I called ahead as I wrapped up my work in Placerville. The dining area was clean but the rain kept folks at home as the clean dining area only had one table occupied. I was eventually greeted by the friendly staffer and was served my to go pizza fairly quickly. I was sad to see that the fountain drinks were Pepsi products. I'm a Coke guy. I selected Orange Crush and it seemed overly carbonated coming out of the dispenser, but tasted fine. I really liked the decor and furnishing choices. Simple, and clean, it was sad to see it empty. I ate most of it in the parking lot as I was super hungry. It was raining pretty hard and I didn't feel like driving while eating. Shoulda stayed inside. The pizza was one of the best I've had lately. Generous amounts of ham and pineapple, both fresh, the ham smokey. There was a bit more garlic flavor than I prefer, but it didn't slow me down. I ate more than half that small pizza as the rain pounded away. I'm gonna have to stop here more often. What a great pizza! read more

The worst experiences I've had at Mountain Mike's Pizza. We came in around 9:00 PM to celebrate my dad's birthday, expecting to sit down and eat since the store clearly states it closes at 10:00 PM. Nobody said anything when we walked in. We ordered over $100 worth of pizza, and only AFTER we paid did they tell us we couldn't dine in. That's completely unacceptable. If you don't allow dine-in after a certain time, say it upfront before taking people's money. When we explained we were only planning to eat quickly (20-30 minutes), they refused and even threatened to call the police on us. This made the situation extremely uncomfortable, especially for our kids. One of my children got scared and couldn't even eat, thinking the police were going to come and take her. That's not something any family should have to deal with over a pizza dinner. On top of that, they shut off the soda machine, turned off the games, and locked the bathroom--basically trying to force us out after taking our money. This is not how you treat paying customers, especially families trying to celebrate something important. Very unprofessional, disrespectful, and misleading. I will not be coming back. read more

Worst of the worst we called in our order for pick up absolutely the wrong order. Nothing that we ordered was on the pizza. Not only you wasted our time made our dinner time with family and friends late and had to go somewhere else to fix it. Never go there again. So to keep from being blackballed We had to drive to Placerville store. When we arrived, if course it's cold. My bad. But I can't get anyone to warm it up for us. Just pained expressions. We asked for ranch dressing, sorry we can't supply enough for your two extra large pizzas. The pepperoni pizza we received had little or no tomato sauce. We had to ask them to make pizza, and when they did, it wasn't even normal. The odd combinations of what they topped with were disgusting. We had to ask for a combo, a pepperoni, or something normal. Today was the second visit. We saw 1 employee, we paid $100 for a xlarge, 2 1 trip salads, and 5 sodas! Crust tasted frozen, toppings not fresh, and they were very sparce. I recently received an order that was undercooked. When I returned to the store, the employee handling the situation handled it poorly. He took each slice of my pizza and tore it in half to show me the cooked dough, but didn't have anything to say about the uncooked dough other than "this is how we make all of our pizzas." From calling me a liar to saying that undercooked pizza is how they make all of their pizzas because of the sauce, I left feeling pretty disappointed, especially since this was only half of the order. The other pizza order was cooked. The undercooked pizza made some of my guests sick. Anyone who has made pizza knows that this happens when you either over-top it or lay down too much sauce, cheese, and cook it at a low temperature. This is disappointing, as I have always had a great experience with Mountain Mike's, especially in the Bay Area. I suggest that corporate provide franchise training on processes such as order returns, quality control, and, most importantly, customer service. The employee's solution was to offer me 25% off my next order, but I declined and asked for a refund. He said they couldn't do any refunds and that there was nothing he could do about it. Wow! This is weird I've been buying Mountain Mikes Pizza at the Placerville location at least twice a month for about 6 months. I've never had a complaint! It always been so good and still is. I don't get the negative reviews. I'm not the only one in my family that orders them. A lot of family comes up from Pacific Grove and San Jose to visit my parents, who are 92 & 94 and live next door to me. They're each up here twice a month to visit and sometimes we don't fee like cooking or going out to eat. We all have different pallets, but all of us enjoy the pizza! They estimated it would arrive in 60 minutes. It got here in 70 minutes and the delivery person apologized for being a bit late. It was the best pizza we've had in some time.
