The Good: Very quick to respond via Yelp messenger and gave one of the lowest quoted prices to rekey 7 locks and change out a couple others. Was able to come the next day. Friendly folks. The meh: There wasn't any communication of who would come out. I assumed it was the owner I messaged with, but it was another person who came and really had no idea what I had wanted. He was also 40 min late and took nearly three hours to complete the job. I wasn't in any rush, but could be inconvenient for some. Wasn't able to change one of the storm doors (cylinder wasn't compatible), which another company picked up on immediately but Goldenhands wasn't prepared for. We may get rid of that door anyway so wasn't a big deal. The bad: while unscrewing the doorknobs he let EVERY single one slam on the floors. Our flooring isn't amazing, but it could have really done some damage and showed lack of care. Left metal shavings and little metal things all over the place. The worst: he said, "all set can check out". I checked all the locks and keys myself, but one of the doors wouldn't close. I let him know and he said, "oh yeah that was giving me trouble, the lock wouldn't work with it closed" which means he KNEW he wasn't done and was going to let me pay and him take off. I said - well if it doesn't close and lock, it doesn't work...so it's not done" he took 30 more minutes to get it to close. It's still a little sticky, but works. TLDR: job got almost all of the way done for cheap, but with seemingly little care. Make sure you check the work. read more

The technician was quick, and helped address another problem with the lock while putting it back together. He was able to cut me additional spare keys at a reasonable price, and he also cleaned up after himself, which was greatly appreciated! Overall these guys provide great service at a great price. We needed to upgrade our door security. They came to evaluate the door, recommended a magnetic lock, had their magnetic lock installer come a few days later, and were responsive through the whole process.
