Stupid good. I got the brie and apple sandwich, she got the tomato soup and four cheese, both were inventive, and tasty. We got them to go (there's like three tables outside with seating for maybe ten people, max, combined) and then drove an hour and change before eating them...they would've been spectacular had we eaten them right away, if you're buying them to go, order a sando that sounds like it can sit without degrading. Apple and brie held up, hers not as much. Still good but not as good as they probably were when they were wrapped and bagged. read more

This place is in a small town and you order and pickup food at a counter with limited outdoor seating. The sandwiches were a little underwhelming based on the reviews and the price point. I tried the char siu and meat lovers sandwiches which were both on nicely grilled Texas toast. The flavor of the char siu sandwich reminded me of cake noodle and beef broccoli because of the ramen noodles and the overall flavor of the sauce. I didn't get any of the bamboo shoots in the sandwich or maybe they were chopped really small? The char siu was decent, not super tender and not the typical char siu flavor but it wasn't bad. The meat lovers sandwich had a noticeable sweet flavor I'm assuming from the spaghetti sauce but it really lacked depth. It honestly reminded me of canned spaghetti and a sloppy joe. It also seemed like there was no ranch dressing even though it's part of the sandwiches name. I appreciate the creativity and whimsy they've put into their menu. I just don't think the execution and flavor profiles are where they should be. read more

Not sure how this place is even in business. Absolutely horrible ambience, rude & unhygienic workers, 30+ minute wait and we were the first customer of the day?, the menu doesn't make any sense, and to top it all off.... multiple and extremely long HAIRS were embedded into the coleslaw of our "Chicken Satay" sandwich. They immediately remade it but I was so disgusted and turned off by everything else, I took one bite and let my friend eat the rest. Oh yeah! First time here too. I will never come back. You should save yourselves too. read more

Service was delayed and seemed un cared for. Food was mid at best. Bathroom needed attention.

Stopped by this sandwich shop on the way up to Apple Hill. Saw the Yelp reviews and looked promising. It's basically a walk up in a small plaza with some tables. Cute spot. Definitely good for people watching. Got a couple sandwiches: Banh Mi - seeing the list of ingredients I was excited for this one. Never seen a place use lap chung in banh mi. The sandwich itself was kind of underwhelming. First of all, it's not on a French roll. Because of this, the moisture from the slaw soaked the entire bottom bun, making it difficult to eat. Also, the lap chung was slice into small coin sized pieces, rather than lengthwise, which means it all fell out when you tried to eat the sandwich. All the ingredients inside pretty much masked the taste of the sausage so you really didn't get the taste. I didn't get how this was supposed to be a banh mi. Honey Walnut - this was ok. Kind of standard honey walnut. In theory this sounded great but it's a tad rich and needs something to cut through it. There were a ton of other sandwiches and maybe we should've tried others but for the two we got it was just alright. read more

Great food, friendly service, but terribly long wait for the food. For whatever reason they only had two guys cooking on a Saturday afternoon which is confusing as it's Saturday and the place is usually busy on the weekend. We come here often and love the creative sandwiches but the 45 minute wait for a few sandwiches is just too long. If you have tons of time to kill but want friendly service and awesome sandwiches this is the place. It would be nice if they staffed the place better, and that is the only complaint. read more

So glad we stopped by this sandwich shop on our drive to tahoe (I think it's gonna be a new go to when we're in the area)! My husband got the smoked oyster sandwich and I got the Kimchi and Spam sandwich and we were both wowed by the unique combinations and how well the ingredients all worked together. Oyster sandwich: this was like a next level BLT. The crunch and flavor from the bacon was perfect, the oysters were subtle but delicious, and the microgreen mix was refreshing. My husband normally hates pickles but he didn't mind them in this sandwich. Spam and kimchi: wow, the toffee peanut butter sauce was incredible. I could order a jar of that. I loved how well it balanced with the kimchi flavors and the kewpie dressed slaw. My only wish was that we could order halves of sandwiches instead and be able to try more of a variety, because the sandwiches are quite large (and priced accordingly) so I wasn't able to finish mine. But I do hope to come with a bigger group next time and hopefully we can split a few sandos to share. I absolutely want to try the thanksgiving sandwich, honey walnut prawns, and maybe even the 4 cheese or grape and feta ones. We did get the fries this time but can probably skip it next time as the sandwiches steal the show. Also, the two workers were so friendly and helpful while we were deciding our orders. Looking forward to visiting again! read more

