grab and go. Pepperoni pizza was flavorful. I had their Whole Shebang and it wasn't as flavorful as the pepperoni which was weird because it has some pepperoni on it. Both pizzas could have been cooked a bit longer for our tastes. The Ciao's Caesar Salad was tasty and I enjoyed it. Cold water in a carafe on the table was a nice addition, too! Overall, we would come back but ask for our pizzas to be well done.

What a fabulous place! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the friendliest server. Since it was our first time, she gave us the low down on ordering our pizza. We started with the marinated olives as an appetizer. We received a very generous bowl of olives that easily could have served three or four people. The olives were well seasoned and not overly salty. Our veggie patch pizza came quickly. Wonderful fresh veggies and an outstanding crust. The pizzas come in only one size. We shared and had some leftover for breakfast (cold pizza)! The atmosphere is bright and cheery with outside seating which will be great once the weather warms up as they don't have outside heaters. I now know what all the hype is about and it is totally worth it!!!

Cute new place with plenty of parking in the strip mall it's located in. Lots of outdoor seating - wish we had sat outside as it was pretty chilly indoors. They have a couple of apps, but the menu is pretty much all pizza. They only have one size (10 inch I believe) which is too much for one person but not enough for two! We ordered two pizzas, the meatball and the Whole Shebang. We also had a beer - they have bottles only but it came in a nice chilled glass. The pizzas came out in about 15 minutes. The superstar here is the crust. It is light and puffy and crispy and smells like real dough. The toppings on the Whole Shebang were great, I really liked the little sausage slice "cups". The meatball pizza was very flavorful, but the Calabrian chiles were a little hot for me. Fortunately they are right on top so they were easily scraped off to cool things down for me (I'm a wimp). We ended up taking one whole pizza home, so I guess you can make do with splitting one of these. The crust has enough heft to it that it is quite filling. Our waitress was such a gem! She was so pleasant and had such a great sense of humor, it really made the evening for us. This is our new go-to pizza place in Oro Valley!!

This is a sister store to one downtown Tucson. Here it's like a strip Mall using an oven that is similar to Domino's conveyer belt style but they use the same ingredients as the mother store who has a true Italian wood fired oven. It was still the bomb!!! The two younger people running it were awesome and friendly. Saved a lot of drive time and the pizza was epic!!!
