This morning I ordered an omelette with avocado, spinach, and tomato, along with home fries (the tastiest ever!), and rye toast. Hubby ordered a Mexican omellete and a side of chorizo. I was hesitant to sample the chorizo thinking it would be spicy for my sensitive taste buds, but I was wrong--the chorizo was out of this world! Stopped here on our way back from Chapman falls. They have quite an extensive menu. Our party got chips and salsa for an appetizer (not pictured), chips came out warm and the salsa, although a little watery, was very flavorful. For meals we got an omelette (breakfast served all day), fish and chips, and enchiladas. The food came out nice and hot. The service was quick and staff was friendly and attentive. Never order from Emely's Pizza Restaurant! I ordered a $20 breakfast (overpriced as it is) at 8:20am and still have not received it yet! The order was delayed 3 times and it's now 10:00am and I still don't have my food! Unbelievable and inexcusable! Driver claims he's 6 minutes out now after 1 hour and 40 minutes of placing the order. I'm willing to bet it's stone COLD! On top of the food being 2 hours late now, it's stone cold and overcooked! The Steak is dry and hard! I ordered it to be cooked Medium Rare! This is FAR from Medium Rare! It is all inedible! If I ordered directly from the restaurant I would demand a full refund! We stopped here passing through town. It was so delicious. Try the sopes. They were incredible. They are made from scratch and so filling! My mom got the Greek panini and it was very good. My fiancé is Mexican, and said Emelys Mexican dishes are authentic, and he has never had one he didn't like. I was in the area and stopped by to this hidden gem. Let me start of by saying that we were immediately greeted by a friendlyemployee. I had the vegetarian omlette and crispy homefries, they were just perfect. We went back for dinner and I had the tacos dorados platter and my husband had regular tacos, we were even more impressed because their Mexican food was very authentic and flavorful. I'll try to keep this concise. Staff: For a small restaurant I wouldn't have thought I'd be quite so invisible, especially as I was only one of two tables sat. Cleanliness: Acceptable, more along the lines of how clean you'd expect a roadside diner to be. Menu: Very varied. American, Italian, Mexican, some Greek, some seafood. Plus breakfast all day. Food: I ordered BBQ wings and a chimichanga. The wings were hot, flavorful, large. The chimichanga was served with black beans, rice, and topped with green sauce, sour cream, red sauce (like a mini Mexican flag of flavor), then some shredded cheese. While it looked great, there was definitely hidden spice here. I know, I know, it's Mexican food, expect some spice. However, it wasn't just the sauces on top, the same spicy sauce was cooked into the chimichanga itself, so there was no escape. I was offered a replacement, so I chose wonderfully sauced Eggs Benedict. Price: Not expensive, very reasonable. However, the more expensive chimichanga was left on my bill vice the replacement eggs that I actually ate ($3 difference), and come to find out there's only one refill on the soda, after which I got charged for another soda. The food was fine. In fact, my tostada was very good, among the best I had, prepared with fresh black bean instead of canned refritos. I also liked the fresh-fried tortilla chips. Everything about my meal was great (although my partner didn't go loco over her spicy chicken taco salad, but it was not a menu item; the regular salad features ground beef). I wanted to like this place as soon as I saw the varied menu. "Emely" was even our server. The sign out front boasted pizza and Italian and Mexican, almost as an afterthought. But the Mexican seemed to be the winner here. There were even some interesting-looking Mexican breakfast items. I don't know, it was hard to tell, as they serve breakfast all day and tables full of kids were ordering waffles at 2:00, then running and screaming and tearing up the joint. It's a small dining room and it gets pretty noisy, especially when people aren't controlling their kids. That's the reason for only two stars (which might be generous). It's a family joint. VERY family. During our stay, one family ignored their kid as he screamed constantly and ran around the restaurant. They left, only to be replaced by another screaming family ordering whip-creamed waffles while they all yelled at each other. Okay...maybe this was just a fluke, a bad day. It's a shame, because I thought the food was quite good (I think, it's all a blur now). But the restaurant was filthy. Reviewer who said it was clean needs to come back and re-review! Giant chunks of food spread all over the floor, tables left uncleaned. I don't mean it was messy, I mean it was gross. It didn't look like anyone had taken a sweeper to floor since November. Makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like. Yet, still, I give it two stars. The food was good. The menu is extensive and varied (Pizza? Burger? Breakfast? Greek? Italian? Mexican?). Maybe I'm getting too old for "family" restaurants. Or maybe I'm getting too old for families who let their kids run around like maniacs. Too bad...this place has potential. I have ordered from here three times and the food was amazing every time. I used DoorDash, so I never went inside, but the food is worth it. So good. It will not disappoint!
