I'm a little embarrassed writing this due to how often I frequent this place. I would just like to say that no, the$60 worth of food I am frequently picking up is not for me. I discovered this place late at night one night due to pregnancy cravings for potato skins. I literally googled "Norwich potato skins" and this wonderful establishment was the first result on Google. And I am so glad my cravings (fate) brought us together. Myself and the whole staff at my office have ordered so much of this menu that I'll just cover it by saying the food is consistently good. Family pizza joints in New England are a dime a dozen but the issue is they are rarely consistent nor is every item on the menu good. Tulli's is the exception. Salads are massive and fresh, the clam strips are fresh, pizza is delicious, grinders large and filling, chicken fingers are massive, and the potato skins....worth the Google search. This is a tough place to review. I've eaten here once and ordered out several times and it's very inconsistent service. From what I have gathered there's a crew that gets it, and a crew that doesn't give a crap. I've ordered the same thing the same way and get different amounts of meat each time. I pay for extra meat because they are a bit skimpy with their cold meats. I've paid for extra meat 5 times and have received extra meat twice and one of those correct times was because I ate there. The time I ate there was a quiet and pleasant experience. Tall blonde haired kid was my server, I say kid with respect, you can tell he's young but he was also very respectful. Everything came out timely and perfect. I'm not sure I'll be ordering takeout anytime soon. Could you imagine opening the grinders in store to make sure there's extra meat before ya leave? Cringe, no thanks. Just make it right to begin with. These sandwiches are not cheap especially when I'm gluten free and have to pay en extra $5 for the bread I can eat. My husband and I went and ordered take out during a Tuesday afternoon. This was my first time here and his first time since new ownership. We ordered a bleu cheese/cranberry salad with grilled chicken, a house salad with crispy buffalo chicken and small mushroom pizza. The wait wasn't long, especially since we ordered a pizza. The restaurant was clean and tidy. They were playing a kid's cartoon on their large tv(slightly irrelevant). When we got home I realized that the buffalo chicken salad was fresh but the chicken was not Buffalo, just plain crispy chicken. My husband enjoyed his bleu/cran salad. I tried a bite of the pizza and it was pretty good; Saving the rest for later. All in all, things were fine. Next time we go back we'll try something completely different to get a good feel of the menu. read more

We got a mail out advertisement and it offered a 30% discount on Mondays in November so we gave it a shot. House special pizza & 2 Italian Grinders, with the 30% discount the order was $35 and change. The grinders were OK, for the price, they were very average. The pizza at 30% off was weak even at that price and I can't imagine paying full price for a such a small and light house special. I can see from reading other posts that the owner is active posting in Yelp. I imagine he will read mine, what I would recommend is head over to Pizza Palice in Jewett City and order a house special which is a 16" crust and then compare that to your house special pizza, you'll understand my comments and why I only gave 2 stars. Nothing horrible about the food, it was edible but even taking inflation into account for what we got for $35 it was a disappointment and if we had paid normal price, which would have been $50, I would have been extremely dissatisfied. read more

