Efficient and tasty, the place hits the spot when you find yourself randomly craving a Viet sandwich and need it in your mouth ASAP. $10/banh mi, which is a bit steep compared to other places but those places aren't anywhere near here so you're willing to shell out the extra bucks no matter what; nice move, Mr. B, nice move indeed. I can't comment on the drinks and other food items on the menu but I wouldn't be surprised if they're just as delectable as the sandwiches. Be sure to swing by for a sandwich box, you won't be disappointed! read more

I had always passed by this tiny store but never got around to try it. So glad I did today, I had the Mr Banh Mi sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it! The bread tasted fresh and soft, the meats (3 different kinds) all were yummy, along with the cilantro and pickles! Will come back and try their other options soon! read more

They've definitely nailed their banh mi flavors, each one distinct enough yet all tastes great. Their buns come a bit small compared to other places, but they don't cheap out on ingredients. Their rice dishes are decent as well, but you don't go to Mr Banh Mi and not get a banh mi! read more

New kid on the block. Banh mis are a hit or miss. Especially for new places trying to perfect or create their own twist on it. Mr banh mi didn't disappoint. Flavors are really good and the appetizers are well portioned. lemongrass pork banh mi - highly recommend this one. Very different and tasty. Mr banh mi - good flavor, good bread. I just know I will be craving their bread again one day. Part of me didn't want to eat this for lunch, since it's banh mi. They're so common. BUT, word of mouth saying their food was bussin got me curious. Turns out, these are probably the best unique banh mis I've ever had. The place is definitely more of a grab and go, with standing only seating that was very close to the cashier area. The menu was simple enough, with apps, drinks, sandwiches, and bowls. The Traditional ($10) was with the Viet ham and such, but without the BBQ pork pieces. Mr. Banh Mi ($10) was the typical #1 with the pork. The Traditional was more clean tasting, good for those looking for something light. Mr. Banh Mi is that level up, with stronger flavor from the mayo of the BBQ pork. But regardless, the key ingredient was all in that bread! It's been so hard to find that perfect pillowy bite, but they do it correct here. It didn't even need to be toasted to a crisp, as it was all in that baguette freshness. Although the banh mi is more expensive than I'm used to, I would pay more for that bread. I'd definitely come back to try more of their options! read more

Glad to finally have a solid banh mi restaurant in Bensonhurst. I got the Mr. Banh Mi, the Traditional and the Lemongrass Chicken and they were all absolutely delicious. The bread is what differentiates it from your run of the mill Chinatown banh mi. You can adjust the heat level as well. Spicy means they add jalapeno peppers to the sandwich YUM! $10 for a banh mi, which seems pricy but keep in mind that these sandwiches are packed and huge. I'm definitely comfortably full after eating just half the sandwich. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other menu items! read more

Ordered via DoorDash, food came pretty quickly. I had to review immediately after eating, this definitely turned my shift around. Amazing quality taste and authentic. I decided to stop by to grab some food because I saw people posting on Instagram about a new viet spot that opened up in Bensonhurst. The store front was clean and well kept, this is more of a take out spot. The guy at the counter was very nice and quick to take my order. What I ordered - Meat lover rice bowl - a ton of different meats and plenty of rice, I was overwhelmed but in a good way. This was very filling. There could be more "greens", I noticed only a few cucumber slices. Mr. Banh mi - tasty and I really liked the baguette. My boyfriend had no complaints about this. Thai ice tea - not enough ice so it was more room temperature, there was barely any Thai ice tea taste and it felt like it was missing something. Viet coffee - average, wasn't the best or the worst but like the Thai ice tea there was not enough ice making it room temperature. Overall, since this shop is relatively new there is still room for improvement and I wish Mr Banh Mi best of luck. read more

A new gem added in the Bensonhurst area! This is a new shop that specializes in Vietnamese cuisine such as banh mi, rice/vermicelli bowls and appetizers. All of the appetizers are a must-get! I really enjoyed the rocket rolls as well as the spring rolls. For the banh mi, I recommend to get the Mr. Banh Mi as it's their specialty banh mi. Their baguettes are made fresh every day & are made in house. I got the bulgogi and lemongrass pork bowl and they are amazing! Everything was well seasoned. The service was top notch. Very small spot, but still a good option to pick up a meal. Great drink options; got the cold ice tea and Thai tea. Mixed feeling for the bahn mi. Great crispy bread with no jerky pull. My husband and I stumbled upon this place when we were parking while going to another restaurant. Decided to give it a try since I was craving for Vietnamese sandwich. It was good! The bread was really fresh and crispy. It cost more than places at 8th ave but it was good. We got Hong Kong milk tea and Vietnamese coffee to try. I love their HK milk tea! I saw it online with 4.8 stars rating. I drove more than 20 miles to try it out, I rate it 1 star, the bread is crumbling, the cold cut really bad, small quantity, no taste, carrot and daikon are bland, it's supposed to be sour from vinegar, very disappointed with the place, I will never return. read more

