I like gelato (better than ice cream), and this side of Italy, Frost is my go to for frozen sweet treats. Got a small Cobblestone Road, their version of Rocky Road, chock full of goodies and yummy chocolate gelato. Ate it so fast I didn't get a picture. Next time? read more

Service has improved significantly since my last review. Looking forward to peppermint flavor returning. Staff is nice.

Good gelato, but the prices have gone up nearly 30%. My wife and I each got two scoops, $17! And the people behind the counter are snarky if you don't tip. Inflation and more price gouging across America. read more

It is fantastic every time I go. This is my favorite place to get a sweet treat. There are always a ton of flavors and they are all so good. Their medium comes with a good amount of gelato. I always love stopping by here with my wife for dessert. Highly recommend. read more

What do you do after a great meal? You find Frost Gelato in Oro Valley, AZ. All types of flavors of gelatos you can think of. Friendly staff. We ordered two salted caramel gelatos that hit the spot. Sat outside and devoured them. We do not feel guilty because they were delicious. Two gelato's cost $15. They were worth the cost. Enjoy. read more

We love Frost! It's a hidden gem tucked away in the plaza right next to Sauce. We'll usually stop in here for dessert because they have so many flavors to chose from and it's the perfect amount. They offer cones or cups. And their flavors are fruity, savory, and very well done. This location is always very clean, classy, and the service is great. read more

Second time ordering large straciatella, both times they scrape from the sides and bottom that are just plain vanilla- no chip specks leaving the beautiful top, which was full of chocolate chip specks and chocolate drizzle. Today I decided to ask to have the scoop from the top. The kid working said they are instructed not to give that and he would get fired if he did. Crazy if this is true but im thinking it's more likely that he just didn't want to have to open another bucket of ice cream when it's late in the day. When I said I would skip the ice cream today, he was suddenly able to give a scoop from the top lolol. Wont go here again. read more

Easy to find a vegan/dairy free option. Great flavors and textures. Lost one star because my favorite flavor is seasonal, and I haven't been able to get it in a long time. (Watermelon) Always a line, so be patient for the good stuff. read more

We've never stayed long enough to enjoy the space, it's always stop in and go. The service is okay but there. The space is bright and typically well kept. The options for dairy free are great, with several choices. There are some cones but I think some are vegan friendly and some are egg, I'd ask. Bathrooms available for customers, Greta indoor and outdoor seating options, large selection and toppings too. read more

Frost Gelato - Pineapple Sorbet - Gelato Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

My go-to spot for gelato in Tucson whenever I'm missing my time vacationing in Italy! Frost always has the best texture and flavors when it comes to gelato, perfectly creamy but not overbearingly sweet. My most-ordered flavor is their stracciatella which has the perfect amount of chocolate in it. I highly recommend ordering some of their seasonal flavors and just tried both violet and watermelon sorbet. The watermelon sorbet comes with chocolate chips mixed in, adding a nice extra bite of flavor and texture and the violet was not overwhelming floral but more than enough to satisfy. This location in particular can get a bit busy but there's plenty of seating in the nearby area. read more

Good gelato. Smooth and not too sweet. Only $1 for additional scoop. They were awarded best gelato in the US. I don't think they would rate best in the world though. The flavor is a bit off for some flavors. read more

This is such a special place. I am from Illinois and used to go to the Highland Park location because I had a friend who worked there! I always used to get peanut butter crunch there and then when I moved to Tucson, I was so excited to see that they had a frost! There is ample parking in the lot, when you see Whole Foods and wildflower, you know you're in the right spot. They have so many flavors and they are much healthier than regular ice cream. Service is always good, quick and they are always kind. There is outdoor seating and indoor seating, lately with the Winter. I've been choosing inside :P. Highly recommend the ***peanut butter crunch***, it is the one I get every single time! It is as if Nutella and Reese's peanut butter cups had a baby- SO GOOD!!! read more

First time here! Here are some of my thoughts in their respective categories. First Impression: It was a busy Saturday evening as expected with great weather around 7pm. It's a very small establishment with nice lighting ambience to add to the experience. A little confused as to why they were mopping in the very front part of the entrance were people walked in. We ate outside and saw a kid fall down in the wet area in front of the entrance and luckily he wasn't injured so that was a bit of an odd thing to experience. Interactions: Staff were fantastic and friendly. Very warm welcome and even delighted to see their customers walk in considering how busy it was. Service: Great! No complaints here. We were offered samples and even suggested to try some flavors which the young lady was very knowledgeable and kind. Value: Hard to tell with prices being elevated but for reference, me and my gf got 2 small cups for around $11 and some change. Pretty steep if you ask me but you pay for what you get :). Quality was excellent. Recommendation: If you like Ice cream and have never tried gelato, this is the place to go! Overall we were quite happy with the experience and would probably go again to be honest. read more

Frost Gelato - Small cup-Mint Chocolate Chip. - Gelato Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

