The locksmith sent to warehouse by Moe today was an expert in fast talking hard sell. My wife told the dispatcher there was no hurry but the locksmith showed up immediately and we were charged emergency rates. She asked for re-keying and he replaced locks instead. I told hin to change the pins in the existing lock and he did not. He changed the outside cylinder so that the back door two cylinders and the front door outside cylinder had the same key . He spent one hour and we were charged almost $900. However, he did meet our basic requirement: to defeat any one who had made an copy of our door keys and tried subsequently to enter the house. read more

UPDATE - let me add Customer Oriented to the PROS side of this review. Moe's reached out to me to apologize and acknowledge a mischarge for the bedroom doorknob and refunded the entire $195 labor for that part of the job. Also, they're replacing the two rugs affected by debris (normally a drop cloth is used). As a result, I'm updating the rating to 4 stars. CONS - Sticker shock for labor $1135; no clean-up of metal or wood shards, chunks; late arrival. $95 service call fee in addition to flat rate fees for work: $350 install bedroom deadbolt + another $195 to replace its knob ($545); $195 each to replace deadbolt/handle sets on front & patio doors; $100 each to replace knobs on 1 closet & mudroom door. Labor $1135+ $95 fee. Arrived 9:50 for 9am appointment. He was unable to rekey mudroom lock without a key so I had to buy a lock on the spot $50. The bedroom deadbolt I'd bought had a problem so I needed to buy a set $100 + the extra $195 labor. I felt a great deal of confusion regarding several problems with fit that he had to overcome. The replacement lock/handle sets I provided were new Schlages to replace old Schlages but the doors are old ?? One of the fit problems required a 45 minute trip back to his shop. 3 hours of labor became 4.5 hours - 9am-1:40pm vs. 9:50-10:40; 11:30-1:40pm. I was dismayed when I discovered the mess of metal shards by the patio door - we have a dog & I run around barefoot. Ditto the wood chunks. I can't think of the last time I had a repairman in who didn't clean up his work area. PROS - Most of the labor was verbally defined once he arrived & before the work began. I should have asked about pricing when making the appointment or taken advantage of the free estimate advertised. I based my trust on Yelp reviews that mentioned fair/competitive prices. (I'm not usually so trusting.) I could have stopped right then - gotten the free written estimate & followed up with quotes from other locksmiths to determine if these labor rates were competitive. The finished work looks good & performs well. The locksmith was professional, polite and tried to explain what issues he was facing. read more

I called to have a lock and handle tightened. The tech insisted that we needed an expensive new lock and that he did not repair locks. Not well trained. read more

When I locked myself out of my house Moe showed up quite quickly! He got me into my house and made a solid recommendation for a lock upgrade and came out the next week to install the locks. I highly recommend this service! Will use again. read more

Moe the Locksmith is prompt and reliable. He knows his business and was honest with us about our options to rekey locks in our new home. He recommended that we not keep an out of date combo lock, that I did not prefer in the first instance. He did not try to upswell us. He did all the locks. We ended up with a regular deadbolt to replace the combination lock. Moe did a fine job and his pricing was fair. I would definitely engage Moe again. He was also patient and kind with us. read more

Moe did an incredible job. He was on time, fast, efficient, and knowledgable. Also very easy to get in touch with; responded immediately when I reached out and stayed in communication until the service. We had one door with an ill-fitting lock that he easily fixed. I contacted Moe about changing the locks on my home's front door and back door. He did a great job. He's very friendly, reliable, and meticulous. This is my first Yelp review. The reason I am a lurker no more, is simple and inspired by the indomitable force at center for the 1983 NBA Champions: "Moe, Moe, Moe." I can not thank Moe enough for his dedicated, persistent and exemplary effort in repairing my lock and knob - items that could be best described as unique - if you take unique to mean: antiquated, weird and frustrating. Moe handled it all with humor and aplomb. I am sincerely appreciative. Pro Tip: He loves coffee. When he arrives, have a fresh cup on hand. He is more than deserving of it. read more

