Unhygienic! Bathrooms were disgusting and toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. No napkins in the napkin holders and all the trash cans were full. To top it all off, I got the clam chowder bread bowl on October 21st and got incredibly sick and had to go to the ER

Wow what an experience! Best sourdough sandwiches I've had. The Owner mentioned this sourdough imports from San Francisco so you know you're getting the real deal. Soft bread packed with delicious flavor. We went with the French Dip & it was incredible. Soft marinated beef with delicious Au Jus for dipping. Yum!!! 2nd sandwich we ordered wasn't on the menu but the owner was happy to make a substitution! Pesto Chicken w/ Dijon mustard and all the veggie fixings. So good. We got one of their in house baked chocolate chip cookies... and wow... treat yourself. Also there are GLUTEN FREE WRAPS available for those with allergies or preferences. A little something for everyone. The staff were SO welcoming and friendly. Particularly the new owner Nav & manager Tyler. Atmosphere in the restaurant was clean & perfect setting for historic Placerville. They have a TV in there as well for any game days you're looking to watch with friends. I'm sure they'd be happy to put on your game. Excellent sandwiches. Go check them out & meet the new management!

This shops under new management. I had an amazing experience at Sourdough on Main Street! The sandwiches are hands down some of the best I've ever had. The bread was fresh, the fillings were generous, and the flavors were spot on. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I'll definitely be back soon! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sandwich!

9/30/2022: Purchasing smoked brisket for dinner.

9/30/2022: The smokey brisket was too dry, i.e., lacked flavor, presentation was utterly unappealing, and looking directly at the sandwich~it just had four strips appearing like hard beef jerky which was egregiously disappointing verses the pastrami sandwich I ordered at the Missouri Flat Sourdough location. In addition, I initially requested ordering clam chowder; however, the location ran out of the soup. Aside . . . Tables were shoved into the left side of the store via the front door entrance; the store appeared depressing and not clean. Meh~I won't eat here.

Found this place on a whim after Apple Hill and this place is delicious! Parking is a bit difficult since it's in a busy part of Placerville. There is a variety of choices to satisfy any craving! You can choose your sub size, 4, 6 or 8 inches and each sandwich is split in half. The sandwiches are absolutely stuffed with meats and cheeses! Definitely worth the money! We ordered the smoked brisket, which I highly recommend, and the French dip which is just as tasty! I need to find a place closer now because the smoked brisket was amazing.

Yay! Our new favorite lunch place on Main Street!…read more We just stopped by last weekend, we've been wanting to try this place out but it just hadn't happened.... Last Monday we decided to have lunch there, one of our regular places is closed Mondays and this place was open so we checked it out...and we're SO SO glad we did! Atmosphere was nice and server was very friendly from the moment we walked in. First thing I noticed; $5 mimosas!! I asked if they did anything other than orange juice and yes, they had several other options so I had the cranberry version. Delicious! I went with their mac and cheese, my partner got the basic hamburger. Mac and Cheese -- definitely very bacon forward, much more than I prefer. That being said, I still liked it, it also had sour cream and green onion on top. Bacon lovers will LOOOVE this version, there is LOTS of it and every bite you can taste it. Normally I prefer my mac & cheese with no bacon or just a bit here and there, I prefer to taste more of the cheeses.....again, it still tasted good, its a good serving and I ate half and had enough to save for the next day at work. Creamy and well made, again I just prefer to taste more cheese than bacon. I wouldn't order this again but like I said, a bacon lover will LOVE this version. Now, my partner's burger was Incredible. We are PICKY with our burgers, and we both thought this one was fantastic. Big, and great ratio to the bun. He ordered it medium and asked for "a little char" and they made it perfectly. I took a bite and yeah, I'd order that for sure. The fries were great, too. Overall we were super happy with our lunch, I thought it was priced fairly as well. We will definitely be back!!

