One word .... FANTASTIC ! Not big but ample parking. Not great street appeal but ample seating with about 8 tables. BUT, the food was superb. Started with the Antipasto Salad, an exquisite mix of veggies, cheese, meats, olives and artichokes. Salad was enough for two and was a great starter. Ordered the Margarita pizza with added pepperoni. Basal was fresh and flavorful, must have been home grown. Crust was perfect with toasted edges and firm in the middle. Fresh tomatoes added to the flavor. Couldn't pass up the homemade Cannoli that caught my eye when we entered. Cream filling was light and fresh like sweet cream and chocolate chips adorned the ends. The small dollop of cinnamon flavored sauce paired nicely. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Chef brought pizza to the table himself. Very nice touch. Highly recommend without any reservations. The exterior look of the place in no way matches the delicious food that came out of the kitchen. We had heard about this place from a friend and when I pulled up, I almost backed up and what to another nearby restaurant instead. But you should never judge a book by its cover right? And the recommendation came from a friend with a great palate so I forged on. I am so glad I did! This place was magnificent. After the first couple of bites I was already planning what I would try on my next visit. We had the Polpo Special Salad, Shrimp al Olivo and Seafood Cioppino. Having been to Italy, this is the kind of Italian food I love! Not the overly garlic laden, cheese loaded monstrosities that Italian food has turned into in the US, but simple yet flavorful food that is not heavy and perfectly portioned. The Polpo Greca Special salad was amazing! I wish it would stay available for a return visit. The prices of Octopus were generous and cooked perfectly to retain a great chew and sweetness. Served with red onion, tomato, cucumber, Kalamata olives, basil, avocado, feta cheese, a breadstick and a delicious lemon and olive oil dressing. It was so simple and flavorful that it instantly took me back to a little cafe off the coast of Capri. Great start to a great meal. The Shrimp al Olivo was equally simplistic and amazing. A tomato sauce evenly flavored with garlic, green olives, white wine and basil. The perfect example of less is more. All of the flavors incorporated seamlessly. The Seafood Cioppino was almost the same dish but with fish, mussels and clams added. The plates weren't huge portions but satisfying. I actually would order concentrated flavor and presentation then a lot of food for not a lot of quality. We found out they make house made panettone and the pizzas looked amazing. I have to say, we have been driving past this place for years. This time we decided to take a chance and stop. I was at first hesitant because I didn't see any cars in the parking lot. Man am I glad I got over my hesitance. It's a small place nothing fancy or over done. Friendly service, super clean and homey. The food! It is so delicious! You would think because of the name that it's an Italian Mexican fusion but it's just Italian in the most satisfying way. We had a slice of margherita pizza, my husband and I shared the los olivos salad and he has the pesce fritto so delicious. He just had to order the mussels, they came in a steaming pot filled with delicious garlic butter and the softest bread to sop up the garlic butter. I can't say enough about this place. read more

Really can go here and always find something to enjoy. All the dishes are great tasting. In the past I've had the pizzas. Every one I've ever tried has been quite tasty. On this occasion I had the meat ball sandwich and my friend had the calzone. The sandwich was perfect. Hit the spot with nice meatballs in a great marinara sauce perfectly topped with cheese on a great roll that was neither hard nor soft. It held up perfectly and was a pleasure to eat. The calzone was a decent size. Filled with sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella and ricotta. Looked amazing when they cut into it. I was told it was creamy, nicely flavored. One of the better calzones my friend has ever eaten. It disappeared quite fast so I believe it. Both the meatball sandwich and the calzone came with a side salad. If you decide to try this little place out, there is a small enclosed patio in which you can enjoy your meal or you can do take out like we did. The spaghetti and meatballs blew us away. The Sofrito sauce was extremely rich and had an amazing depth of flavor. Meatballs were also soft and slightly spicy. Everything was topped with fresh basil and was so fragrant. I have never seen my 23 month old eat so much spaghetti. The portion was a bit small, so order a side if you need more food. read more