He showed up on time, made sure I understood how to work the new lock, and even fixed it so the door was easier to open. Reasonable price, too. read more

I asked Moe to replace the locks in our new house. He suggested a much more cost effective approach of rekeying our locks. He was over within a day of my first outreach, responded very quickly to messages, and gave me an up-front estimate. When he arrived, Moe was courteous and professional, took time to see if I had questions, and even was great with my dog. Highly recommended. read more

Would definitely confirm the feedback by others - Moe responded very quickly to my request, offered a competitive price, came out and performed the actual work very quickly and efficiently, was able to accept payment through Venmo, so that the overall transaction from start to finish was as smooth and pleasant as it could be. read more

Came out on a Sunday to look at a lock that broke. Unlike other locksmith he didn't just say I have to replace the entire lock mechanism without looking at it. He took the lock apart and found the broken piece. He tried to fix that piece and when he couldn't he found the part on Amazon. I was able to overnight that part and fix the lock myself the next day. He wasn't going to charge me for the free consultation but in paid him some money. Moe ended up saving me hundreds of dollars. Definitely a honest broker and would recommend him!! read more

On a scorching Saturday late afternoon the power grid goes down and the Arlington Ridge area is part of a massive power outage. This is by far a catastrophic event requiring heroism by any stretch of the imagination; however in my case with an ailing grandmother in confinement with me standing on the other side of a locked-down house... an emergency situation was definitely emerging. We are so grossly obsessed with keyless entry and the latest smart-home enabled devise that we have become extremely lazy with carrying the old-school key; hence, locked out and my mother-in-law LOCKED-IN. Silly-story shot, I Yelped locksmiths in the area, requested Yelp Quotes and Moe was the 1st responder. Shockingly is price was more than reasonable, he promised to arrive in 15 minutes and calmed my nerves all in a five-minute conversation. Though all of the other locksmiths had high reviewed, only two of the bothered to slowly respond. Moe was in route moments after ending our call to gather the address info. He is prompt, professional and very friendly. He will be my VERY first call; hopefully the next call won't be an emergency! read more

Lifesaver! Moe worked on this key for me until it turned flawlessly in a less than quality lock. Happy to contribute to his escape-the-city-fund but his great work would be sorely missed whenever he decides to retire. read more

Moe is awesome. I called a bunch of locksmiths hoping to get our lock fixed today and he was by far the most responsive and personable. He worked hard and proposed several solutions to our problem. You can tell he's a straight shooter and actually explains what he's doing in human terms. Fair pricing as well. Recommend 100%. read more

Moe is great. Thorough, priced reasonably, and super straight shooter. We got some quotes to get locks rekeyed throughout our house, and Moe was able to come within 2 hours, and had one of the best rates. He asked for photos of the locks as he was coming to ensure he could do the job well and give us a good quote. While here, he rekeyed all the locks, and tested them with me to make sure I liked how buttery smooth they were. I asked him for some key copies of the new keys we just got, and he recommended that I actually just go to a hardware store with a laser key copier instead since his key grinding probably wouldn't be as accurate. Total professional. Go with Moe for any lock needs! read more

Great representation of the locksmith profession. Went above and beyond to provide both knowledge and actionable details for me to make an informed decision. Great guy. Thank you Sir read more

I needed to add a deadbolt lock on my office door at home. So I looked for a couple of days trying to find the right person on Yelp. Finally I came across Moe and he said that he could come out that day during my lunch hour and he was actually the best price out of all the company's I called. I didn't realize how much work went into drilling the holes in the door and in the door jam. He was very meticulous and got everything perfect. He was also a very nice guy. Very respectful, and cleaned up. Moe is The Real Deal friends! Don't waist your time looking any further. read more

Very competitively priced. Perfected his work. No upcharges and very reliable and available on short notice.

