    SMOKED OYSTER ¡!¡
    Anjelica C.

So glad we stopped by this sandwich shop on our drive to tahoe (I think it's gonna be a new go to when we're in the area)! My husband got the smoked oyster sandwich and I got the Kimchi and Spam sandwich and we were both wowed by the unique combinations and how well the ingredients all worked together. Oyster sandwich: this was like a next level BLT. The crunch and flavor from the bacon was perfect, the oysters were subtle but delicious, and the microgreen mix was refreshing. My husband normally hates pickles but he didn't mind them in this sandwich. Spam and kimchi: wow, the toffee peanut butter sauce was incredible. I could order a jar of that. I loved how well it balanced with the kimchi flavors and the kewpie dressed slaw. My only wish was that we could order halves of sandwiches instead and be able to try more of a variety, because the sandwiches are quite large (and priced accordingly) so I wasn't able to finish mine. But I do hope to come with a bigger group next time and hopefully we can split a few sandos to share. I absolutely want to try the thanksgiving sandwich, honey walnut prawns, and maybe even the 4 cheese or grape and feta ones. We did get the fries this time but can probably skip it next time as the sandwiches steal the show. Also, the two workers were so friendly and helpful while we were deciding our orders. Looking forward to visiting again!

Creative sandwich combinations, innovative ways on food recreation! This was such a suprise find, tucked away in Placerville. I got the chicken satay and the spam and kimchi sandwich. The chicken satay sandwich was really good! Perfect stuffing to bread ratio. It was more of a turmeric seasoning rather than a satay one (which emphasizes more on the charcoal grill and peanut sauce). The spam and kimchi was also really good. However there was too much stuffing (to bread ratio). The was a large amount of regular coleslaw, and I would've preferred more kimchi or a kimchi coleslaw of sorts! I would've also like a thicker slice of spam! I would've preferred give this place 3.75/5 stars.

Super delicious sandwiches! They are a bit heavy and some were a little too sweet for our tastebuds, but certainly worth trying. It is a small kitchen tucked into a breezeway of sorts that leads to several other shops. Lots of posters out front showing the different sandwiches, which was a little confusing at first, but then we realized it was a super creative way to show what they had to offer! My only complaint was the price. Much more than I expected for just a sandwich, but they put a lot of ingredients on there and a lot of love into making it, you can tell!

On our way home from camping we wanted to find a great deli and thankfully I had bookmarked this place on Yelp after hearing about it. It's located on the historic Main Street which I've not been to in 40 years! You place your order at a window and boy was it challenging to narrow down what to get. The menu offers incredible and unusual sandwiches. They were a bit too creative for the grandkids yet thankfully they offered a kids burger or grilled cheese. There is a shady patio to eat and your order is delivered to you. I will add that the prices are higher than your normal deli sandwich but they are packed with ingredients and pretty large. As a matter of fact, I had them cut my sandwich in half so I could bring half home, but the sandwich has so many goodies inside it did not fare to well. It was quite messy when I got home. Boy was it ever delicious though! I had the falafel sandwich packed with zesty ingredients. My granddaughters grilled cheese was one of the best (I snuck a bite). My daughter had the apple with Brie and honey which she liked but said it was a bit too sweet. My son-in-law had their version of bahn mi and he loved all the ingredients inside of it. The staff were friendly and patient with our ordering questions. If you're craving a really great and creative sandwich, this is your place!

Everyone from the area I meet praises Timmy's Brown Bag and I definitely get the hype now! It is takeout only but there are several tables inside the alley to grab a seat at. Every sandwich is made to order and each ingredient is thoughtfully put together. Service is great! The staff is super friendly and they really emphasized their ability to accommodate. They had run out of Texas toast for my Midwest Meat Lover's this morning, but I left them to their best judgment and my sandwich still came out delicious! The Chicken Satayam was also delicious and included a thick peanut butter that cut into the savory flavor of the chicken which made for such a well rounded sandwich. The thing I'm sure everyone loves about Timmy's is every sandwich sounds crazy, yet the flavors work; they carry unique options that you won't find anywhere else. The portions are huge and well worth every penny. I will say my leftovers might have even tasted better which is always shocking. Of course I'll be back, I have to try everything now!

