Just used Arlington Lock, Inc. again after many years. They made 8 duplicate master keys for all the locks in our home for the great price of $4 each. The keys work flawlessly. They also recycled the 10 new brass keys that came with our 4 new Kwikset Signature Series Smartkey door levers & deadbolts. Now all four door locks and dead bolts work with one key. All eight items were relatively easy to install in existing doors and were purchased at Home Depot. Look and function well. read more

I gave them a call during the week because the lock on my front door broke. They were able to come the next day and replace the damaged knob on both sides. They were clear up front that there would be a $119 service fee, but even so the whole thing only came to $270 including the fee. Fast service for a reasonable price! They were also able to give me 4 copies of the new key, which I appreciated. read more

I have been using this company's locksmith and key work forever. I recently had a problem with our indoor garage door lock. We use it so often it was getting very difficult to lock and unlock. I called them up and they said that they were very busy for the next two weeks, but if I wanted to bring the lock in the next day or two, they would look at it in the store. They explained how to get the lock off the door. Well, I brought it in the next day and they worked on it in the store. They took it apart, cleaned it up, and it works like brand new. I brought in an old key that was made for the lock and it said Falls Church Lock and Key on it. They saw it and said wow you have been a longtime customer. I called in for a service for getting locked out of my condo, they were quick with response and being able to send someone. However, I called within 5 minutes to cancel since I had someone coming with my keys instead. The guy I spoke to gave attitude and said "not cool bro" and hung up the phone on me as I was apologizing for his inconvenience. As someone who is already stressing out because I am locked out, this was extremely rude and unprofessional. I phoned into the store to ask for a price for a duplicate transponder key for my truck. I was quoted the price of $130 plus tax. I had previously done this online and the price was $75. They have you take a photo of the key and cut it from the photo and mail it to you along with the very simple directions to program it. I said this is considerably higher than doing it online when I expected that going to a local business in person would be cheaper. The response was basically that was the price... Take it or leave it. I went online and the price was now $80 (I had previously done this a year ago) and they had a special of 2 for $100 including key and cutting. An online code of 20% off meant i paid roughly $92 Dollars total for 2 keys resulting in a savings of $40 plus bucks and getting 2 keys instead of one. I previously told them on the phone that they should look at thier pricing because they will put themselves out of business. Sad to see a local business that doesn't want to take care of thier customers and forces you to go online for better service and prices. read more

We had a car key fob that cracked and eventually broke that we needed to replace. I called early yesterday morning and was there and back within an hour. It took about 30 minutes to actually replace since I was first in line when I got there. They (unfortunately didn't catch the tech's name) took great care in replacing the fob and battery and reprogramming it to the car as well as cutting a new key. I really appreciated their attention to detail as they noticed the trunk button was stuck so worked until that was working smoothly as well. It was something that we were semi putting off but desperately needed to fix and it was a relief to go somewhere that made it a painless experience. It was also much cheaper than what we had seen online which was a huge added bonus. Definitely will be the first place we go if we have other issues in the future. I did want to note that it's better to just call the shop. We submitted an online inquiry using their form the week before which was missed, so I was glad when I called to follow up and got an immediate answer to come in. read more

Jay helped me with a high security key that is over 40 years old. Jay had to cut the key by eye because there was no key code and I couldn't bring the lock to him. They were there when I needed them. Arlington Lock is located in a small set of shops just to the left (east) of the old Sears on Lee Highway. It's out of the way and the good news is there's plenty of parking right in front of their store. The front waiting/sales area is large and clean. If you're reading this when we still need to socially distance, this is the place for you. The staff is friendly and, most importantly, got what I needed to do and couldn't do myself. I needed the battery replaced in my car key fob. That should have been something I could do and for some reason, I couldn't get the replacement battery to snap-in. They were able to take care of it and charged a fair (actually, too fair) price. And in my defense, it did take them a couple of minutes to wedge the replacement battery into the fob. read more

Did okay here. Have to give them props for being about the only place in Falls Church (and surrounding area) that can order and program replacement key fobs for cars. It was a bit disorganized-- they'd either just moved or they'd remodeled, not sure which. Was a bit put off, ordered two replacement fobs at 80 bucks apiece, and they still charged an additional 15 bucks apiece to program them. Programming took all of a walk to the car and 30 seconds to plug their device into the OBDII plug and set the fobs. It just seems to me when buying multiples they could consider a price break and/or throw in a programming for gratis. Finally, I also wanted to buy two keys for the new fobs, but they were out of stock or just couldn't find them (still unpacking). So I still had to go to another locksmith to get the actual car keys made. Maybe it's a one-off; but I hope I don't need more key fobs for a while. read more

The great reviews that I read did not disappoint and I too got excellent service at Arlington Lock this morning. Jay was professional, kind, very nice and so so helpful. In addition to cutting and programming two new keys for my old car, he also fixed my old key. The key fob battery had died and nobody had succeeded in installing a new battery, Jay did it with a smile on his face and I left with 3 complete set of keys and ended paying a small portion of what all this service would have cost me at the dealer. Careful with this place they price gouge. I had a duplicate key made here for $170 and at the time of service they offered me another key for $70. It's a fleet car and we were on a hurry so we asked if could come back they said yes. Came back they said they would have to charge full price now. We already had two keys for this car but one with not buttons so we didn't do it. Fast forward 2 months later the key is dropped and splits open (cheap Chinese replica keyfob) we go back and since they chip fell they wanted to charge the full price $170 again. Key lasted two months, but fair enough we'll pay the full price i asked my driver to come back since we ran out of time arguing about the quality. Come back a month later expecting to pay $170 now the owner says we have to pay $200. Thankfully we found Smart key in Annandale which quote us $10 cheaper than their original price. This is all ignoring their arrogant communication skills. read more

Excellent experience. We needed to re-key all the locks on our house after our house key was left in a bag in an Uber and not returned to us for more than half a day. I called Arlington Lock and the woman who answered the phone was very understanding and helpful. She said she'd call around to their techs to find out who could get to us the quickest. She called me back less than 10 minutes later and said Ray would be there within 1.5-2.5 hours. He showed up exactly 1.5 hours later and was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He re-keyed all our locks and made sure the new keys he had brought with him worked smoothly with the locks. I was interested to learn how the re-keying works, and he patiently showed me the inner workings of the locks and the steps to re-key them.
