Zeke's Pizza opened in what I believe used to be the Big Brothers/Big Sisters office. I'd heard their story about an immigrant starting a small business, which I'm always happy to support, and honestly wish I had tried them sooner. Some of the culinary offerings are a bit unconventional, like promoting both coffee and pizza. I ended up trying both, even though it's not my typical pairing. The espresso was good, and I ordered the personal Meat Lovers pizza. It was solid overall, though not the best pizza within a one-mile radius. The space is clean and inviting, though the layout feels a little unusual for a restaurant. Service is counter-style and was friendly, but the communication between the kitchen and front of house seemed off. My friend didn't get the croissant she ordered because they had run out, and unfortunately no one told her until much later. They did make it right with a substitution, but it would've been better to know up front. We were also confused about whether we were supposed to bus our own table since there weren't any visible trash cans. We ended up asking and learned that bussing isn't expected. Overall, it's a good spot with potential, and worth a visit.

I tried it for the first time a while back and had the pizza and wings lunch special. The pizza was fine and I was thinking I should've asked for my wings extra crispy. My fruit punch drink was really good. The wiener and staff were really nice and the service was good. The ambiance is cool as well. The price was reasonable.

This is my second time at Zeke's but not my last. Walked in for lunch after a long morning at work and was warmly greeted by the nicest man behind the counter. He recommended the special, which was a personal sundried tomato chicken spinach pizza. All he had to say was sundried tomatoes and he had me! While I paid the gentleman felt bad about now offering me a drink, so he offered me one complimentary. II checked out the dining area while I set up my computer for work. It did not take long for my pipping hot pizza to come my way. It was a tiny, but mighty and filled with toppings that with each bite got better and better. I love how the tomatoes complemented the chicken and spinach so well. Each bite was so full of flavor that I was very sad when I got full. Thankfully I had two more slices left that I happily ate a couple of hours later. I am happy to see that Zekes is thriving and growing! This is not only a place for pizza and coffee, but a gathering spot and safe place for all! I got to check out one of the co-working spaces and I can't wait to see what will happen with this and the rest of the building.

Very happy to see this new pizza shop open up downtown, even better to know that they are serving gelato. Right picked up a supreme personal pizza it came out so hot and fresh and delicious the sauce amazing nice and cheesy just the way I like it. The crust soft but yet crunchy. The salted caramel gelato was nice and creamy and refreshing . Very friendly staff I've sent a few people since I've gone, and everyone loves it

Oh man I rarely write a one star, my experience was far from what I thought it would be. You order at the counter and sit down, we ordered a small pizza, 8 wings, a Cesar salad with ranch and a side of marinara sauce. The pizza was undercooked.. it was gummy and so when they started to bring out our other food we let the server know and to our surprise they took the pizza we had started eating and recooked the same pizza... pictures are included. I am not a chef but I have my food handlers license and I don't think that's something that is permitted but I could be wrong. The Cesar salad was basic honestly a bagged Cesar salad Kit has more to it. The wings are AWFUL they are the equivalent of buying frozen wings from the grocery store. And the marinara sauce was bad like expired bad. They brought us out the pizza and it's like maybe the equivalent of a homemade Peter piper pizza. I hope they take the time during the start of their business to grow and learn.

We had lunch earlier this week here, and I ordered the Pollo Pizza. The pizza was ok. The establishment was clean, the staff, two young women, were friendly, and the owner was really nice.I thought the light fixtures offered a unique atmosphere. It should be noted that the parking lot across the street, featuring a huge mural, offers free parking if you inform them that you are dining here. Additionally, they offer spaces for individuals seeking a room to work or study.

Personal pineapple and ham pizza that we destroyed.

We ordered the pineapple and ham personal pizza and it was delicious. The service was great and we will definitely be back to try the wings.

Popped in here for lunch on a Tuesday. I got a personal pizza with pepperoni and a fountain drink. Prices were reasonable and The staff was so nice and the service was fast. They sell gelato from frost and coffee. I definitely want to come back and try their wings.

One thing I really liked was that there are plenty of servers working the floor, rather than having just one person assigned to you. Multiple people help with the menu, drinks, food, and whatever else you need, which made the service feel especially attentive and seamless. I originally went in planning to get pizza, but then I spotted the vegetarian lasagna and immediately changed my mind. Ten layers of vegetables and ricotta between homemade pasta? Instant winner. It was honestly the best vegetarian lasagna I've ever had--and the best part is that I got to enjoy it without spending hours making it myself! I also ordered the bread with olive oil, garlic, and green onions as a dipping sauce, along with a glass of their house wine during happy hour. Everything was delicious, and the whole meal felt like such a treat. If you're looking for a great meal at Penelope Pizza, don't overlook the vegetarian lasagna. It absolutely stole the show for me!