Creative sandwich combinations, innovative ways on food recreation! This was such a suprise find, tucked away in Placerville. I got the chicken satay and the spam and kimchi sandwich. The chicken satay sandwich was really good! Perfect stuffing to bread ratio. It was more of a turmeric seasoning rather than a satay one (which emphasizes more on the charcoal grill and peanut sauce). The spam and kimchi was also really good. However there was too much stuffing (to bread ratio). The was a large amount of regular coleslaw, and I would've preferred more kimchi or a kimchi coleslaw of sorts! I would've also like a thicker slice of spam! I would've preferred give this place 3.75/5 stars. read more

Super delicious sandwiches! They are a bit heavy and some were a little too sweet for our tastebuds, but certainly worth trying. It is a small kitchen tucked into a breezeway of sorts that leads to several other shops. Lots of posters out front showing the different sandwiches, which was a little confusing at first, but then we realized it was a super creative way to show what they had to offer! My only complaint was the price. Much more than I expected for just a sandwich, but they put a lot of ingredients on there and a lot of love into making it, you can tell! read more

Such creative sandwiches and always delicious. It's a great stop on the way to and from Tahoe. The staff were helpful in selecting a good to-go order. read more

Super inventive sandwiches! It took us a while to make a selection, and then if they are out of the one you want, you need to pivot and try for another type. It takes a while, so relax. Kimchi and spam was good, as was the other two we tried. Be prepared to get messy, and know that it is worth it. It's a tiny place, but the folks are friendly. This isn't going to be like the sandwiches you get at a diner or chain place. It's definitely for the adventurous! (My sister in law was a little tentative at first.) Life is short. Go for the unexpected. read more

OK, we've been around Placerville for five years and I've never stopped and checked this place out. It's kind of hidden and you can definitely walk past it and miss it.. but we stopped by today cause we were craving sandwiches and let me tell you their selection is definitely different but their sandwiches are 15 out of 10. The owner is there working like a badass and he's got such rad staff !! Go get yourself a sando! Caution, though, if you are not somebody who is open-minded with food or a foodie stay away because these sandwiches are different and they're big and they're just amazing read more

On our way home from camping we wanted to find a great deli and thankfully I had bookmarked this place on Yelp after hearing about it. It's located on the historic Main Street which I've not been to in 40 years! You place your order at a window and boy was it challenging to narrow down what to get. The menu offers incredible and unusual sandwiches. They were a bit too creative for the grandkids yet thankfully they offered a kids burger or grilled cheese. There is a shady patio to eat and your order is delivered to you. I will add that the prices are higher than your normal deli sandwich but they are packed with ingredients and pretty large. As a matter of fact, I had them cut my sandwich in half so I could bring half home, but the sandwich has so many goodies inside it did not fare to well. It was quite messy when I got home. Boy was it ever delicious though! I had the falafel sandwich packed with zesty ingredients. My granddaughters grilled cheese was one of the best (I snuck a bite). My daughter had the apple with Brie and honey which she liked but said it was a bit too sweet. My son-in-law had their version of bahn mi and he loved all the ingredients inside of it. The staff were friendly and patient with our ordering questions. If you're craving a really great and creative sandwich, this is your place! read more

Everyone from the area I meet praises Timmy's Brown Bag and I definitely get the hype now! It is takeout only but there are several tables inside the alley to grab a seat at. Every sandwich is made to order and each ingredient is thoughtfully put together. Service is great! The staff is super friendly and they really emphasized their ability to accommodate. They had run out of Texas toast for my Midwest Meat Lover's this morning, but I left them to their best judgment and my sandwich still came out delicious! The Chicken Satayam was also delicious and included a thick peanut butter that cut into the savory flavor of the chicken which made for such a well rounded sandwich. The thing I'm sure everyone loves about Timmy's is every sandwich sounds crazy, yet the flavors work; they carry unique options that you won't find anywhere else. The portions are huge and well worth every penny. I will say my leftovers might have even tasted better which is always shocking. Of course I'll be back, I have to try everything now! read more