I've had gelato many times in Italy as well as local shops in the U.S.A. It is absolutely shocking to me that Frost gelato stays in business. I had a $50 gift card and in 2.5 years I didn't spend it all because I couldn't find flavors I wanted to eat at Frost gelato! It literally cost me nothing yet the flavors were so poor I didn't want them and am now moving away from Arizona without finishing the gift card. Yikes. I think a big problem here is that they must be using commercial syrups or other processed additives to make their flavors, as tasting after sample tasting the gelato tastes artificial. Here are the thoughts of me & my spouse on many of the flavors we purchased or sampled: Pistachio: good Chocolate-orange: very good Roasted almond: good (though still a bit artificial tasting) Mocha: good Espresso chip: spouse said good but keep trying others (I said it's standard coffee ice cream) Stratiacella: spouse liked but wouldn't get again Creme de biscotti (cookies n cream) spouse liked but not enough to get again Tiramisu: ok Cheesecake: flavorless Dark chocolate: bad (like Hershey syrup) Blackberry Cabernet: slight alcohol flavor wasn't for me Blackberry: a bit artificial tasting Salted caramel: a bit too sweet & artificial tasting Spicy chocolate: very ordinary chocolate ice cream flavor with a kick at the end Lotus cookie: blah Bagigi peanut: tastes like an artificial peanut butter cookie read more

I don't have gelato often but when I do it's always at Frost! It's the perfect warm weather treat and always hits the spot. There are so many flavors to choose from, and they are all displayed so beautifully, so you may have a hard time choosing just one. My personal favorites are: dark chocolate, mint chocolate chip, and honey. I truly can't think of words that do the texture and creaminess justice so just take my word that it's amazing! read more

Popped in on Sunday for some afternoon gelato. Big mistake....the gelato here tastes like its mass produced, not good at all The pineapple had literally no flavor and the dark chocolate & mint was mediocre at best. The restrooms were disgusting, obviously no one cleaned them the night before. Safe to say we won't be back. read more

Delicious gelato but the price has gone through the roof! For a small and medium it was almost $13! The young people working were so nice and even brought around a tray with cups of water. My favorite flavors are the peanut butter crunch and the one with peanuts and caramel. So yummy! read more

My fiancé and I both absolutely love this place, the only complaint I have is the flavor selection could rotate more frequently, instead of seasonal for tiramisu, be nice to see that one out more often. Also, the staff could be more friendly in my opinion but realize it's hard to find good help these days and the younger generations don't actually care to work. But the gelato is always consistent and very delicious. read more

It was fast, delicious, had a creamy mouthfeel (as gelato should), and reasonably priced. As a bonus, if one is to trust the calorie card found on the table, it is way less caloric than one would expect. Of course, when I was reading that card my brain immediately had flashbacks to the Seinfeld episode entitled "The Non-Fat Yogurt" LOL. read more

I would've loved to have ordered something, but the person helping me had to go to the back to get a refill on one of the tubs (not something I ordered btw). The other staff proceeded to take people's orders that came in after me. I waited for the guy helping me to come back, but when he did, he started checking out the 6 or so customers that where able to get there orders taken. Well thanks for nothing I guess. read more

You will be welcomed by this sweet smell as you enter the shop. I like how the place is decorated. And there's so much flavor to choose from! Will definitely come back. read more

Popped in here after a delicious dinner next door to grab some gelato. The place was VERY busy so it was clear it is a popular spot. I've been going to Frost since it opened years ago. It's always delicious and the presentation of the gelato is always beautiful but the teens and young adults they have working there are always unpleasant. It's like they hate working there. I've witnessed one storm out. We went to the Casas Adobes Frost two days ago and sat inside to eat with our kids since all the outside tables were taken. The only people the girls behind the counter were remotely nice to were their friends who came to visit and hang out. The girls behind the counter who were serving gelato were also eating their own samples in between customers. When I paid for our gelato she just asked if I wanted a receipt, I said no and she turned around and walked away to talk to the other coworker. No thank you, no have a nice day. So I said, "thank you!" And zero acknowledgement. But this has been how the workers are behind the counter for the last few years. It's like zero customer service training. So why go there? Because we go to Sauce next door and want to walk over for gelato and it's the only dessert option! It's like they know they're the only option so they don't try to be pleasant at all. read more

I was craving gelato so we found Frost and decided to give it a try. Located in a strip mall, there was a few seats inside and a number of seats outside. Frost has a ton of flavors with some creative ones in addition to the usual suspects. They'll also let you sample a few flavors if you're torn between flavors. I chose a medium size, half pistachio and half strawberry champagne. My husband got a large with dark chocolate, salted caramel, and a peanut flavor. Overall, the gelato was decent, but not close to the best I've had. My husband really loved his flavors. Pistachio is my absolute favorite but the flavor was more mild and not super concentrated. The strawberry champagne was more strawberry than champagne but refreshing. So all in all, it was a decent treat. I enjoyed sitting at the table outside and getting some sunlight while eating our gelato. read more

We visited on July 4th around 4 PM. My husband and I love Frost, but the customer service was terrible. We weren't greeted; the staff just stared at us until we initiated the conversation and placed our order. Maybe the guy with blonde hair didn't get enough sleep or hated the fact that he had to work that day, but when I asked about the difference between the Alpen caramel flavor and the other caramel, they mocked me behind the counter. Despite this, Frost is still great, and we'll just go to the East Side location where decent customer service exists. read more

Frost is just delicious. I particularly like it as someone who doesn't eat refined white sugar. They have several varieties of no sugar added gelato that are very tasty. The presentation of the product is beautiful. The service is very quick, even when the line is very long. It deserves its reputation as one of the best a lot of spots around. read more
