I'm pretty certain that this is the best consignment store in Texas, if not the US. So, so, many good items here, and a major shoutout to these local legends for keeping shopping safe, clean, and enjoyable. This is the only retail store I've felt safe enough to visit in the last twelve months; I dropped in during the sale this weekend and witnessed a shopper being promptly reminded to keep her mask on in between fittings by the owners (what legends- I should have applauded). I've loved every item I've bought here, from my wedding dress to the sweater I'm writing this in to my go-to cowboy boots subtle enough to wear outside of Texas- and I still regret that silk maxi-dress I passed on in, like, 2013 when Sea of Shoes first tipped me off to this place. To pre-empt any negatives, because any lady calling out poor mask compliance deserves some internet points if not sainthood in my book- could you just stay home and browse The Real Real from your couch? Yeah, I guess, if you're prepared to scroll and scroll and scroll and then weeks later receive an item that doesn't fit. Are the owners possibly cooler than you? Yeah, probably, but also, they let me browse in peace and I mean, aren't you here to shop not chat? I've been a huge fan of feathers boutique for years and Moss in now on my list of favorite places to shop in Austin. I've purchased quite a few things from Moss as well as consigned clothes and always had a good experience. I got an amazing Cynthia Vincent purse there that I use every day and get compliments on constantly. Every time I wear the Marni pumps that I got from Moss I get asked where my shoes are from. Other items that I have purchased their include a gorgeous silver gray Phillip Lim dress and a rocking Alexander Wang purse in muted green, too cool! Their inventory constantly changes so it's always exciting to stop in and and see what's new. They have clothes and shoes that range from the absolute stunning and fabulous to special everyday pieces to beautiful suits and jackets that would be perfect for work. If you are looking for something for a special occasion then I definitely recommend stopping in to check out the ever changing selection of beautiful dresses. I've consigned many things there and usually just turn the money over into buying something new from Moss which in my opinion is awesome! Their policies have always been clear and if they don't take something, no big deal. Part of the reason that I love the store is that they are choosy in what they consign so you don't have to sift through crap. This is the place to go if you are looking for a killer designer dress for a formal or informal occasion that looks NEW! The girls were so helpful, I told them what I was looking for and they grabbed a few dresses, ONE worked perfectly! Lowers the likelihood of showing up wearing the same thing as another girl. I went to Moss this past weekend with my sisters. I love this place. I read some reviews where the staff had been negative. But I think Moss has read them to and are changing for the better. We were greeted with smiles when we walked in and received wonderful customer service while we were there. I love they way they mark the price tags showing the dates when the price will drop. I also had a bad experience here. The person working that day informed me they they do not take the brands I had to offer. She was extremely condescending... even though I've been in this store several times, bought there, and know for a fact they sell the designer brands I brought in. I walked in on a Thursday night around 6:45pm, not realizing they closed at 7:00pm. I promised I would look fast and to my surprise the staff told me to feel free to look around and to take the time I needed. They were very friendly. One of my all time favorite stores! Love that you can walk out the door with a designer item that looks brand new at a quarter of the original price. In fact, some pieces ARE brand new, still with tags! So happy they added men's so I can shop for my guy now. read more

Dropped by this store for the first time and they had a nice selection in a variety of sizes and designers. I will say that their salesmanship is not as nice as their used clothes. Hit and miss on which of the girls would even talk to us. On this visit I did not buy anything but on a previous visit I bought two items. I get a lot of compliments on both of the dresses I bought. I will definitely go to the store whenever I am in Austin. I shop here whenever I venture down to South Austin. In fact, I usually can't drive by it without stopping in. Some of the gems I've found here include a Current/Elliott denim jacket, Vince tops, a Rebecca Taylor dress and an Alexander McQueen scarf. I didn't actually buy the scarf but I still regret it, so it's worth mentioning. Of course, they have beautiful Chanel items that I always drool over. I'm sure I will make the leap one day and actually make a Chanel purchase. If I do, it will be at Moss. Another great local store. Sometimes the girls helping out can be hit or miss for me, but overall usually a good experience. read more

