What happened? I've been here many times and have been satisfied with the food and the portion sizes but I just ordered to-go chicken & waffles ($20 after tip!!) and it was the saddest portion I have ever seen. Half of a waffle. Really? And a tiny piece of insanely chewy fried chicken?? Horrible. My roommates were also incredibly disappointed with their portion sizes of the food they ordered. I'm usually not one to complain on here but what happened today was upsetting. I had called morning squeeze to ask if they did reservations or a waitlist and they mentioned to me we could do it through yelp. I put on a notification to let me know how long the wait was at the time I wanted for my family of 5 plus a dog. The yelp app said a 15 minute wait so we put our names in and headed on over. When we arrived I told them I put my name in on yelp and the hostess said they were not taking anything on yelp because it was family weekend. The wait was 45 minutes and we had a movie to see at a certain time so we could not stay and wait. Just disappointing that we were not worried about a long wait because of the information we were told and I could not show my parents a place that I love coming to. read more

November 7th, 2019. I went to Morning Squeeze to buy an egg omelet. It comes with Turkey Sausage, onions, mushrooms, and a few other things. I requested less cheese, and no mushrooms and substitute for fruit. First I'm a diabetic and I took my insulin in advance, before eating. The eggs were super greasy and made me sick to the stomach, with lots of cheese, when I clearly asked for a small amount of cheese. And the fruit was super hard. I called the morning squeeze and asked if I can speak with the manager. Spoke with Jordan the manager and explained to her how greasy the eggs were and how hard the fruit was. She asked if I had the food, I stated no-it was thrown in the garbage. She stated well she can't help me than. Advised I was on break when I got the food and didn't k of it was gonna be greasy/hard, or will have to bring it back, to be accommodated. She stated yea, can't help me than. And its not just because she said that. But she was very rude. Her tone was horrible. I then told her well U guys have just lost an customer. And she still didn't say anything. I just hung up. The sad and unfortunate part is that, I was just bragging to one of my co workers about this meal and was excited to get it and eat it. First off, the staff was very nice and accommodating. Our waitress was very nice when we complained about the food.... but the food was so awful. It was probably the worst breakfast place I've ever been to. The potatoes were raw, the hollandaise was literally like water, ex. The best thing on my plate was the garnish orange slice. Even the coffee was watery.. I'm giving 1.5 since the waitress was helpful but please just avoid this place. The food was overpriced even for good food. So disappointed I was so excited Morning Squeeze was coming to Tempe but was sadly let down! I live in Tempe and frequent local establishments for breakfast, lunch and happy hour. Customer service was good! Food was terrible! My breakfast was cold, eggs were not cooked right and my order was not complete. Had a great breakfast here yesterday. First off, this place is brand new so I think the previous reviewers came when things weren't fully established yet. I had an awesome breakfast and the food was delicious. It was fresh, flavorful, the portion was huge, and the prices were very reasonably priced. The menu selection is amazing. They have something for everyone. The decor is modern, bright, homey and has a great vibe. The service was impeccable. Not to mention the location is fantastic. This is a winner for sure. This is probably a beautiful place to come and eat some food and enjoy asu campus basically. They have 3.99 mimosa flights which will make you super excited with a amc theater right across the street if you want to enjoy a movie after a amazing brunch. They have great egg Benedict's and they have great huevos rancheros which all this food is vegetarian and it will not let you down. They have outdoor seating with steam showers and they have a indoor seating also and close at 230 pm on Sunday which is awesome. They are right in the hub asu campus so for lunch brunch they are busy. They have many tables available and if you check in and write a review they give you a mint chocolate crepe. Me and my girl friend came here to enjoy the outside and try some food out and we are not disappointed at all and we would come back to this awesome location again because they have one in Scottsdale and they have one in Tempe and we are at this location in Tempe. I love the morning squeeze in Old town. We've tried the Mill location twice now and it just hasn't measured up. The first time we went, we ordered the hangover bowl which we get at the other location and love it, but they forgot to drain the beans this time. I poured so much liquid out of my dish and asked the waitress if it was supposed to be like this and she replied yes. I just dealt with it and ordered a pancake. This time, we walked in and got seated immediately but got moved because a server asked for us to be in his section. Having been a server, we assumed it was because he had no tables and wanted some guests. However, we quickly learned he had a few other tables. He asked all of our preferences but got them all wrong: the type of juice we wanted with our mimosa, red or green sauce on our rancheros, etc. When we got the bill, we had an $8 charge for juice (but it was still the wrong flavor) , as opposed to the other location where you get a side of juice with your bottle of champagne. We would have told him all of this, but we only saw him 3 times; to take our drink order, food order and to drop off the check. We really do love Morning Squeeze, but we haven't had good luck the first two times, maybe the third will be the charm! read more