I recently tried Taftville Pizza for the first time. I was a huge fan of Tulli's Pizza when I lived in the area and wanted to return after it switched to new ownership/branding. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza (formerly Justin's Buffalo Chicken Pizza) and my girlfriend ordered a hamburger and garlic pizza. I'll bullet out some highlights below on our experience. Service wise, the staff were very friendly, including what I believe to have been the owner. The pizzas were slightly overcooked, which is fine because neither of us mind a slightly overdone pizza. The owner wanted to remake our pizzas but we were limited in time, but appreciated the offer despite it not being necessary for us. He did end up giving us a chocolate peanut butter pie after we denied the offer to remake the pies, which was appreciated. Food wise, the buffalo chicken pizza was tasty, but some things are different than before which bring down the overall experience. The pie is not as large as the small used to be, it's clearly been cut down in thickness compared to Tulli's successful recipe. Previously, I would have said this location had the best greek style buffalo chicken pizza in the Taftville area, but I would be reluctant to do so now. Crust was not up to par with the previous buttery crust that Tulli's provided. There was a plentiful amount of buffalo sauce provided and the chicken was acceptable. I typically ordered a blue cheese dipping cup on the side for my pizza and they've switched the brand over to a chunkless blue cheese, which is not my preference. Overall, solid, but not quite what I remembered. The hamburger and garlic pie was unfortunately very bland. The hamburger meat did not appear to be seasoned, or perhaps it was mildly seasoned? It was difficult to taste the garlic and the red sauce seemed very generic tasting. Overall, this pie was very bland compared to other similar restaurants in the area. The restaurant is very clean in appearance, but lacked the soul that the previous location had. There is hardly anything indicating community involvement, the TV was turned off, and the dining area was fairly empty compared to what I had been used to with Tullis. The prices haven't changed from what Tulli's offered, but the quality and quantity of food appears to have diminished. I highly recommend the current ownership take a second look at what made Tulli's so successful and reevaluate the direction the restaurant has taken post Tulli's ownership. As it is right now, it is difficult to recommend this over nearby pizza restaurants. read more

I used to be a regular customer, but it has gone downhill since the Tulli family sold the place. I've since stopped ordering from them because of the following: Pizza: Frozen crust? Tastes bland... and stale. Toppings are inconsistent. Sometimes you get the right amount, sometimes not. Once got a large pepperoni pie which only had 8 pieces of pepperoni on it, and it cost over $20. Salads: Lettuce isn't fresh. Most of the time, it's started to turn brown. Tomatoes are over ripe. I once ordered a premium salad, and some of the ingredients were missing... but there was lots of browning lettuce. Hamburgers: Underdone. Fish & Chips: Frozen fries. Sometimes crinkle cut, sometimes not. Fish not as fresh as it used to be when the Tulli's owned the business. Also, the fish is sometimes poorly cooked; either overdone, or underdone. There are other problems, but the above are the major ones. It seems that the new owner is trying hard, but is being let down by kitchen staff. I understand that inflation caused prices to go up, but I don't believe that the food they're selling is worth the relatively high prices they're charging. read more

Not much of a Pizza fan But I do love Mac and Cheese. Can't wait to try it, Have had their grinders always very Good, I usually get Takeout (only 5 minutes from there) my Favorite is the Meatballs in a little delicious pasta sauce. This is currently under the name Taftville Pizza as of 2023, with a new owner. I have been coming here for almost a decade when I visit family in the area, and read that the new owner would take over the recipes and menu overall. And I'm so happy to report that my favorites are still just as high quality. I highly recommend the Buffalo chicken pizza for fans of that flavor; far and beyond the best one I know. The owner, KC, was very friendly and happy to see us come in, and the server was friendly and attentive. As I write, the business is undergoing some remodeling, but don't let that deter you from having some excellent pizza. Also, I highly recommend the garlic cheese curds. read more

Great food for the most part! Almost everything hits spot on. (Though their Sweet Potato Fries are bland and soggy, do not recommend and their BBQ Pizza was hard when I ordered it for delivery..and I live right around the corner) But the staff are friendly, attentive and for a new restaurant, they're doing good getting their baring. They now serve breakfast! A bit pricey though ($5.99 for a side of Bacon or sausage) The ambiance is nice and laid back. Everything is clean and the tables are spaced out well. I highly recommend their Cheese Pizza, Clam Chowder and Chicken Noodle and Chicken and Dumplings soups! They're also the only Pizzeria with Crispy Chicken as a choice for a topping. They do charge per topping though. But you can also earn points! read more