I was recommended this establishment while getting my nails done nearby and it did not disappoint. After camping in the woods and eating beans for five days we were hungry for something different and Timmy's Brown Bag is exactly that! The menu is meant to drive a sane person loopy because of the fonts and I love it. I say this as someone who uses comic sans at work for funsies. But the fonts also kind of lean into all of the fun ingredients at play in these creations. Just the experience of reading the menu had me racking my brain to try and imagine the flavor profile of the offerings and I'd say you'll never guess. You just have to go for it. In my head the falafel was playing it safe. The falafel sandwich was so delicious and the flavors explode together to bring so much tang to something that a lot of places make boring with just hummus. Not here, those heirloom tomatoes are the bomb! Husband got the deviled egg salad sandwich and had the same reaction. The sandwiches have that zip that I am always looking for. No need for my pocket hot sauce here. We cannot wait to come back and step outside the comfort zone to order something more daring.

    Spam and Slaw, not kimchi

I got the Spam and Kimchi sandwich. It was delicious!! BUT it isn't kimchi it's cole slaw. My hubby got the Char sui pork and it was also really good. I cant wait to get back that way to try another weird but delicious combination.

We finally made it to the world famous Timmy's. All the gourmet magazine reviews are true here you will find a wide variety of unusual and delicious sandwiches, hamburgers, and tacos. The Mexican food is well prepared. The falafel sandwich is sensational, even though it's not served on a pita. There are nice tables outside to eat. The young man who waited on us was exceptionally kind and even brought out a bowl of water for our dog. We will be back.

Innovative, creative and delicious sandwiches. Been wanting to visit Tommy's for awhile and was not disappointed. Tried the bánh mì, plenty of fresh veggies, pork lao sausage instead of your traditional roasted pork was a welcome change. Can't wait to Come back and try something new.

Wow what an eclectic menu!! They have items that may sound familiar but then they add strange twists to the ingredients. Like Tang powder bacon and Russian Korean Carrots! Some of the things may sound strange but rest assured the sandwiches are delicious . The ambiance is fine, it's take out only but there are plenty of tables and even some by a creek. The service was okay too. Workers were chill but it did take a very long time to get food. Glad to finally try this place as every other time I've tried they were sold out. Will be returning if I'm ever in the area again.

    SPAM AND KIMCHI !!!

While being a small sandwich shop, they produce art. I've been to this place 4 times and tried a new sandwich every time, they never disappoint. Just to test the bounds of Timmy's Brown Bag, this last time I tried their spam sandwich, to which I don't even like spam; per usual it made me wonder if their employees moonlight as NASA engineers. I don't have any logical explanation as to how they concoct these sandwiches but they nail it every time. You don't go to Timmy's Brown Bag for incredible ambiance (although eating right next to Main Street isn't so bad) or for a run-of-the-mill sandwich, you go to Timmy's Brown Bag because the quality of sandwich takes your taste buds through a intergalactic, moon landing-esque experience. Everything about the dynamics of their sandwiches are perfect - taste, texture, bread, ingredients and uniqueness. Hyperbole doesn't do these sandwiches enough justice, but if Big Foot is real he eats these sandwiches because they are legendary

Can someone please confirm or refute the multiple reviews complaining the staff do not wear masks appropriately?

Went today, two employees and ZERO masks

Do they do low carb options for the sandwiches like swapping bread for lettuce wrap or salad bowl?

No, but get a sandwich, it's a sandwich shop! You won't regret any of the items you choose, they are all amazing.

They do not, however they do something called a "fast pass" which basically means they put your name down and if you arrive while there's a wait, you get seated before anyone else who is waiting and does not have a fast pass. Kind of a different approach. I was glad that when we arrived, there wasn't anyone else waiting and there were tables available. Service was very attentive and friendly. He took our drink orders and allowed us some time to decide what to eat. Hubs and I both debated between multiple options- a lot sounded so good- but we both decided on the filet mignon. On the menu, it indicated that the dish comes with a béarnaise sauce; my husband really doesn't care for tarragon so he requested a substitution of their mushroom rosemary sauce instead (which is offered with their ribeye), and they happily obliged. The meal also included Yukon mashed potatoes and veggies. Our food was delivered soon after and I was pleasantly surprised that not only were our steaks still very warm but that they were cooked a perfect medium rare. The quality of the steaks was great, they were nice and thick. The veggies were, for the most part, overdone and a bit soggy, but that's not something that bothers me too much. The potatoes had good flavor but could have used much more milk/cream as they were pretty dry and firm. The experience was a good one and I would definitely return if we lived closer. I liked that their menu had a lot to offer- this is a good place for a family who has various tastes. Shout out to our server, Carver, who was great and provided very good service.

