I went to MP Nail Salon to have my eyebrows waxed. They are right near Trader Joe's. The location is convenient. I'd been there before and have had no problems - until today. As I'm lying the waxing table, the woman looks at my brows and mumbles something about there being nothing there. That should have been a huge red flag. No, I don't have thick brows, but with a few strays removed here and there, they are nicely shaped. That's all I was asking. Instead, she took out the scissors and began cutting away. Then she waxed. I knew something was wrong when she didn't even offer me the mirror. I had to ask for it. I was mortified. My eyebrows are all but gone. Obviously, they didn't expect me to pay and the owner (?) tried to apologize, but there's nothing they can do. The woman who waxed my brows clearly didn't have enough training. Made an appt. today for 12:30 pm for a manicure. It is now 1:05 pm and I am still waiting! No point of making an appointment if they can't commit to it. I went to get a wax and manipedi here for prom. It was pretty busy, but I got done in about an hour. I got gel French tip nails. After a week, the polish is still on. The lady who did my wax did a good job, trimming and plucking the hairs she couldn't wax. The man who did my pedi did am excellent job with multiple coats between dries. read more

I recommend Nina! I gave them 4 stars because for some strange reason, each person has a different method for pedicures. It would be best if everyone would just do the same method instead of Getting surprised every time you go in and if a different thing happening. I found out about this nail salon by my cousin when they first opened and I must say that I absolutely love them! They are very friendly and never really have to wait long to get my pedicure. The place is pretty brand new with new chairs and new equipment. The prices are good and decent as well. If your looking to get your nails done then I suggest that this is the place! read more

I just moved up here in January and needed a good nail shop. I decided to try this place after trying several that weren't that great. This place is very clean and the staff was nice. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and despite being busy, they took me in less than 10 mins for a Shellac mani and French pedi. The pedi was very good and they made sure they got all the dead skin off my feet and gave me a great foot massage before painting my toes. I forgot my flip-flops, so they gave me there's. I expected those stupid floppy, barely passable foam ones that make you walk funny. Instead, I was incredibly surprised with some cute regular pink and white ones that said summer on them!! How cool is that?! They're Shellac and regular pedi last forever(like a month!!) and their prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be back!!! P.S. Went in to get a refill done, she was so horribly rough on removing the old acrylic that she tore half of my nail off!!! Im so upset! I had told her to be gentle before that but she continued being rough! Do not go to her! My nails still hurt, I had to walk out with horrible looking hands! They do an amazing job on gel nails and pedicures. They have the perfect match so you can do gel manicure and regular pedicures. The paint on the pedi lasts just as long and the ladies and gentleman do an great paint job. My nails look great every time. They have plenty of chairs and workers so you almost can always get in as long as you call ahead of time. I love that they stay open late so I can still make it after working a full day. I've been here in the past and really liked their work but recently I went here and an older woman did my nails. She messed up multiple times when she polished my nails and made them too thick! When I told her about the errors she didn't fix them and started speaking about me in her language. Didn't appreciate that so I didn't tip her and I will not return to this place. This is not my first time coming to this nail salon. Every time I do come, there is an issue. It's either they can't take me on time even with appointment, they're rude, or unprofessional. Today, I went in 5 minutes prior to my appointment time and was asked to sit down as soon as I walked in which was great. However, I wasn't able to pick my own color Bc the lady told me to "come here and sit.. Sit honey". Cold Water was flowing in the foot bowl and I asked her to change the water 3x. Every time she would just turn on lukewarm water me not empty out the bowl therefore still leaving me in cold water. She left me in the cold bowl with no jets even running for a total of 13 minutes. Another lady came after her and began to start the pedicure. I asked her to change the water and empty it out which she did and filled it with warmer water. This lady now was very rough with me and seemed like she was enjoying jabbing me in my nail beds with her metal tools. She seen I was uncomfortable but yet kept going. A few minutes in she tells me how my toe nails are short and how I should come back in 2 weeks for another pedicure (I take really good care of my feet). I ask her if I can get French and she says no because my toe nails are too short and she needs to leave early for her son. Is that my issue? The nice lady besides me have me her pretty color to use and I just used that. Pedicure lasted 20 min and wasn't enjoyable and just blah. Customer service sucked. Save your money and go else where! An excellent nail shop in Pinole. Clean, open space, brand new equipment, and a staff that pays attention to detail and provides quality service/work. The manicure tables have UV lights on the sides where you can slip your hand in and get a layer of heat while your other hand gets cleaned, painted, massaged, etc. It's very efficient. The layout of the shop is airy, and doesn't smell so strongly of acetone and polish. They do an excellent job with mani/pedis as well as shellac. Although, they need more shellac color options. First time in the place, I walk in about 4 pm on a Thursday. They were busy and told me to wait and that they would service me. I needed a fill, pedi and eyebrow wax. I waited about 20 minutes and they started with my fill first. My nails turned out ok but he didn't cut it as short as I wanted but the shaping of the nail turned out how I like it. After that was done I had to wait another 30 minutes for them to start on my pedi. I did the sea salt pedi and that turned out great. I asked how long. She said 7 30. At this time itis already 6 30 and remember I walked in the place at 4. The service of this place is horrible. No wait, it was just my service was horrible because I noticed others were being treated more better than I. I was there so long because they were putting people ahead of me. During my pedi they didn't offer to turn the massage chair on but they did with the lady next to me. They treated me like as if I didn't have the money or they didn't want my money. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. I have gone here a few times and never was pleased with their service but it's close to my house. Today I went in and all I asked if they had time to do a fill and pedi and if I would be done in 2 hours. Otherwise I'm ok with just getting a pedicure. The main lady that works there said yes. She sat me down to get a pedicure by this one lady who if you all have been there you will know who I'm talking about. She is rude and super rough. My pedicure was like 20 minutes long! Thats it! Then when I got my nails done by the main lady who sits closest to the door, she made one nail really thick so I asked her if she can thin it out. She got the nail machine that goes underneath the back of your finger nail and did it so hard I started bleeding. It is still thick! I can't believe that people like going here! I learned my lesson and now know that all they care about is money not service. Both are equally important but if you don't offer great service you will not see the money.
