This was a solid froyo spot up in oro valley. We went in search of dole whip and unfortunately that machine was broken when we went, which was disappointing but we were still able to try some other delicious flavors. The consistency was good and the shop was clean enough. The price felt a little steep, but not out of the ballpark. They did have some other delectable options such as Dole pineapple and strawberry lemonade whip, coconut gelato and strawberry. I was a little disappointed that the mango Dole whip that was listed as today's flavor on the shop window wasn't available when we were here. The options for toppings are plentiful and include fresh fruit, popping boba, various candies and syrups. The price when we were here was $.82/oz. When it came to the total, the register asked me to add a tip. Should I be tipping myself then since I did all the work? Wanted to love it. The frozen fruit soft serve was tasty. Prices were not ridiculous. Place was clean and following posted hours... So, why the 3 stars? I deducted a star for each of the following: 1. Nuts are everywhere. I mean, everywhere. The Peanut butter frozen yogurt we can avoid due to family member with bad nut allergy. But the toppings had 2 separate 'bars' for lack of a better word & they both had various nutcups, nuts, toffee/nuts in both and a row full of shakers with nuts at the end of the self serve bar. They should have a warning on the door or separate the nut containing stuff from the non nut stuff. And, speaking of self serve...#2 2.They hand you a spoon & weigh your cup yet the POS/payment tablet suggested a tip :/ For what? I did all the making of my treat. Not a tippable situation, at least to me. These are 2 easily remedied problems that I hope get considered by the owners, esp #1. Peach wave is a much needed self serve froyo place in town! The space is small, but clean. The options are on a rotation which is great. I love that they always have 2 vegan dole whip options, too! There are also numerous toppings to choose from. They offer some promotions as well such as no weigh Wednesday. Check their social media for updates! COVID NOTES: Can get crowded on weekends, so plan accordingly if this is an issue. There are a few seats outside that are semi covered but no true patio. Peachwave's self-serve stations has 10 individual flavors which can be swirled together. They also offer 2 non-dairy options which are typically pineapple, raspberry, or pomegranate. The highlight of Peachwave is the toppings bar. There must be close to 30 toppings ranging from fresh fruit, mochi, Oreos, candy, and nuts. With so many to choose from, no two creations will be the same which is one reason why I keep coming back. There's always a new creation or combination to try. In case you ever get bored of building your own yogurt bowl, Peachwave also offers milkshakes, smoothies, and floats. I've been meaning to try the pineapple Dole whip float but it's so hard for me to deviate from my norm. Don't let me cop out next time. While this place can probably get pretty pricey, they have some awesome deals! On Sunday you can fill up their small cup to the brim for only $5.50! I got a vanilla and peach froyo and topped it with strawberries and boba. It was so good! They had low sugar options, low fat options, and free samples. Tons of topping options too. Peachwave opened up just in time for the summer! As a temporary resident of Oro Valley, I've seen a number of local businesses opening up and it's really great! While Peachwave is a franchise, it's owned locally by an Oro Valley family! When I stopped in, it was lovely to see the owner interacting with the community and greeting all the kids and high schoolers that new her. Total community vibes going on here! On to the soft serve. They will be rotating flavors regularly and it's made fresh in house. They have dairy and non-dairy (dole whip) options as well as gelato. When you arrive, walk to the back, put on a pair of gloves, grab your cup and fill it up! They charge 0.65 an ounce. I barely filled mine half way. It's all I could really eat! And they've got plenty of topping options from fresh fruit to candy and cookies. Soft serve is always a fun treat and it's even better when you're supporting a locally family run business. The Owner Brooke was onsite and was so sweet! They hired all high school kids for the summer and they were in training when I stopped in. Peach wave is next door to Tuk Tuk Thai. Don't bother going for the discount because they are running a white cup special for $6 and do not honor the Senior Discount. My husband didn't pick the white cup, so his yogurt cost $11. How can a guest come in and take a spoon in front of the employee standing behind the counter, and walk over to the dispensers and lick the spoon and sample the flavors then go to the next flavor and hold it under the flavors so close to the spout and use the same spoon each time. First time visiting Peachwave with our siblings. To start off, we were greeted by a young female & male. They had many flavors in which iced coffee & coconut were our favorites. The toppings were labeled and the counters were clean. The self service area is quite small so it can feel quite crowded. However, we appreciate the friendliness of the staff. The young gentleman was not hesitant on asking if we needed additional toppings from the counter. He was continuously cleaning the topping counter. The other staff member was just as friendly as she explained the different sizes to us. We came near closing time but that did not change how kind the staff was. Five-star wow factor: the bathroom air freshener and hand soap were peach scented...what attention to detail! The owners were even on site and participated in store operations! ...two weeks later...I'm back again! Another 5-star review. I was met at the door by the owner and received a friendly smile and welcome. The waffle bowl and Reese's peanut butter sauce were outstanding. I had a vanilla base with chopped peanuts, crushed Reese's cups, as well as Reese's candy pieces, topped with Reese's peanut butter sauce and hot fudge.
