This establishment has been open for many years prior to occum Pizza it has been Rena's Pizza. The food there is exceptional there are people there that really care about the customers and the customers keep coming back over and over again. You can tell the employees really care about the customers and the food they're making. There really is true work ethic at this place and I understand people might think it's different but the business there is still very busy there's always somebody there all the time ordering and I have never been let down by any of the things that I have ordered. I always have people with smiling faces greeting me when I check out and I would recommend this place to anybody especially for a small town that doesn't have a lot of good places to eat this is a very good place to eat. read more

Today was my first time trying this place and omg. So I'm from New Hampshire originally and this is this is the first place from my last 10 years in Connecticut where I had a pizza that tasted like home. It was sooo delicious. Don't ever come to this restaurant they have roaches they have horrible service it's not like when Cindy and Jerry were running it and the waitstaff are okay there is a very nice girl that just started there and I think the other staff treat her pretty bad she seems to be very nice to everybody. I've only seen her for probably about a month now. I don't like the fact of the the roaches I don't like the fact of my food has to be undercooked or waiting over 45 minutes to get my meal or it never is given at the right time and they believe it on something else. A lot of the staff have been very rude lately especially one woman I don't know what her name is but she's been there for a while and she's very nasty to all of the customers anytime you tell them that she makes a mistake she does not say that she has made a mistake. No one wears gloves there when they're making the food except for the one girl that just started that I was talking about that wears gloves when she was making my salad and I actually saw her doing it but besides that nobody else has worn gloves. We've exclusively used the app "Slice" for all our deliveries and takeouts. Over the past year our orders and time predictions have never been wrong. Taste is always good and quite distinct. My only gripe(which could be said of most pizza places) is many meats are only available fried. It did not specifically state fried on the app. I got excited once and made my own custom meatzza with shrimp, clam, chicken, steak, etc.. I was imagining a protein dense super meal. Occum Pizza is great. I once ordered a Hamburger Onion Pizza. I didn't like the way it was made, but they gave me a gift certificate which they honored, and made me take the Pizza anyway. They made it like a cheeseburger Pizza. When I got home, it was delicious. It threw me off when I opened the pizza and all I saw was lettuce/Salad. Well I would order that again. We have been to Occum pizza a few times in the past but never witten a review of this place. I will say we have had their Taco Pizza many times in the past and consider it to be the best around. This visit we decided to try some items we have not had before. We started with wing dings, these are a pre-breaded frozen product; with that said it is also some of the best fried wings you can get. The wing dings come 10 pieces to an order for about 8.00. My dinner partner ordered the spaghetti and meatball pizza, he had never heard of this and wanted to try it. He took a bite and his eyes rolled all the way back, this item is a total 5 all day, this pizza was 10.75 for a small and it's totally worth it. I ordered a meatball calzone with fried green peppers and provalone cheese in addition to the mozzarella - cheddar blend and ricotta cheese. I believe this calzone priced out to 12.00 or so and it was so worth it. I need to give Occum pizza a round of applause, the three previous establishments I have been to "proudly" serve frozen meatballs, I was so pleasantly surprised that this place makes their meatballs and they are slamming good. We ending the meal with my favorite dessert; rice pudding. I give this dessert a 4 out 5 because I'm not a fan of rasins in my rice pudding. It did however have a nice taste and texture and I would order ir again. Our server (I'm sorry I forgot your name) was amazing; she was personal and professional, she knew the menu and was able to make some good suggestions. Our final bill befor tip came to about 46.00 and we had no buyers remorse and look forward to our next visit. For context we live about 45 minutes with no traffic from this place. It came with what looked like one lonely previously frozen chicken tender a small handful of romaine and a few meager shavings of parmesan for a whopping $8.99 !?!?!?!?! It was a sad salad. Listen, I am an avid lover of Occum pizza and I will always give them my patronage. I however keep running into the same problem where it seems the employees are unsure of their whole menu. I ordered the crispy buffalo chicken specialty white pizza once and it was absolutely delicious and I raved about it. About a month ago I ordered the same pizza the same way and the person on the other end of the phone seemed confused by my order but didn't clarify. I then came home and realized I had been given a white pizza with just chicken and cheese, no buffalo sauce. Tonight, I wanted to give them another try because I really want that pizza!