And super nice people working there who I think might be the owners (?). We had wonderful capicola pizza, Caesar salad, mozzarella sticks, and libations. The whole place even smells delicious. We got into town too early to check into our hotel. My 8 year old son, grabbed my phone and looked up restaurants. He loves pizza so when Los Olivos popped up he wanted to go. We got there and ordered our pizza. I jokingly told him we would be upset with him if it was bad. Between my parents, myself and son, we ate an entire large pepperoni pizza!!! After driving by Los Olivos more times than I can count over the past two years that I have lived in the area, my partner and I made up our minds to actually try it. The service was fine, you order at the counter and they bring the Pizza out to your table so noting good or bad to be said about the service. The place itself is very small. We ended up sitting outside since it was a beautiful day out when we stopped, but if you are not ordering to go know that it feels very cramped inside. The food itself was mediocre at best. It is handmade pizza, but in Tucson there are a number of really good options for handmade pizza that is considerably better than what Los Olivos is serving. I also found it much more expensive than similar style pizza restaurants here in town. There is nothing outwardly bad about this restaurant, but there also is not a reason that I would come back. This is a hidden gem! One of the best Italian restaurants in Tucson, no kidding. Pizza crust is so crispy and fresh. The dough tastes like NY. Just yummy. The salad and dressing was so good, artichokes, olives, cucumbers and romaine with a creamy basil Italian dressing. My friend was vegan and she said it was the best vegetarian pizza in town. The calzone was also said to be one of the best she had. The other friend had the southwest chicken salad and it had real sliced blackened chicken. We will come back often. I have reached the reluctant conclusion that Los Olivos Pizzaria does not want my business. Their pizza is quite wonderful; a fire baked crust and chewy, but not doughy interior. But they have consistently gotten my pizza order wrong for years. I specify the pie cut, they produce their "party" cut. I will not even eat a pizza subjected to that cut. So, I give up and give them high marks for great pizza, but zero for service. read more

Baffled by the good reviews here. This was definitely a miss in my book. Visiting from the northwest, we planned to see what the local pizza scene had to offer. Since one of us was feeling a bit under the weather, we ordered online from this pizza spot direct to our run-down room down the street at the Hotel Tucson (meh). We had hoped to avoid using delivery services that gouge the customers and restaurants, but after placing the order online it turns out they are involved anyway. I don't remember if it was Uber Eats or Doordash, but one of those guys took the process from there to deliver the order. I was a little annoyed that there was no option anywhere I could see to provide a tip to the driver, and had no cash. Sorry, dude. He was very nice about it but I felt bad. The food arrived promptly and still warm, but it really wasn't very good. We had a classic pepperoni pizza, mozzarella sticks, and a Caesar salad. The first things we noticed is that there were no utensils, no napkins, no red pepper, and no ranch sauce that we ordered. They did provide some of their marinara/pizza sauce for crust and cheese stick dipping, so whatever, we gave it a try. GAG! The sauce is soooooo salty! It was all over the pizza as well; in combination with the pepperoni it was a giant salt bomb. Difficult to make my way through the pizza. The crust was lacking; it just tasted like the dough hadn't risen enough to give that light airy chewiness. It just seemed a little dense and flat. In addition, the round pizza was cut into squares. Who the fuck does this? A 2 year old knows what a pizza should look like. This made it really difficult to eat the messy, saucy middle pieces without making a huge mess. Fortunately we had hotel HAND TOWELS to use since again, there were NO NAPKINS. The mozzarella sticks were actually not bad, as long as you didn't dip them in the salt sauce. I'm not usually a fan of them because they are usually pretty hit or miss and I choose to pass, but I would get these again. One last thing: why do you need to use styrofoam containers and plastic bags to deliver your food? I know this is purple/red Arizona and "freedom, we don't give a shit", but come on. We all live on this rock and you're making it worse because someone is a cheap asshole. STOP KILLING THE FUCKING PLANET. There are alternatives. Two stars, since I reserve 1 for the most egregious offenders. Keep working at it guys, you might get there soon. read more

Los Olivos (The Olives) is my go to place for pizza, calzone and spaghetti. I keep saying I'm going to try other items in their menu but I don't make it past my favorites . They also sell bread that is so delicious when u buy it fresh, hot out of the oven! He sells onion rolls and rolls, sort of submarine rolls. Both delicious but my favorite are the submarines (bollilos). You have to go by mid morning if u want to try the bread because it sells out every day! Pizza is very good, fresh ingredients in everything he makes. Last time I went I got the shrimp scampi, plenty of shrimp and sauce. Calzone was filled with delicious pepperoni, sausage, ham and cheese. The place is a small but you'll find big time flavor here read more

I'm so thankful this small shop is still around. They have deals on a slice of pizza and a drink. The sausage and peppers pizza was savory and delicious. The supreme pizza was supreme ;) The pizza crust is light and airy. They also have desserts. We got the tiramisu and cheesecake and they were both great choices. read more
