Chicken Sopes

We went for dinner as I was craving their corn chowder. I got the corn chowder with Fries,my daughter got the Chicken Sopes. I love their corn chowder and get it often. My daughter has severe gluten allergy. She got the chicken Sopes. She said it was really delicious.

Stopped here on our way back from Chapman falls. They have quite an extensive menu. Our party got chips and salsa for an appetizer (not pictured), chips came out warm and the salsa, although a little watery, was very flavorful. For meals we got an omelette (breakfast served all day), fish and chips, and enchiladas. The food came out nice and hot. The service was quick and staff was friendly and attentive. The place gives the typical diner vibes. Bathrooms were clean. Would stop by if we were in the area again.

Steak, Scramble Eggs and Potatoes.

Never order from Emely's Pizza Restaurant! I ordered a $20 breakfast (overpriced as it is) at 8:20am and still have not received it yet! The order was delayed 3 times and it's now 10:00am and I still don't have my food! Unbelievable and inexcusable! Driver claims he's 6 minutes out now after 1 hour and 40 minutes of placing the order. I'm willing to bet it's stone COLD! On top of the food being 2 hours late now, it's stone cold and overcooked! The Steak is dry and hard! I ordered it to be cooked Medium Rare! This is FAR from Medium Rare! It is all inedible! If I ordered directly from the restaurant I would demand a full refund! I attempted to try the food and the Steak was hard and the Potatoes were dirty amushy, the eggs were dried out and everything was tasteless! Gordon Ramsay would shut them down!

Food is decent, this is more like a diner in a restaurant setting, haven't tried the pizza yet but the breakfast order I had was good.

The roll was absolutely perfect. Meats and cheese were delcious. Basically, it's the standard all should aspire to for a grinder. Excellent.

The guy behind the register was mumbling under his breath about 'no sugar content in the food' and said 'they ask a lot of questions.' He is lucky he doesn't have to ask those kind of questions and shouldn't be mumbling under his breath when paying customers are asking questions so they do not cause a spike in blood sugar that could cause a hospital visit. 3) Only one picnic table to sit outside. Now the good: 1) The lady who took our order was really nice, she asked how we wanted the sandwich prepped and answered our questions. 2) They offer an extra meat option for those who like a more filling sandwich. 3) The small sandwiches are rather large. So, if you have a TMJ problem, you may want to consider a bun instead of a grinder bread. 4) the cannolis are delicious, even better than the cannolis my spouse bought at Mike's Pastry in Boston (we waited 30+ minutes in line. So, the good outweighs the bad so we will visit again next time we are in town.

The Flour Girl Cafe and Bakery - Sourdough

"I love the flower girl Oh, I don't know just why…read moreShe simply caught my eye I love the flower girl she seemed so sweet and kind. She crept into my mind." (The Cowsills) Visiting the Flour Girl Café and Bakery will put you squarely in the middle of a Flour Girl Village with four distinct components. Within the village is the Flour Girl Café at 16 Main, the Flour Girl Bakery at 14 Main, the Flour Girl Country Store at 12 Main, and the Door Yard in a rear courtyard for dining and hosting events between the bakery and country store. Today we had breakfast at the Café and followed it up with a visit to the bakery. A common thread at both stops was the wonderful personality and friendliness of the staff we interacted with. The counterperson at the Café could not have been nicer and her personality radiated throughout the room like a beam of sunshine. She welcomed every new customer as though they were long lost relatives, exchanged some pleasant small talk and then diligently repeated the orders before ringing them up. She was fantastic. The café keeps things humming all week long--open Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 4:00, Saturdays from 7:30 to 4:00, and Sundays from 7:30 to 3:00. Flour Girl Café covers you from breakfast through lunch. Mornings bring all the good stuff: coffees and lattes, smoothies, egg sandwiches, bagels, wraps, waffles, toasts--you get the idea. Swing by at lunchtime and you'll find sandwiches, paninis, salads, burgers and soups waiting for you. Oh, and as a bonus perk, the bread for sandwiches and burgers is made at the bakery next door, so freshness is something the Flour Girl takes seriously. For breakfast, we had a Bacon, Egg, Lettuce, Tomato, and Cheese Bagel ($7.99) and an Avocado Toast (2 pieces) with Feta and tomato ($9.99), Two 16-ounce drip coffees were $3.50 apiece. The portions were large, and my avocado toast on sourdough was fantastic. We sat in the first-floor dining room and took in the pretty interior design of pinks, pastels, and floral color theme. Now, on to the bakery! The Flour Girl Bakery may be best known for its sourdough breads, but the fun doesn't stop there. You'll also find muffins, cookies, scones, their award winning cinnamon rolls, and a rotating lineup of fresh baked breads. And those cinnamon rolls? They spark a full on weekend rush--people happily line up just to snag one before they disappear. We picked up a box of mixed goods, muffins, cake squares, and a big hunk of jalapeno cornbread that will go perfectly with a homemade batch of lentil chili sitting in my fridge. We saw an adorable feature at the bakery, where plastic eggs were hidden within the store for the kiddies to find and cash in for a cookie. It's the little customer service features we saw at the Flour Girl's Café, Bakery, and Country Store that made today's visit so pleasant.

I think there may be a small sign but i heard it several times during my visit - people asking for breakfast! Might be something to reconsider or place a visible sign underlining breakfast stops at 11:30 AM. Anyhow, pivoted to the lunch menu - pesto chicken sandwich was delicious. Did not love the pasta salad, wish there was the option for fry's. Really wanted the thanksgiving wrap but was out of stuck - next time hopefully! I will say - while there are many options for seating, especially with the new accommodation, it's tight. Chairs back into aisles and the table legs don't allow chairs to be pushed in that well. Entrance area can feel a bit overwhelming if it's busy. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable, will continue to come back.

A lot of reviews seem to harp on the interior, so I'll say it gave a double wide converted into a restaurant vibe. Ultimately, however, it was clean and comfortable, and that's what I want from a restaurant. Service was friendly, but I definitely sat without a coffee refill for a while, or any kind of attention, while the waitress chatted with her friends at the next table over. Food wise, the menu is classic diner, nothing too fancy, and a small enough variety of underlying ingredients that you can be confident they're doing the cooking. I got onion rings, along with two eggs and a ribeye. The onion rings were great, crispy but not burnt, good batter. The eggs were actually over easy, like I ordered, which is a huge positive. The ribeye didn't have much flavor, but they have A1, and it was a little undercooked, but I would rather that than overcooked. The coffee was brewed well, not burnt nor bitter. Other notes: the menu has an egg price modifier note, but the prices were as listed, so either they've updated the menu or the egg crisis is over enough that they stopped modifying the price. There's a sign at the register, but not in the menu, that paying with a card, debit or credit, will garner you a 4% fee, that you avoid by paying cash.