Yay! Our new favorite lunch place on Main Street!…read more We just stopped by last weekend, we've been wanting to try this place out but it just hadn't happened.... Last Monday we decided to have lunch there, one of our regular places is closed Mondays and this place was open so we checked it out...and we're SO SO glad we did! Atmosphere was nice and server was very friendly from the moment we walked in. First thing I noticed; $5 mimosas!! I asked if they did anything other than orange juice and yes, they had several other options so I had the cranberry version. Delicious! I went with their mac and cheese, my partner got the basic hamburger. Mac and Cheese -- definitely very bacon forward, much more than I prefer. That being said, I still liked it, it also had sour cream and green onion on top. Bacon lovers will LOOOVE this version, there is LOTS of it and every bite you can taste it. Normally I prefer my mac & cheese with no bacon or just a bit here and there, I prefer to taste more of the cheeses.....again, it still tasted good, its a good serving and I ate half and had enough to save for the next day at work. Creamy and well made, again I just prefer to taste more cheese than bacon. I wouldn't order this again but like I said, a bacon lover will LOVE this version. Now, my partner's burger was Incredible. We are PICKY with our burgers, and we both thought this one was fantastic. Big, and great ratio to the bun. He ordered it medium and asked for "a little char" and they made it perfectly. I took a bite and yeah, I'd order that for sure. The fries were great, too. Overall we were super happy with our lunch, I thought it was priced fairly as well. We will definitely be back!!

The pitfalls of the restaurant seem to be entirely the service. Most recently we went to Franny's on Mother's Day. We had reservations and walked in, on time. We were initially sat in a nice booth in the front of the restaurant. It was my wife and I plus our 2 kids, the table size seemed appropriate. After being sat, we sat without talking to a server for 10+ minutes, not even getting waters. Eventually, when someone did come, it was a waitress/hostess telling us that there had been a mix up, and we needed to move. We weren't excited on the idea, as we were happy where we were, but we moved to the back of the restaurant. This time we sat for 15 minutes without being acknowledged by any wait staff. At this point it is 9:25 and we've been seated for 25 minutes without even water. Finally a waitress comes, and takes our drink order, and our food order as we'd definitely had ample time to look over the menu. About 9:50 the food arrives. My wife and kids' food comes and is great. My food comes and looks off, and the waitress tells me that the kitchen accidentally made me a "veggie" scramble instead of the chorizo that I had ordered, but that she'd get me some bacon and all was well. I asked what was in the veggie scramble and was told it has mushrooms, which is a hard pass for me. She told me she could have what I had actually ordered made but it would "take a long time". I said O.K. - what else was I going to do? Finally it comes, and my wife is done eating, and the kids are close, so, I asked for it to be "boxed up". The waitress rolled her eyes and set to the task. I'm not a restaurant snob - but I really expected an apology or something to be "comp'd" due to the rough experience, but nope, full bill and no apology. Regrettably, despite Franny's being a local joint and having good food, we won't be back.

A sweet little European Cafe out in the middle of "cowboy" country…read more And the cowboys love it! As does everyone else. Including me and my compadres. Once again, thank you Yelp, for leading us to this super friendly, local, and family owned dining establishment. And may I say, very popular too! Just cute as a button with a little patio in front with the feel of being in the great outdoors with all that wonderful fresh air. Bring your doggie. Inside a couple of large booths and real nice bar-type seating too. Perfect for that solo diner. There is another room with more seating also. So about that European food... owner's, Mom, Dad and two daughters, hail from Croatia and Bosnia and offer modern, authentic European dishes as well as American eats too. And I can state with confidence those breakfast/brunch menu items are awesome. Open 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. , with the best "welcoming" customer service on the planet. I experienced it first hand. This is a delicious and happy Cafè for sure. Do not miss it if you are in the Shingle Springs area. Happy eating!