The artisanal pizzas are well put together regardless of what you order. Caesar salad is homemade, lemony with a little hint of bitterness almost like an arugula flavor. We were seated right away since it wasn't busy, and things started off simple enough with bread and oil. We asked for parmesan to go with it, and our server seemed unsure how to respond, eventually bringing out packet parm even though fresh was clearly available. Not a huge deal, but we found it odd. A little later, we asked for more bread. The server told us they were out but, "that they could probably make more". . He relayed it to the woman handling bread, who then made more for another table and skipped us entirely. He mentioned it again to her when he saw us looking in their direction. she looked over, and still nothing. It was awkward, since the restaurant is the size of a closet. Once the pizza came, we got up ourselves to ask for more oil and parmesan, since our waiter hadn't come to check back. We got the oil instantly since we brought us the bowl, but no parmesan. At one point my son asked for bread, again, finally it came and the server literally tossed it on the table without a word. We said thank you and he completely ignored all of us. It didn't get any better from there. The bill was dropped on the table without a word either. My husband and I kept looking at each other with confused looks. We turned the bill in with our CC, and once the server returned it, same thing, not a single interaction. We also watched the same server make another table feel like an inconvenience over something as simple as asking for a bottle of Coke instead of a can. The customer ended up backing down just to avoid the hassle. The server then told the guest, "it's fine, I can get it for you!" On top of that, staff were wearing gloves while handling food, but also touching chairs, phones, and other surfaces; kind of defeats the purpose I think? My boys also had a weird interaction with a staff near the bathrooms who was very rude to them and accused them of cutting the line, despite no one waiting. It was very strange. Bottom line: the food is incredible, no question. But the service was so bad it's hard to ignore. Best advice, get it to go and skip the experience inside.

We made reservations and I'm glad we did as this is an extremely small space. We were seated at the bar where they have their kitchen. Generally we don't like sitting at the bar but it was nice to watch the crew make food. It's impressive what they can do with this small space. Very small menu- My husband and I are sober so we are always looking for spots with good NA/ mocktail options but it fell short here so we just got a bottle of sparkling water. We ordered the butter pecan salad which was amazing. Loved everything about it, I was hesitant that they only had butter lettuce but I think I appreciated the soft lettuce with the crunch of the apple and pecans in it. The dressing was phenomenal. For a pizza we got just the pepperoni, I saw a lot of margarita pizzas with pepperoni being made and I think we would've liked that option better with the fresh chunks of mozzarella. The cheese they use for the regular pizza is a very strong flavor, probably a nice aged parm so that really came through. We are sauce people so it was hard to appreciate the sauce with the strong profile of the cheese which is why I think we would've liked the margarita pizza better We had the panna cotta for desert and my husband LOVED it. They prep it in advance in cute little mason jars. Overall not a bad spot. Service was great, salad was phenomenal. I think if we would've had a table and maybe tried a different pizza this would've made our top 5 spots for pizza.

We started with the ABG salad that surprised me because I'm usually not a big fan of Gorgonzola, but the combination of green apple, pecan brittle, and cheese worked really well together and made for a great balance of flavors. For the pizza, we ordered the mushroom pizza and added pepperoni. The sauce was excellent I believe was some sort of a garlic/oil white sauce the mushroom portion was generous which I absolutely love, and the crust was exactly what I look for crunchy on the outside while still soft and slightly sweet inside. My only minor complaint with the toppings is that the $4 pepperoni add on felt a bit light, we only had a 2 or 3 slices per piece. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that our pizza was just slightly overcooked. The bottom was charred all the way around; wasn't burnt to the point of sending it back, but definitely left in the oven a minute or two longer than it needed to be. It wasn't busy when we visited, and it seemed like the employee rotating pizzas was a little more focused on chatting with FOH coworkers than keeping an eye on the oven. I've worked in pizza restaurants for nearly a decade, so I may be a bit more particular than most customers. Realistically, if our pizza had come out even a minute earlier, it would have been a 10/10 meal. That said, I enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back. The quality is there, and I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future.

Food arrived just 15 min later and was piping hot and delicious. The lasagna is a good sized portion (roughly 5x7) and is generously filled with meat. Taste is amazing with medium-firm pasta and a nice crust across the top and sides. The ricotta calzone came with a side of marinara (yay) for dipping as there is no sauce inside. Roughly 2 dozen toppings are available, ranging from $3-$8+. I opted for the meatballs ($8.50) and was slightly disappointed. The meatballs are crumbled within the calzone (understandable) but not pronounced in quantity. I would prefer larger pieces (halves work at this size - after all I ordered meat-ball not meet-ground ;) However, for $8 (a 75% upcharge) my chief gripe is that I was simply expecting more. Next time pepperoni/mushrooms! Ambiance is lovely and waitstaff were awesome -- gracious, knowledgeable about menu specifics, and attentive. Parking is free/easy at this corner of a small strip mall. Can't wait to try their new Detroit menu too! Note: due to Rene's smaller size (less than 10 tables total) and high demand, all reservations (any day) require a credit card to hold. This is entirely understandable as even one no-show is a measurable hit to keeping a full house. I also have kids yet 100% embrace their patio-only policy when with kiddos. This literal mom/pop venue (they have kids too) tries to do the impossible balance between clientele and intimate, high-end dining (we simply accommodate by getting take out when feeding the Whole family ;)