I stopped in on a whim and had a great experience. I am usually more of a thrift store shopper (the dress I wore in cost $0.40 at a church rummage sale) but if you enjoy higher end items this seems like a great place. The staff was very helpful and attentive, offering to start a fitting room for me even though I was just holding one item. The store is organized well and every item I looked at was in like new condition. I don't ever buy brand name items of that tier, but the prices seemed very affordable compared to original retail. I love this place and come in regularly since I'm running a life experiment this year where I buy no new clothes and it's located pretty much exactly between home and work. I read about fashion waste and it grossed me out so between here, Uptown Cheapskate and Buffalo Exchange it's been shockingly easy to consign, trade and recycle my old clothes into new ones through the course of this year. All of my newest favorite fashion finds that I'm complimented on most come from here. Last week a coworker told me she liked my skirt so I told her that I bought it at Moss and then realized the only part of my outfit that I didn't buy there was the shoes. I also think the staff is super nice and always gives honest (but kind!) feedback when you try things on. The only negative I can think of whatsoever is that I had to stop following their Instagram account because it made me want to buy more frequently. read more

My first time in- and my last. Maybe I have too many expectations, who knows. The store has great brands, I'll give them that. That's about where the compliments end. The store is unorganized. It's arranged by color, not size. That makes it more time consuming to go through everything. That is annoying and not efficient. It's a high end consignment store- every one I have been in to in NYC, Paris and Chicago are all organized by size. Like every clothing store on Earth. Then there was the wretched smell of freshly nuked food wafting through the place and about 5 different glasses of of water, tea and other beverages all over the front desk area- messy. No, you aren't Neiman's, by a long shot- but if you are attempting to attract a clientele for buying and selling that is- you might want to take a look at these things. I vote with my dollars and choose carefully where I spend my money. Based on several factors I unfortunately cannot and will not support Moss. read more

I go to this store probably every 6-8 weeks. I love it that much. Doesn't hurt that I've scored an Alexander MCQ dress for $130, and a new, with tags, Dolce and Gabbana for $150. The D&G was almost a $2000 dress!! Following them on Instagram is a must because that is where they announce their sales. Since this is a consignment shop there are rarely multiples of any 1 item. All of their clothing, shoes, and accessories are in great condition (or new). The staff is always so incredibly helpful and sweet. Some items can still be pricey, because this is a luxury consignment shop after all. But, the prices drop on a near monthly basis so you can go back and see if that item is still available. The drop in price date is listed on the tag. I have Moss to thank for my luxury closet, at a serious fraction of the price! If you are looking for a little bit of luxury without busting your bank account, this place is a MUST!! read more

This store has some decent finds. Great labels and the owners clearly have a good eye. But I will never be giving them any of my money because quite simply, every time I've been in there, the staff is just plain snobby. I don't know how else to describe the vibe that you get when you walk in but of the 4 times I've been in, all staff is very aloof and barely acknowleges your presence. In a town full of more and more high end stores, I'd much rather go somewhere where I feel valued as a customer and where staff actually wants to help their customers. read more

I was in town for the weekend and I stumbled upon this fabulous shop when looking for high end Consignment shops. And --- I have never been in a better or more beautiful Consignment shop anywhere. I am from Los Angeles, and this is far superior to any I have been to out there. It is a beautiful boutique - with great design and floor plan and the merchandise is fantastic and practically all new. It was a complete treat shopping in there....only to be added to by the two delightful and extremely helpful sales associates --- Jessica and Katie. I cannot say enough about them and their taste and respect and friendliness, but neither pushy in any way. Very dear girls with great taste. I took their card and look forward to buying from Moss from afar--- until I can come back and shop again in person. Moss Designer Consignment does deliver what it promises - very high end resale for high end brands. They have a mark down system that I have enjoyed in other shops where after a certain date, the price drops etc. However, it should be made known that this shop caters to the thinner set of ladies out there. I also did not see much in the way of "formal wear" or cocktail items. read more

I went into Moss today for the first time, and plan on going in weekly from now on. There's something here for every kind of event, and the owners have made an effort to get lots of different sizes (all too often high-end consignments are size 2s). The lady I talked to was very helpful and made some great suggestions. The prices are low enough that Moss is better than buying new for everyday wear, and for special occasions I'm more likely to buy a daring piece since I won't have to spend so much on it. Moss is a pretty awesome boutique. I just went in today for the first time in over a year and was happy to see they expanded to have more space and variety. Although almost everything is more expensive than I can afford there are a few fun pieces under $100. If I were looking for something completely unique and stylish and in excellent shape I would come here. Also the sales girls were friendly and helpful which is refreshing since most stores with this price point are obnoxiously snooty. Well done Moss! read more