I reached out to Moe to swap out a deadbolt and replace my front door lock with a keyless entry because I was having trouble removing my old one. He realized I could do it myself and just made sure I had what I needed and then left. He was fantastic, very communicative, and I will definitely call him again. read more

Fast, dependable. Moe really knows his stuff. He has the tools to tackle damn near any lockout situation.

Moe did a wonderful job installing and re-keying 3 outside door locks and deadbolts so that one key works for all. Great guy, wonderful sense of humor and did a perfect job. Also, he's very flexible and easy to schedule. I highly recommend him! read more

After being stood up by another locksmith, Moe was at my house within 2 hours of contacting him. He was fast, communicative, and helpful. He showed me how to rekey my smart locks, so I can do it myself in the future. He charged me much less than what another locksmith quoted me too. Highly recommend. read more

Moe responded VERY quickly (at like 6:30 in the morning), and actually ended up giving the cheapest estimate of everyone that responded. We were a few minutes late and he was very kind and waited for us. We found out we have a SmartLock on our house (he mentioned that most others will charge extra for this, if you see a "+" above the keyhole because they're hard to Jimmy open) but... No extra fee to get it unlocked! He was courteous and pleasant. If you're stuck in a pinch, this is the guy you want!!! read more

Locked myself out of my apartment at 630 this morning for the first time. After calling a few locksmith companies and receiving crazy quotes I stumbled across Moes. Google said he didn't open until 8 but I figured I'd shoot him a text with a picture of my lock so he saw it first thing. I got a reply within two minutes with a quote right away (and at a much better price than I had been hearing!!) Even after insisting he take his time on his morning routine, he was here in 15min, all before 8am! He greeted me with a smile and our great conversation really turned my day around. He got the job done so quickly and easily and even cut me two spare keys (with great tips to avoid future incidents!) Support local business and give Moe a call. 10/10 would recommend ! read more

I locked myself out of the condo, I'm renting. I was devastated; however Moe came to the rescue early on a Sunday morning. He was able to squeeze me in, even with an appointment. Thanks Moe for your professionalism, diligence, patience and dedication to your craft! read more

After another locksmith ripped me off and overcharged me to break my door instead of fixing it, I found Moe. He was awesome! He was professional, friendly, and understanding of my circumstance. Moe was amazing. He was at my house within 20 minutes and quickly opened the door. He is excellent at his job and explained what he was going to do in order to open the door without damaging the frame. It took 5 minutes. He was also very affordable - significantly less than other companies I called. Hopefully, I won't need a locksmith again, but if I do, he's the guy. read more

I have nothing but great things to say. I submitted to three different locksmith companies for a quote, and Moe responded SO quickly. Fortunately this was not an emergency, but if it were, Moe would definitely be the way to go. He offered to stop by to check the locks I needed changed out and provide great advice. He is very knowledgeable and takes pride in his trade. By the time the other companies replied, Moe had already come by to do a consult and his pricing was much more reasonable than the other companies. He changed out three locks and fixed one that was sticking in no time and the work was great. I highly recommend Moe the Locksmith! read more

Soooo . . . I dropped my entire key ring as the toilet was flushing. Yep--completely down the drain at a Chipotle. I called Moe and he was very emphathetic and helpful. Did not even laugh at me! Even though he does not deal with needing new car keys, he made a referral to another company. he would dispatch someone for my car situation--keys completely gone (flushed down toilet if you can believe that). When the technician from the OTHER company had not called me after 45 minutes, I followed up with Moe who was very apologetic and helped me--even though the job was now with another company!! I would definitely use Moe again and he takes pride in his reputation. read more

Moe was great, I contacted him at 430 and we had 3 re-keyed locks by 6. He gave a fair and accurate estimate. Explained exactly what he was going to do, how long it would take and asked if I had any questions. Then he simply did the work, made sure I was satisfied and was on his way. I really appreciate a vendor that takes pride in his work and cares about quality and customer satisfaction. Highly recommend Moe. read more