My wife and I usually drive 30 mins for Banh Mi from our fav spot but this new spot saves me an hour round trip. We thought they looked small in the pictures online (we were wrong) so we ordered 3 to share between the two of us. Neither of us could make it to the third. The bread is crispy yet fluffy, the pate is creamy and rich with a perfect balance from the pickled veg. Grab a iced coffee with it and you won't be sorry. Strong but not bitter and not overly sweet. This vietnamese banh mi is definitely different from the normal banhmi. We got the mr. Banhmi, the chicken lemongrass, as well as the spring rolls and ice coffee. The bread is crunchy on the outside, but soft on the inside. The bbq pork and the pickled radish/ carrot are not overwhelming the flavor, they are more on the light side and they not as sweet as other banh mi sandwiches i had. The spring rolls is crispy and fresh, i requested the spicy sauce and it was just perfect. Again the sauce is not as sweet, just perfect amount of fish sauce and sugar. The store space itself is limited but its comfortable for 4 bar table seating facing the street. The service was great, the guy was very friendly and kind. I would def come back whenever in the mood for banh mi. read more

Was in the mood for a banh mi and stumbled on this new spot on a food app. I love me a good banh mi but have yet to find one around me that I enjoyed. For the Mr.Banh Mi, the bread was one point, crispy with a soft chew to it. The picked veggies was just the right amount. I hate it when you get too much and the bread soaks it up. The meats portion was just the right amount as well. The mayo and pate felt a bit much but this was just probably a worker with a heavy hand. I enjoy my banh mi even more esp since it came with a sufficient amount of cilantro and a jalapeño that was actually spicy (hate it when it's not). Overall it's a solid banh mi and worth getting over and over and making it part of your weekly lunch spot. read more

Its quite pricey for a banh mi compared to other places in Brooklyn. But being the only one in Bensonhurst, it's pretty good. I haven't dined in, most of the time I order to-go. The bread it's self is good for me, but you can ask for the bread to be toasted longer. I didn't like how the meat was grounded (crumbs). But there was a lot of vegetables which I also rlly liked. I ordered from here quite a few times since it opens. I wanted to give a brief update on my recent visit to Mr. Banh mi. The food quality remains good, but the portion size has noticeably reduced. It's a common practice for restaurants to adjust their portion sizes and pricing over time. In my opinion, it would be better to raise prices while preserving both food quality and portion size, rather than reducing the portion sizes... now I feel like I didn't get what I paid for...because I was expecting a perfect Mr. Banh mi as advertised. read more

After hearing many people rave about this place, I caved into trying it. As someone who grew up in a big vietnamese community and moved to NY where there is very little of us, it's very hard to find a good authentic place. I've only been able to come across 2. This place is definitely more modernized so I didn't have any high expectations as most vietnamese places in NY are chinese owned or chinese/vietnamese. I'm not too sure if this place was aiming for authenticity. If they were then my taste buds are too accustomed to back home WhatI ordered: Mr Banh Mì: not my favorite. I forced myself to eat the first half just because I didn't want to waste it. The ratio was questionable. The butter they used was not great. Almost nothing about it reminded me of home. Not a fan of the bread either, it fell apart while I was eating making the whole thing super messy. Nuoc Mam Wings: Super plain. Didn't have that punch that most fish sauce chicken wings should have. Iced coffee: It was okay, not bad but you can't really mess up that bad on VN iced coffee I was so disappointed I had to order from my usual spots to fix my cravings read more

This place is absolutely amazing. I'm a sucker for quality and value and this place delivers both. Got the Meat Lovers Bowl and Bulgogi Bowl and they were both completely stuffed to the top with meat and were absolutely delicious and juicy. The Rocket Rolls were fried up perfectly and the dipping sauce had a nice spicy kick (you could also get it not spicy if you wanted, but why would you??). The Thai Iced Tea and Vietnamese Coffee had great flavor and was not too sweet. The space is cozy and clean and owners are fantastic and friendly. Yay! A nice, quick bahnmi spot in southern Brooklyn that doesn't skimp out on ingredients, has a simple menu and most importantly is delicious! Personally really enjoy that my sandwich comes in a box to catch all my baguette crumbs as well. Tried the shrimp rolls which were stuffed to the brim with ingredients and not doughy at all. Been hearing great things about Mr Banh Mi & since they've just opened up on Uber eats, I decided to give it a go. Let me tell you- the food did not disappoint. I got the rocket rolls, spring rolls, crack wings & mr banh mi!! I was so shocked that the rocket rolls and spring rolls were still SO CRISPY AND CRUNCHY after Uber eats took their sweet time to get to me!! I got mild wings- which were juicy & and the meat just fell right off the bone. The mr banh mi was also HEAVENLY. Lemme tell you I ordered the rolls again the weekend afterward & im still shocked at how crispy and yummy they are delivered. They felt a little stale and had no bounce. Not amazing, but overall a satisfying meal!

The bread is crispy, the ingredients are super fresh, and the tastes combine perfectly. The decor is perfect for this kind of spot. No frills. There are three tables and a bunch of chairs. It's exactly what I want in a takeout type place. They concentrate on the food. So, to wrap this one up. Go. I'd say that I'll be back, but I've been coming here for years.
