WARNING: Do not leave your belongings with this Plato's Closet location. I would strongly caution anyone against selling to -- much less shopping at -- this Plato's Closet. After this experience, I will NEVER shop at or sell to this store again, and I recommend anyone considering doing business here follow suit. On May 11, I dropped off one bag of clothing to sell at the Brodie Lane store. I received a receipt and was told they would text me when they finished reviewing my items. They texted me later that day saying they were done, so I returned that same afternoon to complete the process and pick up anything they did not buy. When I got there, the employees at the counter acted confused for several minutes before one casually said something along the lines of, "Oh, you're the girl whose bag went missing." That was how I found out Plato's Closet had lost my entire bag of clothing. Not one item. Not a receipt mix-up. An entire bag of my personal belongings. The bag included items from brands like Lululemon and REVOLVE. It 1000% did not consist of the low-quality, cheap items this store notoriously carries, like SHEIN and similar throwaway brands. I do not have an exact inventory of every item in the bag, and neither do they -- which means there is now no way to know the full retail value, resale value, or actual contents of the bag they lost. Looking back, I gave this store far more trust than it deserved. I assumed they had competent staff, organization, and safeguards to track customer belongings for a few hours. This location is usually frustrating at best: dismissive employees, overcrowded racks, piles of merchandise everywhere, and a store you can barely move through or shop. Even with all of that, I never imagined an entire bag of my belongings could disappear within hours. I was told the owner was aware, would review camera footage, and would call me before the end of the day. She did not call. I called the next day and was again told she would call me. She still did not call. I finally received a call from the owner more than a week later, on May 19, only to be told they could not find my bag and the footage did not provide answers. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner was defensive and dismissive. She focused on irrelevant excuses instead of the actual problem: Plato's Closet accepted my property, lost it, failed to return it, and had no explanation for where it went. I was willing to consider store credit only because the bag disappeared while in their possession. If they had accepted the full bag for resale, they likely would have offered me a reasonable amount. Since there is now no way to know whether the items were given away, misplaced, taken, thrown out, or otherwise lost, it should be treated as though they accepted the full bag. The items are gone either way, and I should not be left absorbing the loss because they failed to track my property. The only thing the owner vaguely mentioned on her own was maybe giving me a "discount to shop in the store," without ever giving an amount. After I explained what I believed would be fair, she reluctantly threw out what was basically a pennies-on-the-dollar store credit, which felt insulting considering they lost my property, waited over a week to call me, and still had no explanation. To make it worse, she said, "Well, we recommend you stay in the store while you are selling items," which is absurd. If you recommend customers stay in the store, why allow drop-offs? If you offer a drop-off service, you are responsible for having enough basic control over your operation to know where people's property is while it is in your store. My bag was only there for a handful of hours. I followed their system exactly: dropped off my items, got a receipt, waited for their text, and came back the same day. They are the ones who "lost" my belongings. If Plato's Closet cannot safely manage customer drop-offs, they should not offer drop-offs. Period. Other resale stores require customers to wait or complete the buying process in person for this exact reason. For all I know, they could have given my bag to another customer, thrown it away, misplaced it, or someone could have taken the items for themselves. I hate even speculating, but when a business loses customer property and cannot -- or will not -- explain where it went, every possibility is on the table. This was not just bad customer service. It was careless, shady, and unacceptable. I have bought from and sold to this location for years, but I will never give this store my business again. I would not trust them with my belongings, and I strongly recommend no one else does either. Do not shop here. Do not sell here. Do not leave your belongings here. This location cannot be trusted to protect customer property, take accountability, or handle a basic issue with professionalism. read more

What in the hoarding situation is going on in here?! Have never been to a platos location like this before. The workers are straight up mean! I called ahead to make sure they were buying because last time I tried to sell stuff, they told me they were not buying. Thought that was odd! So I called ahead and was told there were only 3 people ahead of me if I came in now. I dropped off my bags and waited in the store. They really pressure you to stay otherwise you have to pick them up when they close. I waited 45 mins in store surrounded by the clutter. I didnt even browse because it is so overwhelming. They did buy some of my items so I do recommend them for selling if you have at least an hour to wait. Otherwise I do not recommend. They make you tag your own bags and there is merchandise all over the floor. Definitely a safety hazard. Crazy store especially for a chain. read more

You can barely walk down an isle and let alone find anything at a good deal. 90% of the items are almost retail price but are definitely worn TF out and even have holes like who is running this place. Yikes. They should rename this location Hoarders closet cause it's so packed full of overstock you can barely walk around. I don't know why it's so mismanaged but they also have developed some wild rules for selling at this location and really pressure you into staying at the store. But they take 30 minutes per buy so if you have more than one person ahead of you, they expect you to stay in this claustrophobic box for like 3 hours? Then if you leave they say if you don't pick up 3 hours before they close they'll donate your items. Just a waste of time at this location folks. Go to uptown or buffalo up the street, it's a much better experience read more

Rudest staff ever. I sold them a parke sweatshirt and they gave me $7.50 for it. I asked for it back and they made me pay $27 to get MY clothes back. They were also extremely rude and raise their voice at another guest who was trying to help me out. 0/10. Do not sell to them. They are super cheap and not worth it. They also made me wait in store for 30 mins while they looked through my clothes and gave me half of them back. (Everything was clean and lightly worn) Don't shop or sell here. Worst experience I had today. I've been shopping in the store for years when I moved to Round Rock. I started shopping at the Plato's closet in Round Rock, which I love I came in because they were holding a bag for me. I called ahead and ask them if they could hold the purse they told me yes of course we'll hold it. Then I call again to double check and make sure and if not, I could pay over the phone as soon as I walk into the store I was greeted by this lady. I asked her hi. I called to hold a purse and I came to pick it up she answers back right away and says we don't hold items. I looked at her and told her ma'am I just called I talked to people on the phone and they told me that they were holding a purse for me. I also show her the picture of the purse and show her the store. She said well we don't hold items in this store super rude I told her ma'am I understand that but I talk to someone on the phone so obviously someone hold it for me then another worker stepped in and she was like yes we are holding the purse for you. Let me look for it. She automatically started looking for it and called another person that was on the phone with me. The other worker came in and grabbed the purse and show me the purse while the other lady was making faces and just looking at me open now the other two ladies were super nice and I ended up leaving the purse. It was $200 and I was not gonna give $200 to someone as rude as her. It was not the other ladies fall ended up buying a Lululemon wallet when the lady was checking me out with the Lululemon wallet she said don't give her any of her discounts I just ignore her still pay for the wallet and walked away and thank the other two ladies because the other two ladies were super nice to me. Great for young and old, men and women, and especially teenagers this is a great place to walk in with old stuff and out with new stuff. Lots of shoes, purses, casual, and athleisure wear. Not as many business clothes. Ages 12 and up I'd say. One person's trash is now your treasure! read more
