Morton's is a classy and elevated steakhouse experience. The staff made it easy to order what I wanted and were very friendly and helpful. I like the set up and decor, the only difficulty, which is minor, is how to enter the place! The staircase externally around the corner does not lead into the restaurant- you have to use the Morton's front entrance. I ordered the meatballs, potatoes au gratin and the famous chocolate cake. I was not disappointed! The meatballs were generously portioned and tender, with a sauce that was perfectly complementary. The potatoes were creamy and sliced thinly, with a soft texture. This restaurant has plenty of parking in the plaza as well as valet available. Upon arrival I was greeted outside and by the parking attendant. The restaurant is located on the second floor which stairs and the elevator are options. When I arrived the hostess was sweet I told her it was my birthday she told me happy birthday and inquired if I wanted to dine in. Since it was my first time coming to Morton's I decided to start at the bar. They have happy hour (power hour) Sun-Fri from open to 630p. Since it is restaurant month I was unsure if I wanted to eat off the $55 three course or nibble off happy hour. I ordered off the power hour menu which was the steak tacos, chicken sliders, and to Blackberry margaritas. The bartender never mentioned his name so I inquired and his name was Mark. He suggested I order the tacos which I enjoyed. I mentioned it was my birthday three times and inquired if the restaurant offered a dessert. His response was "I'm your dessert" which I laughed it off put was very uncomfortable. I didn't want to make a big deal about it as I wanted to return to this establishment in the future for dinner. It was very disappointing that he didn't offer or suggest a dessert or even provide a policy on what they do for birthdays. I'm not sure if I was treated this way because I only ordered off the happy hour menu so he felt that I wasn't going to tip. In addition, it was disappointing to hear another staff member make comments about patrons at the bars. I heard the other worker say " I just ignore people when they ask for stuff " and "they're just taking up space at the bar". Not sure if that was for me or the other patrons at the end of the bar. Regardless, certain comments should be kept to yourself. Overall, I'm not sure if I'd return as I'm not sure how people are commented on at the bar. We came here to have a pre-Fathers day celebration. For the price and reputation of the place, I had high expectations and while everything was good, I wasn't impressed. The complimentary onion bread was hot and tasty. I ordered from their Father's Day special menu. My 16oz prime ribeye with garlic butter was good, but not melt in your mouth and eyes pop out good. I liked that it came with onion rings which were also good. My dessert was the chocolate cake which was not bad. I was quite curious about it since the name includes the word "legendary" but sadly, some legends should...anyways, it just okay. Estela was our server and she was awesome. I wish I could give this 3 1/2 stars, as my experience wasn't bad, but I don't think it deserves a full four stars. Morton's is what it is, an older steakhouse that's been around for years. I didn't even realize there was one directly across from the mall, as many times as I've been to the mall. I went here specifically for the Bubbles & Bites. I'm sure they've gotten plenty of younger customers because of that, because as soon as I sat at the bar, the bartender asked me if I wanted a menu. I said no, and he said, "Do you want the Bubbles & Bites?" very, very dryly. He seemed like he didn't want to be there. There was another bartender who was much more pleasant and friendly. The hostess was friendly. The person who brought the food was also friendly. The burger lacked a little flavor. I could've added some salt and pepper to it. Personally, I like the burger better at McCormick or Ruth's Chris, but I really wanted to get an adult happy meal with a glass of Veuve Clicquot. The marketing team understood the assignment. I've seen it on social media. The boxes have been sold out a couple of times, so I did call earlier in the day to check and make sure they had it. Tried the Bubbles & Bites and overall, it was a good experience and worth the price. The promotion runs through the month of January and mentioned that you had to be seated at the bar to participate, but I noticed guests throughout the restaurant enjoying the same special at regular tables. The truffle fries were amazing. I had the smash burgers, which were just okay. Although you can't go wrong with Veuve Clicquot, which happens to be my favorite champagne, so that was a win. We were celebrating my birthday, and I received a complimentary dessert. I chose the Key Lime Pie; it was very rich but good. We also had the bread. I ordered a NY Strip - very rare, Beefeater Gin on rocks and a divine slice of seasonal Chocolate Layer Cake tonight. Everything was phenomenal, very delicious, high quality and so full of flavor. My steak was beefy, fatty without being excessively fatty, very tender and top notch. The inner temp was very good and cool with the plate nicely warm. The entire cut was very consistent. The drink was cold, refreshing, piny and sharp. I hadn't had the cake here since 2019 or 2020 before the pandemic lockdown when they last sold it regularly. It was so delicious, chocolaty, both dense n fluffy in some bites too and very well-proportioned in cake to icing ratio. It was so decadent and not overly sweet. It even tastes like it has some buttermilk in it and as I took each bite it