When 25min had passed I received a call from Jacob letting me know that he would be just a few minutes late as he had gotten rerouted by the GPS, which was such a considerate gesture. He showed up and was friendly, professional, considerate and got right down to business. We had some unexpected issues to contend with and he was kind enough to say to me "don't worry I'm not gonna leave you out here by yourself. I will stay with you until we get this resolved." We have been locked out of a desk in our office for weeks and it had become an emergency that we access it. After failed attempts by our maintenance crew and a visit from the desk installer, I called Mr. Locksmith. The same afternoon I placed the first call, I am now in the desk! Jacob was calm, kind, pleasant and thorough. He explained everything he was going to do before he did it and although he could not promise success, he said "I'm not leaving until you have access to this desk." And that he did. I couldn't recommend Mr. Locksmith any higher. When you call, ask for Jacob. We called several locksmith companies in the DC area asking for quotes to change locks. Mr. Locksmith was among the more competitive in pricing, but what made us decide to go with them was their responsiveness and flexibility. We called to ask when they could come, and they conformed to our schedule (and fairly last minute), not the other way around. Jacob was our locksmith and came and gave us an honest opinion on what locks needed to be changed and what would be extraneous - in other words, he didn't try to cajole us into a bunch of unnecessary expenditures. He put in a few high-quality locks, showing us all the details along the way. Best of all, he was fast - in and out in about 20 minutes. When I came home from vacation my brother lost the keys to my appt....why am I not surprised. I live in DuPont Circle and had no access to my appt. I sat by my door with all my luggage and sulked. I finally decided I had to call a locksmith. I found Mr Locksmith on Google and they were he closest to me. They arrived in 15 min, extremely fast. A nice man named Leo explained to me what he had to do and price quoted me asking me if this was agreeable. I decided it was. I sat there expecting to be waiting for an hour. Professional and curious. Our business had a outdated broken lock. After years of wear and tear it finally gave in. After reading several other yelp reviews we decided to give Mr. Locksmith a try. Jacob came to our door within and hour of us calling. He was polite and knowledgeable. He showed us EXACTLY what was wrong and gave us a quote that was about two hundred dollars under what we estimated the damages to be. He tested the equipment out but when he left one our other managers had difficulty with the new lock. Jacob came back at 9pm several hours after he had left to remedy the issue so that now all of our keys worked. We had a key made from one of those kiosks and wasn't a proper fit. PSA: What's the worst day to get locked out of your apartment building? Thanksgiving. Once realizing what I'd done, and that my spare key was in the office which was closed given the holiday, and that my oven was on with food inside, I started to panic to say the least. I called Mr. locksmith and they sent me SAINT Jacob. He not only was there within 20 minutes, but he spent over 35 minutes using every drill he had and even brute force to get me into my place (my apt's lock was very old, and there was no option but to drill out the lock). They installed a multi-T-Iock on my front door just before the holidays of 2016 and did a fantastic job! Not only was Leo and his team professional beyond belief but his company put the best (Israeli patented locking system) on my front door. They core drilled through a three inch door to install the lock and installed a lock whose finish matched the time period of the house (1930) which is fantastic for resale of the house. The key cannot be duplicated as well which makes me feel very secure about the new lock and the security of my house. Ron was amazing. We bought an old house with six exterior doors, five without deadbolts and one with an old, strangely designed deadbolt. I ordered new locks online and had tons of problems with delivery and locks that were broken when they arrived, but Ron was beyond patient. He was extremely helpful and creative in installing locks in a variety of doors, some all wood, some partially metal, some with windows, all with very old frames. He ended up having to come out to the house three separate times, but he refused to take more than the original, very reasonable estimate. Now that we are safely settled in the new house, we will definitely be relying on Mr Locksmith for all our lock-related needs. read more

Total scam. I explained that my car keys may be locked inside of my car, so I needed someone to open the door and possibly make a new key. I was told it was $220 plus a $29 service charge. The tech gets here and suddenly it's $180 to open the door and $220 for a key. Long story short, I called a AAA contracted company who opened my door for $85, and talked this company down to $180 for a new key to be made. I called my dealership to see how much it would be to have a spare key made and they said $30-$40. This guy tried to charge me $100 for an extra key. Stay away from this place unless you enjoy paying $100 more than you should and waiting 30+ minutes later than they say they will arrive. read more

Lee did a fantastic job helping me out of a difficult situation! When I called Mr. Locksmith, I thought the deadbolt on my door was gone for good. Lee arrived and helped me figure out that it was a much simpler issue and fixed the whole thing without damage to the frame, door, or even to the lock. Anybody else would have probably tried cutting out the good lock rather than assess the situation. I was only charged for the cost of entry which was a huge savings compared to all of the other locksmiths I got quotes from. From start to finish he managed the whole thing in less than half an hour. I just purchased a home and needed the doors re-keyed and new deadbolts put in 4 different doors. The doors did not have deadbolts already. Lee came out and did not only the doors, but also fixed the garage door lock which had a painted over keyhole since it hadn't been used in a long time. Lee also recommended different setups for the deadbolts due to the door windows being close to the handles to increase security. I managed to lock myself out on Sunday night and Jacob saved me! Not only did he respond quickly and get me back in the house on a cold night, but he changed out six other locks that night when I inquired about changing the locks due to my recent move-in. Overall, I had a very good experience dealing with Jacob and Mr. Locksmith. They first came to my condo for an issue with a deadbolt, which was fixed promptly. In fact, Jacob arrived within 30min and the whole thing was done smoothly. Then, as an issue appeared, Jacob very quick contacted me and came back to fix the issue. I actually had to recontact Jacob for another lock that locked my sister out while I was out of the country. The lock in the handle needed to be replaced, and he came quickly, with a fair price, and everything worked.