I have been to Tahoe twice this year and this has been my go to stop and will continue to be so. The gastronomic flavors in each of the sandwiches go beyond anything I have ever imagined. My girlfriend and I both try new things every time whoever is behind this idea is a genius. The Thanksgiving leftover sandwich was out of this world and so was their sandwich of pulled pork on a waffle. I recommend this place anytime someone is passing through or going to Placerville. I was recommended this establishment while getting my nails done nearby and it did not disappoint. After camping in the woods and eating beans for five days we were hungry for something different and Timmy's Brown Bag is exactly that! The menu is meant to drive a sane person loopy because of the fonts and I love it. I say this as someone who uses comic sans at work for funsies. But the fonts also kind of lean into all of the fun ingredients at play in these creations. Just the experience of reading the menu had me racking my brain to try and imagine the flavor profile of the offerings and I'd say you'll never guess. You just have to go for it. In my head the falafel was playing it safe. The falafel sandwich was so delicious and the flavors explode together to bring so much tang to something that a lot of places make boring with just hummus. Not here, those heirloom tomatoes are the bomb! Husband got the deviled egg salad sandwich and had the same reaction. The sandwiches have that zip that I am always looking for. No need for my pocket hot sauce here. We cannot wait to come back and step outside the comfort zone to order something more daring. read more

Ambiance: A kiosk-style sandwich shop tucked in a trellis-covered alley alongside a few other small shops. You're (mostly) sheltered from the elements, though it's still open-air so you'll feel whatever the weather's up to that day. Despite the compact space, parking nearby was surprisingly easy -- plenty of spots, plus a public restroom conveniently located near the pay station. (Bonus: parking seems free on the weekend -- 26 Oct 2025) Service: Easily the highlight of this place. 4-5 staff working in sync inside the tiny kiosk, each friendly, responsive, and genuinely accommodating. Even with just a few people ahead of us, the wait for food took a bit longer than expected -- tbf, it was easy to forgive thanks to their energy and attitude. Cashier ran our food out in two trips, with a smile, and was quick to help with extra napkins, water, or anything else we needed. Bring a friend to chat with while you wait -- it's part of the charm. Flavors: Unorthodox but hella good. I'm from San Jose -- a Vietnam town native -- so ofc I'm trying their version of a "Banh Mi." What arrived wasn't traditional by any stretch, but a creative twist: Lap Suong (Chinese sweet sausage) with pickled veggies (carrots, daikon slaw, peppers), all spilling out of a soft brioche* bun. Not a banh mi in the classic sense, but idk...bold? Flavor in spades. Worth the try. *Banh mi on brioche!? Personally, I think the brioche was a smart textural change, even if a bit overloading sweet balance of the sandwich. Traditional banh mi baguettes can shred the roof of my mouth, so honestly, this was a welcome alternative. Would *love* if they could find an equally bouncy, maybe slightly firmer, savory bread alternative. Would I send friends this place's way? Hail yea read more

If you want classic sandwiches don't go here. The Banhmi was horrible. Was filled with sour veggies and a few burnt sausage scraps. The walnut prawn sandwich was dry and not tasty at all. Also, with it being overpriced and having to wait extremely long, this place isn't worth it. read more

If you are looking for a sandwich spot that will blow your mind, head to Timmy's in Placerville. It is worth a day trip to this lovely town or a must stop on your way up the mountain. While being a small sandwich shop, they produce art. I've been to this place 4 times and tried a new sandwich every time, they never disappoint. Just to test the bounds of Timmy's Brown Bag, this last time I tried their spam sandwich, to which I don't even like spam; per usual it made me wonder if their employees moonlight as NASA engineers. I don't have any logical explanation as to how they concoct these sandwiches but they nail it every time. You don't go to Timmy's Brown Bag for incredible ambiance (although eating right next to Main Street isn't so bad) or for a run-of-the-mill sandwich, you go to Timmy's Brown Bag because the quality of sandwich takes your taste buds through a intergalactic, moon landing-esque experience. Great service from this hole-in-the-wall spot. The sandwiches are creative and tasty.