brought back that pre-pandemic dessert memory. Morton never disappoints, always consistent and great service between Houston and Atlanta. My go to is the 16 oz. "Proprietary" Prime Cajun Ribeye. Personally my temperature preference is well done and I get hell for it no matter what steakhouse I'm at, but I don't care. It's never burnt or too chewy, if you can cook, well done is enjoyable. Dined at this establishment for my 1 year wedding anniversary. We went about an hour until closing. When seated at our booth, the chair was filled with crumbs most likely from the previous person dining there. Nonetheless, it was cleaned. I ordered a Moscow mule mocktail , and there was something floating in my drink. I did return it back and it was removed from my ticket. For dinner , I ordered the lobster ravioli (camera didn't eat first). It originally came with a mushroom sauce which I didn't want. I would like to say the manager went out her way to provide me with 2 sauce options to go on my ravioli , and I was very much appreciative of it. I however was not pleased with our waiter. He didn't really pay us much attention and did not do anything special for our anniversary. My friend and I were excited to come and experience the new Bubbles and Bites they are offering the month of January. Sadly we were very underwhelmed. While the French fries were excellent the beef and chicken sliders fell short with lack of moisture (think Popeyes biscuit), and flavor. We did order some appetizers which were great!! The meal deal also comes with champagne or Belvedere martini. I would still recommend you check it out because it's a great deal for $29. Came here for my anniversary dinner on a Sunday night and left having mixed feelings. Other than the standard card on the table that said "happy anniversary" I didn't feel like our waiter/waitress did anything to make our night feel special like other fine dining restaurants have when we were there for a special occasion, like offer a complimentary dessert. To add to this, the table they sat us at had dirty seats. The waitress did wipe it down before we sat, it was a quick rush attempt and not thorough enough. I feel like it should have been thoroughly clean before even bringing us to be seated, especially at this caliber a restaurant. Now there was some good, and that was their food. Their filet mignon was cooked very well to my order. They also had very soft bread (rare these days), a good caesar salad, and a decent creamed spinach. I also appreciated how they were able to find a solution for my wife's meal after they weren't able to exclude mushrooms from the lobster ravioli in the pasta sauce and found another sauce that went really well instead. Apart from the food, the manager was also very helpful throughout our service and was kind enough to take a picture of us after our meal. Thus, I wouldn't be completely against going back, but I would definitely consider other options first, especially for a special occasion. read more

We came here for dinner around 6:30pm as a group of six. We were sat immediately at a round table. For appetizers we ordered the beef dumplings. They arrived six to a plate with an accompanying sauce that tasted very smoky. I could've easily eaten 12 of these. For my main I ordered the chicken Christopher because frankly, I had been eating red meat since the second I landed in Texas. The chicken was pounded thin and breaded nicely. It gave the chicken a crispy skin and was very easy to cut without a knife. The star of the meal was the creamed spinach I ordered as my side. There's something about the combination of chicken and spinach that feels nostalgic. For dessert we ordered the crème brûlée and apple pie. The apple pie takes 20 minutes to come out (we were told ahead of time) but when it's brought out it's fresh from the oven and so gooey. While I ended the night on a sugar rush, I wouldn't have had it any other way. read more

It's a throwback American steakhouse, with Early Hollywood sensibility, and dim lighting to set that familiar setting. We had a early reservation the was easily accommodated, as well as our 2yo who joined us. The service was very professional and polite. It was everything you expect in an upscale steakhouse. We went through a good slice of the menu, so I gave individual thoughts below. The Too Long; Didn't Read version: service and atmosphere are crafted in the mode of other restaurants. The food is about what you expect, but not necessarily at the steeper price point. The menu lacks some premium cuts and elevated sides, but everything is still done well and with great portion size. I think that Landry's has better steakhouses in their portfolio and at similar hit to the wallet. Caesar 3/5: standard dressing and toppings. Could've used a nicer looking Parmesan topping. Meatballs 4/5: nice portion size and still really moist. Great little combo of sauces on top. Lobster Bisque 3/5: large portion again, not as much lobster as you'd like. Steak 4/5: cooked to order, always get points for that as some places find a way to mess that up. Nicely seasoned but on the chewy side, could've used some more time to be rested at room temp before and after the cook. There weren't many high end choices here unfortunately. I like to try to find menus that front and center say "Prime", "Wagyu", "Akaushi", "from SRF" so that as a consumer I know that I'm getting quality that I'm paying for. Brussel Sprouts 2/5: not actively bad, but everything that I don't want in a sprout. No texture, as in not crispy at all, we were told that they were. Not as cooked through as you'd like either. Flavor was just in the onion/shallot and bacon that came with it. Truffle Fries 5/5: super thin, massive portion, super crispy, super tasty. No notes. Dessert 3/5: par for the course. Affogato was fine. Crème Brûlée was standard. Neither item aspired to be anything more. read more