Cute little whole in the wall in Norwich by the old mills. I've driven past a million times and finally stopped in. Huge portions and dietary options available. The gluten free pizza was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I would recommend for anyone in the mood for pizza, burgers, or a really good salad. Fast service and the waitress was super kind. Was craving some decent Italian food, but nothing extravagant. I decided on Tulli's based on the reviews here on Yelp. Upon walking in, the first impression I got was this is more of a take out restaurant than a dine in. Especially since I was the only customer there. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My server was beyond helpful and made sure my needs were meet. For the food, I started off with the mozzarella cheese sticks as an appetizer followed by the chicken parmesan for my meal. The cheese sticks were large, fresh, and cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend these. In regards to the chicken parmesan, I was a little disappointed. The portions are large and you have a choice of having the chicken served over shells or spaghetti. The chicken itself was tender, but the sauce itself tasted burnt which overwhelmed any taste the chicken might have had. While dinning I did see many people come in for takeout and all that I observed were picking up pizzas or sandwiches which seems to be what Tulli's is more known for. I'm totally disgusted with this place. Called in a delivery order for a large pizza, 6 wings and a 2 liter of soda. $46 not including tip, the pizza was so small, I would say maybe a medium at any other pizza place, small wings and they forgot to bring the side of blue cheese! We paid all that money for this! Never again will I order from them. So expensive, not the best pizza I've had, not even close, and for the price you're gonna FORGET part of the order! Go for the cannoli and stay for the Pizza! New place, the interior is much brighter and welcoming than the old joint that was there. The pizza and grinders are good but nothing extraordinary, solid and traditional. The Mac and Cheese pizza is something you don't see everyday and is a nice alternative to the usual fare. This is one of the few places that makes their own cannoli and if really pays off. Most place thaw out the frozen cannoli and serve. Here, they use a good North End recipe and the freshness can't be beat. Like the other reviewer, I'd like to see a soda fountain system and perhaps even some wine and beer options. I recently stopped in to Tullis on a very rainy day. The specials noted a French onion soup so I thought I would try it. I also ordered a cup of tea and a garden salad. The salad was full of fresh crunchy veggies and was a generous size for a side salad. I had the house creamy garlic - it was good but felt it was missing something, but maybe that's just me. I usually have a vinaigrette and this wasn't vinegary at all so maybe that was what I was missing. The French Onion soup was delicious. Topped with a large slice of crunchy French bread and Swiss cheese the soup was not thin but full of onion and the broth was thicker than most - it was perfect. Very flavorful and delicious. I would order it again in a heart beat. Service was quick and cheerful. I will be stopping back in again when I am in the area. One thing is that there were no booths but only tables. We read other reviews and tried this place because I wanted seafood and my husband wanted pizza and they have both. I'm SO glad we did as the clam dinner I had there was the best meal I had in my trip to CT and the best clams I've ever had. Seriously! The clams were tender and not a bit chewy with the most delicate and crispy breading you can imagine. The meal came with fries and coleslaw for under $10!! This review is about the new Tulli's at River Ridge golf course, NOT the pizza place in Norwich. The food is OK. However, we recently had lunch there and there was a disagreement about one of the craft beers. Now....I don't know a lot of things in life, but I know my craft beers. One member of our party ordered a beer that he is very familiar with. When it arrived at the table, he immediately told the waitress it was incorrect because it was the wrong color. Tasting it, confirmed that same suspicion. I then tasted it and confirmed it as well. The waitress insisted that it was correct. Then,either the GM or someone else that the waitresses report to got involved (sorry, I did not get his title or name) and after several exchanges, he also insisted that we were incorrect. He said, (very sarcastically) "Well, I guess I'll have to tell the brewers that they put the wrong beer in their kegs" ..and walked off. Whether we were right or wrong (we were right), the way this should have been handled was for that guy to ask how he could make it right or offer us that round for free. Instead, we were treated rudely and condescendingly. What was an enjoyable day of golf, ended with a very un-enjoyable lunch. read more

Have been here three times now and can happily say "Yay I'm a fan" Once for pizza, great crust, generous toppings, high-quality cheese. We have been twice for breakfast and enjoy the fast friendly service and fresh made food for a decent price. They have some fun music playing low in the background, giving it a nice, upbeat vibe. There is a business next to them called G&P that blasts techno music and you can hear the base come through the walls somewhat if you sit near the wall- but it only slightly detracts from an otherwise really good restaurant that we will definitely visit again. read more
