The first couple times my mother and I got manicures and pedicures here, we were amazed at what we got! Great nails and no complaints, we thought we finally found "our nail place". After going to many different nail salons to find one that provided excellent customer service and beautiful nails, we thought our search had ended. However, we came back and it turned into my worst nail NIGHTMARE! I got a fill for my acrylic nails, and during the process the manicurist ripped open my cuticles with the file not one, but four times. She shaved down my nails so much it started to burn. One cut was dramatically worse than the others, and she apologized as I was bleeding from my cuticle. After she had made 4 of my fingers bleed, she then proceeded to wipe alcohol over the cuts several times before I was finished. To shy to speak up, I thought she'd Atleast discount my nails, but no. Your basic low budget nail salon. They are all about serving as many customers as possible. Not focusing on you but looking at the door in hopes someone is coming in and when someone does come in they rush to finish you off as quickly as possible. Not relaxing at all just stressful to say the least. Making an appointment doesn't mean much to them as you will wait especially when they are busy (waited 30 minutes last time with an appointment!). Sanitation is questionable as I saw a guy that works there using nail clippers without sanitizing them (he used them on me and the person right after me without using any "bacti" solution!). Had my first visit today. I didn't have an appointment so I had to wait but not very long. I requested a Mani/Pedi. I love that they performed both services individually. I was serviced by Lynn. She was great. Very professional and detail oriented. She asked me what I wanted (color, shape of nails, etc.) and personalized the service as per my requests. She offered the salt scrub which was $10 more but worth it. In total I spent $32 plus tip which she deserved. I woke up early to go my usual nails salon...once I got they were already busy and packed. They told me to come back at 1pm, which I already knew that they wouldn't see me at 1. I left and looked up at yelp and found MP and I have to say this place is so nice and peaceful!!!!!! Didn't feel rushed or waited so long( didn't wait at all). So the first time I went to this place the service was decent and my nails came out cute. So I returned. The second time I wasn't so lucky and got horrible service, but my nails came out cute again, with some minor things like shilac hanging off my nails, but whatever. For some reason I kept going back. But this time was the last straw, I called ahead and we waited 30 minutes, then I asked for a simple design, and the woman tells me no designs. What?! Anyways I asked her if anyone else could, so another woman finished my nails, meanwhile talking a whole bunch of crap. Then she doesn't give me a massage! I've been to this place a few times. Pretty good for a quick manicure. They were able to get me in when i called a few hrs prior to appointment. Parking and traffic can be horrendous when school gets out. Prices are average. One of the ladies was using a nail file to "file" down a scab or something on her arm which I found a little disturbing but idk if it was then used on a costumer or something (she wasn't doing my nails so.....). Quite simply the best salon I have found in the area. I used to go to the Hawaiian place over in the Tara Hills shopping center, but the folks that work there would cheap change my pedicure the more I came in. So I started searching, again, for a good place with decent pricing. (I'm from SF where salons are a dime a dozen, $20 max.. so $30+ salons don't impress me, they make me shy away) My sister and I found MP one night when I couldn't find a single salon open, even though their business hours said they would be. We got some snacks, since when we called, they said they were a bit busy. They seated us and had our pedi's done beautifully. I get horrible ingrown toenails, so finding someone who knows how to get the stuff out, without making me bleed or causing me too much pain.. that was awesome. After all is said and done, I usually add the salt scrub and I usually get french tips, which like everywhere, is a little extra. Including tip, I always walk out having just spent $30 and no more. Finding the time can be daunting, but even after 6 weeks, my pedicure looks amazing.. my nails just look long. :P read more

Never had my nails done here but did have my eyebrows waxed Sunday and am sad to say it was the worst wax job I've ever had. Pros: the nail salon is relatively nice looking inside, they were busy, the staff was very friendly and the eyebrow wax was very (too?) inexpensive. Cons: I knew from the technician's first application of wax that she wasn't doing it right despite her confident demeanor (and her own immaculately trimmed brows). Too little wax and she applied it unevenly on both eyebrows. Then she ended up trimming with scissors and cut parts of my eyebrows way too short and left the ends too long and disheveled. !? The final result made absolutely no sense at all. Plus she failed to "get" the hairs above the eyebrow. All around disappointing. I've gone to many cheap places to get my eyebrows waxed and they have all done a relatively good job but this place failed. If you really want a nice experience do yourself a favor and go to one of the European wax centers. That's where I will return next time. Costs more but they really know what they are doing. read more