The service was subpar (they even forgot part of our order and didn't even apologize when we reminded them!), and the food left a LOT to be desired. The manager even walked away with our card and then went and chatted with someone at the bar for 5+ minutes. Thomas was extremely amazing! He was super knowledgeable about the menu and everything he and this location are top notch. We had a small celebration for our family last night and Thomas took our photo and the Hostess printed out a little card for my son's acceptance to the US Naval Academy. I ordered the 16oz Prime New York Strip and was really disappointed. I asked for medium rare plus, but the sides of the steak were burned, which left a bitter taste. The steak itself lacked flavor and definitely didn't feel like the high-quality cut you'd expect from a place like Morton's. For sides, I had the mac and cheese, but the cheese didn't taste like the best quality and the dish overall was underwhelming. I also tried the meatballs, which again didn't stand out--just nothing memorable about them. For a restaurant that markets itself as high-end and charges premium prices, the food just didn't deliver. Honestly, I would have had a better meal cooking at home. I regret not going to Perry's, Pappas Bros., or Mastro's instead, where I've had far better experiences for the same (or less) money. We had a fabulous dinner here! We took the opportunity to indulge in their Houston Restaurant Week menu, and it was well worth it! I got the wedge salad, the filet mignon, creamed spinach, and their famous hot chocolate cake. The wedge salad was rich and iconic of what a great steakhouse wedge salad should taste like. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection (must try it with the garlic sauce). The creamed spinach was the best I've ever had, and the hot chocolate cake had this amazing crust on the outside and gooey chocolatey goodness on the inside. Our server was very attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu, and it seemed like this was the case of all of the servers present. The service was top tier at this location. We went during the evening and the ambiance was nice. The lighting was low, almost too low. The food was just ok in my opinion. They give you bread at the beginning of your meal. The bread is topped with onions and poppyseed and served with butter. The bread was mediocre. We also had the cooked oyster appetizer, i give this a 4/5, it was a little pricey for just 4 oysters. We had the greek chopped salad and in my opinion it was over dressed. The lettuce was almost slimy but I enjoyed the chick peas in it. For our entree we got the cajun ribeye. The ribeye was 5/5, it was very tinder and flavorful. We added the lobster tail to our entree and it was a great addition!! For our side we got the gouda and bacon potato au gratin, this was a 3/5. The presentation was good, the temperature was nice and hot but the flavor was lacking. For dessert, we got the banana bread pudding and it was a 5/5 as well. It was topped with caramel and vanilla ice cream. I loved that it wasnt too sweet. Overall, ide go back and would recommend this location. I was recently on a special date and we ordered the Wagyu steaks that have been on the email promotion for this month. I was very surprised at how tough the steak was for such a top level cut of meat. I would have addressed the problem at the time but didn't want to I have an issue while trying to treat someone to a lovely meal. I have had Wagyu at other restaurants and know what to expect, but this seemed like an ordinary cut of meet, not even up to Prime level standards. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed in this restaurant and would definitely not recommend spending the amount of money on a chewy pice of steak. Recent dining experience left a lot to be desired going up the elevator I was met with the strong smell of marijuana, so much i took the stairs back down after dining. Signage inside indicate ball caps were not appropriate yet two gentlemen at the bar dressed very casual were sporting caps. Food was mid, my steak was too rare/pink after ordering a medium well, sauce that came with plate tasted just like wine, manager seemed racist, waiter was okay but after we didn't order appetizers he was real short and paid us no attention. We had a celebration event planned for my brothers wedding party, while the location was nice and the overall restaurant was beautiful , it was lacking in several elements. When I spend $1000+ on dinner I would expect stellar performance. My first issue was the wobbly weird table, it was an extended round table that was flimsy and rickety, while it was covered with a white table cloth , the table it's self was not what I would have expected in fine dining, we were sat In the back side corner of the restaurant closest to the kitchen and by a weird portioned column Service was lacking, I hate to say that but it was, I had to ask 4 times for my drink order, the waiter never asked or offered a refill for me, I was given the wrong food order and my brother was given the wrong cooked ribeye and he only ate half of it, I expect better from this type of establishment.Also our personalized menu we indicated a bachelor party and not a bachelorette party even though the notes I left for the event specifically said bachelor party It was very chaotic and unfortunately the waiter could not keep up and seemed frazzled.
