Mr. Lee
Kev H.

Wow, I didn't realize Mr. Lee Chicken had opened a second location in Concord. I only just found out, and it's even closer to home. We were excited and decided to give it a try. We stuck with our usual favorites, the Mr. Lee flavor and the soy. Both tasted just as good as we remembered from the original location. The Mr. Lee flavor is still our favorite because it has a really complex profile that balances sweet, savory, and spicy perfectly. The soy option leans more sweet and savory, making it a great choice for anyone who doesn't enjoy spice. We also tried the Korean style cheese corn appetizer, which was delicious. We had to get it "to go", so we didn't get to fully enjoy it straight off the sizzling hot plate, but the flavor was still great. One small downside is that they gave us two ranch dressings instead of pickled radish, which was disappointing because when we placed our order online there was no place to indicate our preference. So we were stuck with the ranch dressings, which were hugely disappointing because they tasted like the Hidden Valley ranch kind. I would have much preferred the radish and wish they had given us the opportunity to choose. Aside from that, the food was good, and we are really happy to have this location closer to us.

Chicken Katsu Bento Box

Great service and delish food! I ordered the chicken katsu bento box and it was cooked to perfection. Also came with two potsticker which is not in picture cuz I forgot to take the pic before I started eating. I liked that they added a good amount of veggies with bite size kimchi. I'll be back to try other items.

20 piece fried chicken

This is the new spot for the well-known Mr. Lee Chicken on Monument Blvd. Friendly greeting when we walked in. Ordered the 20 piece with half Mr.Lee sauce and half garlic. Chicken was crispy, moist, and full of flavor. We also ordered a Bulgogi lunch special- this was a tray full of meat and sides. Everything was excellent! We'll definitely put this in our rotation.

Inside of the restaurant. It used to be I teriyaki but the old owners transferred ownership to these new guys and they opened the store.

Pretty clean place to go to! Customer service was fantastic! There was an older couple ahead of us and they took their time in getting their order while also taking mine. We just got the boneless soy sauce chicken and it came out really good! The batter was crispy and the flavor wasn't over powering at all. I will definitely come back to try their other k-food items! Happy to have a new Asian restaurant open down in the area!

PSA for anyone who loves Korean comfort food -- there's a brand-new spot in town serving Korean fried chicken and looks like it's run by a Korean family. You can really feel the care they put into their food and into making you feel welcome the moment you walk in. We ordered their fried chicken and... WOW. Super crispy on the outside, perfectly juicy inside -- exactly what Korean fried chicken should be. The flavors were legit and not overly salty or greasy. We also tried the gimbap and the stir-fried kimchi fried rice, and every dish tasted like a home-cooked meal you'd get in Korea. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and so much heart in every bite. It's exciting to see a true mom-and-pop shop bringing great Korean flavors to the neighborhood. If you're looking for a new go-to spot for comfort food, definitely check them out and show some love -- they deserve it!

Inside seating - so clean & spacious!

If you're looking for an authentic & delicious Korean chicken joint this is your place!! Made me feel like I was back in Korea eating their street food. Chicken wings were so crispy and juicy, & they were so generously coated in their sauces. Waffle fries were also so crispy & fresh! The kimbap was delicious, warm & fresh as soon as I took a bite - everything just too yummy!! Freshly made & also served in a timely manner. They were so kind & made sure we were given utensils & condiments as well. The inside was very warm, extremely clean & organized. Service was very welcoming, we were greeted with warm smiles as soon as we walked in :) 10/10 recommend!

You must try this place!! They serve authentic Korean food, and it's popular for all the right reasons. The kimbap is absolutely delicious and my favorite! I also tried the chili fried shrimp and the chicken wings, and both were amazing This is truly my go-to Korean restaurant in Concord!

Met up with family at this restaurant for a weekday lunch. I'm not well-versed on Korean cuisine,…read moreand there are only a few dishes I feel safe ordering with the short ribs being one of them. Our group ordered the 2 meat/2 soup special for 4 persons and it was definitely enough food for our group. The short ribs were excellent and I even enjoyed the soups (not sure what they're called, but one was pork and one was beef). Excellent service throughout and the place was very busy. Parking could be a challenge depending on the time of day as it's shared with other merchants.

Something against Filipinos? Or me? Did I do something wrong? I ordered bibimbap and so did my dad. My sister got tofu soup. My mom was sharing soup with her. It was obnoxiously loud because there was a birthday being celebrated at the table in the middle (not the staff's fault but maybe this got on the staff's nerves?) I asked for 1 refill of the side dishes. 1. Waitress gives us a refill. So that's the initial set of side dishes and 1 refill. As my dad goes up to the back portion of the restaurant to pay, I ask for another refill of side dishes. Lady with shorter hair says, "no." with a stern look of disgust. I go, "uhh..okay." Really weird, that's never happened before, ever. My sister and mom left a few minutes prior and got their tofu soup to go because of how loud it was--we weren't done with our meal they just wanted to get out of there. If the soup was still on the table and all 4 of us were sitting down, would she still have said no? We then left a $5 tip (I wanted to give $0 actually after what just happened). As I left the table and went out the door, I saw the waitress looking at our table from the back where you pay, she was checking to see if we even left a tip (because my dad didn't put a tip on the bill as we like to leave cash tips). Just all around bad vibes. I very rarely give 1 star reviews. Actually the food here is unfortunately phenomenal, so if you've never had a bad experience here go ahead and continue eating here it's great. Food portions are terribly small for the price you pay. It's a flat out rip off for the cost. Maybe if their service was good it would justify the cost, but their service as described above, despicable. I know my thoughts are all over the place but I'm a bit rattled still at what just happened. I finished eating there 7:48pm, it's 8:03pm as I'm typing this on my phone in the car while the memory is fresh. That's how irked I am. They did not refill our water or ask to refill our water until I asked, and I only asked once. I saw they asked other tables if they wanted refills of water. That, plus the side dish refill and the short haired lady who's probably the owner saying no? I never want to come back. I felt disrespected, unappreciated, and felt racially profiled like because I'm Filipino she didn't like our kind there or something. The vibes were really off. I'm never coming back here voluntarily. At least that's how I feel right now. My experience, 0/5. The food, unfortunately 4/5, Score: 1 star because that's the lowest I can give it. Expect to see this review on here, Google, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and TikTok. To the owner / waitress who didn't give me refills on the side dishes, if you're reading this: didn't think I'd go this far to share my experience did you? The angry side of me hopes you lose business. The more peaceful side of me hopes you read this, think about what you did and if it was right, and think about your customer service and making people that come to your establishment and paying you to eat your food, happy. Because the look you gave when you said, "no." When I asked for the refill of side dishes, you might as well have spit on my face. That's how it felt. If you feel no remorse over this incident, then I wish poorly on your business, but I doubt this review will affect your profits. Good bye. Never again.