Best sandwich shop! I live about an hour away and still visit about once a month. This place is amazing. It's a little hard to find if you don't use GPS. If you feel like you're lost, you're probably headed in the right direction. Timmy's is take-out only, but they do have a few outside tables on their patio. No public restrooms, but there are public restrooms in the adjacent public parking lot. I stumbled upon this place several months ago and every sandwich seemed a little odd. Almost every sandwich on the menu has you questioning "Why?!". As in- "why would you put that ingredient with the others" or "why would you put that on a sandwich?" Let me tell you, it's for good reason. The place is owned by a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef and he puts his expertise into every sandwich. If you look at the ingredients and think you wouldn't like something, trust me... just order it and be prepared for an explosion of flavor in your mouth! I usually get the SPAM/Kimchi sandwich or the Banh Mi. The Banh Mi is a little more traditional than a lot of the other menu items and is very good (even though I really prefer a traditional Banh Mi on a French roll). The SPAM/Kimchi is one of those sandwiches where the Le Cordon Bleu knowledge comes out! It comes on grilled brioche and is PACKED with ingredients. It has: SPAM, kimchi, grilled pineapple, chunky chili sauce peanut butter, pad Thai slaw, kewpie mayo, and Szechuan pepper peanuts. Probably weighs a pound. Even if you don't like kimchi (or SPAM), you should try it. I don't like kimchi and still get this sandwich most of the time. The peanuts on it give it a nice crunch that you wouldn't really expect. So many flavors in every bite that just hit you in all the right ways. I'd like to try all the sandwiches eventually, but sometimes it's hard to get out of my comfort zone when I know the ones I've ordered were amazing. I just need to remember that they're ALL probably amazing. Great place to stop for lunch! Try it if you haven't already! read more

I had Thanksgiving sandwich. It was really good. They're very friendly hook me up with free water cause I didn't have enough money . I usually rate places on their food not other factors, like the fact that I was looking for kind of a less expensive place to grab a sandwich. When you map it, it says it's three dollar signs usually places with that are less expensive. This place was kind of pricey $15 per sandwich. So if you're coming here just know you're gonna pay a little bit of money . Id say its worth it . Just wish the price rating was more transparent but don't wanna hurt the buisness with low rating because flavor was for sure there. read more

Apple Brie sandwich was a winner! Almost like lunch and dessert in one sandwich. Friendly service. Glad we stopped by.

Small place with unique flavor combinations. Was on the way home from a wknd in the Buttes, so made a point of stopping by to try it out. I wish they were closer so I could continue on in trying the menu. But overall, the combinations are unique enough to think how do they do that. Good bread choices are the answer. Nice variety of savory and even some sweet. Good grilling has to be key to these creations, because you can't flip too early and have the ingredients fall out (make sure you bite carefully). They have outdoor place to eat if you're not taking away. Street parking might be challenging in this quaint historic part of Placerville's downtown. But there is a Public lot within walking distance along with public restroom building. I had the Brie & Pear sandwich which was to my expectation. Generous sized to where you may save half and eat later. Friendly service at order time, they bring it out to you in yep, a brown bag. Check out the photo for the unique things that become a sandwich and you'll have a hard time deciding. read more

They take a little long to make the sandwiches, but the wait is definitely worth it! Each sandwich was about $15, but was HEFTY. Definitely a big boi! My partner and I ordered 1 Spam and Kimchi and 1 Honey Walnut Prawns, but were each only able to finish half a sandwich each. Both sandwiches were delicious, but we both agreed that the spam and kimchi one was better! I would say that's some pretty high praise considering my partner is Korean and she was VERY skeptical about the sandwich combination at first.