Was a loyal customer fot 3 years, now I'm not. Was told it would be a 1hr wait. I walked out to hand over my grandson to his mother and came back in 10 minutes later. Mind you I have been already waiting for 20 minutes. As I went to select my colors for mani and pedi I was told to return in 4 hrs! WTF! This review has been long overdue. I've been coming to MP Nails ever since they have opened and have a wonderful experience every time I visit, which is why I won't go anywhere else! I am always taken care of by Sang, I use to call him Sam for the longest before I realized I've been saying his name completely wrong (oops!). I believe he is the owners husband. I typically am not a fan of male manicurist, only because I feel they don't see eye to eye on what I want in terms of shape, thickness, etc. I am also a very avid nail bitter which makes getting a full set difficult and I have been turned away by other salons for having "nubs" before. But not by Sang! He always listens to what I want and takes his sweet time , which I love , because it ensures that I cares about having a happy customer! He's never cut me and he's very patient and precise. I only get manicures but my friends who get pedicures here never leave disappointed. They have a wonderful gel color selection, along with mood gel colors, and I believe they now offer the new trending "chrome" dust now. I can't wait to try that! Oh and very appropriately priced! Overall 5 stars from me! I love this place! read more

Last time I came here, I got a pedi done and my nails were painted unevenly. The lady mainly painting the middle part only, Leaving lines of different layers visible on the side. Plus after she finish my pedi. She did not wait until my polish was dry, she just put on my sandals and sent me off. Although I did walk to the drying table thinking she would turn on the fan for me.. Sadly she did not. I stayed for 2 mins and left. I set a appointment for 3 people and was very disappointed with my service because it took over 2 hours for just my pedicure & to add injure to injury multiple nail technicians came to assist. Each nail tech rushed on me and when I asked why are you rushing she says I have another client coming in. Mind you, I have a appointment just as everyone else & the two others I came with have already finished getting there manicure and pedicures as I was still getting a pedicure. I then said I was unhappy with the service and no longer wanted a manicure because they took over 2hrs on my pedicure and the two others I am with are already finished. When I explained how unhappy I was she then got physical with me. Never again will I come here or recommend anyone else to. NEVER IS IT OK to get physical with a client that is bringing you other return clients! that is ridiculous I have lost all respect for this nail place. NEVER COMING AGAIN! I have been a regular client at MP nails for almost 3 years now only because of their fair pricing. I normally get full set acrylics that is done by the man all the way on the left end side. A couple times he has been rude about me commenting about wanting to go shorter with my nails and gets irritated and tries to rush me but I never minded it since my nails have always came out decent and has never broken on me. Regular manicures and pedicures on the other hand are not worth coming here. They will rush and won't give the proper "salon" treatment. Today had completely changed my mind about the service. I scheduled an appointment at 1 bringing 2 other people with me. We waited an hour and I explained to the guy if he can do my nails and referred me to someone else. The other guy took me in and I explained to him that we scheduled an appointment for an hour and a half ago and they still havent taken in my 2 other guests. He mentioned to the techs that they have been waiting. I then realized one of the younger techs, who wears heels, took someone else in who not only arrived later than us but had a 1:30 appt, 30min after our appt. Another waiting customer just asked a question politely and explained how herself and along w my guests have been there waiting and the nail tech completely just brushed her off. Having my 2 guests outraged by how rudely she acted, they left and waited for me since I was already in the process of getting my nails done. The guy's name is Michael who done my nails and let me tell you, he is amazing. He was very apologetic and took his time with me when he seen how irritated I was and told him how long we've been waiting. He does not have a set schedule to work there but if u make an appointment ahead of time, he will come in and service you. Everyone else is plain rude. They reuse everything making it less sanitary. Other than getting your nails done here with Michael, find another nail salon. They have lost a faithful client who has referred many people. But not anymore. read more

