New family keeping the same quality of food as their predecessors (Sharkey's Pizza). Still the best place to eat in the Baltic, CT.

Haven't gotten anything out of there yet, that I haven't liked. Always great food! Customer service is A+ too.

That's how I first learned about @brickandbasil in Yantic. I visited several months ago, but forgot to post my review. There was a bit of a hiccup when I visited. I drove about 40 minutes to get there, and when I arrived, I learned that they were closed for their first ever private Baby Shower party. I was crushed. But this story has a rated PG Happy Ending. I called the restaurant and spoke to Amy. I explained that I had driven a ways and asked if they could make me a pizza to go. They didn't take long to tell me that they would make me the first pizza of the day before the shower got into Full Swing. I was grateful for their hospitality, and terrific wood-fired pizza. I was inside briefly. They have plenty of seating and a bar that with decor suggesting a love of music. I ordered the Mama Mia and ate a couple slices outside. It had sliced meatball, roasted red pepper, mozzarella and ricotta on a good chewy Wood Fired Crust. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. The red sauce had bright flavor. The ricotta was creamy and fluffy. Brick and Basil is well respected in pizza circles, and I can see why. It started as a food truck. But a food truck that starts with the word Brick, was bound to have a Brick and Mortar. And we're lucky they do. 5 Stars

I discovered this place late at night one night due to pregnancy cravings for potato skins. I literally googled "Norwich potato skins" and this wonderful establishment was the first result on Google. And I am so glad my cravings (fate) brought us together. Myself and the whole staff at my office have ordered so much of this menu that I'll just cover it by saying the food is consistently good. Family pizza joints in New England are a dime a dozen but the issue is they are rarely consistent nor is every item on the menu good. Tulli's is the exception. Salads are massive and fresh, the clam strips are fresh, pizza is delicious, grinders large and filling, chicken fingers are massive, and the potato skins....worth the Google search. I'm sure I'll be in sometime this week, picking up another massive order :)

From what I have gathered there's a crew that gets it, and a crew that doesn't give a crap. I've ordered the same thing the same way and get different amounts of meat each time. I pay for extra meat because they are a bit skimpy with their cold meats. I've paid for extra meat 5 times and have received extra meat twice and one of those correct times was because I ate there. The time I ate there was a quiet and pleasant experience. Tall blonde haired kid was my server, I say kid with respect, you can tell he's young but he was also very respectful. Everything came out timely and perfect. I'm not sure I'll be ordering takeout anytime soon. Could you imagine opening the grinders in store to make sure there's extra meat before ya leave? Cringe, no thanks. Just make it right to begin with. These sandwiches are not cheap especially when I'm gluten free and have to pay en extra $5 for the bread I can eat. The grinders are great when made to your liking, I'll give them that.

Maybe some better lighting but a very nice interior with vintage grade school chairs!! Food: presented well and very tasty, pizza was good but had to ask for some crushed red pepper and seasonings. The beet gnocchi was excellent and the hummus was great too. The meatballs were in a skillet and were great but possibly needs more sauce Overall: 100% if in the area it's a revisit for me!!!

If you're on a pizza tour or just have a hankering for great pizza and good beer, Trigo needs to be your destination. This was my second visit in the last 12 months, and both times they delivered consistently delicious food and excellent service. You're greeted warmly with a smile, and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The pizza here is wood fired with a thin, crispy crust with just a bit of char. Don't be surprised if you see a small burnt spot or two--that's intentional and part of the style. If you enjoy the artisan-style pizzas from places like Pepe's, Sally's, Krust, or Otto, you'll feel right at home here. Located in the somewhat unassuming (and occasionally gritty) downtown Willimantic area, Trigo is truly a hidden gem. Street parking is available, or you can park in the rear lots and walk up the alley to the front entrance. We ordered the classic red cheese pizza, which was savory, crispy, and exactly what you want from a great pie. The real standout, though, was the Lemon White pizza. It was fantastic--unique, bright, and seriously delicious. Thin slices of whole lemon are baked right into it, and they're completely edible. A drizzle of honey and a touch of chili pepper bring everything together in a really memorable way. The beer selection is solid as well. We enjoyed the Keeper's Irish Red and the Mountain Magic cider. Honestly, give Trigo a shot--you won't regret it. My only complaint? They're closed on Sundays... which is a bit of a tragedy.

All of them were very good, but that Calabrese was excellent, especially if you like a little spice. Our server was kind, efficient, and the food came out in about 20 minutes. We waited in line 20-30 minutes, but it flew by as we chatted away. Once we were seated, service was quick and friendly. The menu isn't super extensive in terms of appetizers (they have two salads and a burrata); the main attraction is pizza! So pizza it was. All pizzas are offered in a small (12''), medium, and large size. I ordered a small Calabrese and it was plenty. The pie was slightly bigger than 12'' and at first I thought I'd eat it all because it's thin crust. Negative. I ate half of it and was stuffed. My pizza had pieces of flat sausage, (little) pepperoni, and Calabrian peppers, which were definitely on the spicy side. As for the toppings, I appreciated that they didn't skimp out on them, which was the same for my other friends' own pies. Frank Pepe has two locations next to each other. One is their original building, which is usually for Yale-out only, though they have limited seating (you have to be ushered in from the line that forms at the main building). One nice thing about Frank Pepe is they have two parking lots, which is nice since there's not a ton of street parking. Overall, super glad we came here. I'd visit again!!