Incredible food! incredible staff. They established the brand in Scottsdale. Protein pancakes, Acahi bowl's--you name it they have it. The staff wants nothing more than to make sure your coffee is full, your juice is fresh and your bacon is crispy. You can't go wrong. First time eating here, likely my last. We went in a group of four for breakfast at a relatively slow time. The positives of the place... the music is nice, the location is good, and they're pretty heavily staffed at this hour (around 9:30) so you can expect pretty good and consistent service. My initial impression was not the most positive with the decor, just looks like another throwback diner style. The hostess was quick to greet us and we were sat immediately, the waitress stopped by shortly after and got us all waters (massive water cups... huge plus). Everything went super smoothly through ordering, and our waitress was quick and friendly. Additionally, she was training someone new and you could see she was doing well to set a great example. The trouble hit after our order was in. The food was made super quickly, but they clearly aren't used to cooking, either just this menu, or anything at all. The food was made in an order that was not practical to get the dishes out at the same time for the table, thusly, we had the pleasure of watching out meals sit in the pass and essentially die for about 10 minutes. When the food did finally arrive (we were waiting on French fries for one plate) everything was dry and overdone from the heat lamps (not likely the lamps to blame for the poor quality of food, but I'm trying to be somewhat generous). The burrito that one of my friends ordered had been sitting in the pass so long that even the Pico and green Chile on top dried out, the eggs Benedict that I had order had too much hollandaise sauce put on it, and, again, sat in the so long that the sauce dried out; not before the sauce thoroughly soaked the English muffin base and turned it to mush. The omelette that another friend of mine ordered was not bad, he said he liked it. However, his hashbrowns were basically an overcooked block of potatoes that looked like they had started frozen. Finally, my wife's sandwich was pretty good. No complaints from her about the sandwich. Ironically, the French fries, that we had waited far too long on, were overcooked; they were terribly dry and bland. I will give credit to the small nuances of the restaurant that were rather amazing, i.e; the water sizes, the "gum" card, the silverware at the table, etc. They were fine touches. Moreover, the host that sat is was great, the waitresses that tended to our table were awesome. I give the lead waitress credit for being able to be as present as she was with us, and I assume all her tables, while training her new employee. And because I think it is improper to critique something without anything constructive to say: the food is probably pretty good when it doesn't over rest on the pass, under a heat lamp. Instead of making everyone at a table wait because your fryer guy f***ed up, you could bring the food out as it is ready... if you're going for the diner style... embody the diner environment. People are just there to eat, and no one is going for the 4 star experience. We don't expect 6 waitresses to come out and put all our plates down at the exact same time. Much respect for the newer business and I know that you're in a tough, competitive location. It would be nice to see you successful and I look forward to seeing your future status. The decorations were cute and our waiter was amazing. However we came in for the unlimited mimosas. I had seen it advertised randomly on my Instagram but it didn't have times or anything. When we got there it wasn't on the menu but our waiter was able to give them to us. We went after volunteering at a marathon and got there about 1230. There were only two of us and one of us ordered the flavored mimosas and one ordered plain, and we each got yogurt with berries. At 204 I asked our waiter to bring another round of mimosas having no idea there was a time limit. We were near the bar and I heard the bar tender rudely tell him "It's after two. We're done. Sorry not sorry to them." We had no idea and it was barely past two. Nobody came to ask us if we wanted a last round or anything. We only ended up with 6 mimosas total, two yogurts and our bill was $56. Completely not worth it. UPDATE: The manager asked to give them a second chance and it was a much better experience. We got the breakfast tacos and an omelet. The portions were huge, the food was good, the staff was all very nice and accommodating and the atmosphere is also good. The managers took care of our meal.