Since a lot of my co-workers come to this place and with my regular shop not being open on Sundays I decided to try this place out. That decision was definitely the wrong one. I came in on Sunday for a gel fill. Once I came in I was seated with a lady and told her that one of my nails was cracked she rubbed her finger over it and could tell there was some serious repairing that needed to be done. She spoke to another nail tech and then I was moved to a gentlemen that was going to do them. So I sat there the whole time watching him do my nails and to see if he was going to do anything with my cracked nail. All he did was overlay it with acrylic never doing anything to repair it. So 25 dollars and 45 minutes later I go into my car and look at my nails and notice that my nails have not been filled or colored to its entirety. I just got my nails done and it still looks like I need a fill!!! And to make matters worst I get home and my cracked nail has broken off!!! I returned the next day and told them I was just there the day before. I sat down with a different gentlemen who definitely rushed through the whole repair and made my one nail look completely different than the rest! To top off the whole experience they still charged me 3 dollars for the repair even when knowing I was there the day before (the lady who I assume is the owner was there both times)!! I was too pissed off to even start arguing with someone who obviously doesn't care about customer service or loyalty. I definitely will never return and advise anyone to avoid this place. read more

I called and made an appointment for 2pm for my and my sister-in-law and requested to have female technicians only since I have read some reviews on here that were negative regarding a gentleman nail tech. I also asked ahead of time if there were people available that were good with nail art. We showed up about 5 minutes early and was told to pick out our polish colors. We did so and then sat down in the waiting area. We were not taken to our pedicure hairs until 2:20. Then continued to sit in the water waiting for another 20 minutes. A guy came over and started working on my SIL. After I had specifically requested a female technician. I continued to sit there waiting for another 10 minutes before ANOTHER guy came over to work on me. By this point, my water was cold. he asked what kind of polish I wanted. I showed him a very specific photo. Nothing too hard. And remember, I asked ahead of time if there was someone who was good as nail art. He seemed to not think he could do it, or did not understand me, so he called over a woman. She took a look at it and said "oh no problem, anything you want." He then started working on me very quickly. Digging and pulling at the sides of my toe nails. I told him many times he was hurting me and that I believed what he was trying to yank out was actually supposed to be attached. He would not listen. He continued to dig at my toes. (Keep in mind here, I am actually a licensed cosmetologist and I know what part of the toe nail should be attached and what should not.) He finished at the same time the other tech finished with my SIL. Who started at least ten minutes sooner. When it came time for polish, he again asked what I wanted. When I tried to explain again, he said "french?" No NOT french! The language barrier was the worst I had every experienced! When I finally got him to understand what I wanted, he proceeded to polish and then try to do the nail art I had requested. What happened to the lady who told me "whatever you want"?!? She never came back again. He was not able to do the simple art I requested. I asked him to take it off and showed him another picture of something that was impossible to mess up on. Didn't I specifically ask for someone who could do good nail art?!???! I wouldn't have paid the extra money if I knew they couldn't do anything! I left less than thrilled. My poor SIL had never had a pedicure and I felt bad that she had to witness this for her first time! Her tech was friendly enough, and took his time on her, but the nail art provided my him was pretty horrible as well. And all she requested was some polka dot on her big toes. i have been coming to this place since it opened a little over 5 years ago...i used to love it, it was my go to spot... not any more.... i will never come here again... over the past year this place has been getting worse and worse... the service is bad, they are very rude, they water down the nail polish, you make an appt. and when you get there you need up waiting up to 30mins or they tell you to come back later... i can go on and on..... what really makes me mad is saturday morning me and my little girl like to have girl time so i take her in with me and they treated her bad as well with dirty looks and wouldnt paint her nails because they were "busy".... never again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ive been a loyal customer for too long to get treated this way... so my last time in there i didnt tip and got huge attitude for that.. oh well, you do a bad job you get no love from me ! ohh lets not forget that i saw them reuse the nail files/clippers and other supplies without sanitizing them..... this place disgusts me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