Service was amazing here as the staff attentive. Tangerine Soju slush (5/5): Was going to get the strawberry one, but the staff recommended this one instead. I am so glad I took their advice. It wasn't too sweet and tasted fresh. Beef tartare (5/5): Definitely one of the best I've ever tried. A pile of raw beef pieces on top of slices of pears and topped with a raw egg. The creaminess from the runny egg really enhances the flavors of the beef. The pear was refreshing and added a hint of freshness Seafood pancake (5/5): This was also one of the best I've ever had. There was plenty of seafood and the outter batter was crunchy. Cold noodle (5/5): Was very refreshing on a hot day, but the mustard was very spicy. Probably recommend this if you're not sharing with a large party. Original Kalbijim (5/5): Now time for the star of the show. I really recommend getting it with cheese. The meat was fall right off the bone and tender. The flavor of the sauce was complex with many different tastes Daeho did not let me down once again.

Gen was the first K-bbq spot I ever tried, so it'll always have a special place in my heart. Over…read morethe years, though, so many K-bbq restaurants have opened up that unfortunately Gen kind of slipped off my radar. But this week, something came over me, and I decided to give it another shot. Lunch was about $22 per person as of June 2026. I remember going to the Concord location years ago and feeling like the portions were pretty small, even though you could order it as many times as you wanted. This time around though, our experience was completely different. Every order came out piled high like a mountain of meat. Everything was fresh, the marinades were on point. On top of that, our server was so friendly and attentive. Honestly, if I could give this place six or seven stars out of five, I would!!! Honey Soy Beef Belly: Absolutely amazing. The beef was sliced thin with the perfect ratio of meat to fat. The sweet and savory marinade complemented the richness of the beef belly oh so perfectly. I also loved the generous amount of green onions they sprinkled on top, which made this dish even more inviting. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Beef Belly: This is basically the unseasoned version of the Honey Soy Beef Belly, so the quality of the meat was just as good. The nice thing is that you can customize each bite with the seasonings at the table, whether it's Green Tea Salt, Sesame Oil, or Sweet Soy Sauce. Simple but delicious. Bulgogi: Bulgogi has never been my favorite since I usually prefer savory over sweet, but this was still very good. The beef was tender, the marinade was flavorful, and everything was well balanced. That said, I'd still pick the Beef Belly dishes over this one. Chadol: This beef brisket used to be my go to order at Gen. Somewhere along the way, though, they switched to a leaner cut of meat. So now it wasn't quite as tender as I remembered. Still though, the meat was fresh and tasty. Honestly, it really comes down to your personal preference and whether you enjoy a leaner cut or a fattier cut. Pork Belly: Thick slices of unseasoned Pork Belly that you grill yourself and cut into smaller pieces then dip in Sesame Oil and Salt? Yes please! These were incredibly satisfying. Once cooked, the pork was even still tender and juicy. Easily my favorite pork option. Spicy Marinated Squid This dish had that classic Korean spicy sauce that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors super duper well. The squid stayed tender after grilling, it was amazing. I'd definitely order this again. Hotteok: A Korean style pancake filled with Brown Sugar and Peanuts. It's definitely a heavier dessert after a bbq meal than what I usually prefer, but it was still really good. The outside was pleasantly chewy (mochi like texture), while the filling was warm, sweet, and gooey. Kimchi Fried Rice: Don't sleep on this one because their Kimchi Fried Rice was fantastic. It had the perfect balance of tang and savory flavors, and it paired well with all the bbq meats. Super yummy.

But they had me sign an agreement to basically promise that I pay 18% which I obliged. However, they did not earn that 18%. Everyone's attitudes were very crappy especially when they had to move our entire party because THEIR grill wouldn't fire up and would keep cutting out on us. It was as if WE were an inconvenience to them. Respect is earned and not given and I feel the same about tips. Their workers clearly showed themselves as if they didn't want to be there. I was looking at everyone's name tag and Aniyah was one who stood out most for having a really bad attitude and talking under her breath as i was trying to get our bill situated After having to move 3 times, I had advocated that our fountain drinks be removed from the bill because that was the least they could do for the crappy experience. Making that happen felt like pulling teeth. I'd advise avoiding the back corner grill overall. I won't be coming here anymore. As an ex-service worker, customer service is #1 and this place aint it. God Bless.
