    Irishman Reuben

Very good sandwiches with plenty of outdoor seating on Main Street. We split the Reuben with extra meat and it was filling. The counter area where you order is small with just a few bar seats but the patio is spacious.

Fantastic! What a way to start our thrifting day! Really great sandwiches and fantastic beer! We really enjoyed the patio out front. Lots of seating and friendly, helpful staff! Highly recommended! We'll be back!

Great sandwich's and great service. I got the little Philly sandwich with au jus and loved it! 5 other in my group got other sandwiches and everyone was very happy. Lots of outdoor seating. I appreciated they had unsweetened iced tea. And gave me a big cup with ice.

Sitting nicely while the servers told him how pretty he was.

We came through last month after taking our pup to the snow. Great spot to stop and grab a sandwich! Their patio is dog friendly and the staff were so sweet to our little guy. He is 10 months old and it was his first visit to a restaurant. He did great and loved all the pets from other patrons.

Bacon Mac N Cheese~ Ok now this is delicious! A nice and creamy mac n cheese, with crispy flavorful Boar's Head bacon!

Hubby and I were looking for a great lunch spot and spotted this small local business on Main Street. To drink we both ordered a Barsotti Freshly Pressed Apple Cider. I'm in love with this delicious premium cider and there's a reason why it's so addicting! It's made local in Northern CA with 3 different apple varieties of 100% juice and no added sugars or preservatives! For lunch we split the Big Bird, Grilled Massive Double Meat. The Boar's Head chicken is nice and tender and not to mention flavorful! The sourdough roll as well, with a nice avocado, cheese-pull worthy havarti and nice spice to the chipotle as well! For our side we both ordered the Bacon Mac N Cheese. Ok now this is delicious! A nice and creamy mac n cheese, with crispy flavorful Boar's Head bacon! I would highly recommend this large shareable side! I would highly recommend this 5 star worthy sandwich shop, we sat outside on a nice day and there was plenty of seating available! The sweet staff member working was helpful and we're definitely looking forward to returning with big appetites! SYOY!

    The Angry Irishman... Delicious!

One of the best sandwiches I have had in Old Hangtown (Placerville)! I had the Angry Irishman. It was delicious. It's a grilled sandwich with Corned Beef, Pastrami, Cream Cheese, Havarti, Caramelized Onions, Jalapeños, and Hot Pepper Spread all on beautifully grilled Sourdough. Service was friendly. Inside seating is sparse. Just a few seats at the bar, and a table.

Half of the Rueben sandwich! I ate the other half before the photo.

I understand he was upset probably because we took a table away from his potential tips, but to treat us the way he did is inexcusable. I asked if him if the food hadn't been made if we could cancel our order. He left and appeared to speak to the kitchen staff. He came back and cleared the table next to us and did not communicate anything to us. I asked, is that a yes or no? Without looking at us he said hold on. He finished clearing the table and walked away. He came back 10 minutes later and without saying a word he placed the bill on our table and left. Luckily we had the cash to cover it and a tip. As we walked away he rushed over, likely to make sure we weren't skipping out since he had been so rude. Will we go back? Uh no. This could have been handled much differently leaving us wanting to try them again.

They do not, however they do something called a "fast pass" which basically means they put your name down and if you arrive while there's a wait, you get seated before anyone else who is waiting and does not have a fast pass. Kind of a different approach. I was glad that when we arrived, there wasn't anyone else waiting and there were tables available. Service was very attentive and friendly. He took our drink orders and allowed us some time to decide what to eat. Hubs and I both debated between multiple options- a lot sounded so good- but we both decided on the filet mignon. On the menu, it indicated that the dish comes with a béarnaise sauce; my husband really doesn't care for tarragon so he requested a substitution of their mushroom rosemary sauce instead (which is offered with their ribeye), and they happily obliged. The meal also included Yukon mashed potatoes and veggies. Our food was delivered soon after and I was pleasantly surprised that not only were our steaks still very warm but that they were cooked a perfect medium rare. The quality of the steaks was great, they were nice and thick. The veggies were, for the most part, overdone and a bit soggy, but that's not something that bothers me too much. The potatoes had good flavor but could have used much more milk/cream as they were pretty dry and firm. The experience was a good one and I would definitely return if we lived closer. I liked that their menu had a lot to offer- this is a good place for a family who has various tastes. Shout out to our server, Carver, who was great and provided very good service.

We decided to sit on the patio since it was nice outside - they also offer a ton of seating inside and I also spotted a huge bar area. They are also dog friendly! We ordered the Kids Cheese Flatbread, Reuben Sandwich with Garlic Fries and the BOJ Burger. My daughter devoured her Flatbread and my husband really liked his Reuben Sandwich - I liked all of the toppings that came on my BOJ Burger, but the hamburger patty itself was not seasoned and it weirdly made the whole burger lack in flavor even though there was bacon, onion jam and gouda on it. Our friends also enjoyed their food as well! They offer a large beer menu and a fun cocktail list - I almost ordered one, but decided not to. I will have to next time! Overall, service was friendly and attentive - even when it started getting really busy. I was hesitate about visiting based off of the reviews, but we we all left full and satisifed.