I'll give 2* because the food (when it came) was great…read more We've been to Franny's a couple times before and had O.K. service and good food. The pitfalls of the restaurant seem to be entirely the service. Most recently we went to Franny's on Mother's Day. We had reservations and walked in, on time. We were initially sat in a nice booth in the front of the restaurant. It was my wife and I plus our 2 kids, the table size seemed appropriate. After being sat, we sat without talking to a server for 10+ minutes, not even getting waters. Eventually, when someone did come, it was a waitress/hostess telling us that there had been a mix up, and we needed to move. We weren't excited on the idea, as we were happy where we were, but we moved to the back of the restaurant. This time we sat for 15 minutes without being acknowledged by any wait staff. At this point it is 9:25 and we've been seated for 25 minutes without even water. Finally a waitress comes, and takes our drink order, and our food order as we'd definitely had ample time to look over the menu. About 9:50 the food arrives. My wife and kids' food comes and is great. My food comes and looks off, and the waitress tells me that the kitchen accidentally made me a "veggie" scramble instead of the chorizo that I had ordered, but that she'd get me some bacon and all was well. I asked what was in the veggie scramble and was told it has mushrooms, which is a hard pass for me. She told me she could have what I had actually ordered made but it would "take a long time". I said O.K. - what else was I going to do? Finally it comes, and my wife is done eating, and the kids are close, so, I asked for it to be "boxed up". The waitress rolled her eyes and set to the task. I'm not a restaurant snob - but I really expected an apology or something to be "comp'd" due to the rough experience, but nope, full bill and no apology. Regrettably, despite Franny's being a local joint and having good food, we won't be back.

Sorry, there's a bite from my 'sammach, but it highlights the delicious ingredients tucked inside so well. The 6-inch was the perfect size and filled this guy up really well. The bread was good and the filling was in a good proportion, so the sandwich gets a solid 5-Stars! The only downside was the wait and the cost. Ya' know, a 6-inch sandwich, pickle, drink and tiny bag O' chips for $13.14 seems a few bucks too high, but maybe I'm old, cranky and still love my beautiful wife's sandwiches better and, at $2.19 an inch... I mean, SOME things are worth more per inch (according to my wife)... but a sandwich?? I digress... But, will we be back? Yes, I believe we will and that it was good enough for seconds another time.

Tried the loaded baked potato, chicken tortilla, clam chowder, and a grilled cheese sandwich. The soups were great - no complaints. My least favorite was the clam chowder, it was a bit peppery for my liking but still good. They're not the best I've ever had, but super satisfying and I'll definitely be back to try more! The grilled cheese was the surprise winner of it all. Cheddar on sourdough - simple but amongst the best I've ever had. It didn't need all the extra fancy stuff, I liked it simple. Nice strong cheddar flavor on a yummy bread :). Prices were reasonable considering inflation . $5.75 I think for a cup, $10.50 for a bowl and $13.50 for a bread bowl. I should've asked the price of the flight because I definitely want to try that. The bread bowl filled me up for lunch, but idk that the soup alone would have. Location is inside Glazed and Confused donuts, to the left of CVS. It's a bit hidden - a true hidden gem. Service was good. Order at the counter. We got the food to-go, but there are about four 4-person tables inside to eat at. They also have an arcade type game and small kids area with some random play stuff and books.

Order a full meal or just a beverage, and hunker down for the day if you wish. They even have free WIFi. The menu has soups, salads, sandwiches (hot and cold), bagels, cookies, pastries, and coffee drinkszThis location prefers customers to order from the kiosk. There is usually no staff at the register to take orders. But at times, I do ask the staff to take my order because the in house discounts aren't listed on the kiosk options. The last time I dined here, they had a posted offer of a free pastry with a purchase of a combo meal. The staff that helped me order at the register was unfamiliar with the register functions. I suppose that happens when cashiering is no longer a major job task. But she didn't know which pastries were included in the offer or how to enter the offer. Eventually she triumphed. I bemoaned Panera's retirement of their Napa almond chicken salad sandwich, turkey chili, and steak and white cheddar sandwich from their menu. But they still have the Greek salad; it's fantastic. The Harvest Medley Chicken salad is a new favorite of mine. Fresh tasting and looking ingredients having the crunch factor. Plus I'm luvin their iced tea options. The papaya iced tea, pomegranate hibiscus, regular iced tea, and agave lemonade are delicious and better yet... no HFCS. Great option versus the HFCS fountain drinks. Both the sodas and teas are self serve, free refills for dine in folks. Panera's is in the Palladio shopping center. To get to the shop is bit unconventional. There is a multi-story parking garage right next to the Panera's. That's the closest parking option. They have two entries into the shop. The broth was deeply savory and comforting, layered with flavor without being overly salty, and that rib took things to another level. Tender, meaty, and perfectly braised, it made each bite feel extra indulgent. My boyfriend went with the bánh mì pork sandwich, and we added fried egg rolls for the table. The bánh mì had that perfect balance of crispy baguette, juicy pork, and fresh pickled veggies, while the egg rolls came out hot, crunchy, and packed with flavor.
