We've exclusively used the app "Slice" for all our deliveries and takeouts. Over the past year our orders and time predictions have never been wrong. Taste is always good and quite distinct. My only gripe(which could be said of most pizza places) is many meats are only available fried. It did not specifically state fried on the app. I got excited once and made my own custom meatzza with shrimp, clam, chicken, steak, etc.. I was imagining a protein dense super meal. So many locals know that there are new owners. I'm sure it was a great challenge taking over during Covid. So let's get to it. The good: For me, the food hasn't changed too much. You are allowed to eat in, but you have to go to the counter place your order, get a number and wait for your number to be called from your table. Paper plates and disposable cutlery. In my opinion, not a great dining experience. The Ugly: We ordered a large Special Pizza with extra cheese and a order of fries. $30. I understand that prices have gone up, but there are other restaurants in the area that are giving them a run for their money. Occum Pizza is great. I once ordered a Hamburger Onion Pizza. I didn't like the way it was made, but they gave me a gift certificate which they honored, and made me take the Pizza anyway. They made it like a cheeseburger Pizza. When I got home, it was delicious. It threw me off when I opened the pizza and all I saw was lettuce/Salad. Well I would order that again. I often order the chicken wings and their Supreme Pizza. Special order Pizza. I just wish they would offer it in small for the people who live alone. I ignored it the first time - we're all entitled to a bad day now and again, but a few weeks later I call back only to be talked down to again. Ordered Buffalo chicken with blue cheese and loaded fries and ranch on a Saturday at 7. They said 15-20 minutes on the phone so we took our time getting there. Arrived at about 7:20 and were told there would be another 10 minute wait. The restaurant was hot, the staff seemed very unorganized. We have been to Occum pizza a few times in the past but never witten a review of this place. I will say we have had their Taco Pizza many times in the past and consider it to be the best around. This visit we decided to try some items we have not had before. We started with wing dings, these are a pre-breaded frozen product; with that said it is also some of the best fried wings you can get. The wing dings come 10 pieces to an order for about 8.00. My dinner partner ordered the spaghetti and meatball pizza, he had never heard of this and wanted to try it. He took a bite and his eyes rolled all the way back, this item is a total 5 all day, this pizza was 10.75 for a small and it's totally worth it. I ordered a meatball calzone with fried green peppers and provalone cheese in addition to the mozzarella - cheddar blend and ricotta cheese. I believe this calzone priced out to 12.00 or so and it was so worth it. I need to give Occum pizza a round of applause, the three previous establishments I have been to "proudly" serve frozen meatballs, I was so pleasantly surprised that this place makes their meatballs and they are slamming good. We ending the meal with my favorite dessert; rice pudding. I give this dessert a 4 out 5 because I'm not a fan of rasins in my rice pudding. It did however have a nice taste and texture and I would order ir again. Our server (I'm sorry I forgot your name) was amazing; she was personal and professional, she knew the menu and was able to make some good suggestions. Our final bill befor tip came to about 46.00 and we had no buyers remorse and look forward to our next visit. For context we live about 45 minutes with no traffic from this place. Their fries, eh, slightly below average, not crispy and borderline warm when delivered. Onion rings are better, but not much. My friend got a chicken Caesar salad which was very small, like a side salad. It came with what looked like one lonely previously frozen chicken tender a small handful of romaine and a few meager shavings of parmesan for a whopping $8.99 !?!?!?!?! It was a sad salad. We also got a side of coleslaw which they said was homemade, but by that I think they meant they mixed the cabbage themselves with the premade slaw dressing from a jar. It was pretty average. Listen, I am an avid lover of Occum pizza and I will always give them my patronage. I however keep running into the same problem where it seems the employees are unsure of their whole menu. I ordered the crispy buffalo chicken specialty white pizza once and it was absolutely delicious and I raved about it. About a month ago I ordered the same pizza the same way and the person on the other end of the phone seemed confused by my order but didn't clarify. I then came home and realized I had been given a white pizza with just chicken and cheese, no buffalo sauce. Tonight, I wanted to give them another try because I really want that pizza!
